Update – Missing Person Located

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have located missing person Shannon Isaacs age 80 of Arnprior Ontario.

Isaacs returned to her residence at 8:00am this morning and is in good health.

DRIVER CHARGED IN TWO VEHICLE COLLISION

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On June 9, 2014, just before 6:00 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers and Chatham-Kent Fire Department responded to a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 401 near Victoria Road.

The collision occurred when an eastbound Freightliner tractor trailer struck the rear of another eastbound tractor trailer. The driver of the Freightliner pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway, and the tractor portion of the Freightliner caught fire. Chatham-Kent Fire Department extinguished the fire. Due to damage to the roadway caused by the fire, the right lane of the highway was closed for several hours to allow for emergency road repair.

The male driver of the Freightliner, 25 year old Abobaker SHAM, from Scarborough, has been charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

No injuries were reported.

Missing Person

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are searching for a missing person Shannon Isaacs age 80 who was last seen at her place of residency the Island View Estates Retirement Home in Arnprior Ontario.

Isaacs is a female, white Caucasian, with blond hair and is 5 feet 4 inches in height.

She was last seen in her room at the retirement home at approximately 9:30pm on the 11th of June 2014.

UPDATE – ADDITIONAL CHARGES IN AGGRAVATED SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

(STIRLING, ON) – On May 23, 2014 Central Hastings Detachment Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) launched an investigation into a report of a sexual assault.

On May 24, 2014 officers arrested and charged 42-year-old Nicholas CZAIKOWSKY of Stirling, ON with two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault in relation to 2 female victims.

On June 10, 2014, the OPP laid additional charges in relation to 10 additional victims.

CZAIKOWSKY now stands charged with 11 counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault, and one count of Sexual Assault. Two (2) charges of Fail to Comply with Direction in Detention Order were also laid.

Investigators released a photograph of the accused for the purposes of identification. He is known to communicate on internet dating sites and frequent both the Barrie and Sudbury areas. OPP INVESTIGATE ASSAULT IN PICKLE LAKE

(PICKLE LAKE, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Pickle Lake Detachment and North West Region Crime Unit are currently investigating an assault which took place on June 7, 2014 at a residence on Lakeview Crescent in Pickle Lake.

The female victim of the assault was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The assailant has not been identified and there are no descriptors at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.

CORRECTION-MALE ARRESTED IN ROBBERY INCIDENT OUTSIDE OF ORILLIA BANK

Time of incident was 12:44 p.m.

(ORILLIA, ON) – On June 11, 2014 at approximately 12:44 p.m., Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the report of a robbery outside of an Orillia bank.

Officers attended outside of the Bank of Montreal at West Street and Mississaga Street and were advised that a male had stolen a bag of money from a customer that had just left the bank. Officers flooded the area and arrested a male party not far from the scene. The bag containing the money was recovered.

MALE ARRESTED AFTER POLICE OFFICER ASSAULTED

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment arrested a 33 year old male after interaction with police at a Cedar Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers were on patrol when they stopped to interact with a suspicious male.

While dealing with the male, he became involved in a verbal confrontation with officers which then turned into a physical altercation.

As a result of police investigation a male was subsequently arrested.

Charged with the following offences is 33 year old Mark William Patrick MACLAUGHLIN of Norfolk County, Ontario.

Assault a Peace Officer

Disarming a Peace Officer

Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Mischief Under $5000

Fail to comply with Probation Order X2

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.

Break and Enter

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Haldimand County detachment is investigating a break and enter at a Main St. Dunnville, Haldimand County, ON address.

Sometime during the late evening hours of Monday June 9th to the early morning hours of Tuesday June 10th, 2014 unknown(s) attend the Main St address and forced open an entrance door to the business of Thomas Main Ltd. Once inside the business 2 welders, a grinder, drill and various pieces of scrap copper and bronze was located and removed. Value of the theft is approximately $17,000.00 dollars.

OPP INVESTIGATING MISCHIEFS AFTER VEHICLES SPRAY PAINTED

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating acts of mischief at a Colborne Street North, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknown suspects attended several addresses and proceeded to spray paint the rear of vehicles parked in the driveways of different residences.

The damage is estimated at approximately $1,000 dollars.

The OPP want to remind all residents that if they see anything suspicious to please contact the police. If anyone is found committing acts of Mischief, appropriate charges will be laid.

Break and Enter Foodbank

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment is investigating a break and enter at a McKay St Cayuga, Haldimand County, ON address.

Sometime during the late evening hours of Saturday June 07th to the early morning hours of Sunday June 8th, 2014 unknown(s) attended the Cayuga Foodbank and forced open an entrance door. Once inside the business many of the rooms were ransacked with some frozen foods being removed from the freezer and left on the floor. It appears that a telephone was removed from the building.

DRIVER CHARGED IN SINGLE MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On June 11, 2014, just after 3:00 a.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a collision involving a single motor vehicle on Highway 401 at Kent Bridge Road exit.

The collision occurred when a tractor trailer left the roadway as it was exiting the highway on the off ramp at Kent Bridge Road. The vehicle then flipped over and came to rest in the ditch.

The male driver, 58 year old Parmjit Singh DIO, from Brampton, has been charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

No injuries were reported.

The westbound on and off ramps at Kent Bridge Road are scheduled to be closed starting at 1:00 p.m. today for an undetermined amount of time to facilitate off loading and removal of the tractor trailer.

ORILLIA OPP CHARGE FOUR MORE IMPAIRED DRIVERS

(ORILLIA, ON) – On June 6, 2014 at approximately 10:55 a.m., Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were notified of a possible impaired driver on Highway 11 north in Oro Medonte. The vehicle was located on Memorial Avenue in Orillia and the driver was arrested.

Lynne SINCLAIR, 63 years old of Toronto, was charged with Impaired Driving by Drug. She was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in Orillia later this month.

On June 6, 2014 at approximately 11:05 p.m., Orillia OPP officers were notified of a possible impaired driver leaving a licenced establishment in the City of Orillia. Officers located the vehicle on Front Street and the male driver was arrested for impaired driving.

Richard COLBOURN, 57 years old of Kanata, was charged with Impaired Driving of a Motor Vehicle and Failing to Provide a Breath Sample. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in Orillia on June 24, 2014.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 8:57 p.m., Orillia OPP officers were notified of a motor vehicle collision on Carlyon Line near Division Road in Severn Township. When officers arrived at the scene of the collision, the driver of one of the vehicles failed a road side screening device test and was arrested. The driver of the vehicle was transported back to Orillia detachment where he refused to provide a sample of his breath for a second test.

Curtis WENDELS, 20 years old of Severn Township, was charged with Failing to Provide a Breath Sample.

On June 8, 2014 at approximately 6:30 a.m., Orillia OPP officers were notified of a possible impaired driver on Memorial Avenue, in the City of Orillia. Officers located the vehicle and the male driver was arrested for impaired driving.

Brayden BAX, 24 years old of Orillia, was charged with Impaired Driving of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in Orillia on June 24, 2014.

THUNDER BAY OPP INVESTIGATE FATAL COLLISION EAST OF PASS LAKE

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On Wednesday, June 11 2014, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle fatal collision on Highway 11/17 just east of Pass Lake.

Shortly after midnight this date two commercial motor vehicles collided head on and subsequently became engulfed in flames. Police and fire responded to the scene and closed the highway to extinguish the fire and conduct the investigation into the collision. The investigation is continuing. It has been confirmed that there are three deceased.

Highway 11/17 has been opened to one lane of traffic. It is expected to be fully open by the end of the day.

BREAK AND ENTER RESULTS IN CHARGES

(COBALT, ON) Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an alarm on June 6, 2014 at approximately 3:23 a.m.

Police arrived at the Cobalt Mining Museum and observed broken glass at the premise. The suspect(s) had departed upon police arrival. Through investigation two men face charges.

Lyle ASH, 21, of Cobalt is charged for Break and Enter section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code and Fail to Comply with Probation section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

Luc BEDARD, 21, of Cobalt is charged for Break and Enter section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code and Mischief section 430(4) of the Criminal Code.

Both accused will appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on July 29, 2014.
