$1,000 In Baby Formula Stolen From Kincardine – Photos Released

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On February 11, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft from a business in the area of Durham Street and Highway 21, Municipality of Kincardine.

At approximately 6:50 p.m., two males were observed in the store before stealing approximately $1,000 of baby formula, then departing in a red & tan coloured pick-up truck with a burnt out drivers side headlight.

The individuals are described as the following:

  • Middle eastern, mid 20’s, average height, slim build, unshaven, short dark hair, blue puffy jacket, grey hoodie with a black hood.
  • Middle eastern, 30’s, average heigh, medium build, short black hair, close shaven beard, black jacket

Drunk Driver Arrested In Kincardine

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On January 16, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Broadway Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

Christopher FAYANT, 50-years-old, of Regina, Saskatchewan, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on February 19, 2025.

14 Year Old Arrested For Break & Enter In Kincardine

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On January 11, 2025, at approximately 12:52 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break & enter at a business property along Queen Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

OPP Canine and members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) located one individual a short distance from the scene; they were then taken in custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 14-year-old from Kincardine, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break & Enter – CC 348(1)(a) – two counts
  • Theft under $5,000 – CC 334(b)
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000 – CC 355(b)
  • Mischief under $5,000 – CC 430(4) – two counts

The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice at a later date.

Assaults In Kincardine – 2 Arrested

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On January 5, 2025, at approximately 10:34 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault at an address along Upper Lorne Beach Road in the Municipality of Kincardine.

Investigation revealed that two individuals were engaged in a physical confrontation resulting in minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, two individuals were arrested and face charges.

Christopher BENOIT, 39-years-old of Sarnia, has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon, CC 267(a)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on February 12, 2025 to answer to the charge.

Kerry ROBINSON, 34-years-old of the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, has been charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm, CC 267(b)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on February 19, 2025 to answer to the charge.

Kory BROWN – Drunk Driving

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On December 6, 2024, at approximately 11:14 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Broadway Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped and checked by police.

Jason LEEDER – Impaired Operation

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On December 1, 2024, at approximately 12:24 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint along Bruce Road 20, Municipality of Kincardine.

On arrival, officers located a single vehicle stuck in the snow. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the South Bruce OPP detachment.

Jason LEEDER, 50-years-old, of Saugeen Shores was charged with:

  • Refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
  • Operation while Impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on January 19, 2025.

Andrew MCALLISTER Was Arrested AGAIN!

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On November 17, 2024, at approximately 12:22 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Queen Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

During the operation, a vehicle in the area was checked by police. The vehicle had been reported stolen.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew MCALLISTER, 28-years-old from Owen Sound, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5000, CC 355(a)
  • Fail to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a) – three counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order, CC 733.1(1) – two counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon, CC 91(2)
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle, HTA 12(1)(d)
  • Drive while under suspension, HTA 53(1)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Michael WHITEHEAD Was Arrested Again

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On November 11, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an unwanted person at an address along Queen Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

On police arrival, the involved person brandished an edged weapon towards officers. They were taken into custody after a brief struggle with police.

Michael WHITEHEAD, 30-years-old from Kincardine was charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon, CC 270.01(1)(a) – two counts
  • Fail to Comply with Probation, CC 733.1(1) – two counts
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, CC 88
  • Resist Peace Officer, CC 129(a)
  • Possess Stolen Property, CC 355(b)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Brent STEFFLER – Impaired Driving

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On November 10, 2024, at approximately 12:08 a.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol along West Ridge Lane in Kincardine and stopped to check a vehicle.

The investigating officer observed signs of impairment from the driver. They were later arrested after performing poorly on a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) and transported to the South Bruce OPP detachment, where further tests were administered.

Brent STEFFLER, 34-years-old, from the Municipality of South Bruce was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on December 11, 2024.

Connor DEMERCHANT Arrested For Hit & Run

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On September 18, 2024, at 6:41 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol along Bruce Road 23 in the Municipality of Kincardine and attempted to stop a vehicle. The vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed. Police did not pursue the vehicle due to public safety concerns.

A few moments later, the vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle collision in the area of Kingsway Street where it had collided with a residence. The driver fled on foot, however was captured by police shortly thereafter. 

As a result of the investigation, Connor DEMERCHANT, 18-years-old from Kincardine, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Flight from peace officer, CC 320.17
  • Dangerous Operation, CC 320.13(1)
  • Speeding, HTA 128
  • Fail to remain, HTA 200(1)(a)
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on November 20, 2024.

Nathan CHAMBERS Was Arrested Again

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On September 18, 2024, at 4:52 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen pick-up truck with attached livestock trailer, taken from an address along Sideroad 15 North in the Municipality of Kincardine.

The vehicle was abandoned in the area of Bervie Sideroad and Concession 5; the driver then fled on foot. OPP Canine and members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) were called to assist. An individual was later located and placed under arrest. 

As a result of the investigation, Nathan CHAMBERS, 27-years-old from North Huron, has been charged with the following offences:

Pets Stolen During Home Invasion In Kincardine – Name Withheld By Police #DontEatOurPets

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On September 15, 2024, at 10:11 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break & enter along Bruce Road 20 in the Municipality of Kincardine.

The victim’s cat and dog were removed from the home during the break-in. As a result of the investigation, South Bruce OPP arrested an individual and located the animals which have been returned to the owner. The accused was held for a bail hearing in Walkerton.

A 49-year-old male from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with:

  • Break & Enter a dwelling house
  • Mischief Under $5,000 (two counts)
  • Theft Under $5,000 (two counts)

Cory HEDGER – Drunk Driving

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On September 11, 2024, at 6:24 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report for a possible impaired driver along Queen Street in Kincardine.

The vehicle was located by officers and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Cory HEDGER, 41-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
