OPP REQUESTING ASSISTANCE LOCATING MISSING ORO-MEDONTE MALE

(Oro-Medonte, On)- Members of the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP Central Region Crime Unit are currently investigating a missing person incident reported at 10:25 AM on June 21, 2014

Officers are requesting assistance locating Paul Steven FENTON, 35 years of Oro-Medonte Twp. He was last observed in Oro-Medonte Twp, Ontario on the evening of June 12th , 2014.

He is described as being a white male, 5’8 tall

OPP INVESTIGATE CRASH ON COUNTY RD 32 NEAR SEELEYS BAY

(Seeleys Bay,ON) On the 20th of June 2014 Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to a crash on County Rd 32 approximately 2 km south of Hwy 15.

The collision occurred when a Toyota car suddenly pulled out of a driveway located on the west side of County Rd 32 into the path of a southbound vehicle.

Leeds County OPP officers attended the scene along with Leeds Grenville Ambulance.

The driver and passenger of the southbound vehicle, a black Acura, were taken by ambulance to Hospital.

The driver of the Toyota car was also transported by ambulance to Hospital.

All with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota, an 82 year old female from Seeley’s Bay area has been charged with Fail to Yield from Private Drive, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

MISSING BOATERS RECOVERED

(HUDSON, ON) – The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) have recovered the bodies of the two missing boaters on Lost Lake.

The deceased have been identified as 30 year old William CHISEL and 19 year old Simon CHISEL, both of Frenchman’s Head.

The investigation into the incident will be continued by the Sioux Lookout OPP and the Northwest Region Crime Unit.

PROPERTY THEFTS

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – The Middlesex OPP are investigating a report of a break and enter to a trailer located on Adelaide Street North in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre.

Sometime between 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 and 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, unknown suspect(s) attended the property on Adelaide Street North. Once on the property, the suspect(s) accessed a locked trailer.

A quantity of commercial power tools and equipment were stolen.

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a report of theft from a vehicle.

Between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on June 15, 2014, unknown suspect(s) broke the passenger side window of a Volkswagen car and stole a cell phone.

At the time, the car was parked on Rebecca Road in Thames Centre, ON.

Break and Enter

On June 16 a victim reported their storage locker was broken into. The storage locker was located at the Kenwood Corporate Centre in Arnprior. Provincial Constable Tamara Dube is investigating.

Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a male after he broke into a home in Renfrew and assaulted an occupant. On Wednesday June 18 at 2:40am OPP officers responded to the residence on Cross Ave. The male suspect had broken into the residence, caused some damage and assaulted two people in the home. He fled prior to police arrival, and after searching the area police obtained an arrest warrant. Mark BARR 33 of Horton Township is wanted for two counts of assault, mischief and breaking and entering. Provincial Constable Kevin Rebertz is leading the investigation.

Police are investigating a break and enter report at a residence on Kerr Line in Whitewater Region. On June 19 at 9:10pm the resident was walking their dog when they reported seeing someone standing at the window inside their home. Evidence was seized from the residence and the investigation is continuing. Provincial Constable Sarah Turcotte is leading the investigation.

Manley LEDUC – Theft

Charges were laid after an employee at Metro in Renfrew reported a male had been stopped for shoplifting. Provincial Constable Joe Roach investigated and charged Manley LEDUC 71 of Renfrew with theft under $5,000. He was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on July 23.

Four bikes were stolen in separate cases in Renfrew during the past week. Friday night someone entered an unlocked shed and stole two Norca bikes, one gray with black grips and the other one had orange grips. Another bike was stolen from outside a residence on Ross St in Renfrew; this one was a black Norco bike. On June 16 at approximately 11pm a white and red Supercycle was stolen from a residence on Lorne St in Renfrew. A bike was also stolen from the truck of a vehicle overnight on June 16. The bike was a Haro BMX black. Bike owners are encouraged to lock their bikes when not in use, and write down the serial number so you can identify it in case it is stolen.

Someone was busy in the past week, once again stealing small items from unlocked vehicles. Stolen property includes purses, wallets, change, sunglasses, and iPod Touch and a Tim Horton’s gift card. Vehicle owners are encouraged to remove valuables from vehicles and keep your vehicle locked when it is not in use.

Pervert Alert – Toran SANLI – Child Porn

During the Thanksgiving Weekend of October 11- October 14, 2013 Officers of the Killaloe OPP were made aware of a voyeurism case that occurred at Lake of Two Rivers Campground, Algonquin Provincial Park.

A media release seeking the assistance of the public was issued on March 4, 2014.

As a result of an extensive investigation by members of the Renfrew County Crime Unit, Killaloe OPP Detachment, Smith Falls Identification Unit and the Ministry of Natural Resources and the assistance of the public, two counts of Voyeurism contrary to section 162(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada were laid against Toran SANLI, 30 years of age of GRIMSBY, Ontario.

On June 20, 2104 as a result of further investigation, Toran SANLI has been charged with Making Child Pornography contrary to Section 163.1(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

MALE ARRESTED AS A RESULT OF COMPLAINT

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On June 19, 2014, just after 4:00 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a complaint of a male who appeared to be slumped over a Harley Davidson motorcycle at the westbound exit ramp of Highway 401 at Queens Line.

Chatham OPP attended and spoke with the driver and determined he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

Subsequent tests indicated that the driver, 52 year old Joseph TAMAI, from London, was over the legal limit.

He will appear in a Chatham court on July 11, 2014, to answer to the charges of Care or Control Over 80 mgs and Fail To Comply With Recognizance (x2).

OPP CHARGE MEMBER WITH THEFTS AND FRAUD

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Professional Standards Bureau (PSB) has laid additional charges on an OPP officer as a result of an on-going investigation that was commenced on April 14, 2014. The alleged offences occurred between June 2012 and March 2014.

Detective Constable Rory THOMPSON, a ten year member of the OPP currently assigned to the Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau -Deployed Field Unit in Thunder Bay was further charged on June 20, 2014 with eight more counts of Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code. Further, OPP have changed his original Fraud Under $5,000 charge to Fraud Over $5,000.

The accused has been suspended with pay as per the requirements of the Police Services Act.

He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on July 11, 2014.

OPP CHARGE PICKLE LAKE WOMAN WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

(PICKLE LAKE, ON) – Officers with the Pickle Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment and North West Region Crime Unit have arrested and charged a female in relation to an incident that occurred on Cat Lake Road.

At approximately 9:35am on June 19, 2014 officers were dispatched to an assault which had occurred at a residence on Cat Lake Road approximately 2 kilometers outside of Pickle Lake. Officers attended and located a male who was treated by Pickle Lake Emergency Medical Services (EMS) on site and was airlifted to further medical treatment in Winnipeg with life threatening injuries.

Officers from the North West Region Crime Unit were mobilized and as a result of their investigation have charged a 29-year-old female from Pickle Lake with Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268(1) of the Criminal Code. The female was held in custody and transported to Sioux Lookout to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 20, 2014.

The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

OPP ARREST MALE FOR RACING AND BEING IMPAIRED BY DRUG

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On June 19, 2014, just after 8:00 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a complaint of a Ford Fusion driving at a high rate of speed on Highway 401 westbound from Elgin County.

A Chatham-Kent OPP officer who was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 observed the westbound vehicle which appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 159 km/hr.

The officer stopped the vehicle on Highway 401, near Orford Road, in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, and spoke with the driver.

Further investigation determined that the driver was impaired by drug.

47 year old William HEWLETT, from Windsor, has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired and Race a Motor Vehicle. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.

He will appear in a Chatham court on July 18, 2014, to answer to the charges.

Suspended Driver charged with Drive While Ability Impaired

(Napanee, ON) – On Wednesday the 18th of June, 2104 at 11:38 pm an officer with the Napanee Ontario Provincial Police was on general patrol in the Dundas St East area.

The officer observed 2000 Honda Civic with a male driver pull into a parking lot. The male driver was not able to produce a valid Ontario drivers licence and was displaying signs of impairment.

62 year old Mindaugas, MISEVICIUS of Greater Napanee is charged with the following criminal offences: Drive While Ability Impaired, Fail to Provide a Breath Sample, Obstruct a Peace Officer, and Resist Peace Officer. He was also charged with Drive under Suspension under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

MISEVICIUS is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Napanee on 29th July 2014.

MAN CHARGED IN HISTORICAL SEXUAL OFFENCES

(East-Hawkesbury, ON) The Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit has been investigating a series of sexual offences that occurred in a campground in East-Hawkesbury by a user of the said campground, over a span of several years, between 1995 and 1998.

Four young victims, male and female, aged between 5 and 12 years old at the time, were sexually assaulted on many occasions.

Investigation in the matter resulted in the arrest of a 58 year old man from Montreal.

The accused, who cannot be named in order to protect the identity of the victims, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following 20 offences:

– Section 171 (a) Householder Permitting Sexual Activity to a Person Under 14 yrs of Age (4 counts)

– Section 152 – Invitation to Sexual Touching under 14 years of age (8 counts)

– Section 271 – Sexual Assault on a Person Under 14 years of age (4 counts)

– Section 151(a) – Sexual Interference with a person under 14 years of age (4 counts)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the L’Orignal Court on August 27th.

OPP INVESTIGATE BOATING INCIDENT ON LOST LAKE

(HUDSON, ON) – The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently searching for two missing boaters on Lost Lake, approximately 20 kilometers west of Sioux Lookout, in the Hamlet of Hudson.

During the afternoon of June 19, 2014, eight residents from the Lac Seul First Nation were travelling between the communities of Hudson and Frenchman’s Head. The group encountered difficult lake conditions due to weather, and the boat capsized. Six of the boaters were able to get themselves to shore, where they were treated by emergency medical services (EMS). One of the boaters was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and was later pronounced deceased. The deceased has been identified as 39 year old Kevin BRISKET of Frenchman’s Head, Ontario.

Members of the Sioux Lookout OPP, along with the Lac Seul Police Service, Sioux Lookout and Hudson Fire Departments, and the North West Emergency Response Team are continuing to search for two outstanding boaters at this time: a 19 year old male and a 30 year old male, both from Frenchman’s Head.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) has also been called in to assist.

The investigation is continuing and further information will be released as it becomes available.

THEFT OF SCAFFOLDING

(TRENT HILLS, ON) – Sometime between June 14 and June 15, 2014 unknown persons stole scaffolding equipment from a construction site at Trent Severn Waterway Lock # 14 in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the theft report on June 16 where unknown persons removed a large quantity of scaffolding from the site, specifically:

8 – 5×5 foot frames
8 – 10 foot angle braces
8 – 10 foot platforms
4 screw jacks
1 wheelbarrow

The scaffolding is painted red and has white painted ends on the tubular braces. They have distinctive stencils and are painted with a business name -“Scaffold Fast” from Ottawa on them. The estimated value of the stolen equipment is $1,910.

OPP are continuing this investigation.
