3 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three people with impaired driving over the last three days.

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., L&A County OPP members observed a vehicle swerving on Highway 401 eastbound near Palace Road. Police stopped the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

Shahid IQBAL, a 43-year-old from Toronto was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol

On Monday, March 17, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m., L&A County OPP was called after a vehicle left the road and struck a hydro pole on Bridge Street in Greater Napanee. The lone occupant of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Following an investigation, Victor ABRAMS, an 82-year-old from Napanee was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol

Also on Monday, March 17, 2025, just after 10:00 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious vehicle stopped near the intersection of County Road 7 and County Road 41 in Addington Highlands Township. Police attended to investigate and the driver was arrested.

Pamela BENNETT, a 73-year-old from Belleville was charged with operation while impaired – drug.

All the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 8, 2025. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded.

Richard JOHNSON – Drunk Driving

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic complaint in Adelaide Metcalfe.

On March 13, 2025, at 3:40 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Centre Road in Adelaide Metcalfe for the report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Richard JOHNSON, a 53-year-old of Loxahatchee, Florida, United States of America, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was held for bail.

Nelson Robert LARAMEY Facing Numerous Charges

(TINY TOWNSHIP, ON) –  An early morning vehicle stop on Simcoe County Road 6 Tiny Township by a keen eyed member of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has resulted in a drug seizure and vehicle impound and a load of charges for a Tiny Township resident.

Near 2:38 a.m. March 17, 2025, outside of Wyevale, the officer conducted a vehicle stop of a white Jeep for a traffic violation and upon speaking with the driver an identity investigation was commenced leading to further roadside investigation resulting in the seizure of open liquor and a quantity of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of this investigation 42 year old Nelson Robert LARAMEY has been charged with the following offences;

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

And Further With

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

And the Following Provincial Offences

  • Drive motor vehicle while suspended x2
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence
  • Fail to provide permit – motor vehicle
  • Fail to provide insurance card
  • Improper mud guards
  • Operate motor vehicle with open liquor readily available to driver

The accused was served notice to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on May 1, 2025 and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days  in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.The accused was then turned over to OPP officers at another detachment who held a number of warrants for his arrest.

Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(KINGSVILLE, ON) – An individual is deceased after being struck by a vehicle at a farm in Kingsville.

On Monday, March 17, 2025, at approximately 5:11 p.m., members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Kingsville Fire Department and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian at a farm on County Road 20 in the Town of Kingsville.

The 59-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team, the Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL) are actively conducting an investigation and are appealing to the public for assistance.

Cocaine Bust – Derek JACQUES

(TERRACE BAY, ON) – One Individual is facing charges after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Terrace Bay, Ontario. 

On March 11, 2025, members of the Nipigon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), K9 Unit and members of the Schrieber OPP detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Kenogami Road in Terrace Bay.

The investigation has resulted in the seizure of suspected crack cocaine and other items associated with drug trafficking.

Derek JACQUES, 33-years-old of Terrace Bay, Ontario has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

The accused was held for a bail hearing and has been remanded into custody.

6 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged six drivers with impaired driving related offences during the first half of March.

On Friday March 7, 2025, just before 3:00 a.m., Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report of a collision that occurred on Germania Road near Gilbert Lane after the involved vehicle left the roadway and became lodged in a snowbank. The driver was uninjured, and police have charged 34-year-old David REISMAN of Bracebridge with Operation while Impaired- Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 1, 2025, to answer to his charge.

On Saturday March 8, 2025, at 8:40 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a concern from a member of the public about a motorist driving on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst. The caller reported that the vehicle struck the concrete median and continued driving. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 North near Highway 118 and subsequently arrested and charged 32-year-old Joel LIZOTTE of Penetanguishene, ON with Operation while Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 15, 2025, to answer to his charges.

On Sunday March 9, 2025, at 1:40 a.m., Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting proactive patrols in the town of Bracebridge and stopped a vehicle on Wellington Street. Police subsequently arrested and charged 38-year-old Bradley WILLIAMS of Severn, ON with Operation while Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 15, 2025, to answer to his charges.

Just before midnight on March 9, 2025, officers in Gravenhurst were looking for a vehicle that had been reportedly driving erratically on Bay Street and located it in a parking lot near the Gravenhurst Wharf. After an interaction with the driver, police have charged 35-year-old Gerald TABACHACK of Wikwemikong, ON with Operation while Impaired- Alcohol and Drug CC 320.14(1)(a). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 22, 2025, to answer to his charge.

On Saturday March 15, 2025, at 10:00 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Ecclestone Drive in Bracebridge and observed a vehicle turn in a possible attempt to avoid traveling through the RIDE check. Police conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 26-year-old Sean DESPINS of Gravenhurst, ON with Operation while Impaired- Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 8, 2025, to answer to his charge.

On Sunday March 16, 2025, at 8:30 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers responded to concerns from a member of the public about a possibly impaired driver on Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst. Officers located the vehicle on Pine Street in Bracebridge and subsequently arrested and charged 30-year-old Shannon SUTEY of Bracebridge, ON with Operation while Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 8, 2025, to answer to her charges.

39 Year Old From Goderich Arrested Again – Details Released #RepeatOffender

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place at a location on Huron Road in the Municipality of Central Huron on Saturday March 15th, 2025.   

Just before 11:30 a.m. on March 15th, 2025, police were contacted to investigate a disturbance complaint. Police attended and discovered that an individual had been causing a disturbance and departed the location prior to police arrival. The suspect was located and arrested in Central Huron the following day.

Matthew DALE, 39 years-of-age of Goderich has been charged with:

–      Causing a Disturbance,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich where they were remanded into custody.

Stolen Vehicles Recovered – Ghislain GALLANT Arrested

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – A resident of Saint-Hubert, Quebec has been charged after stolen vehicles were found in a sea container on eastbound Highway 401.

Officers from the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) were conducting an inspection just before 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Curry Hills Scales, east of Cornwall, when they made the discovery. Members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene.

The two vehicles in the sea can had been reported stolen in Greater Toronto area.

As a result of the investigation, Ghislain GALLANT, age 63, has been charged with

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 – two counts
  • Trafficking in stolen good over $5000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 7, 2025.

51 Year Old From South Huron Arrested – Details Relasesd

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with a criminal driving offence following a traffic stop in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check in the Municipality of South Huron on March 11th, 2025. 

On Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE check at the intersection of Huron Street East and Morrison Line in South Huron targeting impaired motorists. Officers checked a driver that entered the RIDE check and subsequently arrested the driver for impaired operation. The driver was transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment to conduct testing before an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) trained officer. As a result, the accused was charged as follows:

Steven CLARKE, 51 years-of-age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused’ driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 14, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Kincardine

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On March 17, 2025, at approximately 2:54 a.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Sideroad 15, Municipality of Kincardine.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Cole FISICO, 27-years-old, of LaSalle, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on April 30, 2025 to answer to the charge.

35 Year Old From Morris-Turnberry Arrested – Details Released

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Morris-Turnberry resident with criminal driving offences following an investigation in the Township of Morris-Turnberry on March 10th, 2025. 

At 9:20 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, Huron County OPP officers responded to a location on Browntown Road and discovered that an individual had been operating a vehicle after consuming alcohol. Police spoke to the driver, and they were subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

David GARNISS, 35 years-of-age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – alcohol and drug,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 28, 2025.

Wroxeter Assaults – Jason RICHARDSON Arrested

(HOWICK, ON) – On Thursday, March 13th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a dispute in the Village of Wroxeter in the Township of Howick.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed several criminal offences against two persons.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

Jason RICHARDSON, 48 years-of-age from Howick has been charged with:

–      Assault – (two counts),

–      Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death – (two counts),

–      Assault Causing Bodily Harm,

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Operation while Prohibited.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, then later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 07, 2025.

Car Sale Scam – Rafael LAYTON Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual for scams associated with car sales.

In July 2024, Caledon OPP received a report of fraudulent transactions while purchasing vehicles. The fraud was initiated through an ad on Facebook Marketplace where a family discount was offered on the sale of vehicles. Three victims transferred funds to the alleged seller and the transactions were completed at a dealership. In the end, money was transferred but did not go against the vehicle loans that were opened as part of the scam.

The Caledon OPP Major Crime Unit led the investigation. On March 5, 2025, an individual was arrested.

As a result, Rafael LAYTON, 52, of Oakville, was charged with:

• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

• Fraud over $5000 – three counts

• Intimidation – use of threatens use of violence

• Laundering proceeds of crime 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on April 3, 2025, to answer to the charges.

18 Year Old Ditch Drunk Driver Arrested

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On March 16, 2025, at approximately 12:15 a.m. Wellington County OPP attended a collision involving a single motor vehicle into the ditch on Wellington Road 5 near Wellington Road 109, in the Town of Minto.

As a result of the investigation, Bradley BOELKE, 18-years-old of Mount Forest, was charged with:

– Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs contrary to the Criminal Code

– Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on March 25, 2025.

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals are facing impaired driving related offences in Oxford County after two separate incidents that occurred on Saturday night.

On March 15, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a member of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol when they stopped a vehicle on Highway 59 in Norwich Township for concerning driving behaviour.

Benjamin Stevens, 49-years-old, of the City of Woodstock, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Drugs

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 8, 2025.

On March 16, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the Oxford OPP were dispatched to a report of a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 401 in the Township of Southwest Oxford. Police attended and located the lone occupant of the vehicle.

Jaidon Blakeman, 22-years-old, of the City of Hamilton, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 29, 2025.

Both accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
