Cohen BROWN Was Arrested

(ORILLIA, ON) – A traffic complaint by a member of the public has led to an impaired arrest by the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On February 1, 2025, just before 8:30 pm, officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Gloucester Road near Vasey Road in Severn Township, for a vehicle was stuck in a snowbank. The witness believed that the driver was showing signs of intoxication. Upon arriving at scene, officers located the driver in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and entered into an impaired operation investigation. The accused was arrested and transported back to the Orillia Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Cohen BROWN, 23-year-old from Sudbury, has been charged with the following:

·        Operation while Impaired (CC),

·        Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand (CC), and

·        Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor (LLCA)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia at a later date. Their driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two drivers for impaired related offense, The drivers were involved in separate events.

On January 29, 2025 at 7:10p.m. police were dispatched to a local restaurant off Howland Dr in Huntsville after a driver put their vehicle in motion and it struck the building. The investigation revealed the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Benjamin LONGPRE, 42 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 25, 2025.

The accused vehicle was impounded for 7 days and they received a 90 Administrative Driver’s license Suspension.

On January 29, 2025 at 8:59p.m., the Huntsville OPP were dispatched to a vehicle that was struck in a snow bank on Muskoka Rd 3 North in Huntsville. Upon arrival, police spoke with a witness who indicated they believed the driver was intoxicated.

As a result of the investigation, Tiffany GALLANT-MACEDO, 38 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on March 11, 2025.

The accused vehicle was impounded for 7 days and they received a 90 Administrative Driver’s license Suspension.

Both of these events could have easily been avoided had the drivers planned ahead before consuming alcohol or drugs. Don’t include drinking in any plans to drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another option that takes driving out of the picture altogether.

4 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged four drivers over the course of four days with impaired driving.

On Friday January 24, 2025, at 8:30 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Maple Street in Port Carling. After an interaction with the driver of a vehicle, police arrested and charged 34-year-old Kody FERREN of Oshawa, ON with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(b) and Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code CC 320.18(1)(a) X 2. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 25, 2025 to answer to his charges.

On Sunday January 26, 2025, at 1:40 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting patrols in commercial parking lots near Edward Street in Gravenhurst when they became concerned about the conduct of a driver. Officers commenced an investigation and subsequently arrested and charged 33-year-old Mateusz RODYKOW of Gravenhurst with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(b) and Obstruct Peace Officer CC 129(a) along with several Highway Traffic Act Offenses. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 25, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Later that day, Sunday January 26, 2025, at 4:45 p.m., as a result of a temporary highway closure on Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst, an officer was speaking with motorists to redirect them around the closure. The officer became concerned about the condition of one driver and began an investigation into his ability to drive. As a result, police arrested and charged 42-year-old Michael ROCKEY of Gravenhurst with Operation While Impaired-Drug CC 320.14(1)(a). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 25, 2025 to answer to his charge.

On Tuesday January 28, 2025 at 1:40 p.m. Bracebridge OPP responded to a concern from a member of the public about a person in a vehicle on Alice Street in Bracebridge. Officers arrived and were able to rouse the driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation. Police soon arrested and charged 37-year-old Ashley GRAY of Brock Twp, ON with Operation While Impaired-Drug CC 320.14(1)(a). She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 25, 2025 to answer to her charge.

Gloria CHALKLEY – Impaired Driving

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On January 25, 2025, at approximately 11:53 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle stuck in a snowbank along Highway 6, Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

During the investigation, police detected signs of impairment from the driver. They were placed under arrested and transported for further testing.

Gloria CHALKLEY, 63-years-old, of Northern Bruce Peninsula, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired, CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear in the Owen Sound Court of Justice on February 20, 2025.

COXHEAD Was Arrested – Details Released

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Caledon Village resident criminally stemming from a single motor vehicle collision.

On January 28, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a single motor vehicle collision on Main Street within the Town of Erin.

As a result of the investigation, Bruce COXHEAD, a 66-year-old of Caledon Village is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on February 11, 2025.

Ana PRASCEVIC Was Arrested

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) – One driver was arrested for driving while impaired by drug, during a traffic stop by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Kirkland Lake.

On January 2,2025, at 6:45 p.m. the Kirkland Lake OPP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed failing to maintain its lane on Government Road West, in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

As a result of the investigation, Ana PRASCEVIC, a 32-year-old from Toronto, has been charged with operation while impaired – drugs.

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on January 30, 2025.

Kirkland Lake and surrounding area is reminded that whether someone is impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired and driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it.

34 Year Old From Saugeen Shores Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – On January 26, 2025, at approximately 8:32 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a collision involving a snowmobile in the area of Concession 14 and Baseline, Municipality of Brockton.

Members of the South Bruce OPP attended the area with Bruce County Paramedic Service and located a single snowmobile involved. The operator was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel LINTON, 34-years-old, of Saugeen Shores has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on February 26, 2025 to answer to the charges.

Kyle Bates Was Arrested

(ATIKOKAN, ON) – On January 26th, just before 9:00 p.m., members of the Rainy River District Detachment (Atikokan) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a motor vehicle swerving on Highway 11B in the Town of Atikokan

A short time after receiving the call officers located the subject motor vehicle on Highway 11B in Atikokan and conducted a traffic stop to ensure the driver was fit to operate a motor vehicle. As a result on the investigation Kyle Bates a 36-year-old male from Atikokan ON has been charged :

  • Flight from Peace Officer
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operation while impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

In addition to the charges, the driver received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

(KINGSVILLE, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving after a single-vehicle collision in the Municipality of Kingsville.

On January 26, 2025, at approximately 6:08 p.m., a Kingsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer came across a motor vehicle in the ditch on County Road 20 in Kingsville.  

Jeremy SCHILLER, 52-years-old of Kingsville is charged with the following offences:

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on February 7, 2025.

Randeep MANN – Impaired Driving

(ALLISTON, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver for driving while impaired in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On January 27, 2025, shortly after 12:30 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP received a call for a male driver asleep in his vehicle at the drive through window of McDonalds in Alliston.

The Officer located the vehicle shortly after, the vehicle was observed to be running with the windows up in front of the pay window. The driver was unresponsive, taking several attempts to wake him.

As of a result of the investigation the driver: Randeep MANN 47 years-old, of Otterville Ontario, was charge with:  

• Adult Operation while Impaired- alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on February 20, 2025, to answer to the charges.

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge an Etobicoke resident criminally stemming from a motor vehicle collision.

On January 26, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP responded to a single motor-vehicle collision involving the vehicle landing into a nearby ditch on Roszell Road, Puslinch.

As a result of the investigation, Sean MULLIN, a 51-year-old of Etobicoke is charged under the Criminal Code with:

Adam GELL Facing 3 Criminal Charges

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge an Elora resident with three criminal charges in relation to an impaired driving arrest.

On January 24, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were made aware of a suspicious motor vehicle travelling through Centre Wellington Township and stopped the motor vehicle on York Street West within Elora.

As a result of the investigation, Adam GELL, a 41-year-old of Elora is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on February 4, 2025.

Claude RANCOURT – Impaired Driving

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Single-vehicle collision in Oxford County results in impaired charges.

On January 24, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members from the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on Mall Road in the Township of Norwich.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Claude RANCOURT, a 51-years-of-age resident of Tillsonburg was charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, located in Woodstock, on March 4, 2025.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people with impaired driving and other offences in separate incidents over the weekend.

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, shortly before 3:30 a.m., L&A County OPP members received a crash notification from a cell phone and located a single vehicle collision on Old Highway 2 in Tyendinaga Township. Officers located the lone occupant who was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. 

Logan CROSSEN, a 25-year-old from Deseronto was subsequently charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous operation

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, just before 7:00 a.m., L&A County OPP were called about a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the 401 Highway in Greater Napanee.

Following an investigation, Kelly JOHNSON, a 40-year-old from Mississauga was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in February 2025. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded.

Authur FEWER Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following a collision investigation in Simcoe.

At approximately 11:24 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a single-vehicle collision on Talbot Street North in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that a pickup truck was travelling on Talbot Street North when it veered off the roadway and collided with a residence. No injuries were reported.

Officers located the driver at the scene and, after conducting a sobriety assessment, took them into custody without incident.

60-year-old Authur FEWER from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Careless driving,
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance,
  • Fail to surrender permit for vehicle.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
