Thomas SHIPMAN – Impaired Driving

(WALPOLE ISLAND FIRST NATION, ON) – An individual has been charged with impaired driving following a traffic stop.

On August 25, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., while conducting general patrol, a member of the Walpole Island Police Service observed a suspicious vehicle on Old Ferry Road, Walpole Island First Nation, where a traffic stop was subsequently initiated.  

The accused was taken into custody and transported to Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) for further testing. 

As a result of the investigation, Thomas SHIPMAN, 62-year-old of Walpole Island First Nation, was charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walpole Island First Nation on September 11, 2025.

Circle K Armed Robbery – Matthew Black

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested one individual in relation to the armed robbery in Huntsville.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at approximately 1:55 a.m., Huntsville OPP responded to a report of a robbery at the Circle K convenience store on Main Street in the Town of Huntsville. The suspect entered the store and demanded the employee empty the register into a plastic bag while brandishing a hunting style knife from his pant pocket. 

As a result of the investigation, the OPP has arrested and charged Matthew Black, 25, of the Town of Huntsville with:

·      Armed Robbery

·      Assault with a Weapon

·      Disguise with Intent

The accused was arrested on August 26th, 2025, and was held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.  

The Huntsville OPP would like to thank the public with their assistance with this investigation.

Pit Bulls Attack Senior And Kill Dog – Carry Bear/Coyote Spray At All Times

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Police are investigating an incident involving a dog attack that resulted in the death of a pet and injuries to a resident.

On August 26, 2025, at approximately 7:54 p.m., members of the Oneida Nation Police Service, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and Oneida Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of an animal complaint on Bodkin Road, Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.

The investigation determined that an individual was walking their dog when two unleashed pit bulls, not restrained and without their owner present, attacked. The individual was able to retreat to their residence and contact police.

Police attended the area and located the two pit bulls. During the response, one of the dogs charged at police, prompting the officer to discharge their firearm to ensure public and officer safety.

The victim, a 71-year-old resident of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim’s dog died as a result of the attack.

Police are reminding all pet owners to ensure dogs are always leashed or properly contained to prevent dangerous encounters. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Middlesex County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.

The investigation is continuing.

Attempted Murder – Jason FLUKE Facing Numerous Charges

(MARMORA & LAKE TWP., ON) – Attempted murder and other charges have been laid following a firearms-related incident in Marmora and Lake Township.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, just after 1:00 p.m., an individual reported that shots had been fired at a home on High Shore Road, near Highway 7. No serious injuries were reported.

Officers with the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), as well as members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit converged on the scene.

An individual was located less than an hour later and was arrested without further incident.

As a result of the investigation, which included members of the Central Hastings OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services, Jason FLUKE, age 46 of Marmora and Lake, has been charged with:

  • Attempt to commit murder
  • Discharge a firearm with intent
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Using a firearm while committing an offence
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Forcible entry
  • Break and enter
  • Theft under $5000
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property

The accused was held in custody with a bail hearing scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Jonathan WALL – Impaired Driving

 (TILLSONBURG, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment arrested an impaired All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) operator, while on general patrol.

On August 25, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., members of Oxford OPP initiated a traffic stop on Lisgar Avenue in the Town of Tillsonburg.

As a result of the investigation, Jonathan WALL, a 23-year-old resident of Tillsonburg, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on October 14, 2025.

Impaired driving means operating any vehicle while your ability to do so has been compromised by consuming alcohol, drugs or a combination. Impaired driving laws also apply to those operating boats, snowmobiles, off-road vehicles, aircraft and railway equipment.

Jeremy OVERBEEK – Drunk Driving

 (TILLSONBURG, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment detected an impaired driver while on general patrol.

On August 24, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of Oxford OPP initiated a traffic stop on Concession Street in the Town of Tillsonburg.

As a result of the investigation, Jeremy OVERBEEK, a 24-year-old resident of Tillsonburg, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on October 7, 2025.

Keegan DAY Was Arrested

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has made an arrest following an early-morning call.

On August 27, 2025, at approximately 3:45 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Jacques Street in the Town of Blind River after the homeowners reported finding an unknown individual sleeping on their couch.

Police arrived a short time later and arrested the individual, who was known to them. The person was transported to the Blind River detachment and lodged until sober.

Keegan DAY, 34 years old from Blind River was charged with: Unlawfully in dwelling house.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on November 6, 2025.

Erik BOUILLON Was Arrested

(MISSISSAUGA FIRST NATION, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) execute a warrant to enter a dwelling house.

On Tuesday August 26, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the East Algoma OPP with the assistance from Mississauga First Nation Police Service attended a residence on Highway 17 in the community of Mississauga First Nation and arrested an individual that had two outstanding OPP warrants and one from another province. 

The individual Erik BOUILLON, 38 years old from Blind River was also found to be trespassing on Mississauga First Nation and was charged with:

·      Trespassing- contrary to the Mississauga First Nation Community Protection Law

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing related to the outstanding arrest warrants.

William CONCANNON Was Arrested Again

(BILLINGS TOWNSHIP, ON)- The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) execute a warrant in Billings Township.

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, members of the Manitoulin OPP responded to a complaint where a person was breaching their conditions on Main Street in Billings Township.

On Tuesday August 26, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Manitoulin OPP Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Highway 540 in Billings Township.

As a result of the investigation, William CONCANNON, 58-years-old from Gore Bay was arrested and charged:

  • Breach of recognizance – two counts
  • Criminal harassment

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Decon WATERSON – Impaired Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County and Quinte West Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged a vessel operator with impaired driving.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, around 4:30 p.m., officers were conducting marine patrols on West Lake in Prince Edward County. Officers stopped a vessel and spoke to the occupants. During the interaction, officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver. As a result, the male was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Decon WATERSON, age 42 from Prince Edward County, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure or refusal to comply with a demand
  • Operating boat underway with open container of liquor
  • Operating pleasure craft without transferring licence – new owner

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days. They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 17, 2025.

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged two drivers with impaired driving while conducting proactive traffic enforcement.

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, around 12:00 a.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program in Picton when a motorist attempted to evade the RIDE program. Officers located the vehicle and spoke to the driver. During the interaction, officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver. As a result, the male was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Corbin ROGERS, age 35 from Picton, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive motor vehicle – no plates
  • Drive motor vehicle – improper licence
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Fail to notify change of address
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes

On Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 3:45 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation. During the interaction, officers suspected that the driver was impaired and utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device. As a result, the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Cassandre CHERRAT, age 26 of Montreal, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Disobey stop sign

Both individuals had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles impounded for seven days. They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 17, 2025.

5 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in five more impaired driving investigations.

On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., a traffic stop on Frankford Road led to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired as well as other offences. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

William BERTRAND, age 53, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Careless driving

On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to an incident on Bay Street, leading to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Kevin ROSA, age 48, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driver fail to surrender licence
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP, responded to a traffic complaint on the 401 Westbound leading to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing.

Baljinder GILL, age 46, from Brampton was charged with the following offences:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous operation
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

On Monday, August 25, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP, conducted a RIDE program at the 401 Eastbound On Route resulting in the arrest of a driver for being impaired.

Terry SINCLAIR, age 42, from Kingston, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – Methamphetamine
  • Operation while impaired – combined blood alcohol and blood drug concentration
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes
  • Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
  • Class G1 licence holder – drive on prohibited highway
  • Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour

On Monday, August 25, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP, investigated a single vehicle collision on the 401 Eastbound, leading to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized, resulting in the arrest of a driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Mackenzie RIPLEY, age 21, from Cobourg was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

All the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on a later date. Additionally, the vehicles they were operating were impounded for seven days, and their licences suspended for 90 days.

Daniel MCCHLERY From Wingham Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On August 24, 2025, at approximately 4:17 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle parked in a live lane of traffic along Bruce Road 4, Municipality of South Bruce.

Officers attended the location and found the vehicle parked in the southbound lane with no lights on. After conversing with the driver, police detected signs of impairment. The driver was taken into custody and taken to a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer for further testing.

Daniel MCCHLERY, 34-years-old, resident of Wingham, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on October 22, 2025, to answer to the charge.

Impaired Drivers: WATERHOUSE, FINLEY, BAGSHAW, WALSH & ALBERT

(PEMBROKE, ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged five drivers with impaired related charges within a span of five days.

On August 20, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m., OPP received a traffic complaint on Highway 60 in North Algona-Wilberforce Township. The vehicle was located a short time after. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

John WATERHOUSE, 29 years old, of Dundas was charged with impaired operation.

Then on August 22, 2025, just before 2:00 p.m., OPP received a traffic complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 60 in South Algonquin Township. The vehicle was reported to be all over the road and stopped at the Algonquin visitor center. Police attended and spoke to the driver.

Alexandra FINLEY, 49 years old, from Whitewater Region Township was charged with impaired operation, refusal to provide a sample as well as dangerous operation.

Later, on August 23, 2025, just before 11:30 p.m., OPP received information regarding a vehicle in the ditch in Laurentian Valley Township. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.  

Maxmillian BAGSHAW, 45 years old, of Pincourt was charged with impaired operation.

On August 24, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m., OPP stopped a driver for speeding on Murphy Road in the Town of Petawawa. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was then transported to the detachment for further testing.

Lynden WALSH, 30 years old, of Petawawa was charged with impaired operation as well as speeding.

Again, on August 24, 2025, just after 11:30 p.m., OPP responded to a report of a vehicle stopped in a live lane of traffic on Highway 60 in Madawaska Valley Township. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing to be conducted.

Luke ALBERT, 20 years old, of Killaloe was charged with impaired operation.

Each of the accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.

One Dead – Nantharagu SANGARAMOORTHY Arrested

(NORTH STORMONT TWP., ON) – One person has now been charged in connection with a fatal collision on Highway 138 in North Stormont Township.

Officers with the Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene the morning of Saturday, March 29, 2025. A car and two tractor trailers had collided between McNeil Road and Mclean Road.

A 33-year-old woman from Maxville, the driver of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As a result of the investigation by SD&G OPP, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and members of the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team, a charge has now been laid against one of the other drivers involving in the collision.

Nantharagu SANGARAMOORTHY, age 50 of Ajax, has been charged with careless driving causing death.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 23, 2025.
