Assault With Weapon – Kenneth Chimweta Irons

LONDON, ON (March 27, 2024) – A London man is in custody after members of the London Police Service responded to a disturbance in the city’s old south.

Early this morning at approximately 2:40 a.m., members of the London Police Service Uniformed Division responded to a disturbance in the area of Chester and High streets.

Officers arrived and learned that a suspect male had shot a male victim with an alleged firearm before pointing it at another female victim.

The suspect male was located and arrested still in the area.

A search of the man yielded a black airsoft gun.

The male victim was transported to hospital by paramedic services with minor injuries requiring medical attention.

As a result of the investigation, Kenneth Chimweta Irons, 26, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Two (2) counts of pointing a firearm; and,
  • Assault with a weapon.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in London court today in relation to the charges.

Beating At Catholic School Sends One To Hospital

A youth is recovering after being assaulted at a high school in Whitby.

On Thursday, March 21, 2024, at approximately 12:20 p.m., members from Central West Division responded to an unknown trouble call at Father Leo Austin Catholic School located at 1020 Dryden Blvd in Whitby.   Officers arrived on scene and located a youth suffering from a head injury.   He was transported to a local-area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An on-scene investigation revealed that the victim was struck in the head with a baseball bat by a group of five to six males who left the area in a vehicle.  Investigators believe this to be a targeted attack and there is no risk to public safety.

Mandeep SINGH Arrested For Assault

(BRANT, ON) – One individual was charged following an investigation into an assault in Paris.

At approximately 7:51 p.m., on Wednesday, March 19, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment investigated an assault at an address on Grand River Street, Brant County.

It was determined that two individuals engaged in a confrontation on the premises, leading to the physical assault of one of them. No serious injuries were reported.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following offence is 21-year-old Mandeep SINGH of Brantford:

–      Assault.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford on May 10, 2024.

Road Rage – One Arrested – Name Released

(NAIRN-HYMAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged following a road rage incident on Highway 17.

On March 15, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault with a weapon on Highway 17 in Nairn-Hyman Township.

It was reported that two vehicles had been involved in a road rage incident and stopped at the same truck stop. One driver brandished a knife and lunged at the other driver after being confronted. Police were able to locate the vehicle and arrest the driver.

As a result of the investigation, Dillaneous DUNCAN, 38-years-old, from Sudbury has been charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Use plate not in accordance with regulations
  • Commercial vehicle – follow too closely

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on May 6, 2024.

Michael CHAMBERS – Assault

(DUFFERIN, COUNTY) – Members from the Dufferin detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged an individual involved in a fraud investigation.

On March 12, 2024, officers responded to the report of a fraud in progress at a financial institution on Broadway in the Town of Orangeville. Officers received information that a male was attempting to open a bank account with fraudulent identification. When the officers approached the suspect, he assaulted one of the officers and fled the scene. A foot pursuit ensued, and the male was arrested without incident.

Thankfully no one was injured.

As a result of the investigation, Michael CHAMBERS, 47-year-old from North York has been charged with:

·      Assault with intent to resist arrest

·      Obstruct Peace Officer

·      Cause or attempt to use a forged document – (six counts)

Tyler Evans – Assault With Weapon

LONDON, ON (March 13, 2024) – A London man was arrested after members of the London Police Service responded to an assault with a weapon investigation in the city’s downtown core.

At approximately 11 p.m., on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, two men known to each other became involved in an argument at a residence in the area of Horton Street East and Clarence Street.

A female guest attempted to break up the argument. The male suspect then told the male and female to leave before retrieving a can of bear spray.

As the male and female left the residence the male suspect sprayed the bear spray at them causing all of them to become overcome by the substance.

Police were called and a description of the suspect was provided.

Officers located and arrested the suspect outside of the residence.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Tyler Evans, 20, of London, has been charged with assault with a weapon.

The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on April 16, 2024, in relation to the charge.

Stabbing – 4 Arrested, ADAMS, MCGIVERN, SHAFFER, CHARLEBOIS

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment has charged four people after an assault in downtown Pembroke.

Officers were called to Pembroke Street West around 9:00 p.m. on March 12, 2024, where they located a 25-year-old male with a stab wound and other minor injuries. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, four people have been arrested.

Richard ADAMS, age 38 of Laurentian Valley Township has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Forcible confinement
  • Failure to comply with a prohibition order

Meryl MCGIVERN, age 37 of Pembroke has been charged with:

  • Assault
  • Forcible confinement
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

Jaclyn SHAFFER, age 43 of Killaloe has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle

Jade CHARLEBOIS, age 25 of Laurentian Valley Township has been charged with assault with a weapon.

All four accused have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 15, 2024.

Do You Have A Right To Know If A Violent Offender Lives Next Door? Another Anonymous Choke, Suffocate & Strangle Incident

(MEAFORD, ON) – On March 12, 2024, at 12:02 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP responded to an address in Grey Highlands and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation. 

A 31-year-old from the Muncipality of Meaford was charged with:

·      Assault – spousal

·      Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate, strangle X2

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim.

Repeat Offender Assaults Spouse & Another – Name Withheld By Police

(FORT FRANCES) – One individual is facing numerous assault charges following an incident in the Town of Fort Frances.

On March 11, 2023, just before 7:00 p.m., members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident on Sixth Street in the Town of Fort Frances where two individuals had been assaulted. Officers located one individual nearby and subsequently placed them under arrest.  

There were no serious injuries reported to police.

As a result, a 34-year-old, of Fort Frances has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Liquor Licence and Control Act with:

·        Assault – two counts

·        Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

·        Assault – Spousal

·        Fail to Comply with Probation Order – two counts

·        Being Intoxicated in Public Place

·        Having Liquor in Open Container in Unauthorized Place

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim.

Pervert Alert: Education Assistant Cameron Ivens Arrested For Child Porn, Sexual Assault – Police Fear More Victims

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid charges in relation to an Internet Child Exploitation investigation involving a former Educational Assistant previously employed by the Halton District School Board.

On March 7, 2024, Cameron Ivens (42) of Milton was arrested.

He has been charged with the following:

  • Make Child Pornography (15 Counts)
  • Voyeurism (14 Counts)
  • Sexual Assault (6 Counts)
  • Possession of Child Pornography (3 Counts)
  • Sexual Interference (3 Counts)
  • Exposure to Person Under 16 Years (2 Counts)
  • Assault (2 Counts)
  • Transmit Child Pornography
  • Access Child Pornography
  • Invitation to Sexual Touching

Ivens is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The accused was previously employed as an Educational Assistant and worked at the following schools:

  • P.L Robertson Public School in Milton from February 2014 – October 2014
  • Munns Public School in Oakville from October 2014 – November 2015
  • Emily Carr Public School in Oakville from November 2015 – August 2019
  • Viola Desmond Public School in Milton from September 2019 – December 2019

The accused also worked at Rick Imus Music Studio in Milton around 2008 for one year.  He established his own company, Pitch Perfect Piano Service, in 2012 to tune, regulate and rebuild pianos.  Around 2015 the accused also taught private music lessons to children in their homes.

In order to protect the identity of the victims, police cannot provide further details surrounding the nature of this investigation.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and a photo of the accused is attached to this media release. Robert HOLLAND – Assault

(SAULT STE MARIE, ON) –  On March 5, 2024, shortly after 5 pm, the Sault Ste Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call in Goulais River on Mission Road.

The accused and the victim were engaged in a verbal argument over damage to the victim’s property. Subsequently, this led to the property owner being physically assaulted.

As a result of the investigation, Robert HOLLAND, 64 years-of-age of Sault Ste Marie, was charged with assault.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie on April 8, 2024.

Armed Sexual Assault & Robbery Attempt – Suspect At Large

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are continuing the investigating of an attempted sexual assault and robbery incident involving a firearm in Waterloo.

On February 21, 2024 at approximately 11:45 p.m., a female victim was approached by an unknown male near Albert Street and Hickory Street.

The male took the victim’s personal belongings and attempted to sexually assault her while brandishing a firearm. While the victim fled from the area, the subject discharged a firearm.

There were no physical injuries as a result of the incident.

The subject is described as being a black male, thin build, approximately 5’6”, wearing an orange construction jacket or hoodie.

The subject was driving a white 2012-2017 Hyundai Accent hatchback.

Travis WILLIAMS – Assault

(SIOUX LOOKOUT) – One individual faces assault charges following an incident at a local emergency shelter.

On March 8, 2024, just after 11:00 p.m., members of the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault incident at a local emergency shelter on Fair Street in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout. There were no serious injuries report to police as a result.

As a result, Travis WILLIAMS, 32-years-old, of Eagle Lake First Nation, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Assault – three counts.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout on April 23, 2024.

Cheryl JACKSON – Assault & Theft

(Marmora and Lake, ON) – On the 03rd of March 2024, members of the Central Hastings detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to an address in Marmora regarding a theft and an assault. Officers attended and arrested one individual who was also wanted on outstanding warrants.

As a result of the Investigation, Cheryl JACKSON, 63 years of age from Marmora Ontario has been charged with assault and Theft under $5000.

JACKSON was later released on an undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on the 28th of March 2024.
