Pervert Alert: Geoffrey MCKENNA Arrested

(Ottawa) — Following a six-month investigation, the Ottawa Police Service West Criminal Investigations Unit has laid several charges against an Ottawa man.

The investigation was launched after multiple reports were received regarding a suspicious motor vehicle parking near a Stittsville home at night. The investigation later revealed several different homes were targeted in Stittsville, Richmond, Kars and North Gower.

Geoffrey MCKENNA, 30-years old, of Ottawa, Ontario, has been charged with:

  • Voyeurism x4,
  • Criminal harassment x2,
  • Mischief x2.

He appeared in court on January 8, 2024.

Investigators believe that there are additional victims and are seeking witnesses to report any similar events.

Georgios Sakellaris Facing Numerous Fraud Charges – Police Fear More Victims

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Fraud Over $5000 investigation.

It is alleged that:

  • Between January 2022 and September 2022, a man posing as an investment broker would convince victims to invest money with the promise of large returns
  • the man would then advise the victims that he lost their investments, and they would have to sue him to obtain their investments
  • the victims would never obtain any money

It is further alleged that:

  • Between November 2024 and January 2025, the man would pose as a contactor and advise victims that he could repair their roof for a discount
  • the man would obtain a deposit, and then never begin the work
  • victims would never obtain their deposit back

Georgios Sakellaris, 42, of Toronto has been arrested and charged with:

  1. six counts of Fraud Over $5000
  2. six counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  3. six counts of Launder Proceeds of Canadian Currency
  4. three counts of Fraud Under $5000

He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in room 106.

Investigators believe there may be more victims. An image has been released.

Residents are reminded to use caution when solicited for any service and not to share personal information with people unknown to them.

Suspects often target elderly and vulnerable citizens using high-pressure tactics to commence work immediately. They usually demand payment in the form of cash or bank draft.

Fatal 2 Vehicle Collision

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – A serious collision involving two vehicles on Old Highway 2, in the City of Quinte West, has left two people deceased.

 On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, around 3:45 p.m., officers with the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the collision near Quinte View Drive. 

One driver was pronounced deceased at scene. A passenger in that vehicle was pronounced deceased after being transported to hospital.

The second driver was transported to hospital with unknown injuries.  

Old Hwy 2, between RCAF Road and Whites Road, remains closed for the investigation. Members of the Technical Collision Investigation team and an OPP Collision Reconstructionist are assisting members of Quinte West OPP.

Lance ROWE Arrested Again & Facing Numerous Charges

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid numerous weapons charges against an individual from Scarborough as a result of a traffic stop.

Shortly before 2:00 p.m. on January 14, OPP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 417 in the west end of Ottawa. The investigation led officers to locate three handguns, including two that were loaded, as well as ammunition. 

Lance ROWE, 48 years of age faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 6
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm x 2
  • Knowledge or Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x 3
  • Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm x 2
  • Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition x 3
  • Carry Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Careless Manner
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other than to Attend Court x 4

Rowe was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Seamus MC GEE – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation, following a traffic complaint.

On January 13, 2025, shortly before 2:30 p.m., officers investigated a traffic complaint on Highway 10, after a concerned citizen reported the driver was operating a motor vehicle in an unsafe manner on the roadway. During the investigation, grounds were formed to determine the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Seamus MC GEE, 39, of Brampton, was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on January 30, 2025, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven days.

19 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested Near Chepstow

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region OPP K-9, and OPP Aviation Unit responded to a weapons incident in the Municipality of Brockton in Greenock Township just after 2:00 p.m. on January 11th, 2025.  

One individual was located in an isolated area along Schmidt Lake Road and taken into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Logan VIENNEAU, 19-years-old of Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:

·      Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, CC 91(1)

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon, CC 94

·      Failure to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a) – three counts

·      Fail to comply with probation order, CC 733.1(1)

·      Possession of a schedule I substance, CDSA 4(1)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Jordan COURTNEY – Drunk Driving

(Prince Edward County, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual as a result of a traffic stop.

On January 12, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers conducted a proactive traffic stop on County Road 8. Further investigation led to an Approved Screening Device being utilized, and the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Jordan COURTNEY, age 31 from Prince Edward County, was arrested and charged with:

· Operation while impaired – alcohol

· Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 12, 2025. They also had their driver’s license suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Stuck On Train Tracks Results In Impaired Charge

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – A report of a vehicle stuck on a railroad crossing has led to impaired driving charges.

On January 14, 2025, at approximately 5:45 a.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call regarding a vehicle that had become stuck after driving onto the train tracks near the intersection of Government Road and Brunelle Road South in Kapuskasing. Police coordinated with the rail company to confirm the tracks were clear and no trains were operating in the area.

By the time police arrived, the vehicle had been pushed off the tracks. During the interaction with the driver, police determined that they had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the Kapuskasing OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Tyson THIBEAULT, 24 years of age of Timmins, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 24, 2025, in Kapuskasing. In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Break & Enter – 3 Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Three individuals have been charged following a break-and-enter investigation in Simcoe.

At approximately 5:27 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a reported break-and-enter on Norfolk Street South in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that a group of individuals had unlawfully entered a business on the property.

Officers located three individuals on the premises and took them into custody without incident. A search of the individuals led to the discovery and seizure of suspected fentanyl, ecstasy, morphine, and Canadian currency.

36-year-old Kirbie WAMSLEY from Haldimand County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methylenedioxyamphetamine (ecstasy)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

45-year-old Zachariah SOLOMON from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – other drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

47-year-old Jason BALCOMB from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime – under $5,000 (in Canada),
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order.

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

14 Year Old Arrested For Break & Enter In Kincardine

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On January 11, 2025, at approximately 12:52 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break & enter at a business property along Queen Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

OPP Canine and members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) located one individual a short distance from the scene; they were then taken in custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 14-year-old from Kincardine, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break & Enter – CC 348(1)(a) – two counts
  • Theft under $5,000 – CC 334(b)
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000 – CC 355(b)
  • Mischief under $5,000 – CC 430(4) – two counts

The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice at a later date.

Homeless Camp Burnt To Ground

(ORANGEVILLE, ON) – Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside Orangeville Fire Services, responded to a fire in the Town of Orangeville.

On January 10, 2025, just before 4:00p.m., Dufferin OPP responded to a fully engulfed homeless encampment at a location on First Street within the Town of Orangeville. No injuries were reported.

Orangeville Fire Services were able to put out the flames and confirm there were no safety concerns. The Dufferin OPP would like to thank the multiple members of the public who placed calls to emergency services in relation to this fire.

The Dufferin OPP recognizes that the cold weather poses many risks to people living unhoused. Out of the Cold is a program run by Choices Youth Shelter located at 59 Town Line, and will operate seven days a week from 9:00p.m., to 8:00a.m. This program partners with the County of Dufferin and the Town of Orangeville to try and assist in providing shelter to encourage people living unhoused to come inside, out of the cold

1.7 Kilos Of Cocaine Seized

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A resident of East Gwillimbury and three others are facing charges under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) after nearly two kilograms of suspected cocaine was seized in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay.

On December 10, 2024, three search warrants were executed at residences in Thunder Bay and Kakabeka Falls by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG), OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Community Street Crime Unit, Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) Emergency Task Unit and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS). The Toronto Police Service Drug Squad also assisted with this investigation.

As a result of the search warrants, police seized:

  •       1.7 kilograms of suspected cocaine
  •       $257,000 in Canadian currency
  •       Four cell phones
  •       Three digital scales
  •       One laptop computer

The estimated street-value of the drugs seized is $170,000.

Malcolm PARCHMENT, age 30 of East Gwillimbury, Philip ARPIN, age 62 of Thunder Bay, April ARPIN age 43 of Thunder Bay and Lauritz PAJAMAKI, age 70 of Kakabeka Falls have each been charged with the following two offences under the CC and CDSA:

  •       Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  •       Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

One of the accused remains in custody and the other three accused were released. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on various dates.

Crediton Drug Bust – Names Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), and Huron County OPP detachment resulted in the seizure of weapons and stolen property. Criminal charges have been laid against two individuals.

An investigation that began in December 2024 eventually led investigators to an address in Crediton, Municipality of South Huron.

On Wednesday, January 08, 2025, a search warrant was executed on Victoria Avenue East in the Village of Crediton which resulted in the recovery and seizure of stolen property as well as, imitation firearms, knives, brass knuckles, firearm magazines, firearm components, and a stun gun. Two individuals have been arrested and charged.

Mitchell HARRIS, 36 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – (two counts),
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice, where they were remanded into custody.

Ryan GREEN, 43 years of age from Goderich has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter – (two counts),
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – (nine counts),
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,
  • Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition – (three counts),
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order – (six counts),
  • Possession of Identity Document – (five counts),
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order – (eight counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice, where they were remanded into custody.

Richard MITCHELL Arrested Again

(TOWNSHIP OF HAMILTON, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual found in breach of court conditions.

On January 12. 2025, at around 12:40 p.m., OPP received a report regarding a person believed to breaching conditions of a court release order at an address in Bewdley.

A person matching the description provided to police was located nearby and they were placed under arrest. Following a search, a small quantity of drugs was also discovered.

As a result, Richard MITCHELL (age 41) from Toronto, has been charged with:

–      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid.

The individual was held for bail before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.

More Impaired Drivers

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – Two drivers have been charged with impaired, after two separate complaints.

On January 10, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 11 in Hilliard Township.

The OPP attended and determined the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Louiselle MCLEAN, 70 years of age, of Earlton Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

On January 11, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the OPP responded to a suspicious vehicle parked on Lillie Street in Thornloe. Officers attended and found the driver asleep in the vehicle. They were arrested and transported the detachment for further testing.

William SIMMENS, 45 years-of-age of Thornloe Ontario, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

Both drivers received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on January 28, 2025.
