Adriana SEMPLE – Assault

(BANCROFT, ON) – The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged one person following an altercation.

On April 10, 2025, shortly before 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in Hastings Highlands. One person was arrested at the scene.

Adriana SEMPLE, age 25 of Hastings Highlands, has been charged with assault.

The accused was released from custody is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on May 6, 2025.

17 Year Old Suffers Serious Injuries In Attack

(INGERSOLL, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges following an assault investigation in the Town of Ingersoll.

On April 7, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to an assault that had occurred in the area of Alma Street, in the Town of Ingersoll.

Police attended and investigated. A 17-year-old male youth was located and found to have serious non-life-threatening injuries.

Lucas Thornton, 18-years-old, of Ingersoll, has been charged with:

·      Assault with a weapon – Two counts

·      Uttering threats – Cause death or bodily harm

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock.

 A 15-year-old has been charged with:

·      Robbery with violence

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on a later date.

The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

HODGINS Arrested For Assault

(NORTH MIDDLESEX ON) – Disturbance at a residence in Ailsa Craig leads to charges. 

On April 1, 2025, at 1:03 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Main Street in Ailsa Craig, North Middlesex, for the report of a family dispute.

An individual was placed under arrest at which time the accused damaged a door to the police cruiser.

As a result, Zachary HODGINS, a 29-year-old of Collingwood, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault with A Weapon
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property

The accused was held for bail.

There were no injuries reported.

Violence & Abuse In Mount Forest #WaitInTheTruck

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Mount Forest resident with two criminal charges in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation.

On March 31, 2025, at approximately 4:45 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address in Mount Forest.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old of Mount Forest is charged under the Criminal Code with the following:

  • Assault – spousal
  • Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

More Abuse #Enough #WaitInTheTruck

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into an incident of intimate partner violence.

At approximately 8:51 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported assault at a Norfolk County address.

It was determined that two individuals were involved in an interaction inside a residence, resulting in the victim being physically assaulted. No injuries were reported.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

A 37-year-old from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate, strangle.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.

Melissa SLATER Assault With Weapon

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following an assault investigation in Simcoe.

At approximately 2:14 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported assault on Owen Street in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that a paramedic had an interaction with another individual in the area, during which the paramedic was physically assaulted. No injuries were reported.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

31-year-old Melissa SLATER from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Assault with a weapon.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

(MALAHIDE, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment, has charged an individual following a disturbance.

On March 29, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m., members of the Elgin OPP were dispatched to an address in Malahide Township, for the report of a disturbance between family members.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher Campbell a 33-year-old from Malahide was charged with:

·        Assault

·        Mischief – destroys or damages property

·        Uttering Threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused was held for bail.

Karli CLARK – Assault With Weapon

(LOYALIST TOWNSHIP, ON) – Lennox and Addington County Detachment members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with numerous offences including assault and assault with a weapon following an incident in Amherstview.

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, shortly before 3:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members attended a medical clinic after it was reported that a patient had assaulted and threatened a doctor. No one was injured during the incident.

Karli CLARK, a 29-year-old from Kingston was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault – two counts
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Uttering threats to damage property

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on March 27, 2025.

Suzanne MOON – Assault

(WEST NIPISSINGON) – Police arrested and charged one person with assault

On March 21, 2025, at approximately 7:25 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a recreational complex on O’Hara Street, West Nipissing.

There were no injuries reported when, an employee was verbally confronted by a member of the public, which escalated to an assault on the employee.

As a result of the investigation, Suzanne MOON, 68 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was arrested and charged with, assault.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 1, 2025, in North Bay.

Assault In Clinton – One Arrested

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On March 16th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to disturbance in the Town of Clinton, Municipality of Central Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect youth had allegedly committed an assault on another youth.

A 17-year-old youth from Huron-Kinloss has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault,

–      Resist Peace Officer,

–      Obstruct Peace Officer.

The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 10, 2025.

Assault With Weapon – BAKER

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a family dispute at a residence on Beckett Boulevard in the City of Elliot Lake resulting in one person being arrested.

On March 20, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., police attended the residence to speak to the complainant/parent and were advised that the younger family member was throwing household items around, swung a broom stick at the complainant and a grandparent and threatening to punch both victims in the face. 

Prior to police arrival the younger family member left the residence and was later arrested at 2:15 p.m., on Spine Road.

Dean BAKER, 27 years-of-age from Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on April 10, 2025.

Warren TODD Was Arrested For Asault & Threats – Alcohol A Factor

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one male party following a disturbance at a residence in Brechin, Ramara Township.

On March 20,2025 at approximately 9:15 p.m. officers from the Orillia Detachment of the OPP were dispatched to a disturbance in Brechin with reports that a male party was leaving a residence impaired after assaulting and threatening another individual. Shortly after officers located the vehicle and suspect on Hwy 12 near Muley Point Road. Officers quickly determined the driver was impaired placing him under arrest.

As a result, Warren TODD, 50-year-old, from Orillia has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drug
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Assault
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Mischief Over $5000.00 x 2

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date in April 2025. As a result of these charges, his driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.

High School Assault

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On March 19, 2025 at 11:40a.m., the Huntsville OPP officers responded to a report of an assault at the local High School.  

The investigation revealed the accused, a male student, had allegedly threatened and then assaulted another student. The victim sustained injuries that required medical care. The extent of injuries are yet to be determined.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged

·      Assault Causing Bodily Harm

·      Uttering Threats – To cause bodily harm.

The accused was released to the care a parent and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario on May 8, 2025. The name of the accused is not released as per the restrictions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and to respect the privacy of the victim.

John McGOURTY Was Arrested

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating separate incidents of assault.

On March 18, 2025, at around 12:30 p.m., police received a report of an assault which had occurred near a school in the Municipality of Trent Hills. Officers began an investigation into the incident involving minor injuries.

Through investigation, a 14-year-old, from the Municipality of Trent Hills, was arrested in relation to the incident and referred to an Extrajudicial Measures Program under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). They shall not be named under the provisions of the YCJA.

On March 20, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., an officer was patrolling Victoria Street in the Township of Cramahe, when they located an individual who was walking and believed to be connected to an earlier traffic complaint regarding an all-terrain vehicle.

The person was intoxicated and attempted to assault an officer while resisting arrest.

As a result, John McGOURTY (age 24), from Colborne, has been charged with:

–      Assault a Peace Officer

–      Resist Peace Officer

–      Being intoxicated in a public place.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

Child Abuse Investigation Results In 20+ Charges #WaitInTheTruck

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with assistance from Renfrew County Family and Children’s Services (FCS), has charged one person after investigating allegations of child abuse.

On March 14, 2025, Renfrew OPP completed a joint investigation with FCS in Arnprior.

As a result of the investigation, the accused, age 40 from Arnprior, was charged with:

·      Assault – 23 counts

·      Assault – spousal

·      Assault – cause bodily harm- choke, suffocate or strangle

·      Uttering threats- cause death or bodily harm, two counts

·      Killing or injuring animals – three counts

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 30, 2025.

In efforts to protect the identity of the victims, the accused will not be named.
