Stephanie SMITH Was Arrested

(TINY TOWNSHIP, ON) A driver is facing impaired charges after the classic car they were operating left the roadway and struck a group of trees in Tiny Township last evening.

At around 7:45 p.m. on April 22, 2024, members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police(OPP) arrived on the scene of a single motor vehicle collision on Rue Lafontaine East in the Township of Tiny. Police located the vehicle, a 70’s era Chevrolet Corvette with extensive damage (see photo), lodged in a forest approximately 25 metres off the roadway.

The driver was spoken to and received care from Simcoe County Paramedics. While investigating, officers gathered grounds to believe that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment to provide breath samples.

As a result of this investigation, Stephanie SMITH, 50 years Penetanguishene, Ontario was charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code:

  • Operation while Impaired
  • Operation over 80 Milligrams

The accused was released to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a later date. When charged with impaired driving, the driver’s license of the accused is suspended for 90 days and the vehicle they were operating is impounded for 7 days.

The OPP remains committed to taking alcohol/drug-impaired drivers off our roads through enforcement and public education. Timothy FAGAN – Drunk Driving

(TINY TOWNSHIP,ON) – As a result of a driving complaint reported to the OPP Communication Centre at approximately 12:26 p.m. March 25, 2024, a 60-yr-old Tiny Township resident now faces impaired driving charges.

Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment were alerted to the driving behavior of an operator behind the wheel of a silver/grey BMW on Highway 93 and patrolled the area with a sharp eyed traffic officer locating a vehicle matching the provided description a short distance north of the village of Wyebridge, Tiny Township at approximately 1:00p.m. March 25, 2024.

The officer upon speaking with the driver of the vehicle, entered into a drinking and driving investigation resulting in Timothy FAGAN being charged criminally in relation to this investigation with the offences of Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and further with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 11, 2024, was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines..
