Human Trafficking, Police Fear More Victims – Huddy Conserve Arrested Again!

The Halton Regional Police Service has arrested and charged a suspect in relation to a sex trafficking investigation.

In December of 2024, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) began an investigation into a report of an adult female that was allegedly being trafficked by the suspect in the Greater Toronto Area. Members of the HRPS Human Trafficking Unit took carriage of the investigation and determined that over the course of four months the suspect coerced, controlled and exploited the victim in the sex trade while the suspect benefitted financially from the exploitation.

As a result of the investigation, on January 4, 2025, Huddy Conserve (36), of Quebec was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in Persons
  • Receive Material Benefit from Trafficking in Persons
  • Receive Material Benefit from the Sale of Sexual Services
  • Advertising Sexual Services
  • Procuring – Exercise Control
  • Assault
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Conserve has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Investigators believe there may be further human trafficking victims and advise Conserve often utilizes the aliases of H Mafia and Christopher Deltor (Conserve Photo attached). Michael MILLS Wanted By Police For Murder

An arrest warrant for second-degree murder has been issued following the 11th homicide of 2024.

On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of East Division responded to reports of an armed person at 1040 Cedar Street in Oshawa.  Officers arrived on scene and located a male shot inside the building, he was pronounced deceased on scene.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Dennis Binda of Oshawa.

On Monday, January 6, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued for Michael MILLS, age 44, for the charge of Second-Degree Murder.

Anyone with new information about this investigation is asked to contact Det. MacKinnon of the Homicide Unit at 1-888-579-1520 x 5411.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.

London Murder – Names Released

LONDON, ON (January 7, 2024) – A man is facing charges in relation to a suspicious death investigation on Chippewa Drive this morning.

The victim has been identified as Phy Puth, 64, of London.

The victim and accused were known to each other.

As a result of the investigation, Lee Couturier, 48, of London, has been charged with second degree murder.

The accused is expected to appear in London court today in relation to the investigation.

Guelph Police Daily Update 07Jan2025

Residents are reminded to be cautious when dealing with individuals online after a Guelph man lost $188,000 US in a cryptocurrency scam.

The victim reported he met a male in the summer through an online chat forum and believed the two knew each other from childhood overseas. Between September and the end of November the victim transferred $188,000 US through a series of transactions for the purposes of buying cryptocurrency.

When he was asked this week to pay an additional 30 per cent “verification fee” he called police.

Residents are urged to be extremely cautious when communicating online with anyone they do not know personally. Transfers to recipients in other countries are extremely difficult to trace and the chance of recouping lost funds is low.

Anyone who suspects they have been the victim of cybercrime or fraud should report it to their local police and to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre’s online reporting system or by phone at 1-888-495-8501. Even if no financial loss has been sustained, interactions can still be reported to the CAFC.

Watches, laptops stolen in break-in

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after watches, laptops and other property were stolen from a north-end office.

Monday morning police were called to an address near Silvercreek Parkway North and Woodlawn Road West. An employee arrived at work and found a broken window and damage inside. The business was entered sometime over the weekend.

Two gold-plated watches, two laptops, cash and gift cards were reported missing.

Man arrested in six gas thefts

A Guelph man has been arrested on a series of theft charges, including six counts of stealing gas from the same south-end station.

In November the Guelph Police Service Break Enter Auto Theft Unit began an investigation into a male involved in several retail thefts. These included six gas drive-offs from the same station during the month of November as well as three shoplifting incidents at different businesses.

On January 2 officers located the man sitting in his vehicle in a parking lot on Silvercreek Parkway North and he was arrested.

A 39-year-old Guelph man is charged with nine counts of theft under $5,000. He will appear in court February 11.

Two e-bikes stolen

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after two matching e-bikes were stolen from a shed.

On Monday police were called to a home near Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue. The homeowner reported his shed had been entered by prying open the latch. Two Envo D35 e-bikes were stolen.

Both bikes are teal and white with black nylon luggage bags on the rear and mirrors on the left handlebars. Each is valued at approximately $2,000.

Teenage Dirtbags Arrested For Armed Robbery

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of four arrests made in a Retail Robbery investigation.

On Sunday, January 5, 2025, at approximately 1:43 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a call in the Weston Road and Rutherford Road area.

It is alleged that:

  • four suspects attended a store in a stolen vehicle while wearing masks to disguise their identities
  • they approached a store while armed with hammers
  • they smashed the glass door to gain entry
  • they made a demand to unlock the safe
  • they took a quantity of cellphones before fleeing the area in the stolen vehicle

On Monday, January 6, 2025, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Toronto Police responded to a Hold Up call in the Keele Street and Wilson Avenue area.

It is further alleged that:

  • four suspects attended a store in a stolen vehicle while wearing masks to disguise their identities
  • three suspects approached a store while armed with hammers
  • they smashed the glass door to gain entry
  • they made a demand to unlock the safe
  • they took a quantity of cellphones before fleeing the area in the stolen vehicle

Officers from 31 Division quickly responded to the area and located the stolen vehicle.

It is further alleged that:

  • the stolen vehicle accelerated away at a high rate of speed
  • a short distance away, the stolen vehicle collided with another vehicle in the Finch Avenue West and Chesswood Drive area
  • an occupant from the other vehicle sustained minor injuries

The responding officers were able to take all four suspects into custody after a short foot pursuit. Members of the Toronto Police Hold Up Squad and members of the York Regional Police Hold Up Squad commenced an investigation and determined the suspects’ were involvement in both robberies.

Nathan Palmer, 20, of Toronto, was charged with:

  1. Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
  2. Disguise with Intent
  3. Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
  4. Dangerous Operation of Conveyance
  5. two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  6. Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10 a.m., in room 105.

A male youth, 15*, of Toronto, was charged with:

  1. Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
  2. Disguise with Intent
  3. two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  4. Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10 a.m., in room 606.

A male youth, 14*, of Toronto, was charged with:

  1. two counts of Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
  2. two counts of Disguise with Intent
  3. three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  4. two counts of Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10 a.m., in room 606.

A male youth, 14*, of Toronto, was charged with:

Homicide Investigation – 3 Arrested

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., police responded to a call for a Shooting in the Lake Shore Boulevard East and Joseph Duggan Road area.

It is reported that:

  • a group of males were heard arguing
  • a number of gunshots were heard
  • the victim was located with a gunshot wound
  • the victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased

The victim has been identified as Dacia Mbongo, 21, of Quebec.

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, investigators executed search warrants in Toronto and Durham Region.

As a result of these search warrants, three people were arrested in relation to this homicide.

Ricardo Wills, 18, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Second Degree Murder
  2. Robbery

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 2 p.m., in room 102.

Kenneth Neil, 26, of Ajax, was arrested and charged with:

Carjacking – 2 Arrested

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of two arrests made in a Carjacking investigation.

On Monday, January 6, 2025, at approximately 2:18 a.m., police responded to a call for Unknown Trouble in the Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue East area.

It is alleged that:

  • the victim and three friends were travelling in their vehicle
  • a black GMC tow truck began aggressively following closely behind
  • suspects inside the GMC began waving at the victim
  • the victim’s vehicle struck several curbs as they attempted to flee
  • the victim pulled over as a result of damage to their vehicle
  • one suspect exited the GMC and ordered the victims out of their vehicle
  • the suspect drove away in the victim’s vehicle with the GMC in tandem

Officers from 32 Division quickly responded to the area and located the GMC and the victim’s vehicle. Officers surrounded the area and took the two suspects into custody.

Yusif Ibrahimov, 30, of Thornhill, was charged with:

  1. Robbery
  2. Theft of Motor Vehicle With Violence

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 a.m., in room 105.

82 Year Old Snowmobiler Found Deceased

(TEMAGAMI, ON) – One person has died after the snowmobile they were riding went through the ice on Lake Temagami.

On January 6, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with members of the Bear Island Police Service, responded to an incident of a missing snowmobiler after the rider failed to return home.

Officers assisted by OPP Aviation Services, OPP Northeast Emergency Response Team (ERT) as well OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) began the search.

On January 7, 2025, the 82-year-old person from Temagami was located deceased. The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-FPS).

OPP reminds anglers and outdoor enthusiast to carefully evaluate ice conditions before heading out onto the ice as conditions can change rapidly.

Infant Dead, Two Arrested – Names Released

(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – Two people are charged following an infant death investigation on Saugeen First Nation.

On March 26, 2023, the Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Bruce County Paramedic Services and the Saugeen Fire Department, responded to a call concerning an unresponsive infant at a residence on Scotch Settlement Road, Saugeen First Nation. The nine-month-old infant was transported to hospital and pronounced deceased.

As a result of the investigation, Michael RANTON, 33 years of age of Saugeen Shores, and Dakota ROOTE-BESITO, 28 years of age of Saugeen First Nation, were each charged with criminal negligence causing death contrary to section 220(b) of the Criminal Code.

Both accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on January 7, 2025.

The Grey Bruce OPP Crime Unit conducted the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Attempting To Sell Stolen Property Online Ends With Arrests

(MARMORA & LAKE TWP, ON) – An Oshawa resident and a Marmora and Lake resident are facing charges after a foiled attempt to sell stolen property online.

On Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 2:45 p.m., officers with the Central Hastings Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded when an individual reported a suspicious ad on an online marketplace.

Officers located the potential sellers and confirmed that the property (an industrial heater) was in fact stolen and had been taken from a construction site in Madoc in November 2024. Two people were arrested at the scene.

Taylor REDMOND, age 34 of Marmora and Lake, was charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Careless use of a weapon
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Fail to comply with a probation order
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts

This accused was held in custody until a scheduled bail hearing.

Richard HENWOOD, age 34 of Oshawa was charged with

  • Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – four counts

This accused was released with conditions by the OPP and turned over to the custody of another police service in relation to a separate investigation. 

The vehicle the two individuals arrived in was towed from the scene.

TREMBLAY Facing Charges

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing charges after they rear-ended another vehicle.

On January 5, 2025, at approximately 11:00 am., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision, where a person was rear-ended by a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) on Highway 17 in the town of Walden. During their interaction with the driver, police determined that an intoxicating substance had been consumed. A subsequent arrest was made, and the driver was transported to the Espanola detachment for further testing.

No injuries were sustained.

As a result, the driver, Chelsea TREMBLAY, 25-years-old from Markstay, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Dangerous operation
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on February 3, 2025.

Sabrina MISHIBINIJIMA Was Arrested

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged after a traffic stop in Espanola.

On December 31, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a sobriety check. During the stop, police detected an odour of cannabis emanating from the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired operation.

Additionally, a search of the vehicle resulted in police seizing approximately 50 suspected hydromorphone pills, with an estimated street value of $130, and approximately 0.5g of suspected crack cocaine, with an estimated street value of $75.

As a result, the driver, Sabrina MISHIBINIJIMA, 38-years-old from Wikwemikong, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance – other drugs
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on February 3, 2025.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Courtney FENNER Arrested

(SUDBURY, ON) – Police arrested and charged one person with the theft of a motor vehicle.

On January 4, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft of a motor vehicle from a residence on King Street, St. Charles.

Police later located and stopped the vehicle in Sudbury and arrested one person. As a result of the investigation, Courtney FENNER, 33 years-of-age, from St. Charles, was charged with take motor vehicle without consent

The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 29, 2025, in Sudbury.

3 Arrested In Drug Bust – Names Released

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – A traffic stop on Highway 6 in Little Current has resulted in three individuals being arrested.

On December 31, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with assistance from the United Chief and Councils of Manitoulin Police Service Commission (UCCM), were made aware of a vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 6 that may be in possession of drugs.

OPP located the suspect vehicle in Little Current and initiated a traffic stop. Three people were arrested, and a search resulted in officers seizing approximately 120g of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of $12,000.

As a result, the driver, Jay PITAWANAKWAT, 50-years-old from Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation, was charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

The passenger, Darcy MCCOMBER, 45-years-old from Garson, was charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

The second passenger, George Corbiere, 63-years-old from Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation, was charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

The three accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on February 25, 2025.

Steven MCGUIRE Facing Drug Charges

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing impaired and drug charges after they went through a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check.

On January 4, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE check on Highway 6 at Old Webbwood Road in the Baldwin Township. A vehicle entered the RIDE check area, and police determined that the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance. An arrest was made, and the driver was transported to the Espanola detachment for further testing.

Additionally, a search of the vehicle resulted in police seizing approximately one gram of suspected methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $100, approximately one gram of suspected crack cocaine, with an estimated street value of $150, approximately 70g of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $7,000, and approximately $3,500 in Canadian currency.

As a result, the driver, Steven MCGUIRE, 58-years-old from Levack, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Fail to properly wear seat belt
  • Obstruct plate
  • Operate unsafe vehicle

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on February 3, 2025.
