Masked Gang Assaults School Faculty Member – #MasksR4Criminals

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police has arrested and charged a youth for assault with a weapon at a public school in the city of Kitchener.

On December 19, 2024 a group of youths all wearing face mask entered the school and was asked to leave by faculty. One of the youths grabbed a fire extinguisher from the same facility and discharged it towards the faculty member. The youths then left the school immediately after.

There are no reports of any physical injuries. 

The same group of youths went to a plaza in the area of Westmount Road East and Laurentian Drive. The group began yelling racial slurs at bystanders and assaulted a business owner as they were stealing merchandise. The youths then continued to another business where they caused minor property damage.

Police were able to locate and arrest one youth from this group and charged them with a number of Criminal Code offences and breaches.

Police are still actively seeking to identify the other youths involved in these incidents.

Armed Home Invasion – Suspects At Large #TCB

Several suspects are being sought after an armed break-and-enter at a residence in Ajax.

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, at approximately 8:50 p.m., members of West Division responded to an armed break-an-enter at a residence in the area of Rossland Road East and Lloydminster Avenue.  Witnesses reported that several males armed with handguns broke into a residence and we’re seen leaving with numerous valuables.  The suspects fled the area in a white SUV and black sedan, prior to police arrival.  The residence was unoccupied at the time of the break-and-enter, and no physical injuries have been reported to police.

Shots Fired

Police are appealing for witnesses after a late-night shooting on Thursday in Ajax.

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of West Division responded to the area of Wilsongary Circle and Gavin Lane for reports of gunshots.

Officers arrived on scene and located multiple shell casings in the area. One residence has been located with bullet holes. 

There have been no physical injuries reported at this time. 

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with video footage to please contact police.

Guelph Police Daily Update 20Dec2024

Female Arrested After Residential Break In

On December 19th, 2024, at 10:49am, the Guelph Police Service received a report of a break and enter in progress at a residence located near the intersection of Downey Road and Hanlon Parkway in the City of Guelph.

An adult female attempted to enter the front door of the residence. Once unsuccessful, she then broke into a shed attached to the back of the residence.

At 11:12am, police located the female hiding a short distance away and she was subsequently arrested.

A search incident to arrest revealed various pieces of property stolen from the shed including a plastic ground sprinkler head, fuel stabilizer solution and landscaping fabric.

Further investigation revealed that the female had damaged various pieces of property around the outside of the residence including an underground water sprinkler irrigation system, gas meter and eaves trough.

A 36-year-old Guelph female has been charged with:
-Break, Enter Dwelling House With Intent To Commit Indictable Offence
-Mischief Under $5,000
-Theft Under $5,000

She will appear in court on January 28th, 2025.

Roommate Altercation Results In Arrest

On December 19th, 2024, an adult male engaged in a disagreement over text messages with his adult female roommate while they were inside their residence located near the intersection of Kortright Road West and Edinburgh Road South in the City of Guelph.

The male was displeased with how the female takes care of her cat.

At 10pm, the female was in the kitchen doing dishes, when the male walked in and spit water in her face. A verbal argument ensued, and other roommates attended the kitchen to intervene.

The Guelph Police Service was then contacted.

Once police were on scene, the male was subsequently arrested.

A 40-year-old Guelph male has been charged with Assault.

He will appear in court on February 4th, 2025.

Male Facing Numerous Charges After Collision

On December 19th, 2024, at 11:35pm, an adult male was driving a motor vehicle near the intersection of Downey Road and Niska Road in the City of Guelph.

After driving past the entrance to his residential driveway, he stopped in the middle of roadway, and began reversing, ultimately striking a motor vehicle behind him, and causing significant damage to the front bumper.

He then drove away, and the Guelph Police Service was contacted.

After driving around the area streets for several minutes, the male returned to his residential driveway, parked the vehicle, and entered the residence.

At 11:47pm, police spoke with the male outside his residence. Police then attempted to arrest the male, and a struggle ensued with the male initially resisting. He was ultimately restrained and arrested.

A 68-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Operation While Impaired
-Operation While Impaired – 80 Plus
-Fail To Stop After Accident
-Assault Police With Intent To Resist Arrest

He will appear in court on February 4th, 2025.

Please note the involved officer attended to the Guelph General Hospital where he was diagnosed with a sprained thumb and minor lacerations to his head. He was treated and released.

Pervert Alert – “Man” Arrested For Filming Females In Public Washroom

(Ottawa) — During the evening of December 14, 2024, the Ottawa Police Service responded to a business located in the 1-100 block of Elgin Street for reports of a man filming females inside the public washroom.

An arrest was made; however, there is a concern that there may be further victims who have not yet been identified by police.

Another Pedestrian Struck

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, at approximately 9:22 p.m., police responded to a Personal Injury Collision in the Lawrence Avenue East and Don Mills Road area.

It is alleged that;

  • a 34-year-old female was operating a silver Toyota sedan westbound on Lawrence Avenue East
  • a 50-year-old male pedestrian was crossing from the south side to the north side on the west crosswalk on Lawrence Avenue East
  • the driver of the Toyota Sedan struck the pedestrian
  • the male pedestrian was transported to a local trauma centre in life-threatening condition
  • the driver of the Toyota remained at the scene

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

Ronald SUTHERLAND Facing Numerous Charges

(COCHRANE, ON) – The James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the public’s assistance have identified and arrested one person in a debit card fraud investigation in Cochrane.

On November 3, 2024, the James Bay OPP responded to a report of a stolen debit card, that was subsequently used to make $1000 worth of purchases at eight different businesses in the Town of Cochrane. The 19 transactions took place on November 1 and 2, 2024.

On December 13, 2024, the James Bay OPP responded to a call for service on Highway 11 West in Cochrane. Police located one person in relation to the call, who initially provided a false name to police.

As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old Ronald SUTHERLAND was arrested and charged with:

·        Obstruct peace officer

·        Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

·        Use of credit card obtained by the commission of an offence – 19 counts

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on January 28, 2025.

Shots Fired – 2 Arrested

(WALPOLE ISLAND) – Two people are facing charges following an incident on Walpole Island First Nation.

The investigation began on December 19, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., when members of Walpole Island First Nation Police (WIFNP) and the Lambton Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of gunfire during an altercation at an address on River Road. 

Police took two individuals into custody without incident.

There were no injuries.

Colton ALTIMAN, 29-years-old of Walpole Island First Nation, is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

 Jesse WILLIAMS, 35-years-old of Walpole Island First Nation, is charged with the following offences:

  • Careless Use of a Firearm -Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code
  • Reckless Discharge of a Firearm – Section 244.2(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code

Both individuals remain in custody and will appear in bail court at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on December 24, 2024.

(PAPINEAU-CAMERON TOWNSHIP, ON) – The North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Shawn MILLER, who is wanted for 19 criminal offences following an ongoing investigation in Papineau-Cameron Township.

MILLER is described as a white male, 51-years-old, 5’5″ (165cm), 146 lbs (66kg), medium-length brown hair, brown eyes, and is wanted for the following offences:

·        Pointing a firearm

·        Reckless discharge of a firearm

·        Possess firearm contrary to prohibition order – three counts

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

·        Careless storage of firearm

·        Assault with a weapon – spousal

·        Assault – spousal – two counts

·        Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – spousal

·        Uttering threats – damage or injure animal

·        Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

·        Failure to comply with release order – two counts

·        Fail to comply with probation order

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

51 Year Old From Meaford Arrested – Details Released

(The BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON) – On December 19, 2024, just after 8:00 pm, members of Collingwood/Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a single motor in the ditch and stuck in a snowbank near Camperdown Road and Highway 26. As a result of that investigation, the driver failed an Alcohol Screening Device.

51-year-old Melissa Carway of Meaford, ON was subsequently arrested and charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days and the accused is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 16th, 2025.

Drug Bust – PERRIN Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – On December 19, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Lambton CSCU executed a search warrant at a residence in the Municipality of West Elgin.

As a result of the executed search warrant, police seized quantities of suspected narcotics including fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and psilocybin. Police also seized a quantity of other property including a cellular phone and a prohibited weapon.

The OPP has charged Sally PERRIN, a 62-year-old from West Elgin with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (Other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

Additionally, the OPP has charged James PERRIN, a 45-year-old from West Elgin with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

The accused individuals have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on February 10, 2025.

WATSON – Drug Trafficking

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in connection to a drug trafficking investigation.

In December 2024, the Caledon OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) entered into a drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Caledon. With the assistance of CSCUs from Dufferin, City of Kawartha Lakes, and the OPP Central Region Canine Unit, the investigation led officers to execute a search warrant at a residence in Brampton and a vehicle. Cocaine, Oxycodone, currency, and other property were seized.

As a result, Dwight WATSON, 62, of Brampton, was charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other drugs

• Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000

• Traffick in Schedule I substance – Cocaine

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on January 6, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Brett OTTAWAY – Trafficking, Meth

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On December 17, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Controlled Dugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant at a residence on Farrell Crescent in Elliot Lake.

As a result of the warrant being executed, approximately 510 grams of suspected cocaine, almost 160 grams of suspected Fentanyl, approximately 1.4 grams Methamphetamine, digital scales, packaging materials, and numerous cell phones were seized. 

The OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit, and uniform members were involved with the investigation.         

Brett OTTAWAY, 27-years-old, of Toronto was charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine

·      Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was also wanted by Toronto Police Service for three counts of failing to comply with release order. He was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Sault Ste. Marie on December 19, 2024.

Edgar MARSHALL Was Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – Police have charged an individual with an additional criminal charge following an ongoing investigation in West Elgin.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Edgar MARSHALL, 27-years-old of London, has been further charged under section 236 (b) of the Criminal Code with Manslaughter.

The accused was remanded into custody on August 23, 2024, on previous charges. This individual remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on December 27, 2024.

The investigation began on August 23, 2024, after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the Municipality of West Elgin by the Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Elgin County OPP Crime Unit with assistance from the OPP West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, and Emergency Response Team.

A publication ban has been issued and further information will not be released.

The investigation continues under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Guelph Police Daily Update 19Dec2024

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of a Homicide investigation.

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, at approximately 12:13 a.m., police responded to a call for a Shooting that occurred at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Markham Road.

It is reported that:

  • the victim was walking in the area when he was shot by suspect(s) that were travelling in a vehicle
  • officers arrived on scene and located the male victim who had been shot
  • life-saving measures were performed, and the victim was transported to hospital by paramedics
  • the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital

The victim has been identified as Adam Christopher Moncrieffe, 34, of Toronto.
