Fatal Collision On Hwy 21

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On June 25, 2022, at approximately 1:14 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Inter Township Fire Department, and Grey County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Highway 21 and Highway 6 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

One of the involved drivers was transported to a local area hospital where they were pronounced deceased. They have been identified as Loraine NEWMAN, 77 years-of-age from Georgian Bluffs.

The Grey Bruce OPP are continuing the investigation with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME).

Dana FITZGERALD Facing Theft Charge

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A suspect has been charged after stealing from a local business in the Municipality of North Perth. On June 17, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a business on Mitchell Road South, in Listowel, after a person was witnessed shoplifting.

Dana FITZGERALD, 28, of Campbell River, British Columbia, has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Another ATV Stolen

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On June 17, 2022, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen all-terrain vehicle (ATV) from a residence on Line 90, in the Municipality of North Perth.

It was determined that the vehicle was parked, with the keys in it, at the owner’s residence when it was stolen.

The ATV is described as a 2017 Black CANA LW with a red bumper and several stickers on the white portion of the ATV.

Trucks & Trailer Stolen

(WEST PERTH, ON) – On June 19, 2022, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of two stolen trucks and trailer sometime between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on June 19, 2022, from a residence located on Line 21 in the Municipality of West Perth. It was reported that both vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside.

The stolen pick ups and trailer are described as follows:

–      2008 White Ford SRW

–      2021 Black Chevrolet Silverado

–      2012 Black flatbed JDJ BC trailer

The estimated value of the stolen property is over $75,000.

The Perth County OPP would like to remind citizens to keep all vehicles and buildings locked and report any suspicious activity immediately. Consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms.

18 Year Old Has Vehicle Impounded

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver after they were speeding more than 50 km/hr over the limit in Perth County.

On June 17, 2022, at approximately 10:20 a.m., a police officer on general patrol stopped a vehicle on Perth Road 130 in the Perth County, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 130km/hr in an 80km/h limit zone.

An 18-year-old resident of Sebringville has been charged with:

–      Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

A 30-day driving suspension and 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Another Break & Enter

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Police are looking for suspect(s) after a break, enter and theft at a residence on Perth Line 88 in the Municipality of North Perth.   

On June 9, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter at a residence that was under renovation. The suspect(s) entered through the front door by damaging a door jamb. Approximately $755 in tools were stolen.

The Perth County OPP would like to remind citizens to keep all vehicles and buildings locked and report any suspicious activity immediately. Consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms.

$33,000 In Jewellery Stolen

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On June 10, 2022 just before 6:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a break, enter and theft at a residence located on Perth Line 72 in the Municipality of North Perth.

Sometime between June 7, 2022 and June 10, 2022, unknown person(s) entered the residence and removed cash and jewellery totalling approximately $33,000.

The public is asked to report suspicious activity immediately, and remember to lock doors to vehicles, houses, garages, and sheds. Do not leave keys with vehicles, including ATVs. Consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms.

Wheelbarrow & Top Soil Stolen – HULLEY Arrested

(PERTH EAST, ON) – One person has been charged after multiple items were stolen from outside of a business in the Township of Perth East.  

On June 9, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that two thefts had taken place between June 8, 2022 at 11:30 p.m. and June 9, 2022 at 4:30 a.m. from a business located on Main Street North in Milverton. The items that were stolen were peat moss, topsoil, and a wheelbarrow. The value of the stolen items is approximately $750.

Derek HULLEY, 34, of Perth East, has been charged with:

–       Theft Under $5000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

4 More Impaired Charges

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Four more people have been charged with impaired related offences in Perth County, and each was located by a different circumstance.

Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program on June 10, 2022, just after 12:30 a.m., on Main Street North, in Perth East, when a vehicle stop was conducted. During the investigation, it was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device was used, and they were arrested, and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Dale GOSSE, 60, of Debert, has been charged with:

–       Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

On June 12, 2022, just before 3:00 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle after they observed concerning driving behavior on Perth Road 164 in the Municipality of West Perth.

During the investigation, it became apparent the driver had consumed alcohol and was showing signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Quinn BUCHANAN, 23, of Perth South, has been charged with:

–       Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–       Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

On June 15, 2022, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Perth-Oxford Road in the Township of Perth East.

During the investigation, the driver was showing signs of alcohol consumption. The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

Delbert REYES, 27, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

–       Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–       Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

 On June 16, 2022, at approximately 8:38 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Line 34 in the Township of Perth East.

During the investigation, the driver was showing signs of impairment. A Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was completed. The driver was arrested and transported to a local police Detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Evaluator.

As a result, Tonya LEDERMAN, 43, of Baden, has been charged with:

–       Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

All of the accused parties were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.

ALERT: Pacey FEDDES & Matthew CHARLTON Wanted By Police – Call 911 Immediately If Seen

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – Investigators from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment are seeking assistance from the public in locating two individuals wanted on outstanding warrants.

Both wanted persons are also linked persons of interest in recent theft and fail to stop for police occurrences in Huron, Bruce, and Perth Counties.

Huron County OPP currently holds an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Pacey FEDDES of Bruce County, Ontario for the offence of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000 and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order. 

The accused is described as a white male about 5′ 9″, 135 pounds, thin build, with brown eyes and brown hair.  He is known to frequent Grey-Bruce, Huron & Perth counties. 

Police are also actively attempting to locate 37-year-old Matthew CHARLTON also from Bruce County, Ontario. South Bruce OPP has an outstanding warrant for Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. Additionally, Hanover Police Service holds an arrest warrant for Matthew CHARLTON on several outstanding offences. 

He is described as a white male, about 6′ 1″, 185 pounds, medium build, shaved head with brown eyes. He is known to frequent Grey-Bruce and Huron Counties.

Break & Enter – 4 Arrested – SHPAK, SMITH, MACDONALD & DUCK

(CHATSWORTH, ON) On June 16, 2022, at 12:59 a.m., The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break-and-enter in progress on Williams Lake Road in the Township of Chatsworth.

Police arrived on scene and located a motor vehicle containing four occupants. During the investigation, it was determined that the occupants were linked to break-and-enters in the area, and they were placed under arrest.

The following individuals are facing charges:

Daniel SHPAK, 42-years-old from Chatsworth Township.

·        Break, enter a dwelling house with the intent to commit indictable offence

·        Possession break in instruments

Jake SMITH, 27-years-old from Grey Highlands.

·        Break, enter a dwelling house with the intent to commit indictable offence

·        Possession break in instruments

Amy MACDONALD, 42-years-old from Amaranth.

·        Break, enter a dwelling house with the intent to commit indictable offence

·        Possession break in instruments

·        Driving while under suspension

·        Use plate not authorized for vehicle

Kyle DUCK, 30-years-old From Southgate.

·        Break, enter a dwelling house with the intent to commit indictable offence

·        Possession break in instruments

The accused parties were released with a future court date to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

Two Arrested – Forgery, Weapons, Etc.

(CHATSWORTH, ON) On May 29, 2022, at 9:02 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a traffic complaint on Moto Park Road in the Township of Chatsworth.

Police located the motor vehicle and discovered stolen property. Both occupants of the motor vehicle were placed under arrest.   

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged Jeffrey VIGNEAU, 32-years-old from Guelph, with the following offences:

·        Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (four counts)

·        Forgery (four counts)

·        Possession of an identity document

·        Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·        Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The Grey Bruce OPP have also charged Tessara REYES, 36-years-old of no fixed address, with the following offences:

·        Forgery (four counts)

·        Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

·        Possession of an identity document

Officers recovered several stolen identity documents, a quantity of suspected controlled substances and several weapons, including a black BB gun resembling a Glock handgun.

Both accused parties have been released, with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

Drunk Driver Arrested – ROANE

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On June 15, 2022, at approximately 5:48 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single-vehicle collision on Meadowland Road in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

Police arrived on scene and located the driver of the motor vehicle. Officers detected signs of impairment and placed the driver under arrest. They were transported to a local police detachment for further testing.

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged Thomas ROANE, 46 years-of-age from Sauble Beach, with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

Break & Enter – SMITH & THOMPSON

(CHATSWORTH, ON) On June 15, 2022, at 8:27 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break-and-enter in progress on Grey Road 109 in the Township of Southgate.

Officers arrested and charged the following two individuals:

·        Amanda SMITH, 43-years-old from Southgate, with Break, enter dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence.

·        Ronald THOMPSON, 74-years-old from Owen Sound, with Break, enter dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence.  

Both accused were released with a future court date to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

Large Meth Bust – $200,000 In Stolen Property Recovered

(CULROSS TWP, ON) – On June 8, 2022, at 4:59 a.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a fuel theft from a property along Patrick Street in Huron East. A White cube van was reported to be involved in the theft. 

On June 8, 2022, at 5:50 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of an attempted vehicle theft in the village of Teeswater. Responding officers received a description of a White cube van involved in the attempted theft.

Members of Huron County OPP located the suspect vehicle located on a rural property along Concession 2 in Culross Township. Investigators received information that the suspects had access to firearms. 

Members of the West Region OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine Unit, OPP Aviation Services, OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), South Bruce OPP Major Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and Huron County OPP are assisting the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.

As a result of the execution of a search warrant, police seized a quantity of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl. The estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $25,500.

Officers also recovered a large quantity of stolen property. The list of recovered property includes:

·        Chevrolet Silverado 1500

·        Ford F350

·        Ford F450 Cargo Van

·        Ford Excursion

·        Pontiac Firebird

·        Sea-Doo Boat

·        Utility Trailer

The combined value of the recovered stolen property is estimated to be $211,235.

The investigation is continuing.
