Driver Impaired By Drug – BULL

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a resident of British Columbia with Impaired Operation and drug possession charges following a traffic stop in Seaforth earlier this month. 

On Monday, June 6, 2022, at approximately 1:11 a.m. a Huron County OPP officer was conducting patrols in Seaforth when the officer came across a car parked on Main Street South. The officer noticed the driver appeared to be sleeping behind the wheel so she stopped to check on his condition. Upon waking and speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver was displaying several signs of impairment by way of a drug. 

A Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted roadside and the driver performed poorly. As a result, he was transported to the Ingersoll OPP Detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). The driver complied with the tests and was deemed to be impaired by a drug.

Additionally, officers found the driver to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and an opioid. 

Randall BULL, 50 years of age from Chilliwack, British Columbia has been charged with: Operation While Impaired, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine & Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid. 

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 18, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Collision Update: Name Of 17 Year Old Deceased Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, along with members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate a fatal collision involving a cyclist that took place last night.

On June 29, 2022, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Huron County OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services and the South Huron Fire Department responded to a report of a cyclist that was struck by a car east of Crediton near Airport Line.

The cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Brody FELTZ, 17 years of age from Crediton. 

A post-mortem examination was scheduled to take place today (30June).

Crediton Road re-opened for public travel earlier this morning (30June).

35 Year Old From Goderich Arrested

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint stop that took place in Clinton earlier this month. 

On Friday, June 3, 2022, at approximately 10:54 p.m. Huron OPP officers were conducting RIDE checks on Princess Street East when a sport utility vehicle entered the checkpoint. In speaking with the driver the investigating officer detected the odour of alcohol coming from the driver. As a result, a roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail.

The driver was then placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Kathryn MCCABE, 35 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 4, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

12 Year Old Facing Assault & Threats Charges

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On June 26, 2022, at approximately 6:00p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a weapons complaint that took place on Elizabeth Street East in the Municipality of North Perth.

It was determined that the victim was at a local park when they were approached by a youth who brandished an edged weapon.

As a result, a 12-year-old resident of North Perth was charged with:

–      Assault

–      Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, located in Stratford, at a later date.

Deceased Person Recovered From Lake Huron

(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – On June 29, 2022, just after 8:16 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation Police, Saugeen Shores Fire Department, Sauble Beach Fire Department, Grey County Paramedic Services (PS), and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton responded to a report of an individual that had entered the water in Lake Huron.

At approximately 9:50 a.m., an individual was removed from the water. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased. They have been identified as Robert KLINGBEIL, 50-years-old from Burlington.

The Grey Bruce OPP are continuing to investigate with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME).

18 Year Old From Gorrie Arrested For Suspicion Of Smoking Weed #EndThePoliceState

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On June 18, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Line 87 and Road 165 in the Municipality of North Perth.

Upon speaking with a driver, the officer had reason to believe the driver had recently used Cannabis. The officer conducted a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) on the driver. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to a local operations centre for further testing.

As a result, Jesse MCNICHOL, 18, of Gorrie, has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.

Impaired Driver Arrested In Dashwood

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A resident of Mississauga has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a traffic stop earlier this month in Dashwood.

On Friday, June 4, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint in Dashwood when they had an opportunity to speak to the driver of a sports car.

Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer had suspicioned the driver had consumed some alcohol thus a roadside screening test was conducted. The driver complied with test and registered a fail. He was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further testing. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit.

Omar SIBAI, 30 years of age from Mississauga has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 8, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Officer Assaulted – STROEDER Arrested Again

(CARRICK TWP, ON) – On June 2, 2022, at 11:11 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious person at a property along Concession 14, Carrick Township. 

Officers arrived on scene and were confronted by an individual holding a weapon who refused to cooperate with police.

Members of the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to the call and took the accused into custody without incident.

Members of the South Bruce OPP Major Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification assisted the South Bruce OPP with the investigation.

As a result of the police investigation, 21-year-old Mason STROEDER of Carrick Township was charged with:

  • Assault a peace officer with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Attempt to commit murder
  • Resist a peace officer
  • Flight from police
  • 4 counts of Drive while Prohibited
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Fail to comply with probation

An OPP cruiser was damaged, but there were no injuries reported at the scene.

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.

47 Year Old From Goderich Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – A Goderich resident has been charged with Impaired Operation and 80 Plus following a traffic stop that took place in Goderich last week.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at approximately 10:21 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver leaving a business located on Kingston Street. Officers immediately began patrolling for the suspect vehicle and within minutes an officer located the suspect vehicle parked on North Street. 

The investigating officer noticed the driver in the driver’s seat so a check was initiated to assess the driver’s condition. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol and was displaying several signs of impairment. As a result, the driver was arrested for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further testing. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Susan OLSON, 47 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). She has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 22, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Bluevale

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Morris-Turnberry resident with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a traffic stop earlier this month in Bluevale.

On Saturday, June 11, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Huron County OPP was conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checks in Bluevale when a pickup truck entered the checkpoint. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer had suspicions the driver had consumed some alcohol. As a result, a roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail.

The driver was then arrested and transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Tyler VERBEEK, 42 years of age from Morris -Turnberry has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 25, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Fatal Collision Involving Cyclist

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently on scene of a fatal collision that took place earlier tonight near Crediton.

On June 29, 2022 at approximately 9:50 p.m., Huron County OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services and the South Huron Fire Department responded to a report of a cyclist that was struck by a vehicle east of Crediton on Crediton Road (Huron County Road #10).

The cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team will be attending the scene to assist with the collision investigation.

Crediton Road (Huron County Road #10) is currently closed between Ausable Line and Airport Line.

STEPHEN & MAUNG Arrested For Impaired Driving

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – Two more drivers are facing criminal court dates for impaired driving after being stopped by the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

  • On June 24, 2022, at 3:42 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Bruce County Road 86. Officers located the vehicle and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Matthew MAUNG, 28-years-old, of Peel Region was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. 
  • On June 23, 2022, at 10:32 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Yonge Street north in Walkerton. Officers located the vehicle and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Wayne STEPHEN, 43-years-old, of Arran-Elderslie Township, was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams.

Both accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.

This charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

32 Year Old Passed Out Driver From South Huron Arrested

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with Impaired Operation following a traffic stop that took place in Crediton earlier this month. 

On Thursday, June 2, 2022 at approximately 12:39 p.m. Huron OPP officers received a call about a vehicle that was being operated in Crediton in a very erratic manner. Officers immediately began patrolling for the suspect vehicle and soon after it was spotted parked at a residence located on Victoria Street East. 

Officers walked up to the vehicle and noticed the driver was sleeping in the driver’s seat. Upon waking the driver, officers noted the male had been drinking alcohol and was displaying serval signs of impairment. 

The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Michael REGIER, 32 years of age from South Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 25, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver From Chatsworth Arrested

(CHATSWORTH, ON) On June 20, 2022, at approximately 9:45 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Chatsworth Fire Department, and Grey County Paramedic Services (PS) responded to a report of a motorist who was unresponsive in their vehicle.

Police arrived on scene and spoke with the driver of the motor vehicle. Officers detected signs of impairment and placed the driver under arrest. They were transported to a local police detachment for further testing.

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged Taja CHASCHOWY, 46 years-of-age from Chatsworth Township, with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired

·        Operation while prohibited (Two Counts)

·        Possession of a schedule I substance (Two Counts)

The accused was released and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound later.

Stabbing – 4 Face Charges

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) On June 24, 2022, at 7:04 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) and Grey County Paramedic Services (PS) responded to a report of a stabbing on Grey Road 1 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

Officers arrived on scene and an individual was transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The accused individuals fled the scene prior to police arrival but were later taken into custody.

The Grey Bruce OPP have arrested and charged Joseph CRONK-GRAVER, 19-years-old from South Bruce Peninsula with the following offences:

·        Aggravated Assault

·        Assault a peace officer with a weapon

·        Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·        Mischief over $5,000

·        Failure to stop after accident

·        Dangerous operation

·        Flight from peace officer (two counts)

·        Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.

Also charged are the following individuals:

A 15-year-old male from South Bruce Peninsula:

·        Theft of motor vehicle

·        Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000

A 15-year-old female from Owen Sound:

·        Theft of motor vehicle

·        Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000

 A 14-year-old female from Owen Sound:

·        Theft of motor vehicle

·        Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000

The accused youth cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. All three have been released with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
