Chatsworth Assault – 3 Arrested

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – Three individuals are facing charges following a report of an assault at a residence in the Municipality of Chatsworth.

On May 2, 2024, at 8:57 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault that occurred on John Street in Chatsworth. Officers attended and learned that three suspects left the address in a vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries from the assault. At 9:55 a.m., the suspect vehicle was located, and the three occupants were arrested.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 41-year-old Ryan Desroches of no fixed address:

  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Aggravated assault
  • Imitation firearm – use while committing offence
  • Possession break in instruments
  • Discharge air gun or pistol with intent
  • Break and enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Trafficking schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

Charged with the following alleged offences is 46-year-old Jason Landry of no fixed address:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Discharge air gun or pistol with intent
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Imitation firearm – use while committing offence
  • Possession break in instruments
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Trafficking schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Unauthorized possession of weapon (two counts)
  • Disguise with intent
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (three counts)

Charged with the following alleged offences is 34-year-old Kimberly Rawn of West Grey:

  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Aggravated assault
  • Imitation firearm – use while committing offence
  • Possession break in instruments
  • Discharge air gun or pistol with intent
  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Trafficking schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

The accused parties were held pending a bail hearing.

Mathew HART Arrested Again – Assault

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – One individual has been charged with several offences following an investigation into an assault incident.

At approximately 12:04 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated an assault on Queensway West in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that two individuals engaged in a dispute while in a vehicle, resulting in the victim being physically assaulted and the vehicle sustaining damage. Minor injuries were reported.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 24-year-old Mathew HART of Norfolk County:

·      Assault,

·      Assault with a weapon,

·      Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm,

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order (two counts),

·      Mischief under $5,000.

The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.

Jacob STEWART Arrested Again

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On May 1, 2024, at approximately 11:08 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a vehicle along Clinton Street in Teeswater after having received a driving complaint. The vehicle failed to stop for police; a pursuit was not initiated due to public safety.

Investigation revealed that this vehicle also failed to stop earlier in the evening for a member of the West Region Highway Safety Division (HSD) in Carrick Township. The identity of the driver was confirmed by officers.

On May 2, 2024, at approximately 7:55 a.m., the accused was located and arrested after a short foot pursuit in Teeswater.

Jacob STEWART, 32-years-old, of no fixed address has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while prohibited (two counts)
  • Flight from peace officer (two counts)
  • Fail to comply with probation (two counts)
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Poss. of a schedule I substance
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Operate a motor vehicle – no insurance
  • Operate unsafe vehicle
  • Fail to stop for police

Repeat Offender Joshua BERNICKY Arrested Again – Assaults

(PERTH, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid numerous charges in connection with an assault in downtown Perth.

On April 24, 2024, around 8:00 p.m., officers were called to a parking lot on Gore Street where two people had been shot by a pellet gun, resulting in minor injuries. The culprit then fled the scene.

On May 2, 2024, Lanark County OPP officers and the Lanark OPP crime Unit, supported by the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) executed a warrant at an apartment on Gore Street.

Joshua BERNICKY, age 33 of Perth, was arrested without incident and has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon – two counts
  • Assault causing bodily harm – two counts
  • Assault – two counts
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Personating a Peace Officer
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – two counts

The accused remains in custody following bail hearing and is scheduled to appear again before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 6, 2024.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Two Arrested For Thefts

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) – Two area residents are facing multiple Criminal Code (CC) charges after a series of shoplifting incidents at multiple retail stores on Pembroke Street East and Pembroke Street West in the Township of Laurentian Valley (TLV).

Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated two thefts which occurred on April 11 and May 1, 2024. 

As a result of the investigations, 48-year-old Ian HOPPER of Pembroke, was arrested and charged with the following CC offences:

  • Theft under $5000 – two counts
  • Failure to comply with probation – five counts

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 28, 2024.

UOV OPP officers further investigated thefts at TLV retail stores on April 11, April 15, April 17, and an assault complaint in Pembroke on April 20, 2024. 

As a result of the investigations, 39-year-old Benjamin LUSH of Petawawa was arrested and charged with the following CC offences:

·        Theft under $5000 – four counts

·        Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

·        Assault

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until their next appearance on May 6, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.

Brian ABRAM Was Arrested

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Dispute leads to multiple charges.

On April 30, 2024, at 6:21 p.m., members of the Oneida Nation Police Service and the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Bodkin Road, Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, for the report of a family dispute.

As a result, Brian ABRAM a 34-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm (two counts)
  • Mischief Under $ 5,000
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

The accused was held for bail.

Repeat Offender Arrested In Firearm Incident

(SABLES-SPANISH TOWNSHIPON) – Police arrested and charged two people with weapons and drug related offences after a replica firearm was discharged.

On April 29, 2024, shortly after 10:00 a.m., members from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a firearm being discharged from a motor vehicle towards a residence on Montreal Street, in the Town of Sables-Spanish Rivers.

No injuries were reported.

Police located the motor vehicle and arrested two occupants. A search of the vehicle located an air pistol handgun, cell phones, drug paraphernalia and drugs suspected to be Cocaine and opioids.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, Lawrence TOULOUSE, 37 years-of-age from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory, was charged with:

  • Fail to comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – two counts
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Imitation firearm – use while committing offence
  • Discharge firearm with Intent
  • Reckless discharge of firearm – life or safety
  • Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Pointing a firearm

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 9, 2024, in Sudbury

The passenger, Sandra SORBLEY, 48 years-of-age from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory, was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Imitation firearm – use while committing offence

200 Rounds Seized During Traffic Stop

(South Dundas, ON) – Officers with the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid numerous charges after conducting a traffic stop on Highway 401.

A speeding vehicle was stopped in the early morning hours of April 22, 2024, and upon observing cannabis readily available to the driver, a search was conducted. Approximately 200-rounds of restricted handgun ammunition were found and seized.

32-year-old Joel BENJAMIN of Toronto is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

·      Fail to Comply with Probation Order – two counts

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·      Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking

·      Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.

40-year-old Alrick ENNIS of Windsor is charged with the following Criminal Code Highway Traffic Act offences:

·      Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking

·      Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition

·      Passenger – fail to properly wear seat belt

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.

30-year-old Ashley MARTINEZ-PARSAD is charged with the following Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, Tobacco Tax Act and Cannabis Control Act offences:

·      Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking

·      Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited device or ammunition

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

·      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

Dillan BAKER Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into an incident of impaired driving.

At approximately 5:47 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, officers from Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen regarding a possible impaired driver on Imperial Street in Delhi, Norfolk County.

Shortly after receiving the call, patrolling officers located vehicle on McDowell Road East in Charlotteville, Norfolk County.

After assessing the driver’s sobriety at the roadside, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 30-year-old Dillan BAKER of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand,
  • Dangerous operation,
  • Driving while under suspension,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order.

The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.

Jason AUBERTIN Was Arrested

(WEST NIPISSINGON) – Police arrested and charged one person after responding to a disturbance.

On April 24, 2024, shortly after 7:30 p.m., members of the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance on King Street, West Nipissing.

Police attended the scene and located a conscious person laying down on the street. While assisting the individual, they became assaultive and began uttering threats during the investigation.

As a result of the investigation: Jason AUBERTIN, 36 years-of-age, from West Nipissing was arrested and charged with:

  • Causing a disturbance
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest
  • Disarming a Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 26, 2024, in North Bay.

Matthew FISHER Arrested Again – Assault With Weapon

(BURKS FALLS, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) lay multiple charges after an assault investigation.

On April 21, 2024, members of the Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a report of an assault. The victim reported being assaulted and held against their will prior to reporting the incident to police.   

As a result of the investigation, Matthew FISHER, 35-years-old from Burk’s Falls Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  •   Forcible Confinement
  •  Assault
  •   Assault with a Weapon
  •   Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  •   Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm – 2 counts
  •   Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – 2 counts

Anaiya BAKER Arrested Again

(KENORA, ON) – An investigation led by the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in drug trafficking charges.

On April 24, 2024, just after 3:00 p.m., members of the Kenora OPP CSCU were conducting an investigation in the area of Bernier Drive in the City of Kenora when they observed suspected drug transactions take place.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of suspected illicit substances including fentanyl, methamphetamine, morphine, and dilaudid. Canadian currency and other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

As a result, Anaiya BAKER, 18-years-old, of Kenora has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

·      Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition for Dangerous Purpose

·      Traffick in Schedule I Substance – Opioid

·      Traffick in Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamines

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid – two counts

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·      Failure to Comply with Release Order – two counts

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on April 25, 2024.

Jason RIDE Arrested Again

(MARATHON, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges following a stolen motor vehicle incident in Marathon.

On April 23, 2024, shortly before 8:00 a.m., members of the Marathon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Peninsula Road. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop; however, the driver failed to stop for police. Through further investigation, officers determined that the motor vehicle was stolen.

A short time later, officers successfully stopped the motor vehicle and placed the driver and passenger under arrest.

As a result, Jason RIDE, 50-years-old, of Lombardy, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

·      Flight From Peace Officer

·      Fail to Comply with Probation Order – nine counts

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon at a later date.

Additionally, Torri RIDE, 50-years-old, of Jasper Wolford Township, has been arrested and charged under the CC with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon at a later date.

Pervert Alert: Tamim Shah Arrested Again: Child Pornography

The Toronto Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Section (ICE) is notifying the public of an arrest made in a Child Sexual Abuse Material investigation.

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, as part of an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse materials, members of the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section executed a Criminal Code search warrant in the Thornton Road North and Rossland Road West area, in the city of Oshawa.

It is alleged that:

  • investigators became aware of a suspect luring a child on the internet
  • the suspect used the Snapchat username: Starboy_xx0
  • a Search Warrant was granted
  • an electronic device was seized

Tamim Shah, 24, of Oshawa, has been arrested and charged with:

  1. Luring a Person Under 18 Years of age by Means of Telecommunication
  2. Luring a Person Under 16 Years of age by Means of Telecommunication
  3. Invitation to Sexual Touching
  4. Make Child Pornography
  5. Make Available Sexually Explicit Material to a Person Under 16
  6. Possess Child Pornography
  7. Access Child Pornography
  8. Make Available Child Pornography
  9. Breach of Probation

He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 10 a.m., at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Ave W, in 103.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims.

Travis Sloane Arrested Again – Stolen Vehicle Recovered

(MEAFORD, ON) – On April 22, 2024, at 6:27 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report that a vehicle was stolen from a business on Stewart Street in Meaford.

Officers attended and obtained video footage from a business in the area. The Grey Bruce OPP conducted patrols for the vehicle and located the vehicle driving in Meaford and conducted a traffic stop.

Police have arrested and charged 29-year-old Travis Sloane of Owen Sound with to following offences:

·      Possession property obtained by crime over $5000

·      Possession break in instruments

·      Theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Fail to comply with probation order

The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
