Repeat Offender Matthew SHEA Arrested

(LAURENTIAN HILLS, ON) – An Ottawa man is facing four Criminal Code (CC) charges after a break-in and thefts from a gas station in Rolphton.

On October 7, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a gas station in Rolphton in Laurentian Hills after a break and enter was discovered. Entry had been made to the store and alcohol was stolen during the overnight hours. A short time later police located the suspect at a nearby motel and took them into custody. 

As a result of the investigation Matthew SHEA, age 39 of Ottawa, was charged with the following CC offences:

  • Break and enter a place – commit an indictable offence
  • Theft under $5000

The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.   

Later that morning, at approximately 10:15 a.m., police were called back to the gas station after it was reported that the accused had returned, and more alcohol was stolen.  

The accused was arrested again and further charged with the following CC offences:

  • Failure to comply with undertaking
  • Theft under $5000

The accused was held for a bail hearing, and subsequently released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on November 18, 2024.

Repeat Offenders Arrested Again

(TWEED, ON) – The Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people after a stolen vehicle ended up in a ditch along Highway-7.

Officers responded to a complaint regarding a dangerous driver shortly after 12:30 this morning (October 8, 2024) along on Highway-7 in the Tweed area.

Officers quickly located the vehicle, observed it for a short time and then attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle fled at extremely high speeds. The officers did not engage in a pursuit in the interest of public safety.

The mini-van was located in the ditch a short distance away.

Two people, a male and a female, were found in the vehicle, along with traces of methamphetamine and drug-use paraphernalia. The vehicle had been stolen earlier. The two individuals were transported to hospital as a precaution and were returned to police custody.

A 16-year-old female is charged with:

  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Theft of a vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

A 22-year-old male has been charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – two counts
  • Failure to comply with a release order

Both of the accused remain in custody with bail hearings scheduled for today before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

Corey Robinson Was Arrested Again

(ESSA, ON)-The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged two individuals in relation to a stolen motor vehicle investigation.

On October 6, 2024 at around 9:38 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP received information about a stolen motor vehicle from the area of 11th Line and 25 Sideroad, Essa that had two occupants inside of the motor-vehicle. As a result of police efforts, around 9:58 a.m., the stolen vehicle was observed by members of the Nottawasaga OPP in Essa Township. Subsequently, Police recovered the motor vehicle and located two people inside.

As a result of the investigation, two people have been arrested and charged.

Susana Sobey, a 52- year-old female from Adjala-Tosorontio Township has been charged with:

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000

The accused is being held pending a bail hearing..

Corey Robinson, a 41-year-old male from Penetanguishene has been charged with:

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000

·      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is being held pending a bail hearing.

Tyler SYLVESTER – Was Arrested Again

On October 2, 2024 at approximately 7:06 a.m. Southern Georgian Bay Detachment officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver behind the steering wheel of a white and black Mini Cooper in the Huronia Mall, Midland parking lot. The vehicle was stopped by dispatched officer at 7:07 a.m. and located the driver slumped over the steering wheel. The officer was able to awaken the driver who was known to officer and attempted to flee the scene once out of the car. An impaired driving investigation was commenced at the scene resulting in the seizure of an edged weapon and a quantity of drugs believed to be fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.

The investigating officer was assisted by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer with the Impaired Operation investigation. The Mini Cooper vehicle used in the incident had been reported stolen at 12:41 p.m. October 2, 2024 from a Hugel Avenue, Midland residence and as a result of this investigation the following charges have been issued to Tyler SYLVESTER 31 years of Penetanguishene.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

And Further

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs

Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused was also identified as the outstanding second person in the ongoing break/enter & theft investigation at a Midland restaurant that occurred on September 29, 2024 and has been further charged with the following offences in relation to that investigation..

  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice  on October 2, 2024.

Justin GORDON Was Arrested Again

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual with failing to comply with their release order following an incident in the City of Dryden.

On October 2, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m. officers responded to a call for service on Queen Street in the City of Dryden.

As a result of the investigation, Justin GORDON, 32-year-old of Wabigoon Lake First Nation has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:  

·        Failure to comply with release order-other than to attend court -three counts

The accused has been held in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 3, 2024.

Christopher Robin MACLEOD Was Arrested Again

(MIDLAND,ON) – Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment have made an arrest in a recent break and enter to a Midland waterfront restaurant.

Officers responded to a report of a break / enter & theft to a King Street, Midland restaurant which occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m. September 29, 2024 involving two persons in which a significant amount of liquor was stolen.

Through investigation using electronic surveillance, one person was identified and charged after being located later in the morning intoxicated at a nearby coffee shop. Officers continue to investigate in an effort to identify the second involved person.

Charged is Christopher Robin MACLEOD 50 years of Midland with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Mischief Under $ 5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice  at a future date.

Repeat Offender Jonathan SYLVESTER Arrested Again, & Again

(MIDLAND,ON) – Officers attached to the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment arrested a Christian Island male twice overnight as they investigated several theft related calls for service from community members in the Town of Midland.

A community member called the OPP Communication Centre at approximately 9:36 p.m. September 27, 2024 reporting the theft of a Black Ford Fusion that was parked in a Midland restaurant parking lot.

Through investigation, the vehicle was located parked on the street in front of a Ottawa Street, Midland residence. Through further investigation with the assistance of video surveillance, officers were able to identify a suspect who is known to police. The suspect was located a short time later at a Seventh Street Midland address and arrested. Further investigation upon arrest resulted in the recovery of stolen property from the vehicle including the owners identification and credit cards. The accused was later released from police custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  at a future date.

Later in the evening at approximately 12:09 a.m. September 28, 2024, officers were dispatched to the Seventh Street, Midland area after the OPP Communication Centre received a report from a community member reporting a suspicious person entering and attempting to enter parked cars in the area. Officers were able to locate and arrest a person in the area matching the provided description who was the accused in the earlier vehicle theft.

Charged in connection to these investigations is Jonathan SYLVESTER 36 years of Christian Island with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada (two counts)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (six counts)

And Further

  • Trespassing at Night
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Failure to comply with undertaking
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (four counts)

The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice  at a future date.

Jordan HELMER-TAYLOR Was Arrested Again

 (OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police were called to an address in the Town of Tillsonburg for a theft investigation that resulted in multiple charges.

On Thursday September 26, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members from the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to an address on John Pound Road in the Town of Tillsonburg for a theft investigation.

Jordan HELMER-TAYLOR, a 23 years-of-age resident of Tillsonburg was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (three counts)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)

The accused has been held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Nathan FONTAINE Was Arrested Again

(MIDLAND,ON) – Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment  responded in the afternoon of September 16, 2024 to report by Midland Foodland store security of the theft of a large box of beer by a known Midland resident.

The dispatched officer through investigation was able to confirm the identify the suspect and the accused was later arrested in the morning hours of September 26, 2024, while riding his bicycle on Hartman Drive, Midland.

Charged is Nathan FONTAINE 32 years with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

  • Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was released from police custody and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice  on November 7, 2024

Dustin RICHARDSON Was Arrested Again

(BROCKTON, ON) – On September 23, 2024, at 4:32 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen pick-up truck, taken from an address along Concession 12 in the Municipality of Brockton.

The vehicle was later located along McNab Street in Walkerton where one individual was placed under arrest.  

As a result of the investigation, Dustin RICHARDSON, 34-years-old from North Perth, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft over $5,000 – CC 334(a)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime – CC 354(1)(a)
  • Fail to comply with probation – CC 733.1(1)
  • Driving while under suspension – HTA 53(1)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later released from custody. The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on October 23, 2024.

Hailey Debungie Was Arrested Again

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On September 17th, 2024, at approximately 10:35 p.m. members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Williams Avenue in the Town of Fort Frances.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, Hailey Debungie, 23-years-old, of Fort Frances, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

· Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drug

. Operation While Impaired – over 80

· Driving while Prohibited

. Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x2)

. Fail to Comply with Release Order

The accused was also issued several Provincial Offence Notices. The accused has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on September 19th, 2024.

Stephaine THOMAS Was Arrested Again

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – One arrested during a RIDE program for drug related offences and additional charges.

On September 18th, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m. Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 35.

Officers briefly spoke to the driver of the vehicle before asking them to pull over to the shoulder for further investigation.

The driver couldn’t provide the Officer with proper documentation for operating a motor vehicle.

After further investigation, it was found that the driver was suspended from operating a motor vehicle and was on conditions by the courts.  

Officers seized suspected 3 g of crack cocaine from the vehicle.

37-year-old Stephaine THOMAS from Lindsay was arrested and charged with

–      Possession of a schedule l substance – Cocaine

–      Failure to comply with release order

–      Failure to comply with release order

–      Driving while under suspension

The accused was transported by Officers and held for bail.

Nathan CHAMBERS Was Arrested Again

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On September 18, 2024, at 4:52 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen pick-up truck with attached livestock trailer, taken from an address along Sideroad 15 North in the Municipality of Kincardine.

The vehicle was abandoned in the area of Bervie Sideroad and Concession 5; the driver then fled on foot. OPP Canine and members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) were called to assist. An individual was later located and placed under arrest. 

As a result of the investigation, Nathan CHAMBERS, 27-years-old from North Huron, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft over $5,000 – CC 334(a)
  • Dangerous Operation – CC 320.13(1)
  • Operation While Prohibited – CC 320.18(1)(a)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – CC 733.1(1) – two counts
  • Theft under $5,000 – CC 334(b)
  • Driving while under suspension – HTA 53(1)
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking – CC 145(4)(a)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Mark DA SILVA Was Arrested Again

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following a break-and-enter investigation in Simcoe.

At approximately 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a break-and-enter in progress on Sheridan Boulevard in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that an individual had unlawfully entered a residence on the property and fled on foot after being confronted by the homeowners. No items were reported missing or stolen from the residence.

Just before 7:00 a.m., patrolling officers located an individual matching the suspect’s description at an address on Oakwood Avenue in Simcoe, Norfolk County. The individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 45-year-old Mark DA SILVA of Norfolk County:

  • Unlawfully in dwelling house,
  • Trespassing at night,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

John BHUMIRATANA Facing Numerous Charges

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver following a traffic complaint involving dangerous driving and theft.

On September 17, 2024, shortly before 4:00 p.m., OPP responded to reports of a vehicle being driven dangerously and hitting a guardrail on Highway 62 in Bancroft. The vehicle was located at a nearby gas station, where employees alerted police that the driver had stolen items from the store.

John BHUMIRATANA, a 41-year-old resident of Bancroft, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Adult Dangerous Operation
  • Adult Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting
  • Adult Operation While Impaired – Drug
  • Adult Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid
  • Adult Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent
  • Adult Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 18, 2024, to address the criminal charges.
