Dylan WARDELL – Was Arrested

(SARNIA, ON) – On January 28, 2025, at approximately 11:17 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Front Street, Sarnia.

As a result, Dylan WARDELL, a 28-year-old from Brights Grove, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 20, 2025, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charge.

Danielle SMITH Was Arrested

(SARNIA, ON) – Police have charged an individual following a theft investigation reported in early November 2024.

On November 26, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Lambton County Community Street Crime Unit, alongside a Lambton OPP uniform member, executed a search warrant at an address on Plank Road, in Sarnia.

During the search, officers recovered and seized a 2023 Salem camping trailer which had been reported stolen earlier this month out of Warwick Township.

The estimated total value of the recovered property is $80,000.

As a result of the investigation, Danielle SMITH, 27-year-old of Sarnia was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia on January 2, 2025.

Justin SMITH – Drunk Driving, Etc.

(SARNIA, ON) – A traffic stop led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.

On November 25, 2024, shortly after 10:40 p.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on London Line, east of Murphy Road in Sarnia.

As a result of the investigation, Justin SMITH, 40-year-old of Sarnia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, the Highway Traffic Act, and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

A 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on December 20, 2024, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charges.

Joseph OKUNOLA Facing Numerous Charges

(SARNIA, ON) – On November 19, 2024, shorty after 12:00 p.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic enforcement in the westbound lanes of Highway 402 at Indian Road, Sarnia.

A vehicle was observed travelling more than 130 km/h in a 80 km/h construction zone at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result of the investigation, Joseph OKUNOLA, 51-year-old of Toronto was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with the following offences: 

·      Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Use document without authority (three counts)

·      Processing counterfeit money (four counts)

·      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed

·      Driving while under suspension

The vehicle was immediately impounded for a period of 45 days.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice, Sarnia on December 30, 2024.
