Alexandra MACKAY – Drunk Driving

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – A Quinte West resident is facing multiple charges after being stopped on Highway 401.

On Monday, July 21, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division’s Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team detected an eastbound car traveling at 177 kilometres per hour.

The vehicle was pulled over and an approved alcohol screening device was utilized. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for further testing.

Alexandra MACKAY, age 31, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Stunt driving – excessive speed

The accused was release from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 14, 2025.

The individual’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the car was impounded for 14 days.

The Highway Safety Division was assisted in the investigation by officers with the Quinte West OPP.

Spike Belt Used To Stop Simon BOUCHER

(BANCROFT, ON) – The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged one person following a short pursuit.

On Friday, July 18, 2025, shortly after 8:00 a.m., Bancroft OPP officers were advised from the Haliburton OPP that there was a stolen vehicle entering the area that they were currently pursuing. A tire deflation device was deployed, bringing the vehicle to a stop.

As a result, Simon BOUCHER, age 23, of Quebec was charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Flight from peach officer
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 21, 2025.

John BOLTON Was Arrested

 (NORWICH, ON) – A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check point in Norwich Township results in charges.

On July 20, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) set up a R.I.D.E. check point on Stover Street in Norwich.

A driver who entered the check point displaying signs of impairment failed a roadside Approved Screening Device (A.S.D.) test.

As a result of the investigation, John BOLTON, a 42-year-old resident of Courtland, has been charged with:

  • Failure to Comply with a Demand
  • Novice Driver Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Drive with a Handheld Communication Device

 The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on August 26, 2025.

Amneet SANDHU Was Arrested

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid Impaired Driving related charges against an individual from Ottawa.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on July 20, OPP members received a call about a vehicle that had crashed on Highway 417 near Innes Rd. Witnesses stated that the driver had been racing another vehicle when he lost control of his car after failing to make the curve at the 174/417 split. The driver, who was transported to hospital with minor injuries, had been consuming alcohol and registered more then twice the legal limit. Officers also located alcohol and cannabis inside the vehicle.

As a result, Amneet SANDHU, 28 years of age, faces the following charges:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Race a Motor Vehicle
  • Driver – Fail to Properly Wear Seatbelt

Sandhu had his drivers licence suspended for 90 days as a result of the impaired charges and also received a 30-day driving suspension for racing a motor vehicle. Sandhu is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.

Shawna BORSATO – Impaired Driving

 (BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM, ON) – A call from the public in relation to a suspicious person led to impaired driving charges.

On July 20, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Washington Road in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim for the report of a suspicious person.

As a result of the investigation, Shawna BORSATO, a 39-year-old resident of Cambridge, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on September 9, 2025.

Tracey HUDLIN – Aggravated Assault

(RUSSELL TWP, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged after an assault in in Russell Township.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, just before 9:30 p.m., officers with the Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident on Ste. Marie Road.

A male had suffered multiple puncture wounds to his neck. He was transported to hospital by Prescott-Russell paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers arrested an individual at the scene and transported them to the detachment.

As a result of the investigation, Tracey HUDLIN, age 55 of Russell Township, has been charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Manfred BREMER – Meth, Etc.

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing impaired and drug-related charges after a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE check at the intersection of Highway 6 and Old Webbwood Road in Espanola. A vehicle came through the RIDE, and an investigation was initiated. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested.

Additionally, police seized an amount of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $150, and an amount of suspected methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $500.

The driver, Manfred BREMER, 58-years-old from Brantford, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on September 22, 2025.

This incident marks the 96th impaired driving arrest by the Manitoulin OPP in 2025 so far. The OPP wants to remind the public that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe while driving. Cooper EARLEY – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic stop on Highway 401.

On July 18, 2025, at 10:52 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Westbound lanes of Highway 401 in the Municipality of Thames Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated on the off-ramp to Veterans Memorial Parkway.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Cooper EARLEY, a 24-year-old of Vineland, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 7, 2025.

Elvis HOWE & Samuel CATRY Arrested Following Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been charged in connection with separate impaired driving collisions.

At approximately 10:09 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Concession 13 Townsend in Simcoe. No injuries were reported.

After conducting a roadside sobriety test on the SUV driver, officers took the individual into custody without incident.

As a result, 49-year-old Elvis HOWE of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Careless driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

At approximately 6:49 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, the Norfolk County OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Nixon Road in Simcoe.

Through investigation, it was determined that the pickup was travelling along Nixon Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree. No injuries were reported.

Following an interaction with the driver, officers took the individual into custody without incident.

As a result, 31-year-old Samuel CATRY of Frontenac County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

More Impaired Drivers: BEADLE, ORIET & NOLAN-DUCEDRE

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON)- The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged three drivers over the weekend with impaired driving.

On July 19, 2023, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Members from the Kingsville OPP Detachment responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 3 in the Town of Kingsville. Police arrived on scene and spoke with the vehicle driver, Mark BEADLE, a 23-year-old resident of Leamington who was charged with:

·        Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on July 28, 2025, to answer to the charges.

On July 19, 2025, at approximately 10:00 pm., members from the Lakeshore OPP Detachment received a report of a possible impaired driver, and officer on patrol located the vehicle on County 22 in the Municipality of Lakeshore. The officer spoke with the vehicle driver, Jeremy ORIET a 25-year-old resident of Lakeshore who was charged with:

·        Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Dangerous operation

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on July 31, 2025, to answer to the charges.

On July 21, 2025, shortly after 3:30 a.m., a member form the Essex OPP Detachment was on patrol when they observed a motor vehicle in ditch on North Malden Road in the Town of Essex. Police spoke with the vehicle driver, Aven NOLAN-DUCEDRE, a 24-year-old resident of Essex who was charged with:

·        Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on August 7, 2025.

All of the accused in these matters were issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Darren HAMDEN Was Arrested Again

(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – Elgin OPP investigating a collision that sent on-duty officer to hospital with serious injuries.

On July 20, 2025, at 10:45 a.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety division (HSD), observed a suspicious vehicle travelling on Highway 3 in Elgin County, at which time a traffic stop was initiated. 

During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene, striking the officer.

As a result, members of the Elgin County OPP and Medavie-Elgin EMS were dispatched to the scene to assist.

The officer was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway 3 was closed between Centennial Avenue and First Avenue as a result.

The driver of the suspect vehicle was later located by members of the Elgin OPP and taken into custody.

As a result, Darren HAMDEN a 40-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest
  • Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice (Identity fraud)
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (two counts)

The accused was held for bail.

Marilyn RULE Was Arrested After Incident With Horse

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person has been arrested following a traffic complaint involving a vehicle and a horseback rider.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle being driven dangerously around a horseback rider in the area of Sugar Lake Road in Walford. The complainant reported that the driver was also yelling and honking the horn at the horseback rider. The same driver then directed the dangerous driving behavior toward another vehicle that was attempting to assist. Police arrived shortly after and located the driver. Following an investigation, the driver was arrested.

As a result, Marilyn RULE, 59-years-old from the Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, was charged with operation while impaired.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on September 22, 2025.

Richard WIEBE Was Arrested

(BRANT, ON) – On July 17, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Brant County OPP responded to a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 403 westbound near Brantford.

The vehicle failed to stop for police and was later safely stopped near Highway 403 and Highway 401 with the assistance of Oxford County OPP.

As a result, 42-year-old Richard WIEBE of Scarborough has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Flight from Peace Officer

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date.

Human Trafficking – Jarett PHILLIPS Charged

(ORILLIA, ON) – A Windsor resident has been arrested and charged following a human trafficking investigation.

In May 2025, police received information about a victim being trafficked through online advertisements. Under the Provincial Human Trafficking Intelligence-led Joint Forces Strategy (IJFS), the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Anti-Human Trafficking Unit began an investigation and identified an additional victim.

As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday July 16, 2025, IJFS members from the OPP, and members of the London Police Service’s Tactical Support Services, Hamilton Police Service, Kingston Police, Ottawa Police Service, Peel Regional Police, and Toronto Police Service arrested and charged Jarett PHILLIPS, 30 years old of Windsor, with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      Communicate with anyone for the purpose of obtaining sexual services, section 286.1(1)

·      Procuring (recruit, hold, conceal, or harbour or exercise control, direction or influence), section 286.3(1) – three counts

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on Monday, July 21, 2025.

This case highlights the importance of multi-jurisdictional collaboration in combatting human trafficking. The OPP and its partners remain committed to identifying, investigating and prosecuting those involved in human trafficking while supporting victims and survivors.

GREEN – Ditch Drunk Driving

(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Drummond-North Elmsley Township resident with impaired driving.

Lanark County OPP received a traffic complaint on Saturday, July 18, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m. Officers located a vehicle stuck in the ditch on Moores Rd in Drummond-North Elmsley Township with no one around. A short time later a male approached the scene driving a tractor stating he was the driver of the stuck vehicle. After speaking with the male, the officers arrested the driver and transported the individual to the OPP detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, McDonnell GREEN, 40-years-old, of Drummond-North Elmsley Township, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, September 8, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
