Aubrey COTTLE Was Arrested – Details Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – An Oshawa resident is facing charges under the Criminal Code (CC) following an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Cybercrime Investigations Team (CIT). 

As a result of the investigation, Aubrey COTTLE, age 37 of Oshawa, has been charged with the following CC offences:

  • Mischief to computer data
  • Unauthorized use of a computer
  • Possession of a device to obtain unauthorized use of a computer

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Oshawa on March 31, 2025.

A publication ban has been issued and as a result, the OPP will not be able to release further information.

The OPP would like to thank the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad, Durham Regional Police Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their assistance with this investigation.

Investment Fraud – Douglas Grozelle, Crystal Masterson & Jonathan Williams

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Anti-Rackets Branch (ARB) has charged three people in connection with a complex, multi-jurisdictional investment fraud scheme.

 On February 10, 2023, members of the OPP ARB initiated an investigation after receiving allegations of financial fraud related to the scheme.

 As a result of the investigation, three people have been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code.

Douglas Grozelle, age 49, of Burlington, Ontario has been charged with:

  • Fraud over $5,000 x2

 Jonathan Williams, Age 41, of Beamsville, Ontario, has been charged with:

  • Fraud over $5,000

 Crystal Masterson, age 40, of Burlington, Ontario, has been charged with:

  • Fraud over $5,000

The accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Hamilton.

Ditched Vehicle – Mark ANDERSON Arrested

(BRUCE MINES, ON)- While on patrol the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a pickup truck in a ditch.

On March 29, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., members from the OPP’s Sault Ste. Marie Highway Safety Division were patrolling Highway 17 near Garden Bay Road in the Town of Bruce Mines when they observed a blue pickup truck in the westbound ditch with the driver still inside.

The driver exited the vehicle and approached police. During their conversation, police determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the East Algoma OPP detachment in Thessalon for further testing.

Mark ANDERSON, 57 years-of-age from Windsor was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 1, 2025.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for seven days.

School Bus Involved In Colision

(PLYMPTON-WYOMING, ON) – The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a collision in Plympton-Wyoming.

On March 31, 2025, shortly after 7:00 a.m., members of the Lambton County OPP responded to a collision involving a school bus and passenger vehicle on Fleming Road, north of Lakeshore Road in Plympton-Wyoming.

There were passengers on the bus at the time of the collision, fortunately there were no injuries reported.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old of Camlachie was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Carless Driving.

The Lambton County OPP would like to remind motorists to slow down and be prepared to stop for school buses. Always maintain a safe following distance and stay alert.

Walter Wensley Arrested & Vehicle Impounded

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On March 30, 2025 at 10:00 p.m.The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on King William Street.

The suspect vehicle was quickly located at a residence off of Main Street East. The driver was arrested for impaired operation.

Walter Wensley, 63 years old of Huntsville Ontario has been charged with:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario on May 6 , 2025.

The accused’s vehicle was impounded for 7 days and he received a 90 Administrative Driver’s license Suspension.

Assault & Threats – Christopher Campbell Arrested

(MALAHIDE, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment, has charged an individual following a disturbance.

On March 29, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m., members of the Elgin OPP were dispatched to an address in Malahide Township, for the report of a disturbance between family members.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher Campbell a 33-year-old from Malahide was charged with:

·        Assault

·        Mischief – destroys or damages property

·        Uttering Threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused was held for bail.

Peter JACKO Was Arrested

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police arrested and charged one person with mischief.

On March 28, 2025, at approximately 12:40 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of property damage at a local business on King Street, West Nipissing.

An individual had attended the property in the outdoor area and damaged a patio table.

As a result of the investigation, Peter JACKO, 36 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with, mischief

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 1, 2025, in North Bay.

MCINNIS – Drunk Driving

(ALLISTON, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver for driving while impaired in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On March 29, 2025, at 1:56 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP were conducting general patrols in Alliston when an officer observed a motor vehicle fail to obey a stop sign at Church Street North, and Wellington Street West, in the Town of New Tecumseth.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and upon initially speaking to the driver, he began to display signs of impairment along with slow responses to the officer’s commands. The officer made a demand for the Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver complied with the demand and provided a sample of their breath resulting in a “Fail”.

At 2:08 a.m., the driver: James MCINNIS 30 years-old, of New Tecumseth, was arrested and charge with:  

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on April 24, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Repeat Offender Attacks Again #WaitInTheTruck

(PERTH, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers investigated an incident at a residence in Perth on March 29 ,2025. This resulted in the arrest of a 57-year-old man from Perth.

The individual has been charged with:

·      Uttering threats

·      Assault – two counts.

·      Fail to comply with probation- two counts.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 1, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.

Fatal Fire In Wasaga Beach

(Huronia West, ON) – Members from the Huronia West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a structure fire in the 51str Street area of Wasaga Beach, ON, where one person has been confirmed deceased.

On March 31, 2025, at approximately 3:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported collapsed structure fire alongside Firefighters and Simcoe County EMS. The investigation remains ongoing but an 80 -year-old male was located deceased at the scene.  There will be an increased presence of emergency service workers as the investigation continues. We would appreciate the public to remain away from the area.

Fatal Fire

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) – The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Sioux Lookout Fire Services responded to an early morning fire on Saturday that has left one individual deceased.

Just before 7:00 am on March 29, 2025, police and fire personnel responded to a report of a fire at a decommissioned structure on Seventh Avenue, in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout. Police and fire crews responded to an active structure fire in the partially- demolished building. One individual was located deceased. The identity of the individual is yet to be confirmed.

The Office of the Fire Marshal is continuing this investigation in collaboration with the Sioux Lookout Fire Services, Sioux Lookout OPP, Northwest Region Crime Unit, and Forensic Identification Services. Eirinn FARRELL – Drunk Driving

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Carleton Place resident with impaired driving.

Officers responded to a single vehicle collision on County Road 29, North of Carleton Place, in Mississippi Mills Township on Friday, March 28, 2025, just before 3:00 a.m.

The officers, while conducting the investigation, arrested the driver. The driver and a passenger were both transported to hospital in Ottawa with minor injuries and for breath testing of the driver.

As a result of the investigation, Eirinn FARRELL, age 26, of Carleton Place, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – Alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 28, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension), and vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

25 Year Old Arrested Again #WaitInTheTruck

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On March 29, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Investigation determined that a dispute between individuals led to an assault.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old individual from Cambridge has been charged with:

  • Assault, CC 266
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order, CC 733.1(1)
  • Fail to comply with Release Order, CC 145(5)(a) – four counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Dominic GUARAGNA – Impaired Operation

(MIDLAND, ON) –  A call to the OPP Communications Centre reporting a possible impaired driver caused officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to attend a Simcoe County Road 93, Midland gas bar near 5:50 p.m. March 28, 2025.

The suspect vehicle had departed prior to the officers arrival resulting in a patrol of the vicinity and further investigation led officers to intercept the suspect vehicle at a Midland Avenue address shortly afterwards.

The officers spoke with the driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation resulting in Dominic GUARAGNA 62 years of Midland being charged with the following criminal charges.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on the April 10, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Cody BLAIN Was Arrested

(MIDLAND, ON) –  A suspicious vehicle call to the OPP Communications Centre caused officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to attend an Elizabeth Street, Midland address near 11:54 a.m. March 29, 2025 to conduct an investigation into the complaint.

Officers patrolled the area and spoke with an individual who was found to be wanted on outstanding charges by Detachment. Upon being arrested, was searched and resulted in an quantity of substance believed to be fentanyl to be seized.

Charged in connection to these investigations is Cody BLAIN 32 years of no fixed address Midland with the following offence

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin) contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on May 8, 2025.
