Jordan BARATTA – Drunk Driving

(LONDON, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after traffic stop.

On February 7, 2025, at 8:38 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle travelling on Wonderland Road South in City of London.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Jordan BARATTA, a 41-year-old of London has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on March 17, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

RAMEY Was Arrested

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On February 7, 2025 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a prowler in the area of Wellington Road 109 near First Line in Arthur.

It was reported that a person had been wandering onto several properties and acting in a suspicious manner. Police responded and arrested a suspect in the area.

Lloyd Nelson RAMEY 61-years-old of Arthur has been charged with Trespassing at Night and Obstruct Police. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph on March 14, 2025 to answer to the charges.

Sebastien LAVERGNE – Assault With Weapon

(PERTH, ON) – An Ottawa resident faces charges after an apparent case of road rage. 

Officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m. 

A vehicle was reported to be travelling on Highway 7 near Perth in a dangerous manner, which led to an alleged road rage incident. This involved one driver approaching the other with a hammer in a parking lot. No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Sebastien LAVERGNE, age 21, has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 3, 2025.

School Bus Driver Charged Following Collision

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) – A school bus driver is facing a charge under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) after the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a two-vehicle collision involving a school bus and an SUV. 

The UOV OPP were called to the collision at the intersection of Forest Lea Road and Doran Road at approximately 7:40 a.m. on February 7, 2025. Investigation found that the school bus failed to yield at the intersection and collided with an SUV.

The bus driver, a 37-year-old from Pembroke, has been charged with failing to yield under the HTA. There were no reported injuries from the occupants of either vehicle.

Melodie LAKING – Drunk Driving

(PETAWAWA, ON) – A Laurentian Valley Township resident is facing Criminal Code (CC) impaired driving charges after an incident in the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment area.

On the evening of February 7, 2025, members of the UOV OPP responded to reports of a possible impaired driver stuck in a snowbank on Achray Road near Doran Road in the Town of Petawawa. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment where readings in excess of two times the legal blood alcohol limit were obtained.   

As a result of this incident 50-year-old Melodie LAKING has been charged with the following CC offences:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 3, 2025.

William COTE Was Arrested

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after single-vehicle collision on Gore Road in Thames Centre.

On February 6, 2025, at 8:44 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Gore Road at Richmond Street in Thames Centre for report of a single vehicle collision.

The driver was located not far from the scene of the collision on foot, was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, William COTE, a 56-year-old of London has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on March 17, 2025.

There were no injuries reported.

Jacob MITCHELL Was Arrested

(HALIBURTON COUNTY, ON) – Officers from the Haliburton Highlands detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged another driver with impaired driving.

On February 9th, 2025, at approximately 1:43 a.m., Haliburton Highlands OPP were on general patrol in the Township of Minden Hills when they located a suspicious vehicle. Officers stopped and checked on the condition of the driver who was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver, police were led into an impaired driving investigation.   

As a result, 22-year-old Jacob MITCHELL of Minden was arrested and charged with:

Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden at a later date.

Mary FITZMORRIS Was Arrested Following Hit & Run

 (OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – One individual is facing multiple charges after failing to remain after a collision on Bell Street in the Town of Ingersoll.

 On February 9, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision.

 Two passenger vehicles collided.

 As a result of the investigation, Mary FITZMORRIS, 64-years-old, of the Town of Ingersoll has been charged with:

·      Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

·      Operation While Impaired

·      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Fail to Remain

·      Insecure Load

 No injuries were reported.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on March 25, 2025.

Kyle HENRY Arrested 2X In One Day In Goderich – #Catch&Release

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual from Huron County following incidents at two separate locations in the Town of Goderich on February 6th, 2025. 

On February 6th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by staff at the Goderich Hospital who reported an individual causing a disturbance and mischief on hospital property. Police attended and arrested the individual. Several charges were laid as follows:

Kyle HENRY, 58 years of age of no fixed address has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Causing a Disturbance,

–      Indecent Act – Public Place.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The accused was processed and held in custody for a bail hearing where they were later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 10th, 2025. 

On February 6th, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., Huron County OPP were contacted by staff at a Goderich retail store on Huron Road. An individual was reported to have committed a mischief while inside the store. The individual was identified as the same accused charged earlier in the day. The accused was located near the store and arrested by police. An additional charge against Kyle HENRY has been laid as follows:

–      Mischief Under $5,000.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 10th, 2025.

Farrah DIDUR – Drunk Driving

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation. 

On February 8, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment responded to a traffic complaint at a local business in the City of Dryden.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden detachment OPP Detachment for further testing.

Farrah DIDUR, 48-years-old, of Kenora, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation while impaired by blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on March 10, 2025.

Mobility Scooter Driver Facing Impaired Charge

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two drivers for impaired related offense, The drivers were involved in separate events.

On February 8, 2025 at 6:26p.m., the Huntsville OPP responded to a report of a female operating a mobility scooter in the area of King William Street, Huntsville, The female was apparently driving into oncoming traffic drinking a bottle of alcohol while operating her mobility scooter.

As a result of the investigation, Janet Carlsen, 61 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol/drugs

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand (Breath Sample)

The accused is set to appear in court March 18, 2025 at Ontario court of Justice in Bracebridge, Ontario,

On February 9, 2025 at 6p.m., the Huntsville OPP were dispatched to a vehicle that was driving erratically on Main Street West in Huntsville. Police located the vehicle partially stuck in a snowbank on Main Street West. Police noted the female driver to show signs of intoxication. The investigation resulted in the driver’s arrest and further breath testing where the driver was found to have over 3 times the legal limit of alcohol in their body.

Barbara Riewe, 62 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on March 11, 2025.

The accused vehicle was impounded for 7 days and they received a 90 Administrative Driver’s license Suspension.

 The public is reminded that a vehicle that is motor powered in any way, is considered a vehicle under the Criminal Code of Canada and any operator is subject to the laws surrounding impaired driving.  This includes scooters, mobility devices and e-bikes.

If you know or suspect that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 9-1-1. In doing so, you may save a life. Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired and driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence.

Kincardine Drunk Driver Arrested

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On February 7, 2025, at approximately 12:36 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol along 1st Avenue in Chesley. The Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) equipment in the cruiser alerted the officer to a licence plate that had previously been reported as stolen.

The investigating officer initiated a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle and spoke to the driver, discovering additional offences.

As a result of the investigation, Brian LLOYD, 58-years-old from the Municipality of Kincardine, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime, CC 354(1)(a)
  • Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1)
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice, on March 12, 2025.

2 Ditch Drunk Drivers Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have investigated two vehicles in the ditch this past weekend that led to the drivers being charged with impaired operation.

On February 8, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., an officer on patrol on Chinguacousy Road in Caledon came across a vehicle in the ditch. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

As a result of the investigation, RAVJEET SINGH, 28, of Brampton, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concertation (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol

On February 9, 2025, shortly after 4:00 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Old School Road, near Highway 10. During this interaction, the driver was arrested since grounds were formed that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol

As a result of the investigation, Justin HANS, 25, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concertation (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol

Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on February 27, 2025, to answer to the charges. The driver’s licences were also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicles were impounded for seven.

Joshua BURN – Impaired Driving

(Geraldton, ON) – Members of the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.  

On February 7th, 2025, at approximately 10:10 p.m., while on general patrol members of the Greenstone OPP Detachment observed a motor vehicle doing donuts at a local establishment. Officers then observed the vehicle on Main Street and initiated a traffic stop.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Joshua BURN, 39-years-old, of New Brunswick, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Adult Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on March 20th, 2025.

MACTAVISH Was Arrested Again – Details Released

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual from Huron County following a mischief to a Goderich bank automated teller machine (ATM) vestibule area in January 2025.

On January 31, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by bank staff who reported someone damaged the bank ATM area on January 30th. The suspect was identified by police but was not located at that time.

On February 08, 2025, officers located the suspect and made an arrest. They have been charged as follows:

Christopher MACTAVISH, 42 years of age from No Fixed Address has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative, or ineffective,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was processed and held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
