William CODDINGTON – Impaired Driving

(NIPIGON, ON) – On April 23, 2024, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Nipigon Detachment conducted a proactive traffic stop resulting in one person being arrested and criminally charged with impaired operation and driving while under suspension.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Nipigon OPP Detachment were on general patrol in the Town of Nipigon in the area of Greenmantle Drive. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver was found to be a suspended driver and additionally performed a roadside Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) to which the driver failed. The driver was transported to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).  

As a result of the investigation, William CODDINGTON, 55-years-old of Dorion has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·        Driving While Under Suspension

The accused received a 90-Day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7 Day Vehicle Impoundment.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Nipigon on May 14, 2024, to answer to the above charges.

48 Year Old Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an impaired driver as a result of a traffic stop.

On April 23, 2024, members of the South Bruce OPP conducted a traffic stop on Concession 10 Greenock in the Municipality of Brockton. At approximately 8:58 p.m., police stopped a vehicle and the driver showed signs of impairment. The investigating officer administered a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test, registering a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Kent Reay, 48-years-old, from the Municipality of South Bruce was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Violent Home Invasion: Kiefer CLARKE Arrested

(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Elgin County OPP Crime Unit have arrested an individual related to an ongoing home invasion investigation that began in June of 2022.

On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at approximately 3:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault at a Fingal Line, Southwold Township address.

It was determined that an unknown individual arrived at the residence posing as a delivery person and then forcibly entered the residence after the door was opened by the homeowner. A physical altercation then ensured when a second unknown person entered the home and began to assault the owner.

Both suspects fled from the residence in an unknown direction in a black coloured, long styled sedan.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital and treated for serious non-life-threatening injuries.

On April 10, 2024, as a result of the ongoing investigation, members of the Elgin County OPP Crime Unit charged Kiefer CLARKE, a 20-year-old from Cambridge, with the following:

  • Robbery with intent
  • Unlawfully in dwelling house
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Administer noxious thing
  • Robbery with intent to steal a firearm

The accused was held for a bail hearing, has since been released, and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on May 7, 2024.

The Elgin County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate to determine the identity of the other involved individual.

Jeremy DEARING Was Arrested

(ARCHIPELAGO, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.

On April 20, 2024, shortly before 1:00 a.m. members of the West Parry Sound OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) checkpoint on Highway 69, Archipelago Township. A vehicle approached the checkpoint, and it was determined the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving. The driver failed an Approved Screening Device (A.S.D) check at the roadside and was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Jeremy DEARING, 31 years-of-age of Brampton Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 6, 2024. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Kenneth ZEBRAUSKAS Was Arrested

(WHITESTONE, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.

On April 21, 2024, shortly before 3:00 p.m. members of the West Parry Sound OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 124 in Whitestone Township. After speaking with the driver, it was determined the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving. The driver failed an Approved Screening Device (A.S.D) check at the roadside and was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Kenneth ZEBRAUSKAS, 47 years-of-age of Whitestone Township Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Speeding
  • Drive motor vehicle with no currently validated permit. 

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 30, 2024. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Drug Bust

(FRENCH RIVERON) – Police arrested and charged two people with weapons and drug related offences after a traffic stop.

On April 22, 2024, shortly before 7:00 p.m., members from the Sudbury Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle for speeding on Highway 69, French River.

As a result of the investigation, two people were arrested. A search of the vehicle located a handgun, credit cards, Canadian currency, open liquor, and drugs suspected to be cannabis.

The driver, Jamar QUINTYNE, 31 years-of-age from Mississauga, was charged with:

  • Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

Jonathan SINCLAIR, 31 years-of-age from Mississauga, was charged with:

  • Having liquor in open container in unauthorized place
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

Both accused were held for Bail Court and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 23, 2024, in Sudbury.

Kincardine Drug Bust – Names Released

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On April 18, 2024, at 7:32 p.m., officers with the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Durham Street in Kincardine.

During the interaction with the occupants, officers observed illicit drugs in plain view. A search incident to arrest led to the seizure of a quantity of drugs and prohibited weapons.

As a result of the investigation, the South Bruce OPP have charged:

Gavin ARNOLD, 42-years-old, of no fixed address with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Fail to comply with probation (2 counts)

Victoria MARSH, 30-years-old, from the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)

Brendan RITCHIE, 34-years-old, from the Municipality of Meaford with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)

Preston RITCHIE, 23-years-old, from Saugeen First Nation with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

Kelly SIEFRIED, 39-years-old, from the Town of South Bruce Peninsula with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)
  • Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused parties were held for a bail hearing in Walkerton.

25 Year Old From Dundalk Charged Following Collision

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – The involved driver that involved in a three-vehicle collision has sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition.

On April 22nd, 2024, at approximately 7:03 a.m., the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a three-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 24 north in Brant County. Members of Brant County Fire, Brant County EMS and Ministry of Transportation (MTO) also attended the scene.

To assist with the investigation and for the protection of emergency responders, a section of the highway was closed between Glen Morris Road East and Locke Road. The road re-opened at approximately 6:15 p.m., that evening.

The driver from one of the involved vehicles was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

A 25-year-old from Dundalk has been charged with Careless Driving.

35 Year Old Arrested At Checkpoint

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin County arrested an impaired driver at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint.

On April 23, 2024, members of the Elgin County OPP were conducting a RIDE checkpoint on Carlow Road near William Street, Municipality of Central Elgin. At approximately 1:15 a.m., police stopped a passenger vehicle and checked for driver sobriety.

While speaking to the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of alcohol consumption and administered a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test, registering a failure. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Elgin County OPP (St. Thomas) Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Edward COOPER, 35-year-old from the Municipality of Central Elgin was charged with the following:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on June 4, 2024.

Brandon Fisher Was Arrested

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation on April 23, 2024 after a traffic complaint.

On April 23, 2024, at approximately 01:28 a.m., officers received a traffic complaint of an ATV speeding up and down residential roads. Officers conduced a traffic stop on the motor vehicle in a residential area of Omemee. Through investigation the driver was arrested for impaired driving offences and several Highway Traffic Act offences.

Brandon Fisher, 28-year-old of Omemee, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Operator Motor Vehicle without Insurance
  • Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle
  • Failed to Wear Proper Helmet
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Not Equipped with Ignition Interlock Device
  • Drive Motor Vehicle No Plates
  • Unlawfully Drive Off Road Vehicle on Highway
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Unsealed Container of Liquor

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.

If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.

Spike Belt Used To Stop Brandon FARROW-LOISELLE

(LENNOX & ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recovered a stolen vehicle charging one male.

On April 22, 2024, shortly after 7:00 a.m., officers from the L&A County OPP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from York Regional Police. Police locate the stolen vehicle driving eastbound on Highway 401 at Marysville Road. Officers confirmed it was the vehicle stolen from York Region and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop for police and officers deployed a Tire Deflation Device also known as a spike belt to safely bring the vehicle to a stop just past the Old Wilton Road overpass. The lone male driver was arrested by police without incident.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged Brandon FARROW-LOISELLE, age 31, of Ottawa, with:

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Operation while prohibited

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.

OPP Seize $8,000,000 In Weed: Trudeau & Ford Weren’t Getting A Cut #FillOutYourPaperWork

(NIAGARA, ON) – A search warrant conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET) has resulted in the seizure of cannabis plants with a potential street value of approximately $8 million.

This investigation began after police became aware of a strong cannabis odour emitting from what appeared to be an abandoned warehouse located on Don Murie Street in Niagara Falls.

Upon executing the search warrant on April 17, 2024, the following items were seized:

  • More than 2,500 clone cannabis plants
  • More than 13,000 vegetative and mature budding cannabis plants

As a result of this investigation, the following individuals have been charged under the Cannabis Act with Production- Cultivate Cannabis Without Authorization:

  • Chamrong LADADAS, 49 of no fixed address
  • Arthit SEESAI, 31 of no fixed address
  • Xueqi GAO, 59 of no fixed address
  • Jeffrey LIAN, 41 of no fixed address
  • Li Cheng FENG, 58 of no fixed address
  •  Wen Guang ZHENG, 66 of Markham

The suspects were released from custody and will appear before an Ontario Court of Justice in St. Catharines on May 30, 2024.

Meth Bust – Names Released

(ORANGEVILLE, ON) – Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized a quantity of drugs and charged four individuals after conducting a search warrant at a residence in the Town of Orangeville.

On April 19, 2024, members of the Dufferin Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with Dufferin uniform members and Offender Management and Apprehension Program (OMAP) executed a search warrant at a home on Fourth Avenue in Orangeville. The search warrant resulted in the arrest of four individuals who are facing multiple charges. In addition, the officers seized a quantity of various drugs.  

Rory SIEGEL, 42-year-old from Shelburne has been charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance – other drugs

Lorne STOCKDALE, 45-year-old from Orangeville

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance – Opioid

David TEGGART,46-year-old from Orangeville has been charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime – under $5000

Karen WHITING 47-year-old from Orangeville has been charged with:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

31 Year Old From Owen Sound Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an impaired driver.

On April 21, 2024, members of the South Bruce OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a vehicle parked in a live lane of traffic on Bruce County Road 19. At approximately 3:21 a.m., police located a vehicle parked in the live lane. The driver showed signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Neal Korchak, 31-years-old, from the City of Owen Sound was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

52 Year Old From South Huron Arrested – Name Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with an Impaired Driving offence following a traffic stop on Monday April 8th, 2024. 

On April 8th, just before 10:00 p.m., Huron County OPP officers were provided information by a concerned member of the public that a vehicle driver may under the influence at an address on Main Street North in the Town of Exeter, Municipality of South Huron.

Police attended the location and conducted a traffic stop on the subject vehicle. Officers determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving. A demand was made by police for a sample of the driver’s breath into the roadside screening device, which resulted in a failure. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests with an OPP qualified breath technician. The breath tests resulted in readings which exceeded two times the legal limit.

Michelle TRUMBLE, 52-years-of-age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 13th, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
