Wroxeter Assaults – Jason RICHARDSON Arrested

(HOWICK, ON) – On Thursday, March 13th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a dispute in the Village of Wroxeter in the Township of Howick.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed several criminal offences against two persons.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

Jason RICHARDSON, 48 years-of-age from Howick has been charged with:

–      Assault – (two counts),

–      Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death – (two counts),

–      Assault Causing Bodily Harm,

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Operation while Prohibited.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, then later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 07, 2025.

Walkerton Business Smash & Grab

(BROCKTON, ON) – On March 2, 2025, at approximately 12:55 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break & enter at a business property along Durham Street East, Municipality of Brockton.

Officers responded to the location and observed glass had been smashed in order to gain entry. Approximately $25,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from the business. A witness reported two individuals were observed running from the scene before departing in a dark coloured vehicle in the area of Durham Street East and Colborne Street South.

The following is suspect descriptors:

  • Suspect 1: Dark coloured pants, black jacket with white stripes along sleeves, black balaclava, carrying orange & black grocery bag
  • Suspect 2: White pants, white jacket, grey toque & face covering, carrying white & black grocery bag

Two Rescued From Maitland River

(HURON COUNTY, ON) -Two Central Huron residents are warming up after being rescued from their tractor near the Maitland River following a flash flood that left them stranded.

On March 6th, 2025, just before 1:00 p.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a distress call from two individuals who were stranded in rising waters near Fern Hurst Glen Lane in the Municipality of Central Huron.

The pair were on their tractor and suddenly found themselves surrounded by cold, fast-moving water that was rising rapidly. Huron OPP officers attended the scene with Huron County EMS, Goderich Fire Department, Lambton Shores Fire Department, members from the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), JRCC Trenton, and volunteers from Huron and Area Search and Rescue (HASAR).

After determining the best route to access the stranded parties, an inflatable boat was utilized to retrieve the two safely and bring them back to solid ground and awaiting paramedics. The pair were treated at a local hospital as a precaution and are expected to make a full recovery.

The Huron County OPP would like to thank all their emergency response partners for the quick response and excellent teamwork demonstrated to bring this potentially life-threatening situation to a successful conclusion. 

“The OPP is reminding the public to be aware of the changing conditions in and around Huron County waterways and especially the Lake Huron shoreline as the vast amount of snow received this winter is expected to melt quickly in the next several days and weeks.”, stated Constable Craig Soldan – Media Relations and Community Safety Officer with the Huron County OPP.

Missing Person Found Deceased

(GODERICH, ON) – On March 4, 2025, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located the missing 16-year-old male from Goderich deceased.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 1:38 p.m., members of the Huron County OPP were notified of a missing youth, who was last seen on foot near Goderich District Collegiate Institute, located on South Street in Goderich.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, and no foul play is suspected.

The OPP would like to thank the public and media for their assistance during this investigation.

Exeter Business Gets Unexpected Drive-In

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responds to a single motor vehicle collision involving a local business. Extensive damage occurred.

On February 27, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Huron County OPP, alongside local emergency services responded to a single motor vehicle collision off Thames Road, Exeter involving a local business.

The single occupant inside the motor vehicle sustained minor injury, and no employees or customers inside the business were injured. The driver was taken to local hospital as a precaution.

The extent of the damage to the business is currently unknown, as well as the financial impact it might have regarding repairs and business operations.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and there were no road closures as a result of the event.

Coffee Shop Receives Threats – One Arrested

(CARLETON PLACE, ON) – A Carleton Place resident has been charged in connection with a series of threats.

On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a coffee shop in Carleton Place, where employees had received numerous threatening phone calls.

On Monday, February 24, 2025, Lanark County OPP members, assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, executed a warrant at a home on Lake Avenue East. One person was arrested without incident.

Matthew MCGETRICK, age 36, is charged with:

  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – two counts
  • Criminal harassment
  • Harassing communications

The accused remains in custody, with a bail hearing scheduled for today (Tuesday, February 25, 2025) before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth

SEIP Was Arrested Again – Details Released

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On February 19, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault that took place along 1st Avenue South in Chesley. 

On February 21, 2025, the South Bruce OPP were able to arrest one individual in relation to this matter, with the assistance of the OPP’s West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT).

As a result of the investigation, Derek SEIP, 30-years-old of Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:

·      Assault, CC 266

·      Assault with a weapon, CC 267(a)

·      Carrying concealed weapon, CC 90

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order, CC 733.1(1)

·      Trespassing at night, CC 177

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

$85,000 Drug Bust: Christopher BAIRD

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of Guelph BEAT (Break Enter and Auto Theft) Unit, results in the seizure of almost $85,000 worth of illegal drugs and offence-related property. One individual arrested and criminal charges have been laid.

On February 19, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP CSCU conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle on 5th Line within Guelph-Eramosa Township – Wellington County, stemming from an extensive criminal investigation. The traffic stop resulted in one individual being taken into custody without incident. Police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and other offence-related property.

The following day, on February 20, 2025, the Wellington County OPP CSCU executed a search warrant on Argyll Street within the Town of Fergus and seized a quantity of suspected methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), and other offence-related property.

The estimated street value of the illicit drugs is approximately $85,000, and other property estimated value to be $4,000.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher BAIRD, 34-year-old of Fergus, has been arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with the following:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (three counts)

The accused was held in custody, pending a bail hearing, and has since been released and set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 18, 2025.

18 Year Old From Harriston Arrested: Details Released #WaitInTheTruck

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Harriston resident with two criminal charges in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation.

On February 18, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address within Harriston.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old of Harriston is charged under the Criminal Code with the following:

  • Assault – Spousal
  • Assault with a weapon – Spousal

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).

2 Home Invaders Shot To Death: No Charges #StandYourGround #TCB

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate a home invasion in South Glengarry Township which left two people deceased.

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment responded to a home on Old Highway 2. It was reported that the incident began as a home invasion by three males. Two people had been shot and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased individuals have now been identified as Eddie ALOBHOUET, age 19 and Tristan SIMARD, age 18. Both were residents of St. Jerome, Quebec.

Efforts continue to identify a third individual who had fled the scene.

The residents of the home were not injured in the incident. They were initially taken into custody at the scene but were later released unconditionally. Several items, including firearms, were seized from the residence.

There is no threat to public safety as the incident is believed to be targeted.

The investigation is being conducted by members of the SD&G OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Police Cruiser Vs. Snow Plow Collision Near Wingham

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a collision involving a police vehicle north of Wingham in the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry.

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 1:20 p.m., an officer from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment was assisting a motorist on London Road near Glennanon Road when a plow vehicle collided with the police vehicle and a stopped motorized snow vehicle. Two people were transported to hospital. The officer was not injured.

The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team is currently on scene continuing to investigate. London Road is closed north of Wingham and will remain closed for several hours.

The OPP has notified the SIU, which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to [email protected].

Wingham Disturbance – Donald WEBER Arrested Again

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place at a location on Josephine Street in the Town of Wingham, Township of North Huron on Monday February 10th, 2025.   

Just before 6:30 p.m., police were contacted to investigate a disturbance complaint. Police attended and located the suspect who was arrested shortly after police arrival.

Donald WEBER, 58 years of age of no fixed address has been charged with:

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – (three counts),

–      Assault a Peace Officer.

The accused was processed and held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich where they were remanded into custody.

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On February 8th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Central Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner.

A 35-year-old individual from Central Huron has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 17th, 2025.

Patrick FLETCHER Was Arrested – Details Released

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On February 13, 2025, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a disturbance at an address along 1st Avenue South in Chesley. 

While police were on scene, an individual became assaultive with officers. They were subsequently placed under arrest. No injuries were sustained by police or the accused.

As a result of the investigation, Patrick FLETCHER, 35-years-old from Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:

  • Assault police, CC 270(1)(a)
  • Obstruct peace officer, CC 129(1)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on March 26, 2025 to answer to the charges.

Kyle HENRY Arrested 2X In One Day In Goderich – #Catch&Release

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual from Huron County following incidents at two separate locations in the Town of Goderich on February 6th, 2025. 

On February 6th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by staff at the Goderich Hospital who reported an individual causing a disturbance and mischief on hospital property. Police attended and arrested the individual. Several charges were laid as follows:

Kyle HENRY, 58 years of age of no fixed address has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Causing a Disturbance,

–      Indecent Act – Public Place.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The accused was processed and held in custody for a bail hearing where they were later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 10th, 2025. 

On February 6th, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., Huron County OPP were contacted by staff at a Goderich retail store on Huron Road. An individual was reported to have committed a mischief while inside the store. The individual was identified as the same accused charged earlier in the day. The accused was located near the store and arrested by police. An additional charge against Kyle HENRY has been laid as follows:

–      Mischief Under $5,000.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 10th, 2025.
