Youth Shot – 5 Suspects At Large

Five suspects are wanted after a shooting left a youth injured on Tuesday night in Pickering.

On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at approximately 10:05 p.m., members of West Division responded to the area of Kingston Road and Valley Farm Road for a victim that had been shot. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim suffering from a bullet wound. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre but has since been released with non-life-threatening injuries. Five suspects had fled on foot prior to police arrival.

An investigation determined the shooting occurred in a residential complex at 1580 Kingston Road, Pickering. Officers located one residence that had been shot. There were no further physical injuries reported.  

Suspect #1 is described as wearing a dark coloured hooded sweater, dark pants and black shoes.  

Suspect #2 is described as wearing a light-coloured sweater with dark shoulders and dark pants.

Suspect #3 is described as wearing a grey sweater and grey pants.

Suspect #4 is described as wearing a white jacket, dark pants and bright shoes.

Suspect #5 is described as wearing a white hat, grey jacket, grey pants and black shoes.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with video footage, including home surveillance and dashcam, in the residential complex and the shopping plaza located at 1550 Kingston Road between the hours of 9:45 p.m. to 10:20 p.m., to please come forward to police.

Hospital Shooting – One Arrested

 LONDON, ON (January 15, 2025) – A suspect has been identified in relation to a shooting that took place at London Health Sciences Centre’s Victoria Hospital on December 14, 2024. 

Members of the LPS Major Crime Section have laid charges by way of warrant of arrest, as the suspect male is currently in custody in another jurisdiction on unrelated charges. 

As a result of the investigation, Doneil Josiah Levy-Porter, 18, of Brampton, has been charged with the following offences:This is an image of the accused

  • Attempt to commit murder using a firearm;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance;
  • Discharge a restricted firearm or a prohibited firearm in a reckless manner;
  • Fail to comply with release order; and
  • Fail to comply with undertaking.

The accused remains in custody in another jurisdiction.

Taylor Swift Ticket Scammer Facing Numerous Charges

The Toronto Police Service is updating the public on an additional arrest made and new charges laid in a fraudulent ticket scam investigation.

See excerpt below from previous release on Monday, November 25, 2024: 

It is alleged that:

  • the accused, while using the alias of ‘Denise Blackhawk’ on Facebook Marketplace, offered tickets for the Taylor Swift concerts being held in Toronto
  • the accused provided various dates and seat locations for the concerts
  • once a price was agreed upon, victims sent e-transfers to the accused for full payment of the tickets 
  • some of these tickets were purchased in August 2023 when the concert tickets first became available
  • the accused advised the victims that tickets would not be released until days prior to the concert
  • on the day of the concert, victims found that the tickets had not been transferred to their accounts
  • when victims requested their money back, the accused alleged that the money was gone
  • twenty-eight victims paid for fraudulent tickets with a value of just under $70,000

On Monday, November 25, 2024, Denise Tisor, of Burlington, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Fraud Over $5,000
  2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  3. Thirty-two counts of Fraud Under $5,000
  4. Thirty-two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, the following additional charges were laid against Denise Tisor, 44, of Burlington: 

  1. Fraud Over $5,000
  2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  3. Eight counts of Fraud Under $5,000
  4. Eight counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in room 201.

Additionally, David Lloyd Blake, 56, of Burlington, has also been arrested and charged with:

  1. Nineteen counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in room 201.

Police believe there may be more victims. Toronto Police Service is working with the Halton Regional Police Service on this ongoing investigation.

West Grey Police Weekly Update 07-14Jan2025

On January 12, 2025 West Grey Police were advised about a domestic assault which occurred in November in Durham. A 42 year old male was arrested, charged and released with conditions to not have contact with the victim or attend her residence. He will appear in court in early February to answer to the charge.

On January 2, 2025 West Grey Police and Municipal animal control began an investigation into a dog attack on a 58 yr old male who was jogging on the Glenelg-Holland Townline. The male suffered serious life altering injuries in the attack by multiple dogs. The attack ended when a passing motorist who chased the pack of dogs off and transported the male to hospital. A 68 year old resident of West Grey has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm as sa result of this incident. The owner is now under strict conditions in relation to control of the dogs . She will appear in court the end of February to answer to the charge.

On January 13, 2025 Grey Bruce OPP arrested a male party on outstanding warrant for breaching conditions of a release order. The 37 year old West Grey resident was released and will attend court in February to answer to the additional charge.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people with impaired driving between January 11th and 13th, 2025.

On Saturday January 11, at 2:40 p.m., while Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting an investigation, they had an interaction with a driver in the area of Southbank Drive in Bracebridge. As a result of that interaction, police arrested and charged 30-year-old Brittany GEMMILL with Failure/Refusal to Provide a Breath Sample CC 320.15(1). She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 4, 2025 to answer to her charge.

On Monday January 13, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. a member of the public called police to report their concerns over the condition of a driver who had their vehicle stuck in the snow on Highway 11 South at Doe Lake Road in Gravenhurst. Officers attended and subsequently arrested and charged 36-year-old Justin LEGG of Bracebridge with Operation while Impaired by Drug CC 320.14(1)(a). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on February 11, 2025 to answer to his charge.

Ahmed KAHN – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver involved in a single vehicle collision with impaired operation.

On January 13, 2025, shortly after 9:00 p.m., Caledon OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Torbram Road just south of Old School Road in the Town of Caledon. During the course of the investigation, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

As a result, Ahmed KAHN, 22, of Brampton was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Novice driver – B.A.C above zero

·      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 30, 2025, to answer for the charges. The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven. 

Caledon OPP would like to take this opportunity to educate motorists on the rules and consequences for novice and young drivers when it comes to the consumption of alcohol or drugs:

–      Ontario drivers with the licence class of G1 or G2 are considered novice drivers.

–      Ontario drivers under the age of 22 are considered young drivers.

–      Young and novice drivers cannot consume any alcohol or drug before operating a motor vehicle.

This means young and novice drivers must have zero traces of alcohol or drug when operating a vehicle.

There is a zero-tolerance policy for impaired drivers on our roads and the OPP is committed to ensuring all drivers understand the rules and consequences before getting behind the wheel.

If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, do not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it. North Huron Resident Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Huron resident with an Impaired driving offence following a traffic stop on January 11, 2025, in the Township of North Huron. 

At about 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were patrolling in the Village of Blyth when they conducted a traffic stop with a motorized snow vehicle (snowmobile). Police spoke to the lone operator and determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving the machine.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Reid BUTTON, 21 years of age from North Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved snowmobile was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 24, 2025.

Kyle RUSSELL – Drunk Driving

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Middlesex Centre resident with Impaired driving offences following a sobriety check at a “Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere” (R.I.D.E.) checkpoint on January 11, 2025, in the Municipality of Bluewater, Bayfield. 

At about 11:45 p.m., on Saturday, January 11, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE check on Bluewater Highway at Short Hill Road. A vehicle driver pulled up to the checkpoint and spoke with police. Officers determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Kyle RUSSELL, 39 years of age from Middlesex Centre has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 24, 2025.

Winghamite Tracks Down Stolen Property – One Arrested #StandYourGround #Enough

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident following an e-bicycle theft in Wingham on January 11, 2025. 

Just after 6:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 11, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by a complainant who advised that their e-bicycle had just been stolen. The owner followed the bicycle tracks in the snow and located the bicycle and suspect, who fled on foot. The bicycle was recovered by the owner. The suspect was identified and arrested soon after the incident.

Brandon STONE, 32 years of age from Huron East has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 3rd, 2025.

Destiny MEAD – Drunk Driving

(SELWYN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a single vehicle collision that led to the driver being charged with impaired.

On January 14, 2025, shortly after 8:00pm, Peterborough County OPP received a report of a vehicle that had gone off the road at the intersection of 3rd Line and Fairbairn Street. The caller, who was also the driver, advised that their vehicle ended up in the ditch and was stuck.

Officers attended the scene and observed the vehicle to be well off the roadway in a field. Officers located the driver who was displaying signs of impairment and as a result was arrested. The driver was transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment

Destiny MEAD (age 26) of Peterborough, ON, was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on February 18, 2025.

Craig SZATROWSKI – Break & Enter, Theft

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following a break-and-enter investigation at Norfolk General Hospital.

At approximately 3:17 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a break-and-enter in progress at Norfolk General Hospital on West Street in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that two individuals unlawfully entered the exterior property, targeting an outbuilding, and attempted to steal various items.

Officers located and arrested one of the suspects on Elgin Avenue in Simcoe, while the second suspect, described as wearing a multi-coloured bomber-style jacket, fled the scene on foot.

48-year-old Craig SZATROWSKI from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence,
  • Theft under $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

North Huron Resident Arrested For Assault With Weapon #WaitInTheTruck

(NORTH HURON, ON) – On January 5th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Township of North Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed several criminal acts against their partner.

A 36-year-old individual from North Huron has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault with a Weapon – Spousal – (two counts),

–      Assault – Spousal – (two counts),

–      Mischief – Domestic.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Arrest Following Incident At Hospital

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following a trespassing incident at Norfolk General Hospital.

At approximately 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a trespassing incident at Norfolk General Hospital on West Street in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that an individual refused to leave the premises after being directed to do so by hospital staff, prompting police involvement.

Officers located the individual on the premises, and during their interaction, caused damage to an OPP vehicle.

As a result, the individual was taken into custody.

46-year-old Kristy WILLAERT-RAGANY from Oxford County has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Mischief – destroys or damages property.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

LAROCQUE Facing Numerous Fraud Charges – Police Fear More Victims

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person following reports of fraudulent interactions involving a snow removal and general contracting business.

Victims reported that they paid for services which the business failed to provide.

As a result of the investigation, 44-year-old Michael Richard Lee LAROCQUE of Arnprior has been charged with:

·        Fraud under $5000- 16 counts

·        Obtaining by false pretence under $5000- 16 counts

·        Fraud over $5000

·        Obtaining by false pretence over $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 19, 2025.

This is an ongoing and complex investigation, and the charges have not been proven in court. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim of fraud, and has not spoken to investigators, should contact Renfrew OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Clemence BRIERE – Drunk Driving

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – A driver was arrested for impaired driving after arriving at the Kapuskasing Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment.

On January 14, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., an individual drove to the James Bay OPP detachment in Kapuskasing for an appointment. During their interaction with the individual, officers detected signs of alcohol consumption. The driver was subsequently arrested and subjected to further testing at the detachment.

As a result of the investigation, Clemence BRIERE, 53 years of age of Timmins, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Possession of a schedule III substance – psilocybin

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 24, 2025, in Kapuskasing. In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
