Shelby LOACH – Hit & Run

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – The Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one driver with an impaired related offence after two separate collisions.

On November 27, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., OPP responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision, on Highway 11 in Temiskaming Shores. Officers responding came across a second collision on Highway 11 approximately five kilometers south of the initial collision.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving after the investigation revealed the same vehicle was involved on both collisions.

Shelby LOACH, 26-years-old, from Englehart was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Fail to remain

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on January 7, 2025.

Joseph DEWISPELAERE – Break & Enter, Etc.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged following a break and enter at a residence in the early morning hours yesterday, and one is still outstanding.

On November 27, 2024, just after 3:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter in progress on Line 87, in the Municipality of North Perth. Police arrived moments later, and one person was arrested at the scene, and another person fled on foot. A search was conducted with the assistance of the West Region OPP Canine Unit and the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), but the second person involved was not located.

Joseph DEWISPELAERE, 54, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Break, Enter a place – Commit indictable offence

–      Trespassing at Night

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges on January 13, 2025.

Man Slaughtered – Names Released

(GREY BRUCE, ON) – A third person has been charged in connection with a death investigation.

On March 28, 2022, emergency services responded to a 9-1-1 call after 23-year-old Corey SUTHERLAND was located deceased in a residence at a West Black Line, Grey Highlands address.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Grey Bruce Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service continued to investigate.

On November 27, 2024, police arrested and charged a third person in connection with this incident.

Charged with the following offences is 21-year-old Shakarri Myles Graham COLLINS-SALMON of Toronto, Ontario:

  • Manslaughter contrary to Section 236 (b) of the Criminal Code,
  • Traffic in Schedule I substance – Fentanyl, contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act,
  • Traffic in Schedule I Substance – Isotonitazene, contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Owen Sound on November 28, 2024.

Cameron PORTER Was Arrested Again

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in a Goderich theft investigation. 

On November 8, 2024, Huron County OPP received a theft report involving property stolen from a business located on Bayfield Road in Goderich.

As a result of the investigation, the suspect was identified, and an arrest was made on November 21, 2024.

Cameron PORTER, 30 years of age of No Fixed Address has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing where he was remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Jacob COCKRAM Was Arrested Again

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with criminal offences following a theft report on November 25, 2024, in the Municipality of Central Huron. 

At 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, Huron County OPP received a theft report involving cash stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Princess Street West in Clinton.

As a result of the investigation, a Central Huron resident was located shortly after and arrested for the theft.

Jacob COCKRAM, 34 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 6th, 2025.

Randy Switzer – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation on November 26, 2024 following a call for service regarding a motor vehicle.

On November 27, 2024, at approximately 6:31 pm, an off-duty OPP officer reported a possible impaired driver northbound on Highway 35 just south of Fenelon Falls. Officers responded to the call for service. A traffic stop was completed and officers entered into an impaired driving investigation.

Randy Switzer, 65-year-old of Fenelon Falls, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
  • Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and the drivers license was suspended for 90 days.

Mandeep WALIA – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – London driver charged in OPP Festive Ride program.

On November 23, 2024, at 8:21 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were engaged in a Festive Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Catherine Street in Thames Centre.

A vehicle entered the RIDE program, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Mandeep WALIA, a 40-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, Cannabis Control Act and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on January 9, 2025.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ARCHIPELAGO, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two people with drug related offences after a traffic stop on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township.

On November 9, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m. officers stopped the vehicle for stunt driving. The vehicle fled from police and was later located in the Town of Parry Sound. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating over $36,000 of Canadian currency and suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $11,000. 

Nathaneel PEARSON, 27-years-old from Toronto was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited – three counts
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Possession of schedule 1 substance – cocaine
  • Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Use plates not authorized for vehicle

Quiara JOSEPH, 24-years-old from Hamilton was arrested and charged with:

  • Flight from peace officer
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada

The accused persons were held for bail and will be returning before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on December 5, 2024.

Weapons Bust – 2 Arrested

(STONE MILLS TWP., ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) has seized weapons and recovered stolen property in Stone Mills Township, with two people facing charges.

CSCU members, officers with the Lennox and Addington County Detachment, began an investigation October 19, 2024, after a theft at a hunt camp. One person was arrested on November 21, 2024.

Robin BLUNDELL, age 40 of Yarker, was charged with:

  • Theft
  • Break and enter to commit an indictable offence
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

This accused was released from custody following a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee.

A second individual was arrested November 25, 2024, following another theft. During this arrest, officers seized a firearm and a replica firearm which had been converted to fire marbles.  

Jordan ROMBOUGH, age 34 of Yarker has been charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapons for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order – six counts
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Theft
  • Theft under $5000
  • Break and enter to commit an indictable offence – two counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Failure to comply with a probation order – nine counts

This accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Joshua FRANKS – Drunk Driving

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – Driver charged with impaired after traffic complaint at a business in Adelaide Metcalfe.

On November 25, 2024, at 9:25 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a business at 28610 Centre Road, Adelaide Metcalfe, for the report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Joshua FRANKS, a 33-year-old of Strathroy, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on January 28, 2025.

John TESSIER – Drunk Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON) – The Lakeshore detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a driver with impaired after responding to a collision.

On November 26, 2024, at 11:44 p.m., members of the Lakeshore OPP, were dispatched to Elmstead Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore for a report of a single vehicle collision.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local detachment.

As a result, John TESSIER, a 35-year-old of Lakeshore, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on December 13, 2024.

There were no injuries reported.

2 Arrested At RIDE

(AWERES TOWNSHIP, ON) – Two drivers are facing criminal charges after two separate checkpoints for Festive Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) north of Sault Ste. Marie.

On November 24, 2024, at approximately 3:45 a.m., officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting Festive RIDE on Highway 17 and Highway 556. Officers stopped multiple vehicles and conducted Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) tests on the drivers. During the RIDE, one driver failed the MAS test, indicating the presence of alcohol in their system. As a result of further investigation, Joseph DOIRON, 43 years-of-age, of Sault Ste. Marie was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Drive motor vehicle with cannabis readily available

On November 25, 2024, at approximately 2:38 a.m., officers with the Sault Ste. Marie OPP were conducting Festive RIDE on Highway 17 and Trout Lake Road. During the RIDE, one driver refused to provide a breath sample into the MAS device. As a result, Alain CARRIER, 31 years-of-age, of Sault Ste. Marie was arrested and charged with:

  • Refusal to comply with demand

Both accused parties were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 6, 2025 in Sault Ste. Marie. They were issued 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspensions and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.

Benjamin WHALEN – Aggravated Assault

(ESSEX, ON) – The Essex detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with aggravated assault after altercation.

On November 23, 2024, at 1:21 a.m., members of the Essex OPP, were dispatched to a residence in the community of McGregor in the Town of Essex for a report of an assault.

As a result of the investigation, Benjamin WHALEN, a 35-year-old from Essex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Aggravated Assault

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for their injuries.

Brandon BOULTON-MEREDITH – Drunk Driving

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police located and arrested an impaired driver while on patrol in the Town of Tillsonburg.

On November 26, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol in Tillsonburg when they encountered an impaired driver on Bidwell Street.

Brandon BOULTON-MEREDITH, a 35 years-of-age resident of Tillsonburg, was charged with the following charges:

  •              Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  •              Operation While Impaired
  •              Operation While Impaired -Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  •              Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock on January 7, 2025.

Fauquier-Strickland Was Arrested After Explosion #RepeatOffender

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – One person has been arrested for arson and breaching a probation order following an intimate partner violence investigation.

On November 26, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Kapuskasing Fire Department responded to a 911 call on Stewart Avenue in Kapuskasing.

A small propane canister was intentionally ignited, causing a loud explosion and damage to the interior of the residence. The complainant was able to extinguish the fire before it spread. Shortly afterward, police located and arrested the suspect, who had fled the scene before their arrival.

A 30-year-old from Fauquier-Strickland was charged with:

·        Arson – disregard for human life

·        Causing an explosion – likely to cause bodily harm, death, or serious damage to property

·        Mischief over $5000

·        Fail to comply with probation order – four counts

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to next appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on November 29, 2024.

Due to the intimate partner nature of the incident, the name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
