Repeat Offenders Arrested In Weapons Bust

(LENNOX & ADDINGTON COUNTY / FRONTENAC TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged four people after the execution of two search warrants.

On March 20, 2024, shortly before 8:00 p.m. a search warrant was executed at a residence on Flinton Road in Lennox & Addington County. One person was located in the residence and arrested. Police seized a crossbow, assorted ammunition, and a firearms magazine.

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Emily WOODCOCK, age 23, of Arden, Ontario, with:

  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on April 23, 2024.

On March 20, 2024, shortly after 10:00 p.m. a search warrant was executed at a residence on Queen Street in Arden. Three people were located in the residence and arrested. Police seized a long gun, and a crossbow.

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Dylan GODFREY-KELLAR, age 28, of Kingston, Ontario, with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Fail to comply with release order – other than attend court – two counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Jeremy TEEPLE, age 46, of Arden, Ontario, with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Fail to comply with release order – other than court

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Patrick FRENCH, age 31, of Central Frontenac Township, Ontario, with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The three accused were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.

Smash & Grab @ Weed Store – James FARR Arrested Again

On March 26, 2024 at approximately 2:30 a.m. a man used a rock to smash through the front bay window of a Cannabis Retail business in Owen Sound. The man entered the store and proceeded to steal property including I Pads. The man climbed back through the window and
fled from the area.

Owen Sound Police investigated, and with the assistance of video surveillance footage from the business, were able to identify the suspect based on several recent arrests of the same individual for previous property crimes. Just after 8:30 a.m. a patrolling officer located and arrested the suspect in the area of 16 th Street and 16 th Avenue East. The man proceeded to provide police with a fictitious identity. The man
was searched and found in possession of two stolen IPad’s from Cannabis store.

The accused, 29-year-old James FARR, of no fixed address, was charged with Break, Enter and Commit Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Obstructing a Peace Officer. FARR was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(SMITHS FALLS, ON) – The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine, and the OPP Tactical Response Unit (TRU) assisted Smiths Falls Police Service (SFPS) with the execution of a warrant for a subject who was believed to be armed and barricaded in the Town of Smiths falls.

On March 21, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service requested assistance from the OPP on Lavina Street. OPP attended the location and multiple police resources worked together to locate a wanted individual; however, the accused was not located.

Police later located the accused at a residence on Parkland Court in the Town of Smiths Falls.

The accused was transported to hospital for unrelated injuries.

Caleb Mitchell BENNETT, 34 years old of South Elmsley Township was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with:

·      Mischief Under $5000

·      Failure to comply with a release order- other than to attend court- two counts

The accused is being held for bail and is scheduled to appear in Brockville Court on March 22, 2024.

$300,000 Drug Bust

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – In early 2024, the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted an investigation into drug trafficking through-out the District of Muskoka.

On March 20th and 21st, 2024, with the assistance of theCentral Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit, and Bracebridge Detachment officers, investigators executed five search warrants, two in the Town of Bracebridge and three withinthe City of Toronto. As a result of the investigation, police seized a quantity of fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, various prescription medications, a large quantity of cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.The estimated street value of the drugs seized is in excess of $300,000. 

As a result of the investigation, the following accused were arrested and face the following charges:

Repeat Offender Arrested Again – Meth A Factor

(PEMBROKE, ON) – A local individual is facing drug possession charges after a trespassing incident was reported in Pembroke.

On the evening of March 9, 2024, officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended an apartment building on Elizabeth Street in Pembroke in response to a trespassing complaint. Police located an individual who was trespassing and took them into custody. Suspected fentanyl and methamphetamines were seized during the investigation.  

Richard FARR Jr., age 36 of Laurentian Valley Township, has been charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), Criminal Code (CC) and Trespass to Property Act (TPA) offences:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance – fentanyl
  • Fail to comply with probation – three counts
  • Enter premises when entry prohibited

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until their next appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 3, 2024.

Repeat Offenders Arrested In Meth Bust

(SABLES-SPANISH RIVERS TOWNSHIP, ON) – Two people have been charged after a search warrant was executed in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.

On March 19, 2024, shortly after 8:00 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of members of the Manitoulin OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on Young Street.

Police arrested two people and located suspected methamphetamine and ecstasy. Police also located a firearm, ammunition, digital scale, packing material, and over $1,500 in Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, Zachary DELISLE, 37-years-old, from Sables-Spanish Rivers Township has been charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order – two counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on March 28, 2024.

Darwin FLAMAND, 30-years-old, from Sables-Spanish Rivers Township has been charged with fail to comply with Probation Order. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on April 15, 2024.

Ian HOPPER Arrested Again – Break & Enter

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid several charges against a local resident after a recent break, enter and theft.   

The UOV OPP began investigating a break, enter and theft that took place on the morning of March 12, 2024. A garage at a residence on River Road in Pembroke was entered and an assortment of hand and power tools were stolen including an air compressor and reciprocating saw. An OPP Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) assisted with the investigation.   

As a result of this incident 48-year-old Ian HOPPER of Petawawa has been arrested and charged following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Theft under $5000
  • Breach of probation – three counts

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 23, 2024.

Repeat Offenders Arrested Again – Meth A Factor

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Three individuals were charged following an investigation into drug trafficking and the execution of a search warrant at a residence by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

At approximately 6:05 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU executed a search warrant at a residence on Kent Street North in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

During the search, officers discovered and seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and Clonazepam, along with an imitation handgun, other weapons, ammunition, Canadian currency, and drug paraphernalia. Additionally, three stolen bicycles were recovered.

Photographs depicting the seized and recovered items are included for reference.

As a result, three individuals were taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 38-year-old Jacob HEINRICHS of Norfolk County:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon (two counts),
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (two counts),
  • Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose,
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada (two counts),
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (two counts),
  • Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,

  • Fail to comply with Probation Order.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 49-year-old Marsha ELLWOOD of Norfolk County:

Charged with the following alleged offences is 58-year-old Terry RACHAR of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

The accused individuals were detained in custody to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.

3 Criminals Caught On Camera – TRUDEL, HINES & KALU

(BLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of officers from the Sudbury Detachment of the OPP have arrested and charged three people with break and enter as well as multiple other offences.

On March 17, 2024, officers were called to a seasonal cottage after the owner observed people breaking into his cottage on security cameras. The owner of the cottage also called nearby neighbours who attended the cottage and prevented two suspects from leaving until police arrived. A third suspect fled on foot but was located nearby a short time later.   

As a result of the investigation three people were arrested:

Derrick TRUDEL, a 32-year-old person from North Bay was charged with:

  • Break and enter into a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • Disguise with intent
  • Failure to comply with release order – two counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Mischief under $5,000

Brandon HINES, a 29-years-old person from North Bay was charged with:

  • Break and enter into a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • Unlawfully in a dwelling house
  • Disguise with intent
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Mischief under $5,000  

Ugo KALU, a 37-years-old person from Sturgeon Falls was charged with, break and enter into a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence.

All three accused were held for bail and remanded into custody. Derrick TRUDEL and Ugo KALU are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 20, 2024. Brandon HINES is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 21, 2024.

Hwy 11 Meth Bust – Names Released

(CALDER TOWNSHIP, ON) – Two people were arrested after police conducted a routine traffic stop.

On March 11, 2024, shortly before 8:00 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had no lights to the rear, on Highway 11 between Cochrane and Smooth Rock Falls. An investigation led to the arrest of the two occupants, and a subsequent search of the vehicle.

Police seized drugs suspected to be methamphetamine tablets, cannabis resin (hash), as well as bear spray, a large kitchen knife, and a small quantity of Canadian currency. A total estimated value of the seizure was $1700.

As a result of this investigation, Jonathan FORGER-HOTTE, 29-years-of-age of Mont Laurier, QC was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking a schedule I substance – Methamphetamines
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines
  • Possession of a prohibited device for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a prohibition order – five counts
  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Further, Frederic PRIVE, 32 years-of-age of Saint Colomban, QC was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking a schedule I substance – Methamphetamines
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines
  • Possession of a prohibited device for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • No clear view to the sides
  • Drive without proper rear lights
  • No clear view to the rear

Both accused persons were released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 9, 2024 in Cochrane.

Matthew HAASEN Arrested Again

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin County (Chatham) Detachment has charged an individual following a suspicious person investigation.

On March 17, 2024, at approximately 00:15 a.m., a member of the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) initiated an investigation after locating a pedestrian insufficiently dressed for weather conditions and walking in complete darkness on Communication Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent while on patrol.

The investigating officer, concerned for the safety of the pedestrian, stopped to assist the individual. The officer determined the identity of pedestrian and discovered that individual was violating conditions of an existing release order.

The pedestrian was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, Matthew HAASEN, a 30-year-old of Dresden was charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (Two Counts)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently, remanded into custody.

Repeat Offender Paul CATENA Arrested Again

(GREATER NAPANEE, ON) – The East Region County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located and arrested a male who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

On March 14, 2024, just before 11:00 am CSCU members located the male in Springside Park in Greater Napanee. CSCU members arrested the male and during a search incidental to arrest police found approximately 1 gram of suspected fentanyl and a digital scale.

As a result of the investigation, Paul CATENA, 38 years old, of Greater Napanee, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance – opioid
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The accused was remanded into custody after being held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.

Epidemic Of Spousal Abuse – Arthur, Harriston, Minto, Guelph, Wellington North, Center Wellington

On January 28, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an Intimate Partner Violence (I.P.V.) investigation in the Town of Minto. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old male from Harriston, has been charged with two counts of Spousal Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Mischief, and Utter Threats to Cause Death contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for bail.

On January 29, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Township of Centre Wellington. As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old male from Guelph, has been charged with Spousal Assault, and Sexual Assault. The accused was held for bail. 

On January 31, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Township of Wellington North. As a result of the investigation, a 60-year-old male from Township of Wellington North, has been charged with Spousal Assault. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date. 

On February 1, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Township of Centre Wellington. As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old male from Centre Wellington, has been charged with Spousal Assault, mischief, and breach of recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for bail.

On February 10, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Township of Centre Wellington. As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old male from Guelph, has been charged with Spousal Assault and public mischief, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

On February 10, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Town of Minto. As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old female from Palmerston, was charged with Spousal Assault and Mischief, contrary to the criminal code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

On February 11, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Township of Wellington North. As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old female from Arthur, has been charged with Mischief, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

On February 21, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Town of Minto. As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old male from Harriston, has been charged with Spousal Assault and Mischief, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

On February 22, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Township of Center Wellington. As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old male from Bellwood, has been charged with two counts of Spousal Assault. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

On February 24, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Town of Minto. As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old male from Harriston, has been charged with Spousal Assault and Assault Cause Bodily Harm, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

On February 24, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Township of Washington north. As results of the investigation a 39-year-old male from Wingham, was charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking and Failure to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for bail.

On February 29, 2024, Wellington County OPP entered into an I.P.V. investigation in the Township of Centre Wellington. As a result of the investigation, a 64-year-old male from Southgate, has been charged with Spousal Assault contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for bail.

Repeat Offender Arrested Near Goderich – PATTISON – Details Released

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Sarnia area resident with several criminal offences following a traffic stop on Friday March 1st, 2024. 

Police were patrolling and using speed measuring equipment on Bluewater Highway, south of Goderich in the Municipality of Central Huron at 3:25 p.m. on March 1st, 2024. A northbound motor vehicle on Bluewater Highway was travelling more than 160 km/hr in the posted 80 km/hr speed zone. The investigating officer attempted to stop the offending vehicle, however the driver failed to stop and attempted to evade police. Officers patrolled the area and were able to locate the suspect vehicle in a parking lot in the Town of Goderich.

The driver exited the vehicle and was placed under arrest. Officers had reason to believe the driver was impaired and they were transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for breath tests before an OPP qualified breath technician which resulted in breath samples exceeding the legal limit.

Brian PATTISON, 25 years of age from Sarnia has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

–      Operation while Prohibited – (two counts),

–      Flight from Peace Officer,

–      Dangerous Operation,

–      Fail to Comply with Release Order.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where he was remanded into custody. The accused has a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Repeat Offender Cody BROOKS Arrested Again – Meth A Factor

(GREATER NAPANEE, ON) – The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a male for multiple offenses.

On March 13, 2024, just before 10:00 pm CSCU members located a male who was walking on John Street in Greater Napanee. CSCU members arrested the male and during a search incidental to arrest police found approximately 24 grams of suspected cocaine, 2 grams of suspected fentanyl, 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine, a cell phone, digital scales, plastic bags, and cash were also seized.

As a result of the investigation, Cody BROOKS, 29 years old, of Greater Napanee, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – two counts

The accused was released from custody after being held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.
