Murder: Albert KEESICK SR vs. JR

(KENORA, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged with second degree murder in relation to a death investigation in Kenora.  

On March 13, 2025, members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for service at a residence on Heenan Place and located one individual in medical distress. The individual was subsequently pronounced deceased.

The deceased has been identified as Albert KEESICK JR., 46 years old of Kenora. A postmortem examination will be conducted at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services in Toronto.

As a result of the investigation, Albert KEESICK SR., 72 years old of Kenora, has been arrested and charged with second degree murder contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on March 17, 2025.

The investigation is continuing by the OPP North West Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

There is no threat to public safety. Members of the public can expect to see a large police presence in the area as a result of the investigation.

Fatal Collision

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Tillsonburg.

At approximately 12:22 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, officers from the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Oxford County Paramedic Services and the Oxford County Fire Department, responded to a collision between a sedan and a train on Bayham Drive in Tillsonburg, Oxford County.

As a result, the 56-year-old driver of the sedan, a resident of London, Ontario, was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

Bayham Drive, between Highway 3 and Pressey Road, is expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was travelling on Bayham Drive and witnessed the collision, or who has any relevant information, to contact Oxford County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

MARSHALL Was Arrested

(HUDSON TOWNSHIP, ON) – A single motor vehicle in the ditch in Hudson Township leads to one person being charged with impaired.

On March 5, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 65 West in Hudson Township.

The OPP located the vehicle and the driver at the scene. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to detachment for further testing.

Sterling MARSHALL, 27 years-of-age of New Liskeard, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80plus)

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on March 5, 2025.

911 Caller Arrested After Assaulting Police

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place in the Municipality of South Huron on Saturday March 8th, 2025.   

At 10:00 a.m., police were contacted to investigate a series of 911 calls made to police by an individual who was misusing the emergency phone line. Police attended and spoke to the individual who was arrested shortly after for the offence of Public Mischief. During their arrest, the accused resisted arrest and subsequently assaulted three OPP officers.

Rita STEWART, 44 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Public Mischief,

–      Assault a Peace Officer – (three counts),

–      Resist Peace Officer.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich where they were later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 7th, 2025.

$16,000 Drug Bust

(GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATION, ON)- The North East Region Community Street Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with assistance from the Anishinabek Police Service, the Batchewana First Nation Police Service, the OPP’s North East Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Team and the Sault Ste Marie Police Service executed a drug warrant at a residence in the community of Garden River First Nation.

On March 12, 2025, at approximately 12:45 p.m., police executed a drug warrant at a residence on Megezee Street. During the search, officers seized the following suspected drugs: cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, that have an estimated street value exceeding $16,000. Additionally, a digital scale, cell phone, and packaging materials were also recovered.

Nelson SOLOMON, 31 years-of-age from Garden River First Nation was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid (other than heroin)
  • Failure to comply with release order-other than to attend court

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Sault Ste Marie on March 13, 2025, and was remanded into custody.

Monica MANTOVAN, 44 years-of-age from Garden River First Nation was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid (other than heroin)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie on March 31, 2025.

Arrest In South Huron – Details Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Lambton Shores resident with criminal driving offences following a collision on March 4th, 2025, in the Municipality of South Huron. 

Just before 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers received a report of a collision involving a pickup truck on its side on Airport Line in South Huron. Police spoke to the driver and determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Scott MacGregor, 63 years of age from Lambton Shores has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 31, 2025.

Perth Drug Bust – Details Released

(PERTH, ON) – An investigation lasting several months has resulted in a significant drug seizure and drug trafficking charges against a Perth resident.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by members of the Lanark County Detachment and the Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Rogers Road in Perth on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Officers seized approximately 13-grams of suspected crack cocaine, nearly 113-grams of suspected cocaine, over 13-grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, more than 40-oxycodone pills, over 500-trazadone pills, several alprazolam tablets and more than a dozen hydromorphone pills. They also seized a firearm and ammunition, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.

 Kevin SINCENNES, age 45 of Perth, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of a schedule 4 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order – two counts
  • Fail to comply with a release order – two counts

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Darren ROBSON – Theft

(DOURO-DUMMER, ON) – The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest in relation to alleged misappropriation of funds at a not-for-profit sporting facility.

In February of 2023, the Peterborough County OPP received a call in relation to a possible fraud that had been occurring over an extended period of time at a local not-for-profit sporting establishment in Douro-Dummer Township. Information had been provided with allegations of money collected by the organization from various events, not being able to be accounted for.

After two years, the continued investigation has led to the arrest of one individual.

Darren ROBSON (age 49) of Peterborough, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Theft over $5,000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on April 1, 2025.

83 Year Old Victim Of Homicide

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – A recent sudden death in the Municipality of Leamington is now being investigated as a homicide.

On March 12, 2025, at approximately 2:36 p.m., members of the Essex County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services responded to a well-being check at a residence on Sherk Street, where one person was found deceased.

The deceased has been identified as Anita GOODINGS, 83 years old of Leamington.

A postmortem was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and determined the death was a result of a homicide.

Police have a limited description of a person of interest in connection with this investigation. They are described as a white male with a muscular build. Anyone with any information is urged to contact police.

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident. Members of the community can expect to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.

The investigation is being conducted by the Essex County OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services and the OPP Emergency Response Team, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Erin PRENTICE Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A traffic stop in Delhi led to a prohibited driver being charged.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, an officer from the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop and investigation on Talbot Road in Delhi, Norfolk County.

The investigation revealed that the driver was prohibited from operating a vehicle. They were subsequently taken into custody without incident.

54-year-old Erin PRENTICE from Hamilton, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

One From Central Huron Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On March 13, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along James Street West, Municipality of South Bruce.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Korbin KNIGHTS, 34-years-old, of Central Huron, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on May 7, 2025 to answer to the charge.

2 Deceased Following Fire

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – A residential fire in Quinte West has left two people deceased.

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, shortly before 6:00 p.m., Quinte West Firefighters, Hastings Quinte Paramedics and the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the fire at a trailer park on Highway 2, just east of CFB Trenton.

When emergency services arrived, they found a residential trailer engulfed in flames.

One adult and two children, aged seven and nine, were able to escape. Tragically, a one-year-old child and a 66-year-old woman died in the fire.

A 64-year-old male was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries, while the two children were transported to a children’s hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation by the Quinte West OPP Crime Unit, the Office of the Fire Marshal and Office of the Chief Coroner is continuing.

22 Year Old Arrested Following Collision – Details Released

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Bruce resident with several criminal driving offences following a collision south of Bayfield, in the Municipality of Bluewater on March 6th, 2025. 

At 1:25 a.m. on Thursday, March 06, 2025, Huron County OPP officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Bluewater Highway near Blue Bluff’s Road in Bluewater. Police spoke to the driver and discovered that they had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Zackery BUMBA, 22 years of age from South Bruce has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – alcohol and drug,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

–      Dangerous Operation.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 07, 2025.

Vehicle Used In Goderich YMCA Smash & Grab

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual from Huron County following a break and enter to the Goderich Y.M.C.A. on March 10th, 2025.

At 12:20 a.m. on March 10th, 2025, an individual used a small car to ram the front doors of the YMCA building located on Suncoast Drive East in Goderich. The driver made repeated attempts and eventually broke the doors open to gain entry to the building. Once inside, the suspect attempted to enter several areas of the facility then departed in the same vehicle. The suspect was identified by police and was arrested later that same morning.

The accused has been charged as follows:

Philip REED, 59 years of age from No Fixed Address has been charged with:

–      Break and Enter,

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Dangerous Operation,

–      Fail to Stop After Accident.

The accused was processed and later released with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 14th, 2025.

3 Dead In Collision

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP, ON) – A head-on collision east of Cornwall has left three people deceased.

It happened on Thursday, March 13, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m. Officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Detachment (SD&G) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), local RCMP officers and other first responders were called to the collision on County Road 2, near McGibbon Road

The initial investigation has determined that an eastbound vehicle had crossed into the westbound lane of the roadway, forcing at least two drivers to take evasive action. Moments later a head-on collision was reported, with one of the vehicles catching fire.

The lone occupant of the eastbound car, and the driver and one passenger in the westbound vehicle, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Another passenger from the westbound vehicle was transported to a regional trauma centre by Air Ornge. Their injuries were considered serious.

The decease have been identified as a 16-year-old female from Champlain Township, a 65-year-old female from Cornwall and a 44-year-old male from Ottawa. The injured male is a 16-year-old from Cornwall.

OPP Collision Reconstructionists and Technical Collision Investigation Team members have completed the on-scene investigation and County Road 2 has been reopened.
