Douglas KING – Threats

(MIDLAND, ON) -Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Nelson and Robert Streets, Midland at approximately 6:46 p.m. April 9, 2025.

Upon arrival an individual was located in possession of a sharp edged weapon who was also making verbal threats towards persons in the area. The suspect was arrested without injury and transported to Detachment. Awhile in custody, the accused also destroyed property belonging to the Province of Ontario in the cell area.

Charged in connection to these investigations is 35 year old Douglas KING of Midland with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
  • Mischief Under $ 5,000

And Further With

  • Being intoxicated in public place contrary to the Liquor Licence and Control Act

The accused was held for bail court and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Court at a future date.

Katelyn TILSON Was Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – On April 10, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) along Durham Street East, Municipality of Brockton.

A vehicle entered the area where the police then spoke with the driver. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment.

Katelyn TILSON, 29-years-old, of the Municipality of Brockton, was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance, CDSA 4(1)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on May 21, 2025 to answer to the charge.

17 Year Old Suffers Serious Injuries In Attack

(INGERSOLL, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges following an assault investigation in the Town of Ingersoll.

On April 7, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to an assault that had occurred in the area of Alma Street, in the Town of Ingersoll.

Police attended and investigated. A 17-year-old male youth was located and found to have serious non-life-threatening injuries.

Lucas Thornton, 18-years-old, of Ingersoll, has been charged with:

·      Assault with a weapon – Two counts

·      Uttering threats – Cause death or bodily harm

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock.

 A 15-year-old has been charged with:

·      Robbery with violence

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on a later date.

The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

One Dead – Dylan ROBERTS Facing Manslaughter Charge

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged following the death of an inmate from Warkworth Institution.

On Friday, January 3, 2025, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of an incident that resulted in an inmate being transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to another medical centre. The 30-year-old inmate from Toronto was later pronounced deceased.

As a result of the investigation, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Dylan ROBERTS, 25 years old of Loyalist Township, was arrested and charged with Manslaughter contrary to section 236(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on at a later date.

This investigation is being led by the OPP Northumberland Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

Carmel MARTIN Was Arrested Again

(MISSISSAUGA FIRST NATION, ON)- On March 16, 2025, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence on Old Highway 17 in the Mississauga First Nation community to execute a search warrant.

Investigation revealed that two weeks earlier, an individual had pointed a loaded handgun at their ex-partner in Blind River, violating a Release Order that prohibited contact with the ex-partner, firearm possession, and required the individual to remain in Iron Bridge. On March 16, 2025, a 28-year-old from Iron Bridge was arrested and charged with multiple firearms offences.

While executing the search warrant at the residence police located firearms, ammunition, a crossbow and a spent 9MM casing and a small amount of suspected cocaine.

Prior to the execution of the search warrant, a pickup truck was seen leaving the residence on Old Highway 17 and a subsequent traffic stop was initiated. In the vehicle was a person that formerly lived at that house and was previously issued a trespass notice accompanied by a Band Council Resolution (BRC) from Mississauga First Nation.

On April 10, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Carmel MARTIN, 72 years-of-age from Blind River was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to probation order (two counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance-cocaine
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order

Additionally, under Mississauga First Nation’s Community Protection Act the accused has also been charged with Trespassing pursuant to the Indian Act.

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on April 10, 2025, and was remanded into custody.

Stolen Pickup Truck Recovered – Paul ANTAYA Arrested

(KINGSVILLE, ON) – Essex County OPP has charged an individual after a theft investigation in Kingsville.

On April 7, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a business on Dimar Drive in Kingsville, Essex County, for the report of a theft complaint.

Through the investigation an individual was identified.

It was determined the accused was responsible for additional theft complaints in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

On April 9, 2025, members of the Essex County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) located a stolen pickup in Tecumseh and as a result, Paul ANTAYA, a 36-year-old of Tecumseh, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Theft under $5,000 (two counts)

The accused was held for bail.

Approximately $20,000 in stolen property was recovered, including a pickup truck that had previously been reported as stolen from the City of Windsor.

Michele COADY – Drunk Driving

(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges because of a traffic tip.

On April 9, 2025, at approximately 7:08 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a traffic tip of a possible impaired driver heading southbound on Fairgrounds Road in Clearview Township.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle at the owner’s address. After speaking with the owner/driver, officers noticed an odour of alcohol on the individual’s breath and conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result of the investigation, Michele COADY, 50-year-old of Clearview Township, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Travis BUDGE – Dangerous Operation

(SPANISH, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigate damage to hydro poles.

On Tuesday April 8, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the OPP responded to a mischief complaint on Beckerton Shooting Range Road in the Town of Spanish after a power company reported multiple copper wire thefts from utility poles over the past several weeks.

Investigation revealed that on Monday April 7, a yellow side-by-side vehicle with an extension ladder was seen in the area, with two occupants. About an hour later, the vehicle was seen leaving. An employee later discovered that the ground wire of a utility pole had been cut off, though it wasn’t copper, resulting in about $1,000 in damage.

On April 8, police observed the same side-by-side at a local gas station in Spanish, but it fled at high speed when approached.

On Wednesday April 9, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m., police made an arrest and as result, Travis BUDGE, 35 years-of-age from Spanish was charged with:

  • Mischief under $5000
  • Dangerous operation

The accused appeared is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on June 5, 2025.

Yaman AL-JUNDI Was Arrested

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with impaired driving related charges after an officer was alerted by the ALPR.

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 10:24 a.m., Huronia West OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement southbound on Horseshoe Valley Road in Springwater Township. Officers were alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system which prompted further investigation by the officer resulting in a traffic stop. After a brief discussion with the driver, the officer conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Yaman AL-JUNDI, 31-year-old of Toronto, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The male was additionally charged under the with:

·      Drive Motor Vehicle, No Current Validated Permit

·      Novice Driver – B.A.C. Above Zero

·      Possesses More Than One Licence

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Vikrant CHIBBER Was Arrested

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), have arrested and charged an individual in connection to a fraud investigation.

On April 9 2025, at 5:04 p.m., Officers responded to a report of a fraud at the RBC bank located at 4 King Street North, in the Town of New Tecumseth. The complainant reported that an individual came into the branch and provided a fake ID as well as a SIN letter trying to open an account under the fake ID name. The Caller still had the ID in hand and upon inspecting it the accused took it out of the callers hands in an attempt to flee.

The accused was described as Male, 5’8, facial hair, slim build, black shoes, khaki pants and a black jacket. Officers arrived on scene at which time the accused has just fled on foot, officers were able to quickly locate the male matching the description and as a result of the investigation,

Vikrant CHIBBER, a 25-year-old male of Brampton was arrested and charged with:

  • Use, deals, acts on forged document
  • Possession of an identity document
  • Identity Theft – obtain or possess another persons identity information
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused has been released and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 8 2025.

Christopher ZAHORCHAK Arrested Following Collision

(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges after a single vehicle collision.

On April 5, 2025, at approximately 9:53 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 26 in Clearview Township.

Officers located the vehicle at the intersection of Highway 26 and County Road 7. Officers spoke with the driver and after noticing an odour of alcohol on the driver, officers conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result of the investigation, Christopher ZAHORCHAK, 40-year-old of Borden, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

Michael POZZEBON Was Arrested

(GOULAIS RIVER, ON) – One individual is facing a criminal charge after failing to comply with their court-ordered conditions.

On April 5, 2025, at approximately 4:24 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a family dispute on Thielman Road in Goulais River. Investigation revealed an individual attended the residence of family members, while on conditions not to do so. 

As a result, Michael POZZEBON, 47 years-of-age, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with one count of Breach of Recognizance.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 19, 2025 in Sault Ste. Marie.

Lugor L JADA – Impaired Driving

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – On April 8, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Brock Road South, in Puslinch Township. 

It was reported that a white sedan was driving in an erratic manner on Brock Road South north of Highway 401. Just prior to police arrival, the same vehicle was involved in collision with a passenger van. No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Lugor L JADA, 53-years-old of Kitchener, was charged with:

– Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs contrary to the Criminal Code

– Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

– Adult Novice Drive- blood alcohol concentration above zero

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on April 25, 2025.

Tracy AYRES – Cocaine

(PEMBROKE, ON) – A local individual is facing a drug possession charge after a disturbance was reported in Pembroke.

On April 9, 2025, at approximately 4:00 a.m. officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to an address on John Street due to an individual disturbing the peace and possibly using drugs. Police located an individual in possession of drugs and an arrest was made. Suspected cocaine was seized during the investigation. 

Tracy AYRES, age 43 of Pembroke, has been charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offence:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance – cocaine

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on May 12, 2025.
