Tyler Evans – Assault With Weapon

LONDON, ON (March 13, 2024) – A London man was arrested after members of the London Police Service responded to an assault with a weapon investigation in the city’s downtown core.

At approximately 11 p.m., on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, two men known to each other became involved in an argument at a residence in the area of Horton Street East and Clarence Street.

A female guest attempted to break up the argument. The male suspect then told the male and female to leave before retrieving a can of bear spray.

As the male and female left the residence the male suspect sprayed the bear spray at them causing all of them to become overcome by the substance.

Police were called and a description of the suspect was provided.

Officers located and arrested the suspect outside of the residence.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Tyler Evans, 20, of London, has been charged with assault with a weapon.

The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on April 16, 2024, in relation to the charge.

Another Pedestrian Killed

LONDON, ON (March 13, 2024) – Members of the LPS Traffic Management Unit are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Adelaide Street North.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. this afternoon, emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on the Adelaide Street bridge near King Street. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased.

The involved vehicle remained on scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

The southbound lanes of Adelaide Street North have been closed between Dundas Street and Hamilton Road and will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time as the investigation continues.

Investigators are urging anyone who was in the area between 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. that may have dash-cam or security footage that could assist with the investigation, to contact the London Police Service.

Guelph Police Daily Update 14Mar2024

Break-in to storage containers

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a four-wheeler and other property was stolen from storage containers at an east-end business.

In the evening of March 12, 2024, officers were called to a business on Elizabeth Street. A Milton man who has a storage container on the property attended and found his lock had been cut off. Examination revealed a green 2014 Polaris Sportsman valued at approximately $8,000 was missing, as well as a generator, mountain bike and jewelry box.

A second storage container had also been entered, though the owner of that unit reported just a minor theft. Officers located a large hole which had been cut in a fence surrounding the storage yard.

Break and Enter – Arrest

On January 29, 2024, the Guelph Police Service initiated an investigation into a commercial break and enter. A commercial establishment, located in the south end, had been broken into and several items vandalized. Estimated cost to the victim was $3000.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, three youths were identified as suspects. On the morning of March 13, 2024, two 14-year-old male youths were arrested and charged with break and enter.

Garage Fire

On March 13, 2024, at 4:45pm, the Guelph Police Service and the Guelph Fire Department were called to a north end residence for the report of a fire. A vehicle in a residential garage caught on fire and this spread to the house. The Guelph Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the flames. Damage to the house is described as substantial.

There are no injuries in this incident. This fire is not considered suspicious.

75 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving

(MIDLAND, ON)- A report to the OPP Communications Centre on March 11, 2024 at approximately 2:23 p.m. lead officers to locate a Ford pick-up in the ditch of Old Fort Road near Elliott Side Road, Tay Township. The attending officer from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment spoke with the lone driver then placed the driver under arrest for an impaired driving investigation.

Upon completing the property damage only crash investigation and an investigation into the level of the drivers impairment, Jerry PILON, 75-years of Midland has been charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

And Further with

  • Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

Contrary to the Liquor Licence and Control Act

The accused was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and released to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on March 28, 2024 along with the involved vehicle being towed and impounded for seven days in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Officers conducted 13 separate Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) programs throughout the Detachment patrol area checking 325 drivers for signs of impairment over the March 11-12, 2024 time period.

Do You Recognize This Sexual Assault Suspect?

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

  • the suspect and victim met online through a dating app
  • the suspect used the alias “Ali”
  • on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the suspect forced the victim into the back of a vehicle
  • the suspect sexually assaulted the victim

The man is described as 20-25 years old, 6’0″, with a thin build, short black hair, a moustache and a beard.

Drunk Driver Attacks Partner With Weapon & Keeps Name Out Headlines

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On March 12, 2024, at 9:25 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an address in Kincardine and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation.

Editor’s Note: It is now common knowledge that if you are being arrested for anything and want to remain anonymous, simply assault a loved one and the police will withhold your name. This is how these criminals treat the people they love and are supposed to protect, imagine how they treat people they don’t like. A policy that has lead to a lot of beatings.

As a result of the police investigation, a 36-year-old of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Assault with a weapon – two counts
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Break & Enter
  • Mischief
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing. The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(MORTON, ON) – TheLeeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motorcycle collision where the operator was pronounced deceased on-scene.

Members of the OPP were dispatched to the collision on March 13, 2024, around 4:30 p.m. It occurred at the intersection of Ritz Road, Troy Lake Road and Jones Falls Road – otherwise known as County Road 11 – located just west of Morton.

Lifesaving measures were immediately taken, however the operator of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as a 21-year-old man from the Kingston area.

OPP Collision Reconstructionists and members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Team continue to assist Leeds County OPP officers with the investigation.

The intersection and immediate area will remain closed for several hours to allow for a complete and thorough investigation. If you witnessed the collision, or have relevant dashcam video, contact the Leeds County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Stabbing – 4 Arrested, ADAMS, MCGIVERN, SHAFFER, CHARLEBOIS

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment has charged four people after an assault in downtown Pembroke.

Officers were called to Pembroke Street West around 9:00 p.m. on March 12, 2024, where they located a 25-year-old male with a stab wound and other minor injuries. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, four people have been arrested.

Richard ADAMS, age 38 of Laurentian Valley Township has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Forcible confinement
  • Failure to comply with a prohibition order

Meryl MCGIVERN, age 37 of Pembroke has been charged with:

  • Assault
  • Forcible confinement
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

Jaclyn SHAFFER, age 43 of Killaloe has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle

Jade CHARLEBOIS, age 25 of Laurentian Valley Township has been charged with assault with a weapon.

All four accused have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 15, 2024.

Moosonee Meth Bust – Name Released

(MOOSONEE, ON) – One person was arrested after a traffic stop in Moosonee.

On March 10, 2024, shortly before 8:00 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Ferguson Road in Moosonee.

The driver provided a false name to police and was subsequently arrested.

As a result of this investigation, Miller NAKOGEE, 39-years-of-age of Fort Albany was charged with the following:

  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Driver motor vehicle – no licence
  • Fail to properly wear seat belt
  • Obstruct plate
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 7, 2024 in Moosonee.

Dryden Drunk Driver – KOOSTACHIN

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation. 

On March 13, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Duke Street in the City of Dryden.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden detachment OPP Detachment for further testing.

Autumn KOOSTACHIN, 22-years-old, of Dryden, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Adult operation while impaired by blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Adult operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Adult driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on April 15, 2024.

Another Drunk Driver In Dryden

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation. 

On March 12, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment responded to a call for service of a possible impaired driver at a local restaurant in the City of Dryden.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden detachment OPP Detachment for further testing.

Ayden YELLOWHEAD, 20-years-old, of Thunder Bay, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Adult operation while impaired by blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Adult operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Adult novice driver – B.A.C above zero

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on April 29, 2024.

20 Year Old From Kincardine Arrested

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On March 13, 2024, at 2:20 a.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol checked on a vehicle along Queen Street in Kincardine.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Nolan WILLIAMSON, 20-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with:

Kyle SCOTT Arrested Following Break & Enter

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been arrested in connection with a break and enter.

On Sunday, February 25, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a break-and-enter at an address on Grigg Drive in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that at some point in the evening or early morning, an unidentified individual or individuals attended the location, forcefully entered a storage unit on the premises, and stole a black 2011 Miska flatbed trailer, a white and orange Bobcat MT85 skid-steer loader and video surveillance equipment.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle SCOTT, 37-years-old of Norfolk County has been charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

  • Possession Stolen Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on April 9, 2024.

The trailer and skid-steer have been recovered; however, the investigation is continuing.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Three individuals have been arrested and 15 charges have been laid after a search warrant was executed by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG). This team is comprised of the Thunder Bay Police Service, Nishnawbe Aski Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police.

In January 2024, PGNG commenced an investigation into individuals from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) who were trafficking drugs in the City of Thunder Bay. On March 7, 2024, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Brock Street East in Thunder Bay. PGNG seized:

  • More than 200 grams of fentanyl
  • More than 100 grams of cocaine
  • Nearly 170 grams of crack cocaine
  • One handgun
  • 15 rounds of ammunition
  • Five cell phones
  • More than $5,000 in Canadian currency
  • Drug trafficking paraphernalia

Three people have been charged contrary to theControlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and the Criminal Code (CC).

Crystal ANDERSON, 37 years old of Thunder Bay, and Damien THOMPSON, 29 years old of Scarborough, have been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking, crack cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking, fentanyl, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of proceeds in crime over $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)a CC

A 17-year-old of Brampton has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking, crack cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking, fentanyl, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of proceeds in crime over $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)a CC
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to section 88 CC
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon with ammunition, contrary to section 95(1) CC
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, contrary to section 91(1) CC
  • Carry concealed prohibited device, contrary to section 90 CC
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)a CC

This investigation was supported by the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, Thunder Bay Police Service, and the Thunder Bay OPP Detachment.

All accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on a later date.

173 Kilo Meth Bust

(TORONTO, ON) – Nine accused are facing 44 charges following an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG).

Project CRANIUM began in the fall of 2023, when police learned of two individuals trafficking illicit drugs in the City of Barrie. Further investigation revealed that a sophisticated criminal network was operating out of the Greater Toronto Area, Simcoe County and Durham Region. Illicit drugs were being purchased from a source supplier and trafficked to a mid-level purchaser before being sold to local traffickers throughout Southern Ontario.

On January 21, 2024, the OPP executed 16 search warrants in Toronto; 11 at residences, four on vehicles and one at a storage locker. Seized items include but are not limited to:

  • 173 kilograms of suspected crystal methamphetamine;
  • 56 kilograms of suspected cocaine;
  • 500 grams of suspected fentanyl;
  • two prohibited handguns, one of which was loaded;
  • ammunition;
  • more than $620,000 in Canadian currency;
  • evidence of drug production (e.g. two cocaine presses, etc.); and,
  • four vehicles.

The illicit drugs seized have a potential street value of more than $13 million.

PGNG is a joint forces operation comprised of members from 21 police services. A full list of partners can be found below, under “About PGNG.” Additional supports were provided by the Barrie Police Service, Durham Regional Police Service, Halton Regional Police Service, Toronto Police Service and York Regional Police.
