78 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(BRANT, ON) – On August 15, 2025, at approximately 7:48 a.m., members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver at a business located on Brant County Road 18.

Before officers arrived, concerned members of the public took decisive action to prevent the vehicle from leaving the parking lot, ensuring the safety of others on the road.

Following a police investigation, Manuel Escobar, 78, of Cambridge, was taken into custody and charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Driving a Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on August 28, 2025.

The OPP continues to prioritize road safety through proactive enforcement and public education. Impaired driving-whether by alcohol or drugs-remains one of the leading causes of serious collisions and fatalities on Ontario roadways.

Skateboarder Arrested For Drunk Driving – Name Released

(Red Lake, ON) Members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) engaged a male operating a OneWheel Electric Skateboard in Balmertown, Ontario.

On Friday, August 15th, 2025 at approximately 10 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on an erratic driver and an impaired driving investigation commenced. The operator was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code.

Kyle MELANSON, 36 years old of Balmertown, Ontario, was charged with:

–         Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

–         Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on September 18th, 2025. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

18 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges a young driver with several provincial offences.

On August 16, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a traffic enforcement initiative and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, which lead to a traffic stop being initiated on Wellington Road 17 in Mapleton Township. An abundance of alcohol was located within the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old from Arthur, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence and Control Act with:

  • Young Driver – Blood alcohol concentration above zero
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Drive with windshield coated – view obstruction
  • Entire plate not plainly visible
  • Improper mudguards

The alcohol was seized. As per statute, the driver received a 30-day and a 3-day license suspension and their vehicle was impounded for a period of 14 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph, at a later date.

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment has charged an individual following an assault investigation.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 8:41 p.m., members of the Elgin OPP were dispatched to an assault investigation on the beach in Port Stanley.

As a result, Goran BRATIC, 30-years-old from Kitchener was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault (two times)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

3 Teens & 20 Year Old Killed In Collision

(MOONBEAM, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) James Bay Detachment continue to investigate a fatal collision on Highway 11 near Moonbeam.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., officers responded to a motor-vehicle collision involving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and a Commercial Motor Vehicle.

As a result of the collision, four individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene: one 16-year-old and two 18-year-olds from Moonbeam, as well as one 20-year-old from Kapuskasing.

The investigation remains ongoing with the assistance of the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.

Christopher Coles Was Arrested Following Hit & Run

(BRANT, ON) The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid multiple charges following an investigation into a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 403 East at the Paris Road off-ramp.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., on August 15th, 2025, officers responded to a report of a fail-to-remain collision. Upon arrival, the complainant advised police that a white Honda Civic had struck his vehicle and fled the scene.

During the interaction, officers observed signs of impairment in the complainant. A roadside breath test was administered using an Alcohol Screening Device, resulting in a “fail” reading.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher Coles, 41, of Grand Bend, has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code.

  • Impaired Operation – 80+
  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand

The accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the involved vehicle was impounded.

Brandon KERR Was Arrested – SIU Invoke Silence & Mandate

(AMHERSTVIEW, ON) – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a motorcycle collision on Bath Road in Amethyst.

On Thursday, July 31, 2025, shortly after 1:30 p.m., the Lennox and Addington (L&A) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a fast-moving motorcycle travelling eastbound on Bath Road. Shortly after, another call was received reporting that the same motorcycle had been involved in a collision with a car at the intersection of Bath Road and Westfield Road. 

The motorcycle rider was transported to hospital by Frontenac Paramedics with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Brandon KERR, 23 years old of Odessa-Loyalist Township, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

17 Year Arrested For Assault With Weapon

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a family dispute in Mississippi Mills Township.

Lanark County OPP officers responded to a residence on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, just after 5:30 p.m., after receiving a complaint about a youth damaging property in the home. It was also discovered that the youth engaged in a physical altercation and damaged vehicles.

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old youth from Mississippi Mills Township, has been charged with:

·        Mischief – destroys property – two counts

·        Assault with a weapon

·        Assault

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

85 Year Old Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting Dog #StandYourGround

(BLUEWATER, ON) – On Wednesday, July 02, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault in the Municipality of Bluewater.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly assaulted a dog with a cane and attempted to assault the dog’s owner.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

George SMYTH, 85 years-of-age from Bluewater has been charged with:

–      Assault with a Weapon.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

More Impaired Charges: MESSAM, GILL & FOTSO MBE

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three drivers with alcohol related offences.

On August 2, 2025, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Caledon OPP officers were on general patrol in the area of Dixie Road and Mayfield Road, in the Town of Caledon. Officers located a stationary vehicle in the road, facing the opposite way of traffic flow. Investigating officers conducted a traffic stop upon the vehicle and subsequently formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Following the investigation, Tamika MESSAM, 34, of Newmarket, was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

On August 3, 2025, just before 4:00 a.m., Caledon OPP officers received a report of a single vehicle collision on Dotchson Avenue, near Kennedy Road, in the Town of Caledon. Officers arrived on scene and subsequently formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Gurtej GILL, 44, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Just hours later, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Caledon OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Boston Mills Road and Airport Road, in the Town of Caledon. Officers arrived on scene and began to investigate. Shortly after, officers formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Following the investigation, Rodrigue Yvan FOTSO MBE, 25, of Scarborough, was charged with:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

All accused parties are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on August 21, 2025, to answer to their charges. The vehicles were also impounded for a period of seven days, and their driver’s licences were suspended for a period of 90 days.

The OPP remains committed to keeping our communities safe through enforcement and public education. Penalties for failure or refusal to comply with demand are similar to those imposed upon a driver charged with operation while impaired. These penalties include an immediate 90-day licence suspension, seven-day vehicle impoundment, as well as licence reinstatement fees. Additional penalties are imposed upon conviction and increase for each proceeding offence.

Jamie LENG Was Arrested Again

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired by drug charge after traffic stop.

On August 19, 2025, at 12:44 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Medway Road in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle.

The vehicle turned onto Bear Creek Road at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Jamie LENG, a 41-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

·      Driving while under suspension (two counts)

The accused was held for bail.

Another Motorcyclist Airlifted To Hospital

(BOBCAYGEON, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Fire and EMS, attended the scene of a serious two-vehicle collision on County Road 49 in Bobcaygeon.

On Friday August 18,2025, at approximately 12:35 pm, the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP received a call related to a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on County Road 49, near Main Street, in Bobcaygeon. The motorcycle driver, a 56-year-old male from Burnt River, was taken to hospital but later airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-altering injuries.

County Road 49 was closed for several hours as members of the OPP’s Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) team attended the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation.

25 Year Old Arrested After Showing Erect Penis To 15 Year Old #PervertAlert

A Guelph man has been arrested after a teenaged employee of a south-end business was shown a pornographic image by an adult customer.

On August 1, a 15-year-old girl was working at the business when an adult male came in and started asking her about condoms and other products. The girl was uncomfortable with the male’s questions and her father, who works in the same business, intervened to deal with the customer.

While the father’s back was turned, the customer turned his phone toward the girl and showed her a photo of an erect penis. He then followed her and attempted to speak to her.

A 25-year-old Guelph man has been arrested for making sexually explicit material available to a child and criminal harassment. He will appear in court September 23.

19 Year Old Deceased – Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) – The cause of death has been confirmed in an ongoing investigation in the Greater Sudbury area.

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) received a call for service regarding an unresponsive individual at a residence in Lively. The individual, 19-year-old Roch (Rocco) Renaud of the City of Greater Sudbury, was transported to the hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assumed responsibility for the investigation on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the request of GSPS.

A postmortem was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS), and the cause of death has been determined to be Acute Carbon Monoxide Intoxication (carbon monoxide poisoning).

The investigation remains ongoing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the OFPS.

Barry ANDERSON Was Arrested For Impaired

(Red Lake, ON) Members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an individual after an impaired by Drug traffic investigation in Red Lake, Ontario.

On Sunday, August 17th, 2025 at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act violation. After further investigation, officers suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or a combination of both. A field sobriety test was conducted to which the driver performed poorly on. Further Drug Recognition Expert Tests were conducted while at the Detachment leading the officer to believe the accused was under the influence of a Central Nervous System Stimulant. The driver was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code.

Barry ANDERSON, 56 years old, of Red Lake, Ontario, was charged with:

–         Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on October 16th, 2025. The accused’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
