Zachary HUNTER Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following a collision investigation on Teeterville Road.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment, along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services, responded to a single-vehicle collision on Teeterville Road in Windham, Norfolk County.

It was determined that a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was travelling on Teeterville Road when it left the roadway and struck a treeline. Minor injuries were reported.

As a result, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

28-year-old Zachary HUNTER of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code,
  • Driving while under suspension – while suspended under HTA section 41/42,
  • Driving while under suspension (two counts),
  • Careless driving,
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle.

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Raymond YOUNG – Drive While Suspended

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – Suspended driver in Elliot Lake arrested.

On November 2, 2024, the OPP assisted and Anishinabek Police Service (APS) officers who located a driver passed out in the driver’s seat of a white pickup truck. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with impaired by drug and possession of Schedule I substance. He was also issued a 90-day Automatic Driver’s Licence Suspension and vehicle towed.

On November 20, 2024, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol when the same white pickup truck was observed and it was being operated by the suspended driver. A subsequent traffic stop was conducted on Hillside Drive South and the driver was arrested. The pickup truck was also towed and impounded.

Raymond YOUNG, 33-years-old from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Driving while under suspension – two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on February 19, 2025.

Joseph OKUNOLA Facing Numerous Charges

(SARNIA, ON) – On November 19, 2024, shorty after 12:00 p.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic enforcement in the westbound lanes of Highway 402 at Indian Road, Sarnia.

A vehicle was observed travelling more than 130 km/h in a 80 km/h construction zone at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result of the investigation, Joseph OKUNOLA, 51-year-old of Toronto was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with the following offences: 

·      Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Use document without authority (three counts)

·      Processing counterfeit money (four counts)

·      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed

·      Driving while under suspension

The vehicle was immediately impounded for a period of 45 days.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice, Sarnia on December 30, 2024.

Adrian GILPIN Was Arrested

(CARLETON PLACE, ON) – TheLanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a male with numerous offences following a traffic stop in the Town of Carleton Place.

On November 18, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on O’Donovan Drive, Carleton Place. During the investigation the officer determined the driver was not licenced to operate a motor vehicle.

Adrian GILPIN,52-years-old, from Perth, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited
  • Driving while under suspension – three counts
  • Fail to surrender permit under
  • Fail to surrender Insurance 

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing on November 19, 2024. The vehicle was also impounded for 45 days.

Shawn BENTLEY Facing Charges

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – Driver arrested at traffic stop.

On November 17, 2024, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol in the Town of Blind River. At approximately 9:30 p.m., police observed a westbound white car travelling at a high rate of speed on Causley Street and initiated a traffic stop. A query revealed the driver had an outstanding warrant from the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS).

The East Algoma OPP assisted with the execution of the warrant for: Failing to attend court-as per undertaking. The driver will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury at a later date. 

Shawn BENTLEY, 36 years-of-age from Sudbury was charged with:

  • Driving while under suspension
  • Speeding
  • Driver fail to surrender licence

Luke McCALLUM – Drive While Suspended, Etc.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – A Chatham individual has been charged after a suspicious vehicle investigation in Middlesex Centre.

On October 18, 2024, at 4:17 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Twelve Mile Road in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a suspicious vehicle.

Police located the vehicle parked on the side of the road and initiated a traffic stop.

It was determined the driver was impaired at which time they were placed under arrest and transported to the London OPP detachment for further testing from a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

As a result, Luke McCALLUM, a 31-year-old of Chatham, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Cannabis Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Obstruct plate

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on December 18, 2024.

Farouk SULEMANA Was Arrested

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On October 12, 2024, at approximately 3:20 a.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol along 1st Avenue South in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie and attempted to stop a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot, but was arrested shortly thereafter.  

As a result of the investigation, Farouk SULEMANA, 32-years-old from Arran-Elderslie, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Flight from peace officer, CC 320.17
  • Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on November 13, 2024.

Jordan HAULEY Was Arrested

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – One individual is facing several charges after a member with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment initiated a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon in Newport.

On Tuesday September 10, 2024 at approximately 12:12 p.m., an officer with Brant County OPP initiated a traffic stop on Newport Road in the County of Brant. The officer observed the vehicle driving on Cockshutt Road and initiated the traffic stop to confirm valid licencing and vehicle registration.

Jordan HAULEY, 30-years-old from Brantford is charged with the following offences:

·      Adult Resist Peace Officer

·      Adult Use plate not authorized for vehicle

·      Adult Driving while under suspension

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.

John SIMON Was Arrested

(MALAHIDE, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment, has charged an individual following a collision investigation.

On September 10, 2024, at approximately 11:25 a.m., emergency services including Malahide Fire Services, Elgin-St. Thomas Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Elgin OPP responded to a single-vehicle rollover collision involving a passenger vehicle colliding with a utility pole on Wilson Line near Imperial Road, Township of Malahide.

The lone driver that was transported to a local hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, John SIMON, a 63-year-old from Norfolk County was charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Careless driving
  • Driving while under suspension

A 45-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on October 22, 2024.

Matthew SAMPAIO – Drive While Suspended, Etc.

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges after an incident at a golf course in Quinte West.   

On August 7, 2024, members of the Quinte West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call at Quinte Hills Golf Course. Individuals had damaged the property and then fled.  

On the August 11, 2024, as a result of the investigation, Nathan HODGE, aged 19, was arrested and was charged with mischief over $5,000. This accused was released with a future court date before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.  

On August 20, 2024, members of the Quinte West OPP, with the assistance of the Community Street Crime Unit, arrested Matthew SAMPAIO, aged 19. This individual is charged with:

  • Mischief Over $5,000
  • Dangerous operation
  • Failure to comply with undertaking
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts

This accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today, August 20, 2024, before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville. 

The investigation continues to identify the other parties involved in the incident.

Jordan FAGAN Charged

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- Cube van runs a red light.

On August 12, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint where a westbound white cube van ran a red light on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., OPP observed the white cube van on Highway 17 near River Street in the Town of Thessalon and initiated a traffic stop. A query revealed the driver was breaching a curfew and was a suspended driver.

As a result, Jordan FAGAN, 24 years-of-age from Brampton was charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order-other than to attend court
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Blind River on August 13, 2024, and was remanded into custody.

John THROWER Was Arrested

(WARWICK TOWNSHIP, ON) – A traffic stop in Warwick Township leads to a vehicle impoundment and several charges for a suspended driver.

On Wednesday May 8, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., a uniform member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Centennial Avenue, Warwick Township. During the traffic stop, the officer confirmed that the driver of the motor vehicle was currently under a driving suspension. As a result, the motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.

John THROWER, 45-year-old from Sarnia, Ontario has been charged with the following:

  • Drive While Under Suspension
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance
  • Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia on July 4, 2024.

Raymond RICHIER – Drunk Driving

(MARKSTAY-WARREN, ON) – A prohibited driver was charged with refusal to comply with demand after a traffic stop.

On April 27, 2024, shortly before 7:30 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop with a possible impaired driver on Highway 17, Markstay-Warren.

The driver was read a demand for an approved screening device and refused. As a result, the driver was arrested for refusal to comply with demand and transported to the OPP detachment for processing.

The driver was found to be, both a suspend and prohibited driver.

As a result of the investigation, Raymond RICHIER, 60 years-of-age, from Kingston, was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 30, 2024, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Kyle CHAPMAN Was Arrested

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a driver after a report of a vehicle off the road.

On April 17, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., police received a report of a single motor vehicle off the road on Centre Street in the Town of Huntsville.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle CHAPMAN, 35 years of age, from Armour Township was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of trafficking

·      Driving while under suspension 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 4, 2024.

Nicholas COLBEAR Was Arrested

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) – A local driver with a suspended license is facing several charges after an off-duty member of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported the individual driving on April 13, 2024. On-duty UOV OPP officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in Laurentian Valley Township (LVTP). The driver was charged with violations under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Criminal Code (CC) and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

As a result of this incident Nicholas COLBEAR, age 22 of Petawawa, was arrested and charged with the following CC, HTA and CAIA offences:

  • Failure to comply with undertaking
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice and Provincial Offences Court in May 2024.
