Keagan RADCLIFFE Arrested

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police locate the suspect of a theft from a business in Tillsonburg.

On Sunday, May 5, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment, was called to a business on Broadway in Tillsonburg, following the theft of a “tip jar” from the establishment.

Keagan RADCLIFFE, a 22-year-old of Tillsonburg was located and charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

·        Theft Under $5000

The accused has been released and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice, in Woodstock on June 11, 2024.

Arson & Assault – Sean NOLAN Arrested

(SUNDRIDGE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an arson in the Village of Sundridge. 

On May 6, 2024, shortly after midnight the Almaguin Highlands OPP along with Parry Sound District Paramedic Service and the Sundridge Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire on John Street.

Investigation revealed that a person lit their residence on fire and barricaded themselves inside the residence. Out of concern for their safety, police entered the residence and located the person with a knife in hand. Consequently, the person was arrested safely by officers and transported to hospital for assessment.

As a result of the investigation, Sean NOLAN, 57-year-old from Sundridge was charged with:

  • Arson – Disregard for human life
  • Assault a peace officer with a weapon
  • Arson – Damage to property
  • Assault
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest

The accused was remanded into custody and awaits a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Parry Sound.

Hit & Run – Impaired Driver Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following an investigation into an incident of impaired driving.

At approximately 7:38 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to and investigated a single-vehicle collision at a location on Highway 3 in Delhi, Norfolk County. No injuries were reported.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers determined that the driver of the vehicle had left the area on foot.

Shortly afterward, officers found the driver at a nearby location, assessed their sobriety, and then took them into custody.

After being arrested, the driver assaulted two officers. No injuries were reported.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 25-year-old Zachary STEWART of Haldimand County:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand,
  • Dangerous operation,
  • Fail to remain,
  • Take motor vehicle without consent,
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available,
  • Assault Peace Officer (two counts),
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm,
  • Mischief under $5,000.

The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.

Brandon SMITH – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Thames Centre resident charged with impaired operation in OPP RIDE Program.

On May 6, 2024, at 1:44 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Hamilton Road in Thames Centre.

A vehicle attempted to elude the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Brandon SMITH, a 31-year-old of Thames Centre, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 11, 2024.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

One Dead – Drunk Driver Arrested

(NAIRN-HYMAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged following a fatal collision on Highway 17.

On May 5, 2024, shortly after 2:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services and the Nairn-Hyman Fire Department responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Nairn-Hyman Township. Information revealed that an eastbound vehicle collided head-on with a westbound vehicle.

A person, 73-years-old, from Wisconsin, USA, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two other individuals were transported to a local hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Sasha PAN, 32-years-old, from Warren has been charged with:

  • Dangerous operation causing death
  • Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
  • Operation while impaired causing death
  • Operation while impaired causing bodily harm

The accused was held in custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Sudbury Bail Court on May 6, 2024.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team.

Tevonte BROWN-FENTY Was Arrested

(TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH, CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual with several drug and firearm related charges in Clearview Township.

In late February 2024, Huronia West Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) initiated a drug trafficking investigation involving an individual from Brampton who was allegedly trafficking drugs in Wasaga Beach. Police were able to gather evidence further advancing their investigation.

On April 30, 2024, the accused was located travelling to the Huronia West Detachment area and was stopped in Clearview Township. During the investigation, the accused was arrested, the vehicle was seized, and items were seized including a loaded firearm, cocaine, and Canadian currency.

Tevonte BROWN-FENTY, 21-year-old of Brampton, was arrested and charged with several weapons offences along with other offences related to drug trafficking.

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing.

Cocaine Bust In Wasaga Beach

(TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH, ON) – Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant which resulted in an arrest and drug related charges being laid in the Town of Wasaga Beach.

In January 2024, Huronia West Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) initiated a drug trafficking investigation involving an individual who was allegedly trafficking drugs in Wasaga Beach and Collingwood. Police were able to gather evidence further advancing their investigation.

On April 25, 2024, members from Huronia West, Collingwood, Southern Georgian Bay and Nottawasaga CSCU conducted an entry at an address in Wasaga Beach and simultaneously Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) conducted an entry at a separate address in Wasaga Beach.

During the search, officers seized a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, indicia of drug trafficking along with a weapon.

Daniel CLARKE, 26-year-old of Brampton, was arrested and charged with:

  • Trafficking Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Trafficking Schedule I Substance – Opioid
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood at a later date.

Thurston Dowse Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation on May 01, 2024.

On May 01, 2024, at approximately 3:18pm, an officer during a traffic stop on Ski Hill Road in Omemee entered into an impaired driving investigation. Through investigation the driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act Offences.

Thurston Dowse, 27-year-old of St. Catherine’s, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
  • Drive Motor Vehicle Perform Stunt Excessive Speed
  • Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
  • Careless Driving

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 14 days and the drivers license was suspended for 90 days.

Tasheena MARACLE Was Arrested

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Driver charged with impaired operation after member of the public reports traffic complaint of possible impaired driver.

On May 4, 2024, at 9:08 a.m., members of the Oneida Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Pheasant Drive, Oneida Nation of the Thames Frist Nation for the report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located on Hazel Road, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Tasheena MARACLE, a 28-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 10, 2024.

Joseph Armstrong Was Arrested

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation on May 04, 2024.

On May 04, 2024, at approximately 5:16pm, officers responded to a call for service regarding a driving complaint. Through investigation the driver was arrested and charges for impaired driving offences.

Joseph Armstrong, 38-year-old of Fenelon Falls, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
  • Dangerous Operation

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.

If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.

12 Dogs Seized – 63 Year Old Arrested

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – One person is facing charges following an investigation into reports of aggressive dogs at a residence in Thames Centre.

On May 4th, 2024, at approximately 4:10 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex County Crime Unit, OPP K9 and the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a search warrant at an address on Marion Street in Thames Centre due to public safety concerns.

12 dogs were located and seized from the property with the assistance of a local kennel.

There were no reported injuries.

A 63-year-old Thames Centre resident has been charged under the Dog Owners Liability Act with:

·      Owner of Dog – Fail to exercise reasonable precautions to prevent dog behaving in menacing manner.

·      Owner of dog – Fail to prevent biting or attacking a person or domestic animal.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Provincial Offences Court to speak to the charges on June 17, 2024.

The investigation is continuing.

Houston Judson – Drunk Driving

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – A traffic stop has resulted in one individual being arrested and charged with impaired operation.

On May 3rd, 2024, just after 4:30 p.m., members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle on Kings Highway 11 in Lavallee Township for a Highway Traffic Act infraction.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Fort Frances OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Houston Judson, 27-years-old, of Emo, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on June 10th, 2024.

Fatal Collision

(GUELPH, ON) – Members of the Mississauga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision.

On Sunday May 5, 2024 at approximately 3:30 a.m. were called to a two vehicle collision on Highway 401 Eastbound at Guelph Line, City of Milton. A 28 year-old from Milton was travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes when she collided with sedan driven by a 22 year-old male from Brampton. The female driver, who was the lone occupant, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver who was the lone occupant in his vehicle was transported to a Toronto area hospital in life threatening condition.

The OPP Highway Safety Division Traffic Support Unit is assisting with the investigation. The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed between Highway 6 and Appleby Line.

Katherine SOUTHWELL – Drunk Driving

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Ottawa Detachment have charged an Almonte resident with impaired driving.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on May 42024, officers received a complaint about a possible impaired driver on Highway 417 near Moodie Drive.

Katherine SOUTHWELL, aged 39, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused received a 90-day driving suspension and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released and is set to appear in a Provincial Court at a later date.

Fatal Collision

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal single vehicle collision that took place around 1:38pm on May 04, 2024.

Police along with fire and EMS were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Mount Horeb Road near Lilac Road. The driver of the motorcycle, a 73-year-old male of Pontypool, was pronounced deceased in hospital.

Mount Horeb Road remains closed between Hogsback Road and Old Mill Road while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
