Austin STEWART Was Arrested

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – A traffic stop by the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in impaired driving charges.

On January 2, 2025, at approximately 12:45 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Kolb Avenue in Kapuskasing which was observed travelling with an obstructed licence plate. During the interaction with the driver, officers determined the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the Kapuskasing OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Austin STEWART, 25 years of age of Opasatika, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·        Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 17, 2025, in Kapuskasing. In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).

PELLETIER Was Arrested

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – A traffic stop conducted by the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in impaired driving charges.

On January 5, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Stewart Avenue in Kapuskasing after observing it travelling a high rate of speed. Upon further investigation, officers determined the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the Kapuskasing OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Mathieu PELLETIER, 32 years of age of Kapuskasing, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 17, 2025, in Kapuskasing. In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

5 Arrested At Traffic Stop – Meth A Factory, Names Released

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – A traffic stop conducted by the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has led to impaired driving charges, as well as drug-related charges for all five vehicle occupants.

On January 4, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Riverside Drive in Kapuskasing. During their interaction with the driver, officers observed a bag of a substance suspected to be cocaine. The driver was determined to have had consumed an intoxicating substance and was arrested and transported to the Kapuskasing OPP detachment for further testing. Further investigation revealed additional suspected controlled substances, leading to the arrest of four passengers. Police seized drugs suspected to be crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, crack cocaine, dilaudid, and morphine, as well as cell phones, scales, and two switch blades.

As a result, Steve CHARTRAND, 49 years of age of Hearst, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

·        Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from a bail hearing on January 6, 2025, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in Kapuskasing. In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Further, Dakota BEDWASH, 31 years of age of Constance Lake, has been charged with:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

·        Fail to comply with probation order

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts

·        Obstruct peace officer

The above accused remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in Kapuskasing.

Further, Albert MOORE, 47 years of age of Constance Lake, has been charged with:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

The above accused was released from a bail hearing on January 6, 2025, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in Kapuskasing.

Further, Terrance SUTHERLAND, 34 years of age of Constance Lake, has been charged with:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

The above accused remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in Kapuskasing.

Further, Trisha WESLEY, 38 years of age of Hearst, has been charged with:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

·        Fail to comply with a release order

The above accused remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in Kapuskasing.

Teen Charged After Truck Stolen & Stopped With Spike Belt- Name Released

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Mississauga resident with several offences following a truck theft on January 04, 2025, in the Town of Goderich. 

Just after 6:20 a.m., on Saturday, January 04, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by a vehicle owner who reported their 2024 Toyota Tundra pickup truck had just been stolen from their laneway on South Street in Goderich.

Officers observed the stolen truck travelling eastbound on Huron Road and set up tire deflation devices (TDD) which were successfully deployed, deflating the front tires of the truck.

The driver was arrested without incident and charged as follows:

Joseph SHEPHERD, 19 years of age from Mississauga has been charged with:

–      Theft Over $5,000,

–      Flight From Peace Officer,

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) including failing to stop for stop sign and driving without a licence.

The accused was processed and held in custody for a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, where they were remanded into custody.

Collision Claims Life Of Bluewater Resident

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A collision involving a snowmobile in the Municipality of Bluewater has claimed the life of a Bluewater resident. 

Just before 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 08, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County Paramedic Services, and Bluewater Fire Department responded to a collision near Mill Road just west of Brucefield.

Upon arrival, emergency services located the involved snowmobile and lone operator in a farm field just south of Mill Road. The snowmobile operator was transported by Paramedics to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.

The deceased is a 58-year-old resident of Bluewater. 

The cause of the collision is being investigated. Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team are at the scene to assist with the collision investigation. Mill Road is currently closed between London Road and Airport Line for the investigation and will remain closed for several hours.

Do You Recognize This Fraud Suspects?

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON.) – Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a fraud and are requesting the public’s assistance to identify three individuals involved.

On January 5, 2025, between the hours of 2:00-3:00 p.m. Nottawasaga OPP responded to two fraud incidents at the CIBC bank located at 35 Young Street, in Alliston where the victim lost $1600 and the CIBC bank located at 55 Queen Street South in Tottenham, where the victim lost $3800.

Video surveillance shows that the victims appear to be completing their transactions at an ATM, going to leave the premises and are then called back by the suspect a which time, they tell he victim that their transaction hasn’t completed and therefore they can’t use the ATM. The suspect will attempt to demonstrate the problem to the victim by putting an unidentified card in the machine that then shows an error. The suspects then physically take the card out of the victim’s hand, puts it partially into the ATM, hits cancel and then hands them back what they think is their card but in reality is someone else’s, or possibly a fake card.

The genuine card is then used to withdraw funds from the victim’s bank account and, in the case of the occurrence in Tottenham, the card was also used to to purchase several prepaid credit cards at local retailers.

From surveillance video it also appears that the male subject removes one of the shields intended to help hide a PIN number, and then observes the PIN entry over the victim’s shoulder

HERNANDEZ-JIMENEZ Was Arrested

(LEAMINGTON, ON)-On January 5, 2025, at 12:15 a.m., a member of Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol when they observed a vehicle being operated by a suspected impaired driver on Erie Street North, Municipality of Leamington.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver; they were transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, Lorenzo HERNANDEZ-JIMENEZ, a 34-year-old of Leamington, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on January 22, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

RUSTAMOV Was Arrested

(LAKESHORE, ON)-On January 4, 2025, at 9:28 p.m., members of the Lakeshore Detachment Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 22, Municipality of Lakeshore.

A good Samaritan called 911 to report a suspected impaired driver and remained with the vehicle that had come to a stop on County Road 22.

Officers arrived on scene and arrested the driver; they were transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, Rustam RUSTAMOV, a 40-year-old of Windsor, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Resist Peace Officer (Two Counts)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on January 17, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

(ESSEX, ON)- Driver facing charges after traffic complaint in Essex.

On January 4, 2025, at 8:36 p.m., members of the Essex Detachment Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 12, Town of Essex.

Officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, Brooke LANGLOIS, a 29-year-old of Essex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on January 16, 2025.

CRAMP – Drunk Driving

(TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving after a single vehicle collision.

On January 7, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers were conducting general patrol on Main Street in The Town of Wasaga Beach and located a single vehicle collision where a vehicle had struck a light pole. After speaking with the driver, officers conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Beverly CRAMP, 58-year-old of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Brendan Bower – Drunk Driving

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On January 7, 2025, at 1:14 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Main Street in Southgate.

A vehicle entered the RIDE program and police determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired.

As a result of the investigation, Brendan Bower, 30-years-old from Southgate was charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 30, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it. The OPP relies on the public to report crime. Impaired driving is a crime that should be treated no differently.

Daniel CLARK – Criminal Harassment

On Friday, January 3, 2024, at approximately 1:05 pm, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a threats call in the area of Oakwood Avenue and Parkwood Drive in the City of St. Catharines.

The initial information indicated that an adult female had noticed a male following her while she was walking in the area of Hartzel Road and Thorncliff Drive, in the City of St. Catharines. Despite her efforts to evade him, the male continued to follow her. The female eventually sought shelter at her residence, at which point she observed the male walk away.

Further investigation by detectives with 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) confirmed that the male had intentionally followed the female.

As a result, Daniel CLARK, a 51-year-old resident of St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with criminal harassment.

CLARK was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.

Detectives believe that CLARK may have engaged in similar behavior with other women in the past. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009783.

St. Thomas Police Daily Update 07Jan2025

A 23 year old St. Thomas resident wanted by our service on several outstanding provincial driving offences, has been arrested. On Monday January 6th 2025, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on the outstanding warrants dating back to March of 2023. The 23 year old was processed and transported to the Elgin County Courthouse for a court appearance. ST25000306

A 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested as the result of a suspicious person call. On Monday January 6th 2025, officers were called to the 300 block of Wellington Street for the report of an unknown person walking in and out of the street and on properties in the area. Officers located the individual and through investigation learned the 30 year old was wanted by our service on several outstanding warrants from 2023 and 2024. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25000326

A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. This morning, at approximately 2 a.m. officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service for one count Break and Enter, as the result of an investigation in December. The 29 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25000350

Failure to Comply 

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday January 6th 2025, STPS were notified by a remote monitoring vendor that the individual had entered an area they are conditions to not be near. Officers attended the address provided and located the individual. The 31 year old has been charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order and Failure to Comply with Probation and held for a morning court appearance. ST25000344

A 20 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday January 6th 2025, officers were called to an address on the west side of the city to move along an unwanted person. Officers attended and located the 20 year old who was known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding probation warrant. $400,000 Drug Bust – Details Released

A months-long investigation by the Windsor Police Service, with support from Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario (CISO), has led to the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of over $400,000 in illicit drugs. 

In May 2024, members of the Windsor Police Drugs and Guns Enforcement Unit (DIGS) began “Project Kraken,” an investigation into a suspected drug trafficking operation. The investigation ultimately uncovered a drug trafficking operation operating throughout Windsor and Essex County, with links to the Greater Toronto Area.

In the early hours of December 21, 2024, DIGS officers, with support from the Emergency Services Unit, arrested 26-year-old Keith Florence as he was returning to Windsor from Toronto. The suspect attempted to flee arrest before officers removed him from his vehicle and successfully took him into custody.

Following the arrest, officers obtained search warrants for Florence’s vehicle and two residences connected to this investigation.

A search of the vehicle returned two kilograms of cocaine, 356 grams of fentanyl, three cellphones, packaging materials, and $950 in Canadian and American currency.

A search of the first residence, located in the 5300 block of Concession Road 5 in Harrow, returned 575 grams of cocaine, 180 tablets of 80mg oxycodone, 72 tablets of 5mg oxycodone, 95 rounds of ammunition, empty packaging with cocaine residue, a digital scale, and $14,212 in Canadian currency.

Upon entering the second residence, located in the 1500 block of Ouellette Avenue in Windsor, officers arrested the second suspect, 34-year-old Brandon Brown, without incident. Officers also located and seized a cellphone from the residence.

The total value of drugs seized in the operation was $412,850.

Florence has been charged with:

• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, namely cocaine
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, namely fentanyl
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, namely oxycodone
• Trafficking in a schedule I substance, namely cocaine (x 2)
• Possession of the proceeds of crime
• Failure to comply with a prohibition order

Brown has been charged with five counts of trafficking in a schedule I substance, namely cocaine.

The successful completion of this investigation was made possible through funding provided by the Ontario Government, Ministry of the Solicitor General in which the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario supported this investigation.

Home Invasion – One Shot – Susupects At Large & Possibly Wounded

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking multiple suspects after shots were fired during a home invasion in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, January 6, 2025, at 3:49 a.m., police responded to a home invasion at a residence in the area of Sir Sanford Fleming Way and Grand Turk Avenue. Once on scene, officers learned that multiple suspects broke through the rear glass door and at least one suspect was armed with a handgun. When the residents were confronted, a struggle ensued and the gun was discharged.

A victim was located suffering from a gunshot wound and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other residents were injured. However, investigators believe one of the suspects may have been injured during the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

During the struggle, the suspects dropped the handgun and fled in a dark-coloured sport utility vehicle (SUV). The gun was recovered at the scene.

The suspects remain outstanding.

Suspect #1: male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5’10” with a skinny build, wearing a black hooded sweater, black balaclava and carrying a handgun with an extended magazine.

Suspect #2: male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5’8” with a skinny build, wearing a balaclava with unknown clothing.

Suspect #3 and #4: male, 25 to 30 years old, no description available.

Suspect #5: no description available.
