Waldemar LACHOWSKI – Drunk Driving

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On June 14, 2014 at approximately 3:38 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers set up a R.I.D.E. Program on Trafalgar Road, Hillsburgh. A 2007 Dodge entered the program and the driver showed signs of consuming alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was administered which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to the South Wellington Operations Centre for further testing.

Waldemar LACHOWSKI age 47 of Erin has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 8, 2014 to answer to the charges. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days as per statute.

Michael LOMAX – Drunk Driving

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 15, 2014 at approximately 9:49 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on patrol in the Town of Fergus and stopped a 2007 Dodge on Maiden Lane just north of George Street West, Fergus.

The male driver displayed signs that he had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was administered which resulted in a fail. He was brought to the Centre Wellington Operations Centre for further testing.

The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Michael LOMAX age 56 of Fergus has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 22, 2014 to answer to the charge.

Grayson CARTER – 153 in an 80

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) On June 15, 2014 at approximately 11:53 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) officers were monitoring speeds on Highway 6 North near Laird Road, Guelph. A 2004 Volkswagen was observed travelling well above the posted speed limit of 80 km/h.

The officer locked the male driver on radar at 153 km/h.

His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.

Grayson CARTER age 20 of Guelph is charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Court on July 16, 2014 to answer to the charge.

Early Morning Fatal Crash

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently on scene and investigating a single motor vehicle collision that has claimed a life.

This morning, at 5:22 a.m. Huron County OPP received witness information that a crash had occurred and a vehicle was found resting on its’ roof in a field adjacent to Bluewater Veteran’s Highway, south of Port Albert. Within minutes Huron County OPP along with Lucknow Fire Department and Huron County EMS arrived at the collision scene located on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway (Highway 21) between Sheppardton Line and Division Line.

Police are trying to establish the time of the collision however preliminary investigation has determined sometime prior to 3:00 a.m. the driver of a Suzuki Vitari was travelling northbound on Bluewater Veterans Highway when he drove off the east shoulder of the road and proceeded to strike a culvert and hydro pole. The vehicle rolled and ultimately came to rest on its roof.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as 31 year old William COLLINS from Kincardine.

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for today at London Health Sciences Center – University Hospital.

Members from the West Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) team are on scene and continue to investigate.

Bluewater Veterans Highway remains closed between Hawkins Road and Sheppardton Line. Please take alternate routes to avoid delays.

Donald TOMS – Drunk Driving

(Cavan Monaghan Township, ON) – On June 13, 2014, at approximately 1:00 a.m. officers from the Peterborough County OPP had the occasion to stop and investigate a motorist on County Road 10.

Officers patrolling County Road 10 stopped a Chevrolet Silverado and investigated the driver. As a result of the investigation 51 year old Donald TOMS of Port Hope was arrested and charged with Having Over 80mgs of Alcohol in his Blood.

TOMS was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Courts on July 17, 2014

BAIL VIOLATION

(South Stormont) – On June 13th, 2014 at approximately 4:30pm, SD&G OPP officers received information of a male in contravention of conditions (non-communication) imposed from an previous incident. The reported incident occurred in the area of Moulinette Road, South Stormont Township.

Nicholas DEROUCHIE (19) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Conditions (2 counts)

He was held in custody, pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall.

THEFTS

(South Glengarry) – Overnight (13-14Jun14), a boat was entered at a property on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. Two Pinecraft pontoon seats, green & white and 2 fishing poles were taken.

(South Stormont) – Overnight (14-15Jun14), three (3) properties on Headline Road, South Stormont Township, were targeted resulting in items stolen.

1- A garage was entered an tools taken
2- Two parked vehicles entered – backpack, iphone charger and clothing taken
3- Two parked vehicles entered – gift basket and wallet taken. Culprit(s) also boarded a boat and removed fishing gear and entered a garage where a battery charger was taken.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST FOR OVER THE LEGAL LIMIT

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On June 14, 2014, just before 1:00 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck at Highway 40 and Colborne Street.

While the officer was speaking with the driver, 20 year old Michael LIBBRECHT, from Chatham, ON, it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and he will appear in a Chatham court on July 4, 2014, to answer to the charge of Driving With More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol In Blood.

CAMPING TRIP TURNS VIOLENT

(Prince Edward County, ON)—On June 14, 2014 at 4:20am the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County detachment were called to a Consecon residence following a violent domestic incident that occurred earlier that morning.

Police learned that a couple were camping in the area. They had left following an argument. While leaving the argument had escalated, the male had assaulted his girlfriend and damaged a motor vehicle. The male then left the area while the victim attended a near- by residence seeking assistance. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance to be treated for minor injuries.

Within a few hours, with the assistance of the Belleville Police Service, the 20-year old Quinte West man was arrested in the City of Belleville. The accused is charged with the following offences:

Assault Causing Bodily Harm, contrary to Section 267(b) of the Criminal Code Canada.

Uttering Threats, Contrary to Section 264.1, of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Mischief Not Exceeding $5000, contrary to Section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Breach of Probation, Contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was held in custody and has a bail hearing today at the Ontario Court of Justice, Belleville.

UNLOCKED VEHICLES ENTERED

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Friday, June 13, 2014, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft from vehicles report in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

Sometime overnight, unknown person(s) entered two unlocked vehicles on Park Street and removed 2 iPods valued at approximately $700.

Once again, the OPP remind vehicle owners that these types of thefts are a crime of opportunity. An unlocked door or an open window is an invitation to thieves. By remembering to always roll up the windows, lock the doors, and keep valuables out of plain view; could prevent thefts from occurring.

ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE (ATV) STOLEN

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment is investigating the theft of an ATV from a Hwy #6, Haldimand County, ON address.

Sometime during the late evening hours of Friday June 13th to the early morning hours of Saturday June 14th, 2014 unknown(s) attended Sundrim Golf Course and entered a storage area where an ATV was stored. The ATV described as a blue 2013 Yamaha Y55 Grizzly was then removed without the assistance of the ignition key.

Care and Control

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment has charged a 58 year old woman with Drinking and Driving related offences at a Hwy #6, Haldimand County, ON address.

On Saturday June 14th, 2014 at approximately 2:05 am Police while on patrol of Hwy #6 came upon a white 2007 Jeep SUV stopped on the shoulder of the road. Upon checking the vehicle, Police spoke with the female driver where signs of impairment by alcohol was detected which resulted in her arrest.

Charged with Care and Control While Impaired, Care and Control with over the legal limit of alcohol and Possession of an illegal substance (Marihuana) is 58 year old Beverly BOMBERRY of Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. She is to appear in Provincial Court, Cayuga, ON at a later date to answer to the charges.

BREAK AND ENTER TO BIG CREEK ROAD RESIDENCE

(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – The County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers are investigating a break and enter to a home on Big Creek road, in the County of Brant.

Sometime between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday June 12th, 2014 suspects entered the residence and removed a flat screen television, two lamps and an iPod.

RESIDENTIAL BREAK AND ENTER

(Cavan Monaghan Township, ON) – On Saturday June 14, members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to investigate a report of a Break and Enter to a residence that occurred on County Road 21.

At some time overnight unknown suspects entered the victims storage shed and stole a Riding Mower from the victims rear yard, then fled the scene.

Stolen is a Sears Craftsman Riding Mower.
