Shane RICE Arrested After Driving Alone

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving charges against an individual from Ottawa after stopping them for a traffic violation.

Shortly before 2:00 p.m. on September 5, an officer observed the accused driving alone in the High Occupancy Vehicle Lane (HOV) on Highway 417 eastbound near Moodie Drive. After stopping the vehicle, the officer had reason to believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening device was utilized and the driver was brought back to Ottawa Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Shane RICE, 44 years of age, faces the following charges:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Improper use of high occupancy vehicle lane
  • Disobey sign

Rice received an immediate 90-day driving suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.

David QUACKENBUSH Facing Numerous Charges

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT LAKES, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with multiple charges including impaired.

On Thursday September 4, 2025, at approximately 11:45pm, Peterborough County OPP officers received a call regarding a vehicle that had gone off the road on County Road 36 in the Municipality of Trent Lakes. The caller provided a description of the vehicle and the driver. Officers located the vehicle and upon speaking with the driver, determined them to be under the influence of alcohol. The individual was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for further testing.

David QUACKENBUSH (age 37) of Peterborough, ON., was arrested and charged with;

• Operation while impaired

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

• Take motor vehicle without consent

• Fail to report accident

• Fail to surrender insurance card

• Fail to surrender licence

• Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

• Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused had their driver’s licence further suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on October 14, 2025.

School Bus Narrowly Missed By Drunk Driver – Charity-Jo MURPHY Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving related charges on the first day of school.

On Wednesday September 3, 2025, just after 7:00 a.m., L&A County OPP members were advised of a traffic complaint involving a possible impaired driver that almost struck a school bus on County Road 2 in Tyendinaga Township. A second citizen reported that the vehicle entered the ditch striking a mailbox before continuing eastbound. The vehicle was located by police in Napanee, and the driver was arrested.

Charity-Jo MURPHY, a 48-year-old from Kingston, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Fail to remain

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on September 23, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded.

$100,000 Drug Bust – Names Released

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) – Four people are facing charges after the execution of a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant in Kirkland Lake.

On Thursday September 4, 2025, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS), executed a CDSA search warrant at a residence on Wishman Street.

As a result of the search, officers seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine tablets, lorazepam tablets and clonazepam tablets, with an estimated street value of over $90,000. Police also recovered approximately $11,700 in Canadian currency, along with digital scales, ammunition and cellular phones.

As a result of the investigation, Brandon SCHUKAN, a 31-year-old from Kirkland Lake, has been arrested and charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine – two counts

·      Resist peace officer

·      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada

The accused has been remanded into custody and is schedule to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on September 5, 2025.

Additionally, Julie SCHRAEDER, a 41-year-old from Kirkland Lake, has been arrested and charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine – two counts

·      Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts

The accused has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on September 5, 2025.

Additionally, Kevin COTES-TURPIN, a 40-year-old of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, has been arrested and charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine – two counts

The accused has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on September 5, 2025.

Additionally, Cassandra GIRARD, a 22-year-old of Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez, Quebec, has been arrested and charged with:

Multiple Vehicles Damaged – Dennis WEAVER Arrested

(Orangeville, ON) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a male with impaired operation related offences.

On September 4, 2025, just before 8:00 p.m., officers from Dufferin OPP responded to reports of a vehicle striking multiple parked cars on Century Drive in the Town of Orangeville.

Officers quickly responded and after engaging with the driver, entered into an impaired driving investigation. As a result, the male driver was arrested and transported to the Orangeville Detachment.

Dennis WEAVER, a 34-year-old from Orangeville, has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Careless Driving

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded.

Kevin INNIS Arrested For Theft

(ORANGEVILLE, ON) – As a result of a police investigation, officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male with theft.

On August 29, 2025, members of the Dufferin OPP were called to a business on Centennial Road in the Town of Orangeville. The business owner reported a male pulling up with a trailer and stealing items from his establishment before driving away. Police located the vehicle a short time later.

Kevin INNIS, a 42-year-old from Orangeville has been charged with:

·      Theft Over $5,000

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville, to answer to the charges.

Patrick BARRY Charged

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged driver with multiple offences.  

On September 4, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Highway 108 in the City of Elliot Lake. The purple car had an expired temporary plate and the driver was spoken to.    

Patrick BARRY, 31-years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Operate unsafe vehicle
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence
  • Drive motor vehicle, no permit

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on October 15, 2025.

Michael FLEWELLING – Drunk Driving

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges a local resident with three criminal charges stemming from a traffic complaint.

On September 4, 2025, at approximately 10:45 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting proactive traffic enforcement when a traffic complaint came in, informing officers of a possible impaired driver.

Officers quickly attended the area, located the motor vehicle in question, and performed a traffic stop on Sligo Road West within Mount Forest.

As a result of the investigation, Michael FLEWELLING, a 31-year-old of Wellington North Township is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis in open original packaging

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on September 16, 2025.

Thomas NABROTZKY Arrested After Boat Incident

(Orillia, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated an impaired driving investigation following reports of erratic driving in a parking lot.

On September 4, 2025, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver. A member of the public reported that a dark-coloured pickup truck towing a boat was driving aggressively and backing into other vehicles.

Officers quickly located the vehicle and, after engaging with the driver, entered into an impaired driving investigation. As a result, the male driver was arrested and transported to the Orillia Detachment.

Thomas NABROTZKY, 62 years old, of New Hamburg, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia at a later date in 2025. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Hilary CLOSE Was Arrested

(BECKWITH TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Beckwith Township resident with impaired driving.

Officers investigated a single vehicle collision on Derry Side Road, in Beckwith Township on Friday, September 5, 2025, just after 1:15 a.m. after a crash notification was received.

The officers located the vehicle in a ditch, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Hilary CLOSE, 57-years-old, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on October 20, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days

Daycare Pervert Alert – Daniel MORASH Facing More Charges #SaveOurChildren

(NORTH GRENVILLE ON) – Additional charges have now been laid against an individual arrested in connection with an act of voyeurism at a North Grenville daycare.

On August 20, 2025, Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a recording device had been located at a daycare.

An arrest was made on Friday, August 29, 2025.

As a result of the ongoing investigation by the Grenville OPP Crime Unit, a search warrant was executed, leading to the seizure of hundreds of inappropriate video clips of adults, as well as children.

Daniel MORASH, age 27 of Embrun, has now been charged with:

  • Possession of child pornography
  • Access child pornography
  • Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes in the use of property

These are in addition to the earlier charge of voyeurism.

The accused was released from custody on strict conditions following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on October 3, 2025.

As part of the investigation, officers are working to identify victims seen in the video clips.

Seniors Targeted By Criminals – 130 Charges Laid

(TOWNSHIP OF NEW TECSUMSETH, ON) – An investigation into distraction thefts across Ontario has resulted in two individuals facing a total of 130 charges in relation to the thefts. 

In the spring of 2025, the Ontario Province Police (OPP) Central Region Crime Unit identified a pattern of criminal activity that began in October 2024. The investigation, named Project Final, was led by the Nottawasaga Detachment Major Crime Unit and focused on multiple distraction thefts across Ontario. 

The investigation revealed that the accused employed tactics such as “shoulder surfing” to observe victims entering their PINs at financial institutions. Once the PIN was obtained, the suspects would engage the victim in a verbal or physical distraction, during which the victim’s debit card was covertly swapped with a previously stolen card. This method allowed the suspects to delay detection and use the stolen card to withdraw funds or make purchases, often in the form of gift cards. The average age of victims was approximately 75 years old.

As a result of the investigation, Sasha Popisan Bravo, 24 of Bradford, has been charged with:

• Fraud under $5000 – 24 counts  

• Property obtained by crime under $5000 – 24 counts

• Theft of credit card – 23 counts

• Unauthorized use of credit card – 24 counts

• Conspiracy to commit indictable offence – one count

Co-accused, Dylan Chancafe Bravo, 18 of Bradford, has been charged with:

• Fraud under $5000 – eight counts

• Property obtained by crime under $5000 – nine counts

• Theft of credit card – eight counts

• Unauthorized use of credit card – eight counts

• Conspiracy to commit indictable offence – one count

The accused are believed to be responsible for at least 23 identified occurrences involving distraction-style thefts targeting vulnerable individuals, primarily seniors..

Damien MINTEN Arrested After Firearm & Impaired Driving Incident

(MADAWASKA VALLEY TWP., ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired after a traffic complaint.

On September 3, 2025, just before 6:00 p.m., OPP officers were advised of a vehicle in a local business parking lot with the person behind the wheel who appeared intoxicated. Police located the vehicle and driver. The driver was transported to the detachment for testing.

Damien MINTEN, 20 years old, of Watford was charged with impaired operation as well as careless storage of a firearm.

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on October 6, 2025.

3 More Impaired Drivers Arrested – Names Released

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three impaired drivers in the Town of Huntsville.

On August 20th, 2025, at 7:40 p.m. Huntsville OPP officers responded to the report of a single motor vehicle collision on Etwell Road, in Huntsville. Officers arrested and charged 35-year-old Paul MCDONALD, of Huntsville, ON with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 16th, 2025.

On August 27th, 2025, at 12:26 a.m. Huntsville OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle on Highway 11 Southbound in Huntsville, ON. Police located the motor vehicle and the 35-year-old driver, Dylan WRIGHT, of Huntsville, ON, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 7th, 2025.

On August 29th, 2025, at 7:40 p.m. Huntsville OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding an impaired driver. Police located the motor vehicle at a business on Howland Drive in Huntsville. The driver, 55-year-old Alain MARION of Niagara Falls, ON, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 7, 2025.

There is no excuse for impaired driving. These events could have easily been avoided had the drivers planned ahead before consuming alcohol or drugs. Don’t include alcohol or drugs in any plans to drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another option that does not include driving.  If you suspect impaired driving, please call 911. Police Finally Recover Stolen Trailer – Daniel HAFENBRACK Arrested & Released

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual following the recovery of a stolen camper trailer in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

In May 2025, Grey Bruce OPP received a report regarding a stolen 2022 Cherokee Wolfpup 16′ camper trailer, valued at approximately $30,000. The trailer had been reported missing between September and October 2024.

Following an investigation led by the Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), police located the trailer on a property situated on North Shore Road in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

On September 2, 2025, members of the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region Canine Unit, Grey Bruce CSCU, and Grey Bruce Major Crime Unit (MCU) executed a search warrant at the location. One individual was arrested without incident and the trailer was recovered.

Daniel HAFENBRACK, 49-years-old, of Northern Bruce Peninsula, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 Criminal Code

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 2, 2025.
