Horst KOKE – Assault With Weapon

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged one person after threats at a local hardware store.

On July 2, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m. police responded to a knife related call at a hardware store on Kilborn Way. The complainant reported that a staff member was threatened by a customer with a knife. Nobody was injured and the customer left the store prior to police arrival.  

Horst KOKE, 78-years-old, from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Carrying concealed weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 15, 2024.

Deborah Janice MACLEOD – Drunk Driving

(MIDLAND,ON) –  A call from the owner of a parked car on King Street, Midland to the OPP Communication Centre reporting a possible impaired driver had struck their vehicle has resulted in criminal code driving charges for a London, Ontario resident.

Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment were dispatched at approximately 5:15 p.m. July 4, 2024 to the address and in the course of the investigation Deborah Janice MACLEOD age 64 years was arrested and charged with the following offences.

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 18, 2024, was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Christopher COLE Was Arrested

(GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATION, ON)- Speeder fails to stop on Highway 17, leads to a driver being charged for driving while impaired by alcohol.

On July 4, 2024, members from the Sault Ste Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol duties on Highway 17 within the community of Garden River First Nation.  

Shortly before 11:30 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 17 and attempted a traffic stop. The small car ignored the emergency lights and accelerated towards the City of Sault Ste Marie.  

At the City limits was another OPP cruiser that was successful in initiating a traffic stop of the suspect car. The Batchewana First Nation Police Service attended the scene and assisted OPP with traffic control. While speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, Christopher COLE, 31 years-of-age from Sault Ste Marie was charged with: 

  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie on July 29, 2024.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Tyler COPEGOG Arrested Again

(MIDLAND,ON) – Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment responded to a trespass complaint from the Walmart store in Midland on July 4, 2024 at 6:53 p.m. after store security observed a person inside the store who has been trespassed from the business.

Attending officers located the suspect who is known to police at a nearby fast food restaurant.

Arrested and charged with the following offences is Tyler COPEGOG 21 years of no fixed address, Midland.

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

And further with

  • Enter premises when entry prohibited contrary to the Trespass to Property Act
  • Engage in prohibited activity on premises contrary to the Trespass to Property Act

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice  at a future date.

Danny LANDRY Was Arrested

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Chatham Detachment, has charged an individual following a single-vehicle collision investigation.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 6:40 p.m., members the Elgin OPP, Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue and Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single-vehicle rollover collision on the eastbound Highway 401 east of Victoria Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

The lone driver declined to be assessed on-scene by EMS and no serious injuries were reported.

The investigating officer observed signs of impairment from the driver, who was taken into custody without incident and transported to Essex OPP Detachment where a Drug Recognition Evaluation (DRE) was administered.

As a result of the investigation, Danny LANDRY, a 52-year-old from Sarnia was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration
  • Careless driving

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on August 5, 2024.

Two Arrested – Names Released

(PENETANGUISHENE, ON) – A report at approximately 11:57 p.m. July 4, 2024 to the OPP Communications Centre of suspicious persons in the area of the Penetanguishene Town dock and boat launch followed by calls of persons attempting to break into vehicles in the same area resulted in officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment to respond and upon attending, two suspects fled the area on foot and bicycle.

A number of officers patrolled the area locating the suspects wearing balaclavas and made arrests on Shanahan Lane and another on Beck Boulevard. During the officers investigation prior to the arrests, located an aerosol can containing a noxious substance and during the arrests a replica pistol was seized.

Charged in connection to this investigation are the following persons.

Ethan VIDLER 18 years of Penetanguishene has been charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Escape lawful custody

And further with

  • Being intoxicated in public place contrary to the Liquor Licence and Control Act

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on August 15, 2024.

A 14 year old young person of Strong Township has been also charged with the following criminal offences.

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Escape lawful custody
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused who cannot be identified because of the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act was held for a bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice  at a future date.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Four individuals are facing charges following investigations into separate impaired driving incidents.

At approximately 12:31 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a report of a suspected impaired driver at an address on West Street in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

Responding officers located the vehicle on the premises and, after assessing the driver’s sobriety, took them into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 62-year-old Joyce VAN PAASSEN of Norfolk County:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

At approximately 8:19 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, a patrolling officer was alerted by a good Samaritan about a suspected impaired driver on Johnson Avenue in Delhi, Norfolk County.

Following a roadside sobriety assessment, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 62-year-old Kevin MCINTYRE of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

At approximately 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, officers from the Norfolk County OPP Detachment responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a suspected impaired driver on James Street in Delhi, Norfolk County.

Responding officers located the vehicle at an address on James Street and, after a roadside sobriety assessment, took the driver into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 60-year-old Laura STARK of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

At approximately 2:53 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the Norfolk County OPP Detachment investigated a single-vehicle collision on Concession 2 Townsend in Townsend, Norfolk County. No injuries were reported.

Following a roadside sobriety assessment at the scene, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is a 17-year-old individual from Cambridge, Ontario:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Dangerous operation,
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Jasmine LACHINETTE – Impaired Driving

(WHITESAND FIRST NATION, ON) – One individual is facing impaired operation charges in Whitesand First Nation.  

On July 1, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Armstrong Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol in the area of Miigizi Meekana Drive and observed a known suspended driver operating a motor vehicle.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported back to the Armstrong OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Jasmine LACHINETTE, 39-years-old, of Armstrong, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·        Driving While Under Suspension

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on July 30, 2024.

Ethan COPENACE – Impaired Driving

(KENORA, ON) – A traffic complaint has led to one individual being arrested and charged for impaired operation.  

On June 29, 2024, just after 8:30 p.m., members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a suspected impaired driver at a business on Main Street South in the City of Kenora.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported back to the Kenora OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Ethan COPENACE, 34-years-old, of Keewatin, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on July 25, 2024.

(GREENSTONE, ON) – One individual is facing a lengthy list of charges following a traffic complaint.

On June 29, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspect impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle on First Street East in the Municipality of Greenstone and initiated a traffic stop.  

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported back to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Kelsey GAGNON, 28-years-old, of Aroland First Nation, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

·        Drive Motor Vehicle, No Plates

·        Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence

·        Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greenstone on July 25, 2024.

(KENORA, ON) – A traffic violation has led to one individual being arrested and charged with impaired operation.

On June 29, 2024, shortly before 3:30 a.m., members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol in the area of Lakeview Drive and initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for a traffic violation.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported back to the Kenora OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Terrance CHERRY, 23-years-old, of Kenora, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

Wellington OPP Weekly Update

(COUNTY OF WELLINGTON, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has consolidated and streamlined notable traffic offences with a single release.

On April 7, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Jones Baseline, Guelph/Eramosa. It was reported a vehicle had entered the ditch. As a result of the investigation, Jaslin Kaur CHANA, 22-years-old from Brampton, was charged with Operation while Impaired and Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus, contrary to the Criminal Code, Further, the driver was also charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (H.T.A.). The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on June 18, 2024.

On April 7, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 11:15 a.m., a grey sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old driver from Mount Hope was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 17, 2024.

On April 7, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 12:30 p.m., the driver of a white Sport Utility Vehicle (S.U.V.) was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old driver from Hamilton was charged with Drive while Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Have Care or Control of a Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 17, 2024.

On April 7, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. At approximately 1:00 p.m., a grey coupe was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old driver from Etobicoke was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 17, 2024.

On April 7, 2024, Wellington County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Sideroad 12, Mapleton. At approximately 4:15 p.m., the driver of a blue S.U.V. entered the check. As a result of the investigation, Walther VANDERMEER, 60-years-old from Mount Forest, was charged with Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus, contrary to the Criminal Code. Further, the driver was also charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Control Act. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on April 19, 2024.

On April 7, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Old Orangeville Road, Fergus. At approximately 5:00 p.m., the driver of a gold S.U.V. was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old driver from Port Elgin was charged with Drive while Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Possess Unmarked Cigarettes contrary to the Tobacco Tax Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 17, 2024.

On April 8, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Highway 89, Wellington North. At approximately 9:00 a.m., a brown S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old driver from Thornbury was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 17, 2024.

On April 8, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a collision on Elora Street South, Harriston. It was reported that a white S.U.V. had collided with an 87-year-old pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation, Bruce Richard LAWRENCE, 65-years-old of Harriston, was charged with Careless Driving – Cause Bodily Harm, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on August 21, 2024.

On April 8, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, Pilkington. At approximately 8:45 p.m., the driver of a black sedan was stopped. As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old driver from Elora, was charged with Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (C.A.I.A.) and Drive Motor Vehicle without Proper Headlights contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 17, 2024.

On April 8, 2024, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 6, Nichol. It was reported that a red pickup truck was being driven erratically. As a result of the investigation, Steven Francis KEATING, 54-years-old from Elora, was charged with Operation while Impaired and Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C.) 80 Plus, contrary to the Criminal Code. Further, the driver was also charged with Novice Driver – B.A.C. above Zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on April 23, 2024.

On April 9, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Wellington Road 109, Wellington North. At approximately 6:30 a.m., a grey S.U.V. was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 65-year-old driver from Harriston was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 17, 2024.

On April 9, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a disturbance on Highway 6, Morriston. It was reported that there had been a minor collision and that the involved parties were fighting. As a result of the investigation, Ryan James CAMPBELL, 34-years-old of Guelph, was charged with Assault and Dangerous Driving, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on May 14, 2024.

On April 9, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 109, Wellington North. At approximately 5:00 p.m., the driver of a black sedan was observed travelling above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old driver from Mississauga was charged with Speeding and Use Plate Not Authorized, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A.

On April 9, 2024, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on the Blair Street, Fergus. At approximately 7:00 p.m., the driver of a white van was stopped. As a result of the investigation, an 83-year-old driver from Fergus was charged with Drive while Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 17, 2024.

*Anyone charged with Operation while Impaired – B.A.C. 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) or Failing to Comply with Demand receives a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment as per statute.

*Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.

Kyle BARR Was Arrested

(RED LAKE, ON) – Proactive traffic enforcement has resulted in two Winnipeg residents facing charges.

On June 29, 2024, shortly before 10:30 p.m., members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol on Highway 125 in the Municipality of Red Lake when they observed a motor vehicle parked halfway on the roadway.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Red Lake OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Kyle BARR, 31-years-old, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act (HTA)and Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA) with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·        Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

·        Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on August 15, 2024.

A 23-year-old, of Winnipeg, Manitoba was charged under the HTA and LLCA with:

·        Fail to Identify Self

·        Being Intoxicated in Public Place

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a total of 884 charges over the Canada Day week.

Between June 21 and July 2, 2024, Caledon OPP have laid a total of 884 charges, including 265 speeding, 140 improper use of seat belts, 10 distracted driving, 9 stunt driving, and 15 impaired driving. Of those 15, seven were this past long weekend when officers formed grounds that the drivers had abilities that were impaired by alcohol, leading to arrests and charges. They include:

June 28, 2024, just before 6:00 p.m.

• Three-vehicle collision on Mississauga Road, near The Grange Sideroad

• No injuries

• Jeyakavin JEYARANJAN, 24, of Brampton, was charged with:

o Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

June 28, 2024, just after 8:30 p.m.

• Traffic complaint on Mayfield Road, near Chinguacousy Road

• David NITHIYAPALAN, 48, of Brampton, was charged with:

o Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

June 29, 2024, just after 6:00 p.m.

• Two-vehicle collision on Airport Road and Mayfield Road

• No injuries

• Joshua ROOPDIAL, 27, of Brampton, was charged with:

o Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

All seven accused are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on July 18, 2024, to answer to their charges.

4 Arrested In Drug Bust

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – Cocaine, methamphetamine, and morphine seized during the execution of a search warrant in Kapuskasing.

On June 27, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the North East Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant at a residence on Byng Avenue in Kapuskasing.

During the investigation, four people were arrested, and police seized drugs suspected to be cocaine, lorazepam, diazepam, chlordiazepoxide, clonazepam, methamphetamine, morphine, a .22 calibre starter pistol, a cell phone, and $500 in Canadian currency. The total estimated street value of the seizure was $18,000. 

As a result of this investigation, Melissa BOUCHARD 39-years-of-age of Cochrane, Levi LEACH 33 years-of-age of Kapuskasing, and Myriam SIGOUIN 38 years-of-age of Kapuskasing, were arrested and charged with the following:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid

·        Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – Lorazepam (two counts)

·        Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – Diazepam

·        Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – Chlordiazepoxide

·        Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – Clonazepam

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

·        Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Further, Aaron HANSEN, 48 years-of-age of Kapuskasing was arrested and charged with the following:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid

·        Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – Lorazepam (two counts)

·        Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – Diazepam

·        Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – Chlordiazepoxide

·        Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – Clonazepam

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

·        Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

·        Failure to comply with release order (two counts)

Three of the above accused persons (Bouchard, Hansen, and Leach) were released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on a future date.

 The accused person Sigouin remains in custody and will next appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on July 5, 2024.
