Brandon WALKER Arrested Details Released

(TEMAGAMI, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged one person with impaired driving following a collision.

On March 28, 2024, shortly before 2:00 p.m., members of the Temiskaming OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 in Temagami. Through investigation, police determined that one of the drivers was impaired by drug. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Temiskaming Detachment for an assessment by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

Police searched the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia and brass knuckles.

As a result of the investigation, Brandon WALKER, 26 years-of-age of Temagami was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Mischief Under $5000

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 23, 2024. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Customer Kills Store Employee In Elora

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On April 6, 2024, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to injury at a business on Wellington Road 18, Elora. It was reported that a customer had caused serious injuries to an employee when they struck them with their vehicle.

OPP, Centre Wellington Fire Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service responded. A 67-year-old male from Fergus was pronounced deceased at scene.

The Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ministry of Labour were notified. The investigation is ongoing.

Fatal 3 Vehicle Collision

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – A three-vehicle collision has claimed the life of one individual.

On April 6, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., members from the Brant detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with assistance from Brant County Fire Services of Burford, as well as Brant County and Oxford County Paramedic Services, responded to a collision involving three vehicles on Highway 403, County of Brant.

The investigation determined that two passenger vehicles and a transport truck were involved in the collision.

A 33-year-old from Milton was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Four other occupants of the passenger vehicles were transported to hospital with minor injuries, and the driver of the transport truck was not injured.  

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation.

The westbound lanes of Highway 403 were closed for several hours but have since re-opened.

Driver Arrested for Taking ‘High’ Way 11 a Little Too Literally

(HANLON TOWNSHIP, ON) – A traffic stop on Highway 11, west of Hearst, led to the arrest of the driver, for driving while impaired by a drug.

On April 3, 2024, shortly before 5:00 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was parked on the east bound shoulder of Highway 11, in Hanlon Township just west of Hearst. 

Upon speaking with the driver, police determined that the driver had been consuming an intoxicating substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the Hearst detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Sasha MITRON, 25 years of age of Hearst, was charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 15, 2024 in Hearst. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Christopher MAVENYENGWA & Felix MUTANDWA Were Arrested – Details Released

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police arrested two individuals after a member of the public called in a concern for a disabled vehicle.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment, were dispatched to a disabled vehicle, that was partially blocking a live lane, on Highway 401, in South-West Oxford.

After assessment at the scene and further investigation at detachment police arrested and charged two individuals.

Christopher MAVENYENGWA, a 48-year-old of Burlington, has been charged with the following Liquor Licence Act and Criminal Code offences:

·      Resist Peace Officer

·      Intoxicated in a Public Place

Felix MUTANDWA, a 42-year-old of Guelph, has been charged with the following Highway Traffic Act and Criminal Code offences:

·      Operation While Impaired

·      Operation While Impaired -Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Drive While Under Suspension

Both individuals have been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      Fraud Over $5000

·      Fraud Under $5000

·      Possession of Identification Documents

·      Possession of Forged Documents

·      Possession of Credit Cards

The accused individuals have been held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock on April 5, 2024.

Andrew Hepburn Was Arrested – Details Released

(TERRACE BAY, ON) – A traffic complaint has resulted in one individual facing multiple charges including both impaired and stunt driving.

On April 2, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of the Schreiber Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment received a traffic complaint regarding an erratic driver travelling along Highway 17 near Terrace Bay.

Officers observed the vehicle to be travelling at 146 Kilometers per hour in a posted 90 Kilometers per hour zone. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver failed a roadside test and was subsequently placed under arrest for impaired driving. The driver was also found to be a suspended driver.

The driver was brought back to the Schreiber OPP Detachment for further testing.

Andrew Hepburn, 27-years-old of Elliot Lake has been charged with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

·        Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt

·        Driving While Under Suspension

The accused is now facing a 90-Day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-Day vehicle impoundment. The accused was released from custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.

Violent Armed Spousal Assault – Name With Held To Protect Accused From Public Backlash #EndTheAbuse

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual with assault following an incident in the City of Dryden.

On April 4, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m. officers responded to an assault incident at the skywalk in the City of Dryden.

Through investigation, officers arrested and charged one individual with several offences. The name of the accused is being held to protect the identity of the victim.

A Dryden resident has been charged with:

·        Adult Assault – Spousal

·        Adult Assault with a Weapon – Spousal

·        Adult Assault

The accused has been held for bail and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on April 5, 2024.

Richard CLARK Arrested For Harassments #DontBeADick

(PETAWAWA, ON) – A Petawawa resident is facing a Criminal Code (CC) charge after a recent investigation by the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Police began investigating after the victim reported harassment at their workplace.

As a result, 57-year-old Steven Richard CLARK of Petawawa, has been charged with Criminal Harassment – beset and watch complainant.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 23, 2024.

Life Threating Injuries: 2 Teens Run Down – Hit & Run Suspect At Large

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a fail to remain collision where two pedestrians were hit.

On November 21, 2023, shortly after 5:30 p.m., officers responded to two injured pedestrians on Albion Vaughan Road, near Queensgate Boulevard. It was reported that both were walking southbound at approximately 4:30 p.m., when they were hit from behind by a vehicle. A 14-year-old male sustained minor injuries and a 16-year-old female sustained life-threatening injuries. Both parties are expected to make a full recovery.

While at scene, investigators collected crucial evidence, inclusive of an after-market right side mirror, believed to have been from an early-2000’s model light brown or grey Toyota Camry or Corolla. It is important to note, the vehicle would have also sustained damage to the front right corner and headlight area.

The Caledon OPP are encouraging the driver and any passengers to come forward and speak with investigators regarding the collision.

Herbert VALERA Arrested For Drunk Driving

(BROCKTON, ON) – On April 3, 2024, at 8:32 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol stopped a vehicle along Highway 9 in Brockton.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Muskoka Crime Unit is asking for the publics help with identifying a suspect in relation to a historical investigation.

The Muskoka Crime Unit is conducting an investigation into a sexual assault that occurred in July 2015 in the town of Huntsville, ON after the victim came forward in October of 2023. An OPP sketch artist assisted the investigation by working with the victim and created a likeness of the suspect and police are asking for the publics help. One Airlifted, 3 Others Sent To Hospital – Keith Fowler – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) closed Hwy 35 for a serious collision involving a pickup truck and passenger vehicle. 

On November 05, 2023 at approximately 3:05 pm, officers responded, alongside with Kawartha Lakes Fire and EMS, to a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and passenger vehicle.

Four patients were sent to Toronto Hospitals for treatment, one of which was airlifted.

The highway was closed from Powells Road to Country Lane Road for approximately 7 hours for the duration of an investigation with the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists.          

On April 04, 2024 the driver and single occupant of the pick-up truck was arrested and charged with additional charges related to the investigation.

$50,000 Drug Bust

(RED LAKE, ON) – Members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two individuals with drug related charges.

On April 3rd 2024, just after 9:00 p.m., while conducting proactive general patrol on Howey Street, members of the Red Lake OPP Detachment observed a parked motor vehicle with a passenger littering on the highway. Officers conducted a traffic stop and throughout the investigation, a large amount of suspected Oxycodone tabs, Codeine tabs, Crack Cocaine and Cocaine were located and seized. The street value of the drugs, travelling to the First Nation community of Sandy Lake, was approximately $50,000 CAD.

Both occupants were subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Red Lake OPP Detachment.

As a result, Samantha KENT, 49 years old, of Sandy Lake First Nation, has been arrested and charged under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts

Furthermore, John NOON, 50 years old, of Sandy Lake First Nation, has been arrested and charged under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts

Both accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on July 18th, 2024.
