94 Domestic Assault Cases In James Bay Last Month #EndTheAbuse

(JAMES BAY REGION, ON) – In the month of March 2024, members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have investigated a total of 94 occurrence related to intimate partner violence.

Within the four detachments that make up the James Bay cluster, the Cochrane office investigated 18, Hearst 17, Kapuskasing 21, and Moosonee 38 occurrences. Of the 94 investigations, 33 resulted in criminal charges.

Another Anonymous Spousal Assault #EndTheAbuse

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – One individual was charged following an investigation into an incident of intimate partner violence.

At approximately 11:58 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to and investigated a disturbance at an address in Norfolk County.

It was determined that two individuals had a dispute on the premises, resulting in the victim being physically assaulted. No injuries were reported.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody.

Charged with the following alleged offence is a 31-year-old individual from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation:

  • Assault – spousal.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Another Spousal Assault & Break & Enter – Abuse, Keep It In The Family To Keep It Anonymous

(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex County, has charged an individual following an intimate partner violence investigation.

On March 26, 2024, at 5:09 p.m., members of the Chippewas of the Thames Police, Oneida Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, for the report of a disturbance.

The accused fled the scene in a vehicle, which was located a short time later at another residence.

The accused was taken into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old of Lambton County, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

·      Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence

·      Assault – Spousal (two counts)

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Failure to comply with undertaking

·      Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

The accused was held for bail.

15 Year Old Arrested For Spousal Assault

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – One individual was charged following an investigation into an incident of intimate partner violence.

At approximately 1:59 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a report of an assault at an address in Norfolk County.

It was determined that two individuals were involved in a confrontation, resulting in the victim being physically assaulted. No injuries were reported.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is a 15-year-old individual from Norfolk County:

  • Assault – spousal.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Drunk Driver Attacks Partner With Weapon & Keeps Name Out Headlines

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On March 12, 2024, at 9:25 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an address in Kincardine and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation.

Editor’s Note: It is now common knowledge that if you are being arrested for anything and want to remain anonymous, simply assault a loved one and the police will withhold your name. This is how these criminals treat the people they love and are supposed to protect, imagine how they treat people they don’t like. A policy that has lead to a lot of beatings.

As a result of the police investigation, a 36-year-old of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Assault with a weapon – two counts
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Break & Enter
  • Mischief
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing. The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.

(MEAFORD, ON) – On March 12, 2024, at 12:02 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP responded to an address in Grey Highlands and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation. 

A 31-year-old from the Muncipality of Meaford was charged with:

·      Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate, strangle X2

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

(HURON EAST, ON) – On February 20th, 2024, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Huron East.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed several criminal acts against their partner in 2020.

A 21-year-old individual from Waterloo has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal,

–      Assault Causing Bodily Harm – (two counts),

–      Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death – Spousal.

The accused was arrested, processed, and later released from custody with a court date scheduled for the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On February 21st, 2024, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Central Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed a criminal act against their partner in 2022.

A 46-year-old individual from Central Huron has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

–      Assault with a Weapon – Spousal.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled for the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On February 22nd, 2024, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Central Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed several criminal acts against their partner.

A 53-year-old individual from Central Huron has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal – (four counts),

–      Assault Causing Bodily Harm.

The accused was arrested, processed, and later released from custody with a court date scheduled for the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – On February 21, 2024, at 8:09 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in Southwest Middlesex, for the report of a historical assault.

As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old of Middlesex County, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Assault – Spousal (two counts)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to speak to the charges.
