31 Year Old From Central Huron Arrested #WaitInTheTruck

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On April 12th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Central Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner in 2024 and 2025.

A 31-year-old individual from Central Huron has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal,

–      Mischief – Domestic,

–      Fail to Comply with Undertaking – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

31 Year Old From Huron-Kinloss Arrested

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) – On April 19, 2025, at approximately 10:13 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a motor vehicle collision along Ripley Street, Township of Huron-Kinloss.

On arrival, officers observed that a pick-up truck had struck a parked passenger vehicle. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Donald MCGILL, 31-years-old, of the Township of Huron-Kinloss was charged with:

  • Impaired Operation (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Dangerous Operation, CC 320.13(1)

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice on May 21, 2025.

Repeat Offender Arrested In Kincardine – Assault With Weapon, Etc. #3Strikes

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On April 17, 2025, at approximately 5:56 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a patron refusing to leave a licensed establishment along Queen Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

Officers attended and took the individual into custody without incident. Further investigation led to a series of criminal charges.

Robert THOMPSON, 54-years-old, of the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon, CC 267(a)
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order, CC 733.1(1)
  • Breach of Recognizance, CC 811
  • Fail to leave premises when directed, TPA 2(1)(b)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Violent Repeat Offender Arrested Again – William (Willy) Scharf #3Strikes

(LANARK HIGHLANDS TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following the execution of an arrest warrant for a person who had been the subject of a social media release.

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, Lanark County OPP officers along with the OPP Tactical Response Team (TRU), OPP Canine Units, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad (ROPE) and Lanark County Crime Unit, located and arrested a wanted person at a residence in Lanark Highlands Township.

The accused was the subject of a warrant from an incident on Friday, April 11, 2025, in Drummond-North Elmsley Township where a firearm was discharged at a residence.

William (Willy) Scharf, 51-years-old from North Grenville Township, has been charged with:

·        Assault with a weapon – two counts

·        Assault causing bodily harm

·        Assault

·        Uttering threats – two counts

·        Mischief under $5000 – two counts

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts

·        Pointing a firearm – two counts

·        Discharge a prohibited firearm

·        Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm

·        Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm

·        Fail to comply with Prohibition order

·        Driving under Suspension

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 25, 2025.

ALERT: Sexual Assault In South Huron – Suspect At Large

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking assistance from the public in relation to a sexual assault that occurred in the Municipality of South Huron.

On April 25, 2025, the OPP launched an investigation after receiving information of a sexual assault that occurred on the McNaughton-Morrison Trail near the town of Exeter between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

This investigation remains ongoing. One From South Huron Arrested – Details Released

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with criminal driving offences following a traffic complaint in the Municipality of Bluewater on April 6th, 2025. 

Just after 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 06, 2025, Huron County OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in Bluewater. Officers located the suspect vehicle and driver. Police spoke to the driver and discovered that they had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over three times the legal limit.

Marcel WOERTINK, 59 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – alcohol and drug,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for 7 days, and the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on May 26, 2025.

$1.8 Million Fraud Investigation – Kevin DOUSE Arrested

(CITY OF ORILLIA, ON)- Members of the OPP Orillia Major Crime Unit, have arrested a local financial advisor from Orillia, Ontario. The individual is charged with Defraud the Public and eleven counts of Uttering a Forged Document contrary to the Criminal Code.

The 16 -month investigation concluded with the arrest of Kevin DOUSE. 40-year-old of the Township of Severn on April 24, 2025. 

He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 10, 2025, in Orillia, Ontario to answer to these charges. The total sum of the misallocated funds suspected to be over $1.8 million.

It is alleged the local registered financial advisor, defrauded some of his clients by requesting his clients provide the intended investment funds by way of cheque made payable to himself personally instead of making the cheque directly payable to the investment company. Moreover, in certain instances, it is alleged the accused falsified and forged investment and insurance paperwork to hide the misallocation of his victims’ funds. There are also further alleged fraudulent acts by DOUSE on members of the public while he was working as a financial advisor.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Rogan of the Orillia Crime Unit said, “It is essential to confirm that your investment funds are being directed into the products you intended. This means regularly reviewing your investment statements-whether by mail or through your secure online investment portal-and by keeping track of all transactions.” 

In many cases, particularly with vulnerable individuals, fraud can go undetected. “The OPP advises that a trusted family member or person regularly reviews these online accounts, especially for those who may not be tech-savvy, and always ensure you receive detailed documentation, receipts, and clear records for every investment decision.”

Murder – Repeat Offender Arrested #3Strikes #SeenThePatternYet? #Enough?

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual in relation to a sudden death investigation in Simcoe.

On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at approximately 2:55 p.m., officers were dispatched for a well-being check at a residence on Norfolk Street. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased individual.

As a result of the investigation, one person has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      Second degree murder, section 235(1)

·      Fail to comply with probation order, section 733.1(1) – two counts

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe today and remains in custody.

The names of the victim and accused are being withheld under provisions of a court-ordered publication ban.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and do not believe there is a threat to public safety.

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, continues this ongoing investigation.

Repeat Offender Sends One To Hospital With Serious Injuries #3Strikes

(CENTRE HASTINGS TWP., ON) – An individual, wanted in connection with a serious assault in Centre Hastings, has been arrested and taken into custody.

On Monday, April 14, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., officers with the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault on Wellington Street.

When they arrived at the scene, officers located a seriously injured male who was transported to hospital by Hastings-Quinte Paramedics.

On Friday, April 25, 2025, members of the OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad arrested the wanted male without incident at a residence in Tweed.

Samuel KOCH, age 44 of Centre Hastings, is charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Uttering threats to cause death of bodily harm – two counts
  • Theft
  • Failing to comply with a probation order

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Monday, April 28, 2025.

58 Year Old From Arthur Arrested – Details Released

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On April 24, 2025, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an Arthur resident in relation to an assault investigation.

On April 24, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to an address in Arthur to report of a disturbance.

As a result of the investigation, Sean Patrick STROUD 58-years-old of Arthur is charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with Assault and Utter Threats-cause death or bodily harm.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph on May 30, 2025.

Simon SLAVISH-FISHER Was Arrested

(HALIBURTON COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver of a motor vehicle with an impaired operation related offence as the result of a traffic complaint.

On April 24, 2025, at approximately 9:23 p.m., Haliburton Highlands OPP were on general patrol in the Village of Haliburton when officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. After speaking with the driver, the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, Simon SLAVISH-FISHER, a 38-year-old of Haliburton has been charged with:

·       Operation while impaired – blood concentration (80 plus)

And further with the following Provincial Offence:

.       Drive without proper rear light

In addition to the charges, the accused was issued a 90-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden at a future date.

Fourth Scuba Diver Found Deceased

(SOUTH STORMONT TOWNSHIP, ON) – A scuba diver that went missing in the water off the Long Sault Parkway has been located deceased. 

On April 23, 2025, at about 7:45 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) OPP officers and South Stormont Fire Services responded to Loch 21, Long Sault Parkway for a missing diver. Four divers entered the water but only three resurfaced.

Additional resources were deployed to assist with the search efforts, including Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service, Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.

On April 24, 2024, around 11:30 a.m., SD&G OPP, assisted by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU), located and recovered the body of the missing diver. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Stolen Property Recovered – 2 Arrested #3Strikes

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – Middlesex County OPP members have recovered a utility trailer and two riding lawnmowers in Adelaide Metcalfe.

On April 23, 2025, at 10:02 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a storage facility at 28607 Centre Road in Adelaide Metcalfe for the report of a utility trailer and two zero turn riding mowers that had previously been reported as stolen out of London.

As police entered the facility, the suspect vehicle was attempting to exit, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

Two individuals were arrested and taken into custody.

As a result, Ernest REID, a 39-year-old of London has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada (three counts)
  • Possession Break In Instruments
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Driving while under suspension (three counts)

As a result, Cody NEEPIN, a 38-year-old of London has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada (three counts)
  • Possession Break In Instruments
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)
  • Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

The accused were both held for bail.

Robert EDIGHOFFER – Impaired Operation

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On April 18, 2025, at approximately 11:01 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Grey Bruce OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) along Bruce Road 10, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Brian CALLADINE – Trafficking Fentanyl

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – One individual has been arrested after a drug investigation by the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) in the Quinte West area. 

On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region CSCU, assisted by Quinte West OPP officers, stopped an individual, after conducting an investigation regarding about drug trafficking in Trenton.

As a result of the investigation, one person was arrested. Officers seized approximately one ounce of Fentanyl, Canadian currency and other items associated with drug trafficking.

Brian CALLADINE, age 47 from Quinte West, has been charged with: 

  • Possession of the purpose of trafficking- Fentanyl
  • Traffic in schedule I substance – Fentanyl
  • Proceeds of crime

The accused remains in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, on a later date.
