Keanna ALATE Arrested Following Collision

(STRATHROY-CARADOC, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after vehicle enters ditch on Highway 402.

On July 11, 2025, at 6:31 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the Westbound lanes of Highway 402 in the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, for the report single vehicle collision at the Longwoods Road on-ramp.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Keanna ALATE, a 28-year-old of Ingersoll has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

·      Fail to have insurance card

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 25, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Eric GOUGH Was Arrested

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS TWP., ON) – A Smiths Falls resident is facing numerous charges after a weapon was seized during an investigation.

On Saturday, July 12, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported break-in at a residence in Mississippi Mills Township.

Officers located and stopped a vehicle in Carleton Place. A search of the vehicle located stolen property and a prohibited weapon with an over-capacity magazine. The two males in the vehicle were arrested and transported to the OPP detachment.

One male was release without charges.

Eric GOUGH, age 24 of Smiths Falls, has been charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Transporting a firearm in a careless manner
  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Unlawfully in a dwelling
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 16, 2025.

Fatal Train Vs Pickup Collision

(BRIGHTON, ON) – Officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision between a train and a pickup truck.

On Monday, July 14, 2025, at about 8:15 a.m., officers and emergency crews responded to a collision between a train and a pickup truck on Hunt Road in the Municipality of Brighton. The driver of the pickup truck, a 69-year-old male of Frankford, Ontario, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Hunt Road was closed for several hours while the OPP and Canadian Pacific Railway conducted their investigations, between County Road 2 to approximately one kilometre south on Hunt Road.

The road reopened just after 1:00 p.m. that same day.

Driver & Passenger Arrested – Assault, Etc.

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals following an investigation into a report of impaired driving in the Municipality of West Perth.

On July 11, 2025 just before midnight, the Perth County OPP attended a local campground regarding a driver who was operating a motor vehicle while impaired. Upon interacting with the driver and passenger, both individuals attempted to flee on foot after the passenger assaulted the responding officers.

Robert BAXTER, 45 years old of Cambridge, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking
  • Failure to Stop for Police – Contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

Joseph RICHARDSON, 37 years old of St. Mary’s, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon
  • Assault Peace Officer – Two Counts
  • Resist Peace Officer

Both individuals were held in custody and later released with a scheduled court date of August 11, 2025 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, Ontario.

Mover Attempts To Extort Customer – Brandon DANIELS Arrested #StandYourGround

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest relating to a ‘moving’ scam.

On Sunday July 13, 2025, the Peterborough County OPP received a call from an individual who was in the process of moving to Peterborough. The caller advised that they had hired a mover who originally quoted a price that seemed too good to be true but were now being asked for more money.

The complainant, who was following the moving truck from Vaughn to Peterborough, said that prior to arriving to their new residence, the moving truck pulled over and demanded more money or they were not going to complete the delivery. The complainant advised that they needed to contact their bank but contacted the OPP instead.

Peterborough County OPP officers arrived on scene blocking the moving truck from being able to drive off. Officers spoke with the driver who was arrested shortly after. The vehicle was impounded, however first taken to the complainant’s residence to be offloaded.

Brandon DANIELS (age 40) of Toronto, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Fraud under $5,000

·      Fail to have insurance card

·      Fail to carry CVOR certificate or lease

·      Fail to accurately complete daily inspection report

·      Fail to ensure daily inspection report is accurately completed

·      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

·      Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit – commercial vehicle

·      Operate unsafe vehicle – commercial motor vehicle

·      Drive motor vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on August 19, 2025.

The Peterborough County OPP want to remind everyone that these types of Scams happen on a regular basis and can be avoided by these simple tips/reminders.

·      If it sounds too good to be true, chances are it is.

·      Do your research before agreeing to a contractor and read any fine print in any contracts

·      If you have concerns that it might be a scam, call your local police agency.

Pervert Alert – Sam PORGHAVAMI, Child Pornography, Etc.

(OTTAWA, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU), with the assistance of the OPP Digital Forensics Unit and the Ottawa Police Service, has arrested and charged an Ottawa resident following an online child sexual exploitation investigation.

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, police executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of Ottawa and seized a quantity of electronic devices.

As a result of the investigation, Sam PORGHAVAMI, 38 years of age from Ottawa, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·        Make arrangement to commit a sexual offence against a person under 16 years of age, section 172.2(1) – two counts

·        Make child pornography, section 163.1(2)

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on Friday, July 25, 2025.

Quinton RACINE Was Arrested Again

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY, ON) – A City of Pembroke resident is facing numerous charges after the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a stopped vehicle on Highway 17.

Shortly before 2:00a.m. on July 12, 2025, members of the UOV OPP observed a stopped vehicle on the shoulder of the road with its driver side door open in the live lane of traffic on Highway 17. As part of the investigation a standardized field sobriety test was conducted, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.  

As a result of the incident 26-year-old Quinton RACINE has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC), Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLCA), and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA) offences:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs (CC)

·      Fail to comply with probation order (CC)

·      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (CC)

·      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor (LLCA)

·      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle (HTA)

·      Driving while under suspension (HTA)

·      Fail to surrender insurance card (CAIA)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on July 12, 2025, and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.

Robert GARLAND Was Arrested – Details Released

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge an Acton resident with two criminal charges stemming from a traffic complaint.

On July 13, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting proactive traffic enforcement when a traffic complaint came in, informing officers of a motor vehicle displaying signs of impaired driving. Officers quickly attended to the area, located the motor vehicle in question, and performed a traffic stop on Sixth Line within Centre Wellington Township.

As a result of the investigation, Robert GARLAND, a 40-year-old of Acton is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 22, 2025.

Christopher LAMORIE – Theft

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one local person with theft in Gravenhurst.

On Sunday July 13, 2025, just before 1:00 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report of a theft from a retail location on Talisman Drive in Gravenhurst after a man entered the store and made off with a fat-tire bike along with other items.

Police located the suspect and subsequently arrested and charged 45-year-old Christopher LAMORIE of Gravenhurst with Theft Under $5000. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 25, 2025 to answer to his charge.

42 Year Old From Owen Sound Arrested Following Weapon Incident At Campground

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON)– An Owen Sound resident is charged following an incident at a local campground on July 13, 2025.

On July 13, 2025, just before 4:00 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported disturbance at local campground on Wilson Street in South Bruce Peninsula.

Police were notified that an individual had approached campground guests in an aggressive manner and allegedly revealed what appeared to be a firearm during the exchange. The individual was safely taken into custody.

Jonathan COE 42-year-old of Owen Sound was charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Carrying a concealed weapon

·        Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused is scheduled for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound today, July 14, 2025.

22 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested – Emma Carter

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after being alerted to a possible impaired driver in Verulam.

On Sunday July 13, 2025 at approximately 9:10 pm officers were notified of a possible impaired driver that had driven through Bobcaygeon causing concerns. Officers entered into an impaired driving investigation and the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related charges.

Emma Carter, 22-year-old of Verulam, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days.

Patrick Wattman-Mackie – Impaired Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after stopping a motor vehicle at a RIDE program.

On Sunday July 13, 2025 at approximately 2:42 am officers were conducting a RIDE program checking sobriety on Highway 35 near Golf Course Road. The driver entered into the RIDE program and following an interaction was arrested and charged with impaired driving related charges.

Patrick Wattman-Mackie, 33-year-old of Nestleton, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and drivers license was suspended for 90 days.

Body of 22 Year Old Recovered – Dawson LOWES Arrested

(ADDINGTON HIGHLANDS, ON) – Members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges on a boater after a passenger fell overboard early yesterday morning and did not resurface.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, OPP received a call that an individual had fallen into the water at Weslemkoon Lake in the Township of Addington Highlands.

A coordinated response was launched involving units from the OPP’s L&A County and Bancroft Detachments, Marine Unit, Aviation Services, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, as well as the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.

Later that day, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the body of a deceased 22-year-old male from Toronto was recovered.

As a result of the investigation, Dawson LOWES, a 21-year-old male also from Toronto, has been charged with:

  • Operation causing death
  • Dangerous operation causing death
  • Operating while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The investigation is ongoing and the identity of the deceased is not being released at this time.

Paul JOHNSON – Assault With Weapon, Etc.

(Prince Edward County, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual in response to a weapons related incident in Picton.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, around 5:30 p.m. officers responded to a report of a male running through Picton wielding a knife at members of the public. Officers promptly located the individual and arrested them. As a result, no members of the public were injured.

Paul JOHNSON, age 35 of Picton, has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a a prohibited device

This accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 14, 2025.

23 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested For Assault, Breach, Etc.

(WHARNCLIFFE, ON) – A person was arrested after police were called to a resort on Highway 129.

On July 12, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called in relation to a disturbance between numerous people. Police spoke to the people involved and after investigation, one intoxicated person was arrested. 

Owen BOUDREAU, 23-years-old, from Sault Ste. Marie was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Assault
  • Mischief
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 5, 2025.
