8 Break & Enters – Davyd KHOCHOLAVA Arrested

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged after multiple Break and Enters were reported in Tecumseh and Lakeshore.

The Essex County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) identified an individual who was responsible for eight Break and Enter investigations between May 21, 2023 and February 22, 2024.

As a result, on March 3, 2024, Davyd KHOCHOLAVA, 56 years-of-age of Windsor was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:

·        Robbery with violence S.343(a) CC (ONE COUNT)

·        Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence S.348(1)(a) CC (ONE COUNT)

·        Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence S.348(1)(b) CC (SIX COUNTS)

·        Possession Break In Instruments S 351(1) CC (SIX COUNTS)

·        Disguise with Intent S.351(2) (TWO COUNTS)

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 S.354(1)(a) CC (ONE COUNT)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, located in Windsor.

David BERRY Arrested For Break & Enter

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich area resident with Breaking and Entering and Trespassing at Night following an investigation on February 19th, 2024. 

Just before 9:00 p.m. on February 19th, 2024, Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to an address for a report of a break and enter to a residence located on Orchard Line in the Municipality of Central Huron. Officers arrived shortly after and located the suspect inside the garage area of the home, at which time they were arrested.

The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP detachment for processing.

David BERRY, 57 years of age from no fixed address in the Goderich area has been charged with:

–      Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent,

–      Trespassing at Night.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 8th, 2024.

3 Arrested, Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Names Released

(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested three male suspects after an incident near Kidd Crescent in the Town of New Tecumseth.

 On February 27, 2024, shortly before 3:00 a.m., officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment attempted to stop a vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop and fled from police. A short time later police located the vehicle and discovered it to be stolen.

 As a result of the investigation, a firearm was recovered and three individuals were taken into custody and charged.

 Kevon WILLIAMS, 23-years-old from Scarborough, ON charged with:

·        Robbery using a firearm.

·        Unauthorized possession of a firearm.

·        Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

·        Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

·        Break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence.

·        Trespassing by night.

·        Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

·        Flight from a police officer.

 Ismal TUMBA, 19-years-old from North York, ON charged with:

·        Robbery using a firearm.

·        Possession of firearm while prohibited.

·        Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

·        Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

·        Break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence.

·        Trespassing by night.

·        Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

·        Mischief.

 Also arrested is a 17-year-old from Toronto, ON charged with:

·        Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

·        Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

·        Break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence.

·        Trespassing by night.

·        Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

 The adult accused persons have been remanded into custody and have been scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.

 The investigation was completed by the Nottawasaga Detachment Major Crime Unit with assistance of Central Region Canine, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Regional Support Team (RST) and Urban Search and Rescue, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives, Response Team (UCRT). 

 The Nottawasaga OPP wish to express their thanks to the residents of the Town of New Tecumseth for their patience and assistance during this critical incident and subsequent investigation.

Ashley CUMMINGS Arrested – Kidnapping, Assault, Threats, Etc. Etc.

(TYENDIAGA MOHAWK TERRITORY, ON) – The final individual, wanted in connection with a home invasion, kidnapping and assault in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory has been arrested.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad located and arrested Ashley CUMMINGS, age 36, on February 28, 2024 in Deseronto. She is charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon – two counts
  • Kidnapping
  • Conspiracy to commit and indictable offence-kidnapping
  • Forcible confinement
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Robbery with violence
  • Theft under $5000
  • Break and enter with intent to commit and indictable offence
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Disguise with intent

CUMMINGS will remain in custody, with a bail hearing scheduled for February 29, 2024 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

Five other individuals are already before the courts on similar charges.

The incident happened January 28, 2024, around 4:30 a.m., at a residence on Atsia Court on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. It was reported that several individuals had entered the home, assaulted a male and took him away in a vehicle. He was assaulted again and was then dropped off in another part of the community. The victim did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
