Child Sexually Assaulted – Christopher CHUMKO Arrested #WaitInTheTruck

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON)- The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recently laid charges in relation to a sexual assault investigation.

On July 9, 2025, Essex County OPP began an investigation into a report of a sexual assault.

As a result of the investigation by the Essex County OPP Crime Unit, on July 10, 2025, Christopher CHUMKO, 46 years old of Amherstburg was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·        Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 years of age

·        Sexual Interference

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

More Impaired Drivers – BANVILLE, WATSON & STYLES

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in 3 more impaired driving investigations.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program on Loyalist Parkway, where an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized, resulting in the arrest of a novice driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Hannah BANVILLE, age 23, from Carrying Place, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice Driver – B.A.C above zero

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a traffic stop on the 401 led to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired as well as other offences. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Giovanni WATSON, age 28, from Bowmanville was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Speeding 1-49 Km/h over posted speed limit.
  • Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt.
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Officers with the Quinte West OPP, investigated a collision leading to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol.

With the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Unit and OPP Canine Unit, the driver was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing, resulting in charges being laid.

Becky STYLES, age 54, from Carrying Place, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Fail to report accident

All the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 31, 2025. Additionally, the vehicles they were operating were impounded for seven days, and their licences suspended for 90 days.

Christopher POLCZ – Drunk Driving

(GEORGIAN BAY TOWNSHIP, ON)- An officer conducting speed enforcement on Highway 400 entered into an impaired driving investigation early this morning after stopping a vehicle for a speeding offence on Highway 400.

At approximately 7:34 a.m. July 10, 2025, an officer of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped the south bound Highway 400 vehicle in Georgian Bay Township and upon speaking with the driver and quickly entered into a driving investigation which was continued at the Detachment.

Upon completion of the investigation, 36 year old Barrie resident Christopher POLCZ has been charged with the following criminal driving offences of –

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

And further with the following Provincial Offence

  • Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on July 24, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Another Pedestrian Airlifted Following Collision

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on scene investigating a serious motor vehicle collision in Wiarton.

On July 10, 2025, at approximately 10:35 a.m., police received a report of a collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Berford Street and Frank Street in Wiarton. The involved pedestrian has been transported to a London area trauma centre by Ornge Air Ambulance.

The intersection of Berford Street and Frank Street is closed for the investigation. The closure will remain in effect for several hours. Updates to follow when available.

Charity Box Stolen – Christopher LANG Arrested Again! #HowLowCanUGo

ESSA, ON) – Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual in connection to a charity box theft in Essa Township.

On July 9, 2025, shortly after 9:00a.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a theft incident at a local business on Mill Street in Essa Township. Video footage obtained determined that the male suspect entered the store the night before, stealing a charity box before fleeing the store.

Officers were able to identify the suspect with the assistance from the public and as a result of investigation,

Christopher LANG 28-years-old of Essa was charged with the following:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Chase Involving Long Gun – 3 Arrested

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Three people have been arrested and charged with multiple criminal offences after police received a call of a person chasing someone with a long gun in a residential area of the City of Pembroke.

On July 9, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons call in the area of Victoria Street in Pembroke.

Police engaged in a short foot pursuit which resulted in the arrest of three people. During the incident a firearm, and ammunition were located and seized, along with suspected methamphetamine, ecstasy, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, 38-year-old Nigel REIS has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offences:

·        Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·        Possession of a loaded, prohibited, or restricted firearm

·        Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition

·        Careless use of firearm

·        Carry concealed weapon.

·        Unauthorized possession of a firearm

·        Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

·        Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order – two counts

·        Utter threats to cause death or bodily harm

·        Possession of a schedule lll substance and,

·        Fail to comply with probation order – two counts.

As a result of the investigation, 38-year-old Corey POPKIE has been charged with the following CC and CDSA offences:

·        Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

·        Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition and,

·        Possession of schedule l substance – four counts.

As a result of the investigation, 29-year-old Bejamin Dalton LECLAIRE has been charged with the following CC and CDSA offences:

·        Failure to comply with release conditions – two counts, and,

·        Possession of a schedule l substance.

Police also seized a motor vehicle, bicycle and other items reported in earlier thefts and are continuing to investigate. There were no reported injuries in this incident.

All accused remain in custody pending a bail court hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Pembroke on July 10, 2025.

Robert LEMIEUX Was Arrested

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after single vehicle collision.

On July 8, 2025, at 7:17 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex London Paramedic Service and local Fire were dispatched to a Melbourne Road in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, for a single vehicle rollover.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Robert LEMIEUX, a 61-year-old of Melbourne, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 17, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

There were no injuries reported.

Nicholas SKIPPON – Dangerous Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic stop on Highway 401.

On July 8, 2025, at 5:10 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at Dorchester Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Nicholas SKIPPON, a 26-year-old of Burlington, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 28, 2025.

David VIOLETTE Was Arrested

(THESSALON, ON)- Traffic complaint leads to impaired charge.

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving a red car travelling eastbound on Highway 17 within the Town of Thessalon. The vehicle was reported to be weaving in and out of traffic.

While stopped in a construction zone, the driver of the red car was observed waving a baseball bat out of the window and smoking from a pipe. Police located the vehicle near Melwel Road and conducted a traffic stop.

Upon speaking with the driver, officers determined that the individual was impaired by an intoxicating substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the Blind River Detachment for further testing.

David VIOLETTE, 55 years old from Campbell River, BC was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drug
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on September 4, 2025. The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.

The OPP remains committed to ensuring our roads are safe from drug-impaired and alcohol-impaired drivers. Drivers who are impaired by drugs or alcohol continue to pose a significant threat on Ontario roads.

Joshua MCKINNON Arrested Following Collision

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – Single vehicle collision into hydro pole leads to multiple charges.

On July 6, 2025, at 3:56 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Main Street in Lucan, Lucan Biddulph.

Early investigation revealed a pickup truck, towing a trailer, left the roadway and struck a hydro pole, at which time two individuals were observed fleeing from the vehicle.

One suspect was located and was placed under arrest. The second suspect was not located.

Further investigation revealed the truck and trailer to be stolen. A snowmobile and an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) within the trailer were also found to be stolen.

As a result, Joshua MCKINNON, a 43-year-old of Woodstock, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

·      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada (four counts)

·      Poss of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

The accused was held for bail.

The investigation is continuing.

Howick Assault – 42 Year Old Arrested #WaitInTheTruck

(HOWICK, ON) – On June 28th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Township of Howick.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner.

A 42-year-old individual from North Perth has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal,

–      Assault,

–      Assault with a Weapon – Spousal,

–      Mischief – Domestic – (two counts).

The accused was processed, and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on August 18th, 2025.

ACW Break & Enter – Trevor STRUTH Arrested Again #3Strikes

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a break and enter to a shed at a rural property on June 28th, 2025.

At 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, OPP were contacted about an individual that was discovered unlawfully in a shed by a property owner on MTO Road in ACW Twp. Officers arrived on scene and arrested the individual who was identified and charged with several criminal offences.

The accused has been charged as follows:

Trevor STRUTH, 48 years of age from No Fixed Address has been charged with:

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order – (three counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing, where they were remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Goderich Theft – Ashley HUDSON Arrested Again #3Strikes

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich-area resident following a theft from a retail store in the Town of Goderich on June 28, 2025. 

On Saturday, June 28th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by store staff who reported a minor theft that had occurred that same day. The suspect was captured on video surveillance and police were able to identify the culprit.

Officers located and arrested the suspect soon after. The accused has been charged as follows:

Ashley HUDSON, 34 years-of-age from No Fixed Address has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were later released from custody with a pending court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 21st, 2025.

Bryhton CHESWORTH Arrested Following Collision

(COLEMAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – One driver was arrested after a single vehicle collision on Highway 11.

On Tuesday, July 1,2025 at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 11 in Coleman Township. 

The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. 

As a result of an investigation, the driver, Bryhton CHESWORTH, 28 years-of-age of Englehart, was charged with 

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts
  • Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt 

The vehicle was towed and impounded. 

The accused received a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on Tuesday August 5, 2025.

2 Killed – Nirmal KUMAR Arrested

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On January 27, 2025, at approximately 8:40 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal collision involving a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Grey Road 9 and Southgate Sideroad 71, Township of Southgate. A 49-year-old and a 15-year-old from Kitchener were pronounced deceased, a 19-year-old sustained serious injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the commercial motor vehicle has been arrested and charged with several Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences.

Nirmal KUMAR, 52-years-old, of the City of Brampton has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation causing death, CC 320.13(3) – two counts
  • Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm, CC 320.13(2)
  • Drive commercial motor vehicle with a major defect, HTA 107(11) – three counts
  • Improperly drive commercial motor vehicle with a minor defect, HTA 107(12)
  • Fail to accurately complete daily inspection report, HTA 107(5)
  • Fail to enter defect in daily inspection report, HTA 107(8)(a) – four counts
  • Fail to report defect to operation, HTA 107(8)(b)
  • Drive commercial motor vehicle without required inspection, HTA 107(9)
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit – CMV, HTA 7(1)(a)
  • Window obstructed, HTA 73(1)(a)

The owner of the involved commercial motor vehicle, a 41-year-old resident of Bolton, also faces charges of:

  • Fail to ensure daily inspection is conducted properly, HTA 107(4(b)
  • Fail to ensure daily inspection report is accurately completed, HTA 107(4)(d)

The accused driver is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 10, 2025, to answer to the charges. The accused owner is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 14, 2025, to answer to the charges.
