19 Year Old From Central Huron Scammed – Handed Over Bank Cards

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a recent scam that took advantage of a Huron County teenager.

A 19-year-old Central Huron teen received a phone call on August 5th, 2025, from someone stating that they worked at the teen’s banking institution and needed to send someone to pick up her bank cards as they had been compromised. A male individual arrived by car at the victim’s house and took her cards. The victim later discovered that $5,000 had been stolen from the victim’s accounts.

Police are still investigating the fraud and are asking the public to come forward if they have any information that may assist the police.

“This is a good time to remind everyone to never provide your PIN (password) digits to anyone. Banks will never attend your home to pick up debit or credit cards”, says Provincial Constable Craig Soldan of the Huron OPP.

Eldon WOOD From ACW Arrested

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh (ACW) Township resident with multiple criminal driving offences following a single-vehicle collision in ACW Twp, on August 02, 2025. 

Just after 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, August 02, 2025, Huron County OPP officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision involving a dirt bike on Berry Avenue in ACW Twp. The driver was located nearby with minor injuries. Police arrested the driver for impaired operation and dangerous driving and also discovered that they were prohibited from driving a motor vehicle. Police discovered that the accused had been operating a second motor vehicle after consuming alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged as follows:

Eldon WOOD, 24 years-of-age from ACW Twp has been charged with:

–      Dangerous Operation – (two counts),

–      Impaired Operation – Alcohol and Drug – (two counts),

–      Impaired Operation – Over 80 (two counts),

–      Operation while Prohibited – (two counts).

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 15, 2025.

43 Year Old From Goderich Arrested – Details Released

(GODERICH, ON) – On July 31st, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Town of Goderich.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner.

A 43-year-old individual from Goderich was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault with a Weapon – Spousal,

–      Mischief – Domestic,

–      Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition.

The accused was processed and later released with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 8th, 2025.

Mildmay Repeat Offender Arrested Again – Name Released #3Strikes

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On August 27, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of overnight break and enters to two adjacent business properties along Highway 9 in Mildmay, Municipality of South Bruce.

Police attended the locations and observed damages caused by the break-in and took inventory of items which were stolen. Shortly after police departed, an individual attended the location wearing items which were stolen from the break-in. Police were again contacted, reattended and took this individual into custody.

Elias LUEDKE, 21-years-old, resident of Mildmay, was charged with:

  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence, CC 348(1)(b) – two counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime, CC 354(1)(a)
  • Fail to comply with probation, CC 733.1(1)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on October 1, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Joshua DEVLIN Arrested For “Threatening” Police

(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY TWP., ON) – An individual has been arrested for making threats toward police officers.

The investigation began on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, when it was reported to the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) that threats had been made toward OPP members.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, as a result of the investigation, Lanark County OPP officers, assisted by members of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, executed an arrest warrant at a residence on Munlaren Road in Drummond-North Elmsley Township. One person was arrested.

Joshua DEVLIN, age 40, has been charged with:

  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Failing to comply with a probation order

The accused was remanded in custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

James TUPPER Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – Two individuals were arrested following a traffic stop in Haldimand County.

On August 27, 2025, at approximately 1:40 p.m., members of the Haldimand Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) along with the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad conducted a traffic stop on Lilac Circle, Caledonia.

The driver was identified as an individual who was wanted on outstanding warrants and subsequently taken into custody.

Further investigation determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen, and as a result, the passenger was also taken into custody.

A quantity of illicit drugs, Canadian currency and the vehicle was seized.

James TUPPER, 47-years-old of Caledonia has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code (five counts)

Jeniene GUIGUE, 37-years-old of Caledonia has been charged with the following offence: Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 7, 2025.

Igor SUHYH – Drunk Driving

(CHATHAM KENT, ON) – Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired operation on Highway 401.

On Thursday, August 28, 2025, at approximately 10:25 p.m., police responded to a traffic complaint regarding a commercial motor vehicle on Highway 401 in the Municipality of Chatham Kent.

As a result of the investigation, Igor SUHYH a 39-year-old from Toronto was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act) and,
  • Drive motor vehicle, not in accordance with permit limitations (Highway Traffic Act)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Public Safety Warning: Renfrew Rapist At Large – Armed And Dangerous

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious assault in Renfrew.

On Thursday, August 28, 2025, a woman attended a local hospital and reported that she had been held against her will and sexually assaulted at a motel on Stewart Street. The woman also indicated the male, who is known to her, was in possession of a handgun.

The male had already left the motel but was later spotted walking in the area. Officers attempted the take him into custody, but the male fled onto the Algonquin Trail.

Additional officers, including members of the Renfrew Detachment, the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit and the Tactics and Rescue Unit converged on the area to expand the search.

While there was believed to be no threat to the general public, a shelter in place was issued just after 9:00 p.m. for the area, out of an abundance of caution.

The extensive search continued throughout the evening, but it appeared the male had managed to flee from the area. The shelter in place was lifted shortly before 1:00 a.m.

The male has been identified, and an arrest warrant is being sought. The male is described as Black, 5’9″ to 6′ (175-183 cm) tall, with hair on the top of his head and the sides are shaved. He has a goatee and a five-star tattoo above his left eyebrow and another tattoo under his left eye. He was last seen wearing a purple plaid jacket, and possibly black shorts and a blue shirt.

If you see this individual or see any suspicious activity in the area, call 9-1-1 immediately. Do not approach. This male is urged to contact the Renfrew OPP to turn himself in.

Kincardine Resident Scammed Out Of $95,000

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On August 26, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in the Municipality of Kincardine, where an individual reported being victim of a fraud.

Investigation revealed that over the past few months, the victim made a series of transactions amounting to approximately $95,000 through a cryptocurrency trading website. The victim conversed with an individual on numerous occasions to facilitate the transactions, requesting more money be sent each time. Once they attempted to withdraw funds and were unable to, a report was made to police.

The investigation has been passed over to the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit.

We urge residents to be cautious when engaging in digital currency transactions and investments.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(BANCROFT, ON) – A search warrant in Bancroft has resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and the arrest of three people.

Earlier this summer, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit began an investigation into drug trafficking in the area.

On Thursday, August 28, 2025, officers with the Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by members of the Bancroft Detachment and the OPP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Hastings Street.

They seized over 13 grams of suspected fentanyl, over six grams of suspected cocaine and approximately one gram of suspected crystal methamphetamine, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking. Three people were arrested.

Kyle DEXTER, age 37 of Lake St. Peter and Chantel KING, age 44 of Bancroft, have been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

Liam MACKAY-REDDY, age 27 of Highland Grove, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Failing to comply with a probation order – two counts

The accused were all held in custody with bail hearings scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Friday, August 29, 2025.

Moose Vs Motorcylist

(LAURENTIAN HILLS TWP., ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a a collision on highway #17 between Petawawa and Chalk River that forced the highway shut down in both directions.

A motorcyclist collided with a moose. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital and Ornge airlifted the injured party to a local Ottawa hospital. The highway has now reopened in both directions.

Cat Fatally Shot – Marisa MARINI & Danilo REBULI Arrested

NEW TECUMSETH )- Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals following a weapons investigation that began earlier this month.

On August 17, 2025, shortly after 11:00 a.m., officers responded to a report from a resident in New Tecumseth regarding an injured pet. The complainant advised that their cat had been shot with what was believed to be a BB gun. Tragically, the animal later succumbed to its injuries.

As part of the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on 4th Line in New Tecumseth on August 27, 2025, shortly after 7:00 p.m. During the search, police located and seized several improperly stored firearms, including:

  • A bolt-action Sure Shot Repeater (.22 calibre)
  • A Stevens Model Gold Wing 512 (20 gauge)
  • A Remington Game Master Model 760 (.308 calibre)
  • Two rifle-style airsoft pellet guns
  • One pistol-style airsoft gun
  • Ammunition for all listed firearms

As a result of the investigation:

Marisa MARINI, 71 years old, of New Tecumseth, was arrested and charged with:

  • Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition – Three Counts

Danilo REBULI, 73 years old, of New Tecumseth, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Cruelty to Animals – Unnecessary Pain, Suffering or Injury

Both accused parties have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on October 9, 2025.

Drug Bust – Laura THOMPSON

(CARLETON PLACE, ON) – A search warrant in Carleton Place has resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and one arrest.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit began an investigation earlier this summer into alleged trafficking of cocaine in the area.

This investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at a residence on Townline Road East. The search, by members of the Community Street Crime Unit, the Lanark County Detachment and OPP Canine Unit, located nearly seven grams of suspected crack cocaine and a number of suspected methamphetamine pills, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Laura THOMPSON, age 56 of Lanark Highlands has been charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on September 29, 2025.

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers were conducting an investigation into a single vehicle collision on D J Whites Road, where an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Darryl SUTTON, age 54, from Brighton, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 25, 2025. Additionally, the vehicle that was operated was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.

56 Year Old Arrested In South Bruce – REED

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On August 24, 2025, at approximately 11:22 a.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team stopped to check a vehicle along Bruce Road 6, Municipality of South Bruce.

A roadside screening device was administered, resulting in a fail. The driver was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the South Bruce OPP detachment for further testing.

Robert REED, 56-years-old, resident of Flesherton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80+, CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on September 10, 2025, to answer to the charge.
