Shooting Caught On Video

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are appealing for witnesses and searching for a suspect after a woman was shot outside her home in the City of Markham.

On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Lee Avenue and Noble Street. When they arrived, they located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injures.

Video recovered from the area shows the suspect arrived in a dark-coloured, Audi A4 sedan. The suspect is described as male, Asian, skinny build, wearing a high-visibility vest, construction helmet, a dark-coloured hooded sweater, black pants and a medical mask.

The victim exited her home to speak with the suspect and as she was returning to her residence the suspect shot her.

Investigators believe the incident is targeted and are appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken to police to please come forward. Additionally, officers are seeking surveillance video or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the shooting.

Youth Shot – 5 Suspects At Large

Five suspects are wanted after a shooting left a youth injured on Tuesday night in Pickering.

On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at approximately 10:05 p.m., members of West Division responded to the area of Kingston Road and Valley Farm Road for a victim that had been shot. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim suffering from a bullet wound. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre but has since been released with non-life-threatening injuries. Five suspects had fled on foot prior to police arrival.

An investigation determined the shooting occurred in a residential complex at 1580 Kingston Road, Pickering. Officers located one residence that had been shot. There were no further physical injuries reported.  

Suspect #1 is described as wearing a dark coloured hooded sweater, dark pants and black shoes.  

Suspect #2 is described as wearing a light-coloured sweater with dark shoulders and dark pants.

Suspect #3 is described as wearing a grey sweater and grey pants.

Suspect #4 is described as wearing a white jacket, dark pants and bright shoes.

Suspect #5 is described as wearing a white hat, grey jacket, grey pants and black shoes.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with video footage, including home surveillance and dashcam, in the residential complex and the shopping plaza located at 1550 Kingston Road between the hours of 9:45 p.m. to 10:20 p.m., to please come forward to police.

Hospital Shooting – One Arrested

 LONDON, ON (January 15, 2025) – A suspect has been identified in relation to a shooting that took place at London Health Sciences Centre’s Victoria Hospital on December 14, 2024. 

Members of the LPS Major Crime Section have laid charges by way of warrant of arrest, as the suspect male is currently in custody in another jurisdiction on unrelated charges. 

As a result of the investigation, Doneil Josiah Levy-Porter, 18, of Brampton, has been charged with the following offences:This is an image of the accused

  • Attempt to commit murder using a firearm;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance;
  • Discharge a restricted firearm or a prohibited firearm in a reckless manner;
  • Fail to comply with release order; and
  • Fail to comply with undertaking.

The accused remains in custody in another jurisdiction.

Drive By Shooting – Suspect(s) At Large

A suspect is being sought after shots were fired into a residence in Whitby.

On Sunday December 22, 2024, at approximately 10:35 p.m., members of Central West Division responded for gun shots reported in the area of Rivers Edge Place and Taunton Road East.  A male wearing dark clothing was seen fleeing the area in a white Mercedes SUV.  Officers arrived on scene and located a residence with several bullet holes.  The residence was unoccupied at the time of the shooting, and no injuries have been reported to police.

Waterloo Regional Police Respond to Another Shooting

Waterloo Region, Ontario  Waterloo Regional Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a Cambridge residence.

On December 18, 2024, at approximately 7:45 a.m., police responded to reports of residential property damage caused by a firearm in the area of Munch Avenue and Sekura Street.

There are no reports of any physical injuries and it is believed the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m.

The investigation remains ongoing and there will be an increased police presence in the area throughout the day.

Three in Hospital after Overnight Shooting in Newtonville

The third suspect in a Newtonville shooting from June 2022 has been located and taken into custody.

On Sunday, June 19, 2022, at approximately 1:45 a.m., members from East Division were dispatched to an armed person call in the area of Newtonville Road and Concession Road 4.  Two males were located suffering from gunshot wounds and taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. An additional male attended a local hospital suffering from stab wounds, and was transported to a Toronto trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators from the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) conducted an extensive investigation and identified three suspects.  On Thursday, March 23, 2023, members of the East Division CIB arrested Trenton BIGNELL and Auston DAY.  The third suspect remained outstanding.

On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the third suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.

Stephen Nathaniel FALCONER, age 22 of No Fixed Address is charged with: Aggravated Assault x2, Assault with a Weapon x3, Assault, and Discharge Firearm with Intent.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Shooting Outside London Hospital – Suspect(s) At Large

UPDATE # 2 – LONDON, ON (December 14, 2024) – The investigation into an overnight shooting outside a London hospital continues. 

Investigators have learned that the initial altercation in the area of White Oaks and Southdale roads involved possible gunfire and believe that the victim drove himself to the hospital, followed by the suspect vehicle. The victim was believed to be targeted, and at no time did anyone from the suspect vehicle enter the hospital. 

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries aside from the adult male victim. 

The victim has been released from hospital. 

Investigators are reminding members of the public who may have dash-cam footage or video surveillance in the areas of White Oaks and Southdale roads or Commissioners Road East and Wellington Road between 2:10 – 2:35 a.m., or information that can assist with the investigation, to contact police.

UPDATE # 1 – LONDON, ON (December 14, 2024) – Members of the London Police Service Major Crime Section are investigating a shooting that took place overnight. 

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., police responded to a reported shooting in the area of Commissioners Road East and Wellington Road. 

Upon arrival, officers located a pickup truck that had struck a cement pillar outside of the emergency room entrance to the hospital. Police located evidence that a gun had been fired multiple times. The vehicle, and the outside of the building, had been struck by bullets. 

An adult male victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital. 

Investigators do not believe this was a random incident. 

Through the course of the investigation, officers learned that there was an earlier altercation between the victim and suspect in the area of White Oaks and Southdale roads. 

The suspect vehicle is described as a 4-door silver or grey sedan, possibly a Hyundai Sonata. 

Investigators are asking anyone who may have dash-cam footage or video surveillance in the areas of White Oaks and Southdale roads or Commissioners Road East and Wellington Road between 2:10 – 2:35 a.m., or information that can assist with the investigation, to contact police. 

The investigation is in its early stages, and more information will be released as appropriate.

Another Shooting In Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two males in connection to an ongoing shooting investigation in Kitchener.

On March 5, 2024, at approximately 9:40 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Wilson Avenue and Kingsway Drive. 

Through investigation, a vehicle located at the scene was determined to be involved in the shooting incident and was seized by police.

On March 7, 2024, members of WRPS’ General Investigations Unit (GIU) completed a search warrant on the vehicle and seized a loaded firearm and ammunition. Investigators also seized suspected cocaine and oxycodone. As a result of the investigation, two male occupants of the vehicle were identified.

On March 28, 2024, a 27-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with the following: 

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
  • Tampering with serial number
  • Careless use of firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of suspected cocaine
  • Possession of suspected oxycodone
  • Possession contrary to order
  • Fail to comply with probation order

On April 2, 2024, a 24-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
  • Tampering with serial number
  • Careless use of firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of suspected cocaine
  • Possession of suspected oxycodone

Both males were held in police custody for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual pictured below in connection to the shooting.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’8”, with a thin build. The male was wearing a black jacket, black and white pants, and black shoes.

London Police Shoot & Taser Teen #FilmThePolice #FTP

LONDON, ON (March 28, 2024) – The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating after a 17-year-old male was arrested yesterday.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the London Police Service responded to an assault investigation in the west end of the city.

Officers located the 17-year-old male suspect outside of the residence with a weapon. Members of the LPS Emergency Response Unit were called to assist.

An interaction between officers and the male occurred which resulted in the use of a Blunt Impact Projectile (less-lethal firearm). The male continued to resist arrest and officers deployed a conducted energy weapon (CEW) and took the youth into custody.

Officers transported the male to hospital as a precaution. He has since been released from hospital and remains in custody.

The Special Investigations Unit has been notified and invoked their mandate.
