Lance MCMAHON – Drunk Driving

(GREENSTONE) – A R.I.D.E program has led to one individual being arrested and charged with impaired operation.

On March 8, 2024, just before 10:00 p.m., members of the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E program in the area of Michael Power Boulevard in the Municipality of Greenstone. A driver approached the program and was requested to provide a breath sample.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing. 

As a result, Lance MCMAHON, 36-years-old, of Geraldton, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Liquor Licence and Control Act with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greenstone on April 18, 2024.

Tyler MATHESON – Drunk Driving

(LEDGER TOWNSHIP) – One individual is facing impaired charges following a traffic complaint.

On March 8, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Nipigon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a motor vehicle driving erratically through a construction zone on Highway 11 in Ledger Township. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Nipigon OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Tyler MATHESON, 37-years-old, of Sherwood Park, Alberta, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·        Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Nipigon on April 5, 2024.

Robert AULD – Drunk Driving

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation. 

On March 9, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of the Dryden OPP Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17 in the City of Dryden after observing it to be travelling at a high rate of speed.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden detachment OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Robert AULD, 61-years-old, of Sioux Lookout, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Adult Speeding 1-49km/h over posted limit

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on April 15, 2024.

Nicolas LOPEZ – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with impaired operation after member of public calls in traffic complaint of possible impaired driver.

On March 8, 2024, at 9:17 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Glendon Drive in Middlesex Centre for the report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located on Prince Street in Komoka, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest.

As a result, Nicolas LOPEZ, a 20-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on May 8, 2024.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Lucknow -SCHNEYDERBERG

(LUCKNOW, ON) – On March 8, 2024, at 8:36 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspected impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle along Willoughby Street in Lucknow and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests.

Jeff SCHNEYDERBERG, 48-years-old, from the Township of Huron Kinloss was charged with:

  • Impaired Driving
  • Operate over 80 milligrams

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on April 24, 2024, to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Two More Impaired Drivers Arrested -ENGRAM &GROTTOLO

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two drivers with impaired operation related offences over the weekend.

On March 10, 2024, just after 1:00 a.m., officers from Dufferin OPP conducted a traffic stop on HWY 10 in the Town of Mono. Officers were quickly led into an impaired operation investigation.

Steven ENGRAM, a 37-year-old male, from Mono has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

•      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

On March 10, 2024, just after 6:00 p.m., officers from Dufferin OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Buena Vista Drive in the Town of Orangeville. Officers were able to locate the vehicle in question and were quickly led into an impaired operation investigation.

Paul GROTTOLO, a 44-year-old male, from Alton has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Driving while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded.

Another Anonymous Spouse Beater Caught & Released

(HURON-KINLOSS TWP, ON) – On March 9, 2024, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an address in Huron-Kinloss Township and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old resident of Huron-Kinloss Township has been charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

–      Spousal Assault

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton at a later date. 

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.

2 More Impaired Drivers – ROBERTSON & BROOKS

(LENNOX & ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two drivers with impaired driving over the weekend.

On March 8, 2024, shortly after 3:00 p.m., officers from the L&A County OPP received a report of a person who was believed to be impaired attempting to drive away from a construction site on Oakmont Drive in Bath. Police attended the scene and arrested the driver for impaired driving.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged Dawson ROBERTSON, age 24, of Kingston, with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 2, 2024. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

On March 10, 2024, shortly after 5:00 a.m., officers from the L&A County OPP were dispatched to a collision after receiving a crash notification for Fitchett Road by County Road 9. Police attended the scene and located two people standing on the roadway with minor injuries. The vehicle was in the ditch and had hit some trees. Police arrested the driver for impaired driving.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged Gavin BROOKS, age 18, of Greater Napanee, with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 2, 2024. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jade Therriault – Drunk Driving

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the Rainy River District have arrested and charged one individual with numerous offences after a motorist fled the scene of a traffic stop. 

On March 10, 2024, at approximately 1:27 a.m., OPP officers were conducting general patrol duties on Highway 71 in Chapple when a vehicle was observed going approximately 160 kilometers an hour in a posted 90 kilometer an hour zone. The accused attempted to evade police by parking the vehicle and leaving the scene on foot. Officers located the occupant of the vehicle after a brief search of the area.

As a result of the investigation, Jade Therriault, 24-years-old, of Thunder Bay, ON has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The accused has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt, Drive Without Proper Rear Light – Motor Vehicle, and Drive Motor Vehicle – No Currently Validated Permit.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was issued.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 15, 2024.

25 Year Old Arrested For Being Intoxicated

(HURON TWP, ON) – On March 9, 2024, at 9:22 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a disturbance along Blair’s Trail in Huron Township.

Officers responded and located an intoxicated individual at the scene.

They were taken into custody without incident.

A 25-year-old Township of Arran-Elderslie resident was charged with:

  • Being intoxicated in a public place
  • Open liquor in authorized place

Fatal Collision

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Two vehicle collision in Middlesex Centre leaves one involved occupant deceased and three others with serious injuries.

On March 10, 2024, at 7:57 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and Middlesex Centre Fire, were dispatched to Highbury Avenue North in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a serious collision involving two vehicles.

As a result, three individuals were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

One individual, an 85-year-old of London, died as a result of the collision.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team was on scene to assist with the investigation.

The roadway remained closed for the investigation between Plover Mills and Ilderton Road for approximately 4 hours few hours.

The investigation is continuing.

Kayla BROHM – Drunk Driving

(CHARLTON-DACK, ON) – The Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.

On March 9, 2024, shortly before 1:30 p.m., members of the Temiskaming OPP came upon a motor vehicle in the ditch on Highway 560 in the Township of Charlton-Dack. Through investigation, police determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The driver was arrested and transported to the Temiskaming Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Kayla BROHM, 23 years-of-age of Armstrong Township was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 26, 2024. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

(TEMISKAMING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person in connection with an on-going investigation in Temiskaming.

Awad KHAN, 23 years-old, of Hamilton has been arrested and charged with 16 Criminal Code offences:

  • Attempt to commit murder using firearm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Resist peace officer
  • Discharge firearm with intent
  • Assault peace officer
  • Firearm – use while committing offence
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

Sharleen COLLINS – Drunk Driving

(HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation.

On March 9, 2024, shortly before 1:50 a.m., Northumberland OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check on Division Street, Hamilton Township. A pick-up truck approached and initially failed to stop for police. The vehicle then stopped for OPP and the individual provided a sample of breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD). As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to a detachment for further testing.

Sharleen COLLINS, 45-years-old from Port Perry, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

$41,000 Meth Bust – Major TAKHAR Arrested

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Brant-Oxford CSCU, West Region Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, and the Tactics and Rescue Unit, executed a search warrant following a drug trafficking investigation in Kitchener. 

Major TAKHAR, a 67-year-old resident of Cambridge, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Opioid (other than Heroin)

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine

Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

The total estimated value of seized drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and psilocybin is approximately $41,000.00.

The total estimated value of seized property is $1,800.00.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kitchener on April 19, 2024, to answer to the charges.
