$9,000 Drug Bust – 2 Arrested

(ESPANOLA, ON) – Two people are facing charges after police conducted a traffic stop for a dirty licence plate.

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle with a licence plate obstructed by dirt swerving on Highway 6 in Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands Township. A traffic stop was initiated and as a result of the investigation, both the driver and passenger were arrested.

Police seized amounts of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine with a total estimated street value of $9,000.

The driver, Jason CARUSO, 43-years-old from Lively, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Fail to have insurance card
  • Fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
  • Operate unsafe vehicle

The passenger, Renee DAIGLE, 40-years-old from Hanmer, was charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on October 7, 2025.

Steven TOTA Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged in connection with an impaired-related collision near Delhi.

On Monday, September 13, 2025, at approximately 8:52 p.m., Norfolk County OPP officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Brantford Road, just outside Delhi. No injuries were reported.

After locating and speaking with the driver near the scene, officers took the individual into custody without incident.

As a result, 34-year-old Steven TOTA of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

4 Arrested In Drug Bust – Names Released

(BANCROFT, ON) – Four people have been charged following a drug trafficking investigation, which began in the summer of 2025 by Bancroft OPP.

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit and members of the Bancroft Detachment executed a warrant at a residence in Faraday Township.

Officers located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, Canadian currency, a conducted energy weapon (CEW) and other items commonly related to drug trafficking.

Kent BOWERS, age 41, from Belleville has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, methamphetamine 
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to comply with probation order – three counts

Erica OLMSTEAD, age 32, from Hastings Highlands has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, methamphetamine 
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Christopher RAMSAY, age 47, from Faraday Township has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – nine counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

Tanya SHWEDO, age 47, from Faraday Township has been arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon.

All four accused remain in custody pending upcoming court dates.

Jacob HOAG Charged At RIDE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A driver and passenger were both charged following a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in Simcoe.

On Monday, September 15, 2025, at approximately 12:22 a.m., Norfolk County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Norfolk Street North in Simcoe when they stopped a vehicle and assessed the driver for sobriety.

During the stop, officers determined the driver was operating the vehicle without insurance, while a passenger attempted to flee on foot. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

As a result, the driver, a 35-year-old Norfolk County resident, was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance,
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Provincial Offences Court in Simcoe at a later date.

Also charged is 29-year-old Jacob HOAG of Norfolk County with the following alleged offence:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

19 Year Old Arrested After Drinking

 (TILLSONBURG, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a traffic complaint, which resulted in several impaired driving related charges.

On September 14, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m., members of Oxford OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Lisgar Avenue in the Town of Tillsonburg.

As a result of the investigation, Joshua BANMAN, a 19-year-old resident of Delhi, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Operate a Vehicle with an Open Container of Liquor
  • Novice Driver BAC above 0

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on November 4, 2025.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again, And AGAIN! #3Strikes

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged an individual in relation to separate incidents.  

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a report of threats at a residence in Trenton. 

Kevin SCURRY, age 32, from Trenton was charged with the following offences:

  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – three counts
  • Causing a disturbance
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing.

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, the accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:  

  • Fail to comply with probation order – two counts
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario court of Justice in Belleville on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Drunk & Honking At Police In School Zone Triggers Arrest – Name Released

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Members of the Fort Frances Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.

On September 12th, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the Fort Frances OPP were conducting school zone patrols when a motor vehicle approached from behind and honked its horn at an officer. Officers assumed that the driver of the vehicle was asking for assistance or wanted to flag down police. Officers conducted a traffic stop and approached the driver.

Through investigation it was determined that the driver of the vehicle was impaired. As a result, Dennis FISK, 57, of Fort Frances was arrested and charged with:

·       Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·       Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Attempted Carjacking – Suspects At Large


(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – 
The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a reported attempted carjacking that occurred on September 7, 2025, at approximately 5:34 p.m.

On September 7, 2025, at approximately 5:34 p.m., a vehicle was approached by two unknown individuals near the intersection of Christine Street and Cameron Drive in Saugeen First Nation.

One suspect entered the front passenger side of the vehicle and brandished a knife, threatening the driver. The second suspect remained outside with a bicycle. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, managed to physically remove the suspect and was not injured.

Both suspects were described as wearing all black clothing and ski masks. One left the area on foot, while the other departed on a bicycle.

The Grey Bruce OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.

Isaak BUECKERT – Impaired Driving

 (NORWICH, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment detected an impaired driver while on general patrol.

On September 13, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of Oxford OPP initiated a traffic stop while on general patrol on Simcoe Street in the Township of Norwich.

As a result of the investigation, Isaak BUECKERT, a 39-year-old resident of Tillsonburg, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on October 28, 2025.

Police want to remind the public that no amount of alcohol or drugs is safe to consume prior to operating a vehicle.

Goderich Homeless Person With Gun & Amunition Arrested Is Repeat Offender #3Strikes


(GODERICH, ON) – 
The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident on Victoria Street South in the Town of Goderich. 

On Friday, August 29th, 2025, just after 3:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were contacted about an individual who reportedly made threats involving a weapon. Police subsequently located and arrested the individual. Officers located an imitation handgun loaded with pellet ammunition on the accused.

Logan LONDRY, 25 years-of-age of no fixed address has been charged with the following offences:

–      Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm,

–      Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose,

–      Breach of Recognizance – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Victim Sends Scammer $1000 For A Job (Hand or Blow?)

(TILLSONBURG, ON) – The Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an online fraud, in the Town of Tillsonburg.

On September 12, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., members of the Oxford OPP received a report from a member of the public that they were defrauded through an online job advertisement.

The victim reports learning about a work from home job opportunity through an advertisement on social media. The victim responded to the advertisement and communicated through a texting app, as requested by the suspected scammer.

After communicating for a couple of days, and sending a couple of e-transfers, amounting to just under $1000, the victim contacted police, suspecting a scam.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police want to remind the public to be careful sending money for anything they find online. There are reputable people and companies that use social media appropriately, but there also ones that try to take advantage of people.

Police Execute Home Invader After Family Dog Contains Invader In Basement #StandYourGround

(NIPIGON, ON) – A Nipigon couple sustained non-life-threatening injuries after a bear entered their home late on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

The incident occurred when the residents opened their back door to let their dog outside. A bear entered the home and attacked both individuals. The couple was able to retreat to a bedroom, where they barricaded themselves and called emergency services.

Responding Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers located the bear in the basement, where it was being contained by the family dog. Officers safely removed the homeowners from the residence, and they were transported to hospital for treatment.

The bear was dispatched without further incident to ensure public safety.

The OPP reminds the public that while bear intrusions into homes are rare, reports of sightings and encounters are becoming more frequent so far this fall. Residents are encouraged to stay “Bear Wise” by visiting ontario.ca/bearwise for tips and information.

22 Year Old Arrested After Rolling Over!

 (LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP., ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired after a single vehicle rollover.

On September 9, 2025, just after 10:00 p.m., OPP officers were dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch on Stafford Second line in Laurentian Valley Township. The lone person in the vehicle suffered no injuries. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Adam KLAWITTER, 22 years old, of Laurentian Valley Township was charged with impaired operation.

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on October 6, 2025.

Jeffrey MANN – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A motorist has been charged with impaired driving after being stopped at a RIDE program in Prince Edward County.

Officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, shortly after 12:00 a.m., on County Road 4.

A vehicle entered the RIDE program and officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver. As a result, the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jeffrey MANN, age 39 of Belleville, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on October 8, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Paul RENNA Was Arrested

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired operation following a report from a member of the public.

On September 15, 2025, at around 9:15 p.m., police responded to a complaint where a motorist was believed to be impaired in a commercial premises parking lot off Highway 401 eastbound in the Municipality of Port Hope.

Following speaking with the driver of the passenger vehicle, OPP began an impaired operation investigation which resulted in the person being taken into custody and transported to a detachment for further tests. Further investigation revealed the individual was in breach of court orders.

Paul RENNA (52) from Cambridge, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – three counts

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg. A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

If you know or suspect that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 9-1-1. In doing so, you may save a life. Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired and driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence. If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.
