FEMALE CHARGED AFTER POLICE CALLED

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment arrested and charged a 15 year old female after investigating an incident at a West Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Sunday, June 22, 2014 at approximately 6:24 p.m., police responded to the address after three individuals arrived at the residence.

Investigation determined that once inside the residence a verbal altercation ensued which turned into a physical confrontation.

As a result of police investigation, a 15 year old female was arrested and charged with assault.

She is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.

OPP WARNING RESIDENTS OF DRIVEWAY SEALANT SCAM

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment has received complaints from Norfolk County residents about individuals arriving at their door inquiring about driveway sealing.

On Saturday, June 6, 2014 at approximately 4:57 p.m., the Norfolk County OPP was contacted by a concerned resident after three individuals arrived at their residence attempting to sell driveway sealant.

The home owner was skeptical and asked to see the company’s peddler’s permit which would allow the individuals to go door to door in Norfolk County in order to offer their services however no permit could be produced. All three individual immediately left the area in a white coloured Ford F150 when the documentation could not be provided.

The Norfolk County OPP is warning all residents to be extremely vigilant if anyone arrives at your residence offering services that you did not request. Be prepared to ask for the peddler’s permits and identification that identifies the person and the company offering the services.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a theft from an Oakwood Avenue, Delhi, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the address and removed a licence plate from a motorcycle parked in the parking lot.

The OPP want to remind all community residents that if they observe any suspicious activity to please contact the police.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT OF FUEL FROM VEHICLE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY OF RESIDENCE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating the theft of fuel from a Yin Street, Waterford, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the address and proceeded to remove approximately 45 litres of gasoline from a motor vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence.

OPP INVESTIGATING MISCHIEF TO VEHICLE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to an incident at a Sovereign Street West, Waterford, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknown attended the address and proceeded to damage the windows on a 2009 Jeep Patriot that was parked on the road way in front of the residence.

MALE CHARGED AFTER POLICE CALLED

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment arrested and charged a 52 year old male after police responded to an incident at a Charlotteville Road 1, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Saturday, June 21, 2014 at approximately 1:26 a.m., police responded to an address after being contacted by a concerned citizen.

Through investigation it has been determined that two males became involved in a verbal altercation which then turned into a physical confrontation.

As a result of police investigation a male was subsequently arrested.

Charged with assault, uttering threats to cause death of bodily harm, fail to comply with undertaking and trespassing at night is 52 year old Timothy Roy WELLS of Norfolk County, Ontario.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.

MALE CHARGED AFTER POLICE CALLED TO INVESTIGATE INCIDENT

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment arrested and charged a 31 year old male after police responded to an incident at an Culver Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Friday, June 20, 2014 at approximately 5:57 p.m., police responded to an address after being contacted by a concerned citizen.

Through investigation it has been determined that two males became involved in a verbal altercation and continued upon police arrival.

As a result of police investigation a male was subsequently arrested.

Charged with causing a disturbance, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and fail to comply with probation order is 31 year old Travis Kenneth MCDONALD of Norfolk County, Ontario.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.

OPP INVESTIGATE MISCHIEF- MALES CHARGED

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment arrested and charged a 21 year old male and 24 year old male after police investigated a mischief at a Thompson Road, Waterford Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, June 20, 2014 at approximately 2:49 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned home owner after noticing that projectiles had struck the eaves trough, front three windows on the residence and a vehicle that was parked in the driveway.

As a result of investigation, police arrested and charged two males with mischief.

Charged with Mischief Under $5000 is 21 year old Jordan Alexander BURKE-WYNNE of Norfolk County, Ontario.

Charged with Mischief Under $5000 is 24 year old Calvin COLE of Norfolk County, Ontario.

Both are to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) County of Brant detachment has charged a 29 year old male with a drinking and driving offence at a Cockshutt Road, County of Brant, ON address.

On Monday June 23rd, 2014 at approximately 1:18 am Police were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) program at the intersection of Cockshutt Road and Oxbow Road when a black 2003 Cadillac vehicle was stopped. While having discussions with the driver, signs of alcohol consumption was detected, which led to his arrest.

Charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle with Over the Legal Limit of Alcohol is 29 year old Brent Sault of Six Nations of the Grand River Territory, ON. He is to appear in Provincial Court, Brantford, ON at a later date to answer to the charge.

MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALTERCATION

(LAKESHORE, ON) – Additional charges have been laid in relation to an altercation on June 22, 2014 in Stoney Point.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has completed the investigation and two more persons have been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada.

Georges BEAULIEU, age 54, of Lakeshore, has been charged with Assault x 2.

Carrie BEAULIEU, age 33, also of Lakeshore, has been charged with Assault x 2 and Assault with a Weapon. Both parties will appear in a Windsor court on August 5, 2014.

THREE STUNT DRIVERS CHARGED IN ONE DAY

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was kept busy on Friday with drivers speeding along their roadways. On June 20, 2014, police charged three drivers on three separate occasions driving in excess of 50 km/h over the posted speed limit across Middlesex County.

On June 20, 2014 at approximately 9:10 a.m. Middlesex County OPP was patrolling Wonderland Road in the area of Fifteen Mile Road in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre when the officer observed a southbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The officer measured the speed to be in excess of 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. Police charged the female driver Emily Lansink, age 21 of Huron East, ON under the stunt drive legislation. Her licence was suspended and the vehicle she was driving was impounded for a period of seven days. The accused was released by way of a Part III Summons and is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom August 18, 2014 to speak to the charge.

On June 20, 2014 at approximately 11:59 a.m. an officer with the Middlesex County OPP observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Wonderland Road in the area of Ilderton Road in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre. The officer measured the vehicle to be travelling in excess of 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and as a result of the investigation, the driver, Russel LEWIS, age 71 of Middlesex Centre Township was charged under the stunt drive legislation. His licence was suspended and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for seven days. The accused was released by way of a Part III Summons and is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom August 18, 2014 to speak to the charge.

On June 20, 2014 at approximately 5:22 p.m. a Middlesex County OPP officer was on patrol when he observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed westbound on Catherine Street in the Municipality of Thames Centre. The officer measured the vehicle to be travelling in excess of 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. As a result of the investigation, police charged the female driver, Tammy RAE, age 50 of London, ON under the stunt drive legislation. Her licence was suspended and the vehicle she was driving was impounded for seven days. The accused was released by way of a Part III Summons and is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom August 18, 2014 to speak to the charge.

In 2013, OPP investigated 47 speed-related fatal collisions province-wide. The faster you travel, the more difficult it is to stop when you need to the most. Middlesex OPP continues to promote public safety on our roads through enforcement and public education. Drivers can do their part by obeying all road signage, eliminating distractions, staying sober and slowing down. The goal is not to get to your destination quickly, but to get there safely.

DRIVER ARRESTED FOR OVER THE LEGAL LIMIT

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On June 21, 2014, just after 2:30 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Dodge pickup truck at Highway 401 eastbound near Queens Line.

While the officer was speaking with the driver, 48 year old Jeffrey GREGOUL, from Windsor, ON, it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and he will appear in a Chatham court on July 11, 2014, to answer to the charge of Driving With More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol In Blood.

SPEEDING LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING ARREST

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On Sunday June 23, 2014 in the evening hours an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was operating radar on Highway 35 south of the town of Lindsay. The officer captured a northbound vehicle in his radar doing 112 kilometres an hour in a posted 80 kilometre per hour zone.

The officer from City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the OPP stopped the vehicle north of Mount Horeb Road. As a result of further investigation the driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams (mgs) of alcohol in 100 (ml) millilitres of blood. A search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of marihuana.

Rajiv KUMAR, 28 years of age, of Markham Ontario, is charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100ml of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code, possession of marihuana under 30grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act and speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on July 24, 2014.

Break and Enter

(Russell, ON) On June 12, 2014 OPP Constable Mario Hautcoeur responded to a break and enter report on Faucher Street in Casselman. At that location unknown person(s) pried open the front door to gain access inside the house. Once inside the entire house was searched and suspect(s) left with a small money box containing $20 dollar bills. The theft took place at night while the victim was away at work.

Impaired Driver

(Rockland, ON) On June 23, 2014 OPP Constable Joe Barbe was on patrol in Rockland when he noticed a vehicle swerving on roadway and travelling at a very slow speed. The vehicle was stopped on Du Parc Avenue in Rockland. The officer spoke to the driver and noticed an odor of alcohol. The driver was asked to provide a breath sample into the Approved Roadside Screening Device (Alcotest). The driver refused to provide a sample. He was warned several time by the officer the consequences of not providing a sample. The driver did not cooperate and refused to provide his breath sample.
