OPP CHARGE MALE AFTER COLLISION

(TRENT HILLS, ON) – On Friday June 20, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended to a single motor vehicle collision at approximately 10:20 pm where a male had gone into the ditch and was being uncooperative with those already on scene.

OPP attended and initiated an investigation into the crash involving a 2002 black Hyudai Elantra on County Road 30 near Goacher Road in the Municipality of Trent Hills. The lone male driver was initially believed to be under the influence of alcohol, but further investigation determined the male was sober. He was very evasive with Police with respect to the vehicle ownership and having proof of insurance. Record checks on the male resulted in several charges being laid.

Matthew YOUMANS, age 24 from Belleville has been served summonses for Provincial Offences Court on August 14, 2014 in Brighton for the following offences:

Operate motor vehicle without insurance – Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
Drive motor vehicle – no licence; use plate not authorized for motor vehicle and drive motor vehicle – no permit – Highway Traffic Act.
Breach probation order – Provincial Offence Act.

Theft Of Tools From Barn

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Saturday June 21, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a rural property along Perth Line 86 east of Molesworth, where a barn was entered.

Investigation revealed that sometime between 10 a.m. on Friday June 20th and 1 p.m. on Saturday June 21st, unknown person(s) cut the pad lock on the barn door and removed tools from inside.

A red coloured “King” generator, a set of air tools and a battery charger were stolen. To gain access to the property the culprit(s) may have used an ATV.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a theft from a Main Street, Port Dover, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

Between Friday, June 20, 2014 and Monday, June 23, 2014, unknowns attended the address and proceeded to remove a 10 x 10 tent along with three coolers.

The tent is described as a Rock Star tent, black and yellow in colour and the coolers are described as black and yellow in colour, approximately four feet tall.

The theft is estimated at approximately $1,500 dollars.

The OPP want to remind all community residents that if they observe any suspicious activity to please contact the police.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT OF TAILGATE FROM VEHICLE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a theft from an Erie Street, Port Dover, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the address and removed the tailgate from a grey 2000 GMC Sierra pick-up truck parked in the driveway of the residence.

The theft is estimated at approximately $1,500 dollars.

The OPP want to remind all community residents that if they observe any suspicious activity to please contact the police.

John PATRICK – Drunk Driving

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 19, 2014 at approximately 12:35 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks at the intersection of Jones Baseline and Eastview Road, Guelph-Eramosa Twp.

Officers spoke with the male driver of a 2008 Nissan and suspected that he had been drinking. A Roadside Screening Device test was administered which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to the South Wellington Operations Centre for further testing.

The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

John PATRICK age 68 of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 25, 2014 to answer to the charge.

Sindi INGRAM – Trafficking Cocaine

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) -On June 22, 2014 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers observed a 2002 Nissan speeding westbound on Wellington Road 109 near Concession 9, Wellington North Township. The radar was activated and measured a speed of 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the officers discovered that the female driver was a suspended driver. She was arrested and during the search, suspected crack cocaine was found along with items associated with drug trafficking. Also she was breaching her Probation Order. The male passenger was arrested for the trafficking offence.

Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute for the speeding offence.

Richard GIBERSON age 50 of Brockton is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (C.D.S.A.) and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August 19, 2014 to answer the charge.

Sindi INGRAM age 28 of Saugeen Shores is charged with;

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine- (C.D.S.A.)

Breach of Probation- Criminal Code

Race a Motor Vehicle- Highway Traffic Act- (H.T.A.)

Drive While Under Suspension- H.T.A.

She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on august 19, 2014 to answer the charges.

Elgin HOWELL – Drunk Driving

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 20, 2014 at approximately 12:39 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 86, near Marden Road, Guelph-Eramosa Township.

A northbound 1994 GMC van collided with a farm tractor pulling a sprayer that was also northbound. No one was injured and during the investigation officers suspected the male driver of the van had consumed alcohol and administered a Roadside Screening test which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to the South Wellington Operations Centre for further testing.

Elgin HOWELL age 64 of Brantford has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 8, 2014 to answer to the charge.

MISCHIEF AT MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION SCALES

(POWASSAN, ON) Members of the Powassan Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a report of mischief at the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) scales. Sometime between June 20, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. and June 21, 2014 at 7:17 a.m. a large commercial motor vehicle backed into the southwest corner roof line of the MTO inspection station. Due to the angle of the hit on the building it is obvious that the damage was done purposely. Damage is over $5000.

BREAK AND ENTER

(NORTH BAY, ON) – On June 20, 2014 police from the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) investigated a break, enter and theft from a Grand Desert, Bonfield Township cottage.

The victim reported the theft occurred sometime between Tuesday June 17, 2014 and Friday June 20, 2014. It was reported that blue cooler and a stainless barbeque was taken from the property

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE

(NORTH BAY, ON) -On June 22, 2014 at approximately 8:41 p.m. a member of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment was investigating a traffic complaint on Highway 11, Merrick Township. The vehicle in question was located and stopped. As a result of an investigation, Leonard WHITEHOUSE, age 55, of Ajax, Ontario, was charged with Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from custody and is required to attend Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on July 8, 2014.

THEFTS FROM VEHICLES

(Russell County, ON) The Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking the community to be vigilant when it comes to protecting their property. In the past week several items were stolen from vehicles that had not been locked. The OPP responded to multiple thefts from vehicles where personal property was taken from vehicles that were left unlocked when not occupied. Help us reduce the theft in the community by taking a few second to lock and secure your vehicle. It is always recommended to remove personal items from vehicles or placing them out of sight when your vehicle is unoccupied.

SUSPICIOUS MALE GETS ARRESTED

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On June 22, 2013 at about midnight Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised of an intoxicated male that was asleep on the front porch of an apartment on King William St. in the town of Huntsville.

Investigation found that a patron of the King William Inn was awkened by some noise in the parking lot and went out to investigate. They found that someone had taken a fire extinguisher from the wall and struck the ignition part of a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was sitting in the lot. This caused the fire extinguisher to discharge yellow powder around the area. A Yamaha was also in the lot and had the ignition wire pulled out and cut. This motorcycle was dropped and struck and caused damage to an Acura MDX that was parked beside it. The witnessess saw a suspicious looking male walking in the alley way at King William Inn, the OPP were notified.

Investigation found that the male that was asleep on the front porch was the one attempting to steal the motorcycles. Frederick BISSONNETTE (30yrs) of St Catherines Ontario was arrested and eventually charged with

The accused has been was held in for bail court dated Monday June 23, 2014 and will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Tuesday June 24, 2014 to answer to his charges.

$10,000 IN DAMAGES PROMPTS MISCHIEF INVESTIGATION

(HEARST, ON) -On June 2, 2014, the Hearst Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a mischief event that occurred at the NAV Canada commercial property located on Vallee Rd., in Kendall Township near the town of Hearst, Ontario.

A NAV Canada employee informed police that at approximately 7:00 am on June 1, 2014, suspect(s) attended the NAV Canada property and cut down a large tree with a chainsaw which damaged Hydro wires and broke a wire pole in half. The damage sustained to the hydro wires and pole is estimated at well over $10,000.

The OPP is asking for anyone with relevant information or who may have been in the Vallee Rd. area at the time in question, to call the Hearst OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

FUEL THEFT – MALE CHARGED

(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) County of Brant detachment has charged a 50 year old male with Theft after being called to a Colborne Street West, County of Brant address.

On Monday June 23rd, 2014 at approximately 10:55 pm Police were alerted to possible fuel theft from a parked transport truck at the Colborne St location. Upon arrival police located evidence of a fuel theft, as well as a suspect vehicle still parked at the scene. A search of the area revealed a suspect who was arrested after conversation with an officer.

Charged with Theft under $5000 dollars is 50 year old Gerald MARSH of Brantford, ON. He is to appear in Provincial Court, Brantford at a later date to answer to the charge.

OPP INVESTIGATING BREAK AND ENTER

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a Break and Enter at an Orchard Avenue, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the Haldimand Norfolk Resource Centre and gained entry. Once inside, unknowns removed a quantity of Canadian currency.
