Brock THERRIEN – Drunk Driving

(MIDLAND, ON)- Another report of a possible impaired driver by a community member to the OPP Communication Centre this time on Highway 93, Tiny Township has resulted in an impaired driving investigation of a Midland resident by officers of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

At approximately 2:15 p.m. June 5, 2025 an officer was dispatched to investigate the complaint and shortly thereafter located and stopped the suspect red Dodge pick up on Highway 12, Midland near the Detachment.

The officer spoke with the driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation resulting in 30 year old Brock THERRIEN being charged criminally with the following driving offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on June 19, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

MILLS – Drunk Driving

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On May 10th, 2025 at approximately 10:29 p.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint along Highway 17, within the Unorganized Territory of Thunder Bay.

The complaint vehicle was located & a traffic stop was initiated. Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Ronald MILLS, 56, of Ear Falls, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on June 18th, 2025.

Clifford LAZARUS Was Arrested

(MOOSONEE, ON) – A Moosonee resident has been charged with impaired driving offences following a single-vehicle collision in Moosonee.

On Sunday May 25, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received multiple calls for service regarding a pickup truck in the ditch on Ferguson Road, where the driver was suspected to be impaired.

Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver determining they had been consuming an alcoholic beverage. The individual was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Moosonee detachment for further testing. While being escorted into the detachment, the accused assaulted a police officer.

As a result, Clifford LAZARUS, 32 years-of-age from Moosonee, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Assault a peace officer

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to next appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 8, 2025, in Moosonee. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).

The OPP encourages the public to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 9-1-1.

2 Arrested Following Weapons Complaint

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged two people, after investigating a weapons complaint.

On Sunday June 1, 2025, at approximately 1:55 a.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, responded to a weapons complaint on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

The driver advised police, that two individuals had approached them with knives, but was able to flee in a vehicle which was still being followed by the two individuals.

Police were able to locate the vehicle with the two individuals, who banished the knives and arrest them both. A search of the vehicle located, a club, a prohibited weapon, edged weapons, replica handgun, unmarked cigarettes and drugs suspected to be cocaine and cannabis.

As a result of the investigation, Nicholas MIRON-ST. GEORGES, 29 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Carrying concealed weapon -two counts
  • Criminal Harassment – repeatedly follow
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance

Tyler OVERHOLT, 27 years-of-age, from Sudbury was charged with:

  • Criminal Harassment – repeatedly follow
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on July 3, 2025, in North Bay.

22 Year Old From Kincardine Arrested

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On May 31, 2025, at approximately 9:25 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint for a dirt bike travelling along Bruce Road 7, Municipality of Kincardine.

Police attended and located the vehicle in the nearby area. While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

Zachary BUMBA, 22-years-old, resident of Kincardine, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Operation while prohibited, CC 320.18(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear on July 9, 2025, at the Walkerton Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

(BROCKTON, ON) – On June 2, 2025, at approximately 6:11 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint for a vehicle along Hinks Street, Municipality of Brockton.

Police attended and located the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

Kyle DEAN Arrested Following Hit & Run

(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with impaired driving offences after responding to a vehicle collision.

On Saturday May 31, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP and Emergency Medical Service (EMS), responded to a single motor vehicle collision near Onaping on Highway 144, Sudbury

The driver had fled the scene but was later located by Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) and transported to the GSPS headquarters for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle DEAN, 32 years-of-age, from Levack, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Fail to remain
  • Fail to report damage to property on highway

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday June 25, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Steven REECE – Impaired Operation

(MIDLAND, ON)- A report of a possible impaired driver by a community member to the OPP Communication Centre on Angela Schmidt Foster Road, Midland has resulted in an impaired driving investigation of a Midland resident by officers of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

At approximately 3:08 p.m. June 3, 2025 an officer was dispatched to investigate the complaint and shortly thereafter located the suspect vehicle in a retail parking parking on Simcoe County Road 93, Midland.

The officer spoke with the driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation resulting in 62 year old Steven REECE being charged criminally with the following driving offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Zachary GOULARD Was Arrested

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with impaired driving offences after responding to a vehicle collision.

On Friday May 30, 2025, at approximately 9:50 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP and Emergency Medical Service (EMS), responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

The driver, who provided a false name to police was arrested for impaired driving and was transported by EMS to the local hospital for minor injuries. A small amount of drugs, suspected to be cocaine was seized from the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, Zachary GOULARD, 35 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on July 3, 2025, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

2 Passed Out In Vehicle Arrested

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police arrested and charged two people with drugs and weapon related offences.

On Friday May 30, 2025, at approximately 12:10 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of two people passed out in a parked motor vehicle on Main Street, West Nipissing.

Police attended the scene and arrested the two occupants. A search of the vehicle located a knife, prohibited weapon, cellular phones, scales, Canadian currency, and drugs suspected to be Fentanyl, hydromorphone, methamphetamine, and other drugs.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle GOULAIS, 41 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with:

  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – two counts
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking

The accused was held for Bail Court, then remanded back into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in North Bay.

Cassandra PUSKAS, 35 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with:

  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking

The accused was held for Bail Court, then released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in North Bay.

Paramvir KHAIRA – Assault With Weapon, Dangerous Operation

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment were called to the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, near Folden’s Line for the report of an altercation between two drivers.

On June 3, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of Oxford OPP investigated an incident involving a transport truck driver and a pick-up truck driver.

As a result of the investigation, the transport truck driver, Paramvir KHAIRA, 35-years-old, of Whitby has been charged with:

•        Dangerous Operation

•        Assault with A Weapon

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on July 29, 2025.

No injuries were reported.

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS) On Saturday May 31, 2025, just before 2:00 am, an officer was travelling eastbound County Road 35 and observed a white Volkswagen SUV that had rolled in the north side ditch between Woodview Road and Bannon Road. The officer stopped to check for injuries. The uninjured driver and only occupant of the vehicle made their way out of the ditch and began speaking with the officer. Police suspected the individual had been consuming alcohol and administered a roadside screening device test to which the driver registered a ‘fail’. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Campbellford OPP Detachment where further testing was conducted. As a result of the investigation Jaxon LEE (age 24) out of Stirling, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on a date in July 2025.

(CRAMAHE TOWNSHIP) Just after 11:30 pm on Tuesday June 3, 2025, police received numerous traffic complaints regarding a grey Toyota Corolla that was observed to be driving erratically eastbound on Highway 401. The vehicle was described as not being able to maintain a lane and hitting the center median. An officer located the vehicle and observed the vehicle to be driving at inconsistent speeds while swerving from one lane into the other. Three cruisers were used to safely conduct a tandem stop on the subject vehicle on the highway off ramp near the Big Apple. An went to speak to the driver and immediately detected an odor of alcohol emanating from the individual’s breath. The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and transported back to the OPP Detachment in Cobourg for testing. As a result of the investigation Gregory REUEL (age 34) of Kitchener Ontario has been charged under the Criminal Code of Code of Canada with: 

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation

The driver was additionally charged under the Liquor License Control Act and the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was held until sober then released with a date in July 2025 to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.

Brandon ROACH – Assault, Impaired Driving

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT LAKES, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual with assault and impaired driving after receiving a call regarding a road rage incident.

On May 31, 2025, shortly after 9:00am, Peterborough County OPP Officers were dispatched to a report of a fight between two individuals at an intersection on Buckhorn Road. Officers attended and spoke with the first driver who shared their side of the story. Upon speaking with the second driver, officers detected signs that they may be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment. The accused provided samples of their breath registering over twice the legal limit.

Brandon ROACH (age 39) of Buckhorn, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Assault

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 8, 2025.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified by members of the public of driving behaviours that indicated an individual was possibly driving impaired on Highway 11 southbound in Oro-Medonte Township. Officers were dispatched to a separate incident of a motor vehicle collision on county road 169 in Ramara Township. In both incidents officers entered impaired driving investigations.

On June 3, 2025, at approximately 4:16 a.m., officers from the Orillia detachment of the OPP were notified by the public of a possible impaired driver on Highway 11 southbound, in the township of Oro-Medonte. Officers observed the vehicle’s driving and were led into an impaired driving investigation where one individual was charged with impaired related charges.  

As a result, Jeffrey ALFORD; 35-year-old, from Fort Erie, ON. has been subsequently charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Failure to comply with release order
  • Drive while under suspension
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

Furthermore, at approximately 10:49 p.m., officers from the Orillia detachment of the OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in a ditch on County Road 169, in Ramara Township. After arriving on scene officers were again led into an impaired driving investigation where one individual provided samples of breath more than two times the legal limit. The accused was charged with impaired related charges. 

As a result, Louise MAPP; 59-year-old, from Hamilton Township, ON. has been subsequently charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – 80 plus

Subsequently the drivers in both instances licences were suspended for 90 days and their vehicles were impounded for 7 days. Jhonathan GERMOND Was Arrested Again

(HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN TOWNSHIP, ON) – A member of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting patrol on Ottawa Street on May 27, 2025. The officer received a notification from the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system within his cruiser indicating an issue with the licence plate attached to a passing vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and through investigation it was determined the driver was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.

Jhonathan GERMOND (age 31) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

·      Driving while under Suspension

·      Use plate not authorized for vehicle

·      Fail to surrender insurance card

The accused had their vehicle impounded for 45 days and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 7, 2025.
