Avard BARKER – Impaired Operation

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On August 1, 2025, at approximately 1:55 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint along Queen Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Avard BARKER, 36-years-old, of the Municipality of Kincardine, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear on September 10, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

Shane CRUICKSHANK Was Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – On August 3, 2025, at approximately 8:04 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Bruce Road 10 outside of Elmwood, Municipality of Brockton.

While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Shane CRUICKSHANK, 39-years-old, of the Municipality of Kincardine, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear on September 10, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

Spencer WRIGHT Facing Numerous Charges #RepeatOffender

(WAWA, ON) – One person is facing criminal charges after an incident involving a firearm.

On July 27, 2025 at approximately 9:37 p.m., the Superior East Ontario Provincial Police was notified of an assault that occurred on Ontario Street in Wawa. Witnesses reported two individuals had engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical, with one individual pointing a firearm at the second individual.

As a result of the investigation, Spencer WRIGHT, 30 years-of-age, of Wawa was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Fail to comply with probation order – four counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing, and remanded into custody.

Conor BROWN – Impaired Driving

(SAUGEEN SHORES, ON) – On August 4, 2025, at approximately 10:14 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspected impaired driver at MacGregor Point Provincial Park.

Police attended and located the vehicle. While speaking with the occupant, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. They were subsequently placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Conor BROWN, 35-years-old, of the City of Toronto, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear on October 1, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

Kenneth THORNTON Was Arrested

(HIGHLANDS EAST TWP., ON) – Officers patrolling Deer Lake, in Highlands East Township, have laid multiple charges against a personal watercraft operator.

Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marine Unit were on patrol when they stopped a personal watercraft to check on required safety equipment. Officers observed open alcohol and issued a demand for the operator to provide a breath sample using an approved alcohol screening device. The operator refused.

Kenneth THORNTON, age 60 of Courtice, was charged with failing or refusing to comply with a demand for a breath sample. He was also charged with having open liquor on a boat, for failing to have proof of competency for a pleasure craft and for not having required safety equipment.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on September 2, 2025. The individual’s drivers’ licence has been suspended for 90 days.

The Bancroft Detachment is committed to the safety of all vessel operators and users, and anyone using the waterways for enjoyment. Officers frequently patrol many bodies of water – small to large – through the marine season using enforcement and education strategies.

Gurdev DHILLON Was Arrested

 (SOUTH-WEST OXFORD,  ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a traffic complaint of a suspected impaired driver in the Township of South-West Oxford.

On August 3, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Plank Line.

As a result of the investigation, Gurdev DHILLON, a 64-year-old resident of Brampton, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Failure to Comply with a Demand
  • Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on September 23, 2025.

Catharine PAVEL – Drunk Driving

 (INGERSOLL, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment took another impaired driver off the road as the result of a R.I.D.E. check in the Town of Ingersoll.

On August 3, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Oxford OPP set up a Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Harris Street in Ingersoll.

As a result, Catharine PAVEL, a 55-year-old resident of Hamilton, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with Unsealed Container of Alcohol

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on September 16, 2025.

Lisa BURGESS – Hit & Run, Drunk Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Orton resident with impaired driving offences following a fail-to-remain collision.

On July 30, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a fail-to-remain motor vehicle collision near County Road 109 and Highway 10 in the Town of Caledon. While en route, officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the Township of East Garafraxa. Upon speaking with the female driver, officers observed signs of impairment and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Lisa BURGESS, a 52-year-old female, from Orton has been charged with:

•      Fail to remain

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

•      Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

•      Obstruct plate

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

Huntsville Weekend Update

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – Officers of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) were active during the long weekend looking for impaired drivers. Two drivers were taken of the roadway as a result of their efforts.

On August 2, 2025 at 10:32 p.m. police were dispatched to a disturbance on Woods Street in Port Sydney Ontario.  When police attended the scene to deal with the incident they determined one of the persons involved had operated a vehicle while impaired. 

As a result of the investigation, police have charged Wesley GIBBS, 36 years old of Port Sydney Ontario with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Take motor vehicle without consent

·      Assault

·      Assault with a weapon

·      Utter threats to cause death or bodily harm

·      Utter threat to cause harm to an animal

The accused was held for a bail hearing is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.

The accused was also issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension.

On August 2, 2025 at 6:30p.m. police were Huntsville O.P.P. officers were conducting traffic control around a serious collision at the intersection of Highway 60 at Highway 35 when they observed a vehicle passing 3 vehicles on the right shoulder. The driver was stopped as it approached the collision scene. The driver was determined to be under the influence of a substance.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged Devin RUSCITTI, 23 years old of Brooklin Ontario with:

·      CC 320.15(1) Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge at a later date.

The accused was also issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING.

These event could have easily been avoided had the drivers planned ahead before consuming alcohol or drugs. Don’t include alcohol or drugs in any plans to drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another option that takes driving out of the picture altogether.

More Drunk Drivers Arrested – ORR & SHIFAW

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people with impaired driving related charges overnight.

On Monday August 4, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members were called after a vehicle was involved in a collision in the drive through of a local business and fled the scene. The vehicle was located, and following an investigation, the driver was arrested.

Justine ORR, a 32-year-old from Loyalist Township, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous Driving
  • Failure to stop after accident

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on August 26, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded.

On Tuesday August 5, 2025, just before 3:00 a.m., L&A County OPP was called by a member of the public regarding a single vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Tyendinaga Township. Police located the involved vehicle and the driver was arrested.

Justin SHIFAW, a 20-year-old from Peterborough, was charged with:

  •  Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous Driving

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on August 26, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded.

Jillian PRICE – Impaired Driving

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic stop in Bancroft.

On Monday, August 4, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers from the Bancroft OPP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 28 South. Officers located the vehicle and, after stopping it on Monck Street in Bancroft, made observations consistent with alcohol impairment and conducted an investigation.

Jillian PRICE, a 42-year-old resident of Bancroft, has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for seven days. PRICE was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on September 2, 2025.

Jessica BURNS – Drunk Driving

(CORBEIL, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025.

One of those individuals was arrested following a single-vehicle collision in Corbeil.

On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the North Bay OPP, East Ferris Fire Department, and District of Nipissing Paramedic Services responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Johnson Road in Corbeil. The driver was extricated from the vehicle, and officers determined the individual had been consuming alcohol. The driver was transported to hospital by ambulance, where further breath testing was completed.

As a result of the investigation, Jessica BURNS, 36 years-of-age from North Bay, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 19, 2025, in North Bay. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Axl BOYD – Assault With Weapon

(MATTAWA, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025.

One of those individuals was arrested following a threats-related incident in Mattawa, where a weapon was reportedly brandished and the accused was later determined to have been driving while under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the North Bay OPP responded to a report of threats on Brydges Street in Mattawa. One individual had reportedly brandished a crossbow, uttered threats, and pointed the weapon in the direction of the victims.

Officers located and arrested the accused, who was determined to have been driving and had consumed an intoxicating substance.

As a result of the investigation, Axl BOYD, 31 years-of-age from Mattawa, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Failure to comply with demand

·        Assault with a weapon

·        Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Kenneth CLARK – Drunk Driving

(CALLANDER, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025.

One of those individuals was arrested after a patrol officer in Callander was alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system to a suspended driver.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at approximately 4:00 a.m., the North Bay OPP was conducting patrol on Highway 94 in Callander when the ALPR system notified the officer of a suspended driver. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was arrested for driving while disqualified. Officers determined the individual had been consuming alcohol and transported them to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Kenneth CLARK, 63 years-of-age from Corbeil, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation while prohibited under the criminal code

·        Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

·        Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired. Driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence and poses a serious risk to public safety.

George EBBS – Drunk Driving

(MATTAWA, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025. One of those individuals was arrested after entering a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program checkpoint in Mattawa.

On Friday, July 25, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the North Bay OPP were conducting a RIDE program on Pine Street in Mattawa. Officers spoke with the driver of a vehicle entering the checkpoint and determined the individual had been consuming an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the Mattawa OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, George EBBS, 61 years-of-age from Mattawa, was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
