Missing Person Found Deceased

(GANANOQUE, ON) – The identity of human remains located on an island on the St. Lawrence River near the Town of Gananoque has been confirmed to be an individual reported missing earlier this year.

On Monday, May 19, 2025, members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an island when an individual reported making the discovery. The Leeds County OPP Crime Unit conducted a detailed investigation, and it has been determined that there was no foul play.

The deceased was a 68-year-old male from the area. The individual’s name will not be released out of respect to the family’s privacy.

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking public assistance to locate a missing person.

The South Bruce OPP previously received a report that Julianna (Julie), 56 years-of-age is missing from the Huron-Kinloss area, and continue public appeal to confirm her well being.

Julianna is described as:

  • 5’5″ tall
  • 180 pounds
  • Heavy build
  • Brown hair (possibly dyed blonde)
  • Blue eyes

ALERT: Missing Person – Ronald, 75 Years Old

(GODERICH, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking public assistance to locate a missing person.

On April 13, 2025, at 2:31 a.m., members of the Huron County OPP received a report that Ronald, 75 years-of-age is believed to have been fishing in the West side of the Goderich Harbour. He was reported to have left his residence to fish at the harbour on April 12, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.

Ronald is described as:

·      6″ tall

·      180 pounds

·      Short grey hair

·      Blue eyes

·      Slim build

Last observed wearing:

·      1 white and 1 blue pull over

·      Blue jeans

·      Black snow pants

·      Brown winter coat

·      Baseball hat (dark colour)

There will be an increased police presence in the Goderich Habour area. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre is assisting with water and air searches. Please avoid the area.

Missing Person Found Deceased

(CENTRAL ELGIN & MALAHIDE, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirms that a missing person previously reported missing has been located deceased.

On December 4, 2024, a 19-year-old individual was reported missing from the City of London to the London Police Service (LPS) and was later determined have been last seen on Hawk Cliff Road, Municipality of Central Elgin. As a result, members of OPP continued the investigation.

On January 4, 2025, members of the Elgin OPP were dispatched to Waneeta Beach after a member of the public located a deceased individual on the shoreline of Lake Erie, Township of Malahide.

Investigators from the Elgin County OPP, in collaboration with the OPP Forensic Identification Services and the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario, have confirmed the identity of the deceased as the individual previously reported missing.

No foul play is suspected as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this death.

We kindly ask that any photographs from prior publications of the missing individual be removed.

The OPP would like to extend our deepest condolences to family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.

Police are requesting public assistance in locating missing person Angela ‘Angie’ NESHAWABIN, 42.  

Angie is described as an Indigenous female, standing about 5’3” tall with a medium build. She has brown hair and brown eyes.  

She was last seen on Oct. 31, 2024, at the Money Mart located at 77 Great Northern Road in Sault Ste Marie. Her last known communication through social media was recorded in early December 2024.

Angie is known to frequent the Chapleau and Sault Ste Marie areas.

Missing Person – Deborah ANISHINABIE

The Thunder Bay Police Service is issuing a renewed request for public assistance in locating missing person Deborah ANISHINABIE.

Deborah was last seen in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 5 in the area of the 100 block of Simpson Street.

Deborah is described as an Indigenous female with long black hair and brown eyes, and approximately 5’1” tall and 180 lbs. Debra has a star tattoo on her left shoulder and several smaller tattoos on both of her arms.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Investigators have spoken to potential witnesses, patrolled areas of interest, and canvassed for surveillance footage. Drones have also been utilized to assist with the search efforts.

Investigators are asking members of the public in the southern and eastern portions of the city — particularly in areas between Simpson Street, May Street, and Northern Avenue — to check their properties, outbuildings and laneways. Residents in these areas are also asked to review any home or business surveillance camera footage. Anyone driving in this area during the early morning of hours of December 5 who captured dash camera video is also asked to review that footage.

Anyone who believes they have found something relevant that may assist the investigation is asked to contact police immediately.

Missing Person Found Deceased

(EGANVILLE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has located the body of the missing person who was last seen in Eganville.

On October 18, 2024, police entered into a missing person investigation after a person was reported missing from Orillia, Ontario. Due to their disappearance their vehicle was registered on the police database. Patrol officers located the unoccupied vehicle in an Eganville parking lot near the Bonnechere River on October 20, 2024, after an alert was received from the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) integrated with the police cruiser’s In-Car Camera (ICC).

On October 22, 2024, the body was located in the Bonnechere River after 3 days of searching. Foul play is not suspected at this time.

The investigation by the UOV OPP Detachment is ongoing and is being conducted with assistance from OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit, OPP Aviation Services Unit, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU), and the Renfrew County Crime Unit. As well as in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

(OXFORD COUNTYON) – On Saturday, June 8, 2024, at approximately 10:19 p.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a missing person in Blandford-Blenheim Township.

On June 14, 2024, 37-year-old Gary BRITTAIN was located deceased near Railway Street East, Blandford-Blenheim Township.

The investigation is continuing and is not being treated as suspicious.

Identity of Found Remains Confirmed To Be Missing Person

(GEORGIAN BAY, ON) – The Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has received confirmation that human remains found in Georgian Bay Township belong to a missing person from 2018, Eric SPENCER.

On October 17, 2018, the 60-year-old missing person of Thornbury was reported last seen in the area of South Bay Road and Honey Harbour Road.

On April 21, 2024, human remains were discovered in a wooded area near the intersection of South Bay Road and Honey Harbour Road by a volunteer search organization, Please Bring Me Home.

The investigation was conducted by the OPP Southern Georgian Bay Detachment Crime Unit and the Office of the Chief Coroner, with the assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Unit and the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto.

No foul play is suspected in this investigation.

The OPP wishes to thank the community members who assisted in this investigation.

Missing Person Found Deceased

On April 8, 2024, the Guelph Police Service was involved in a sudden death investigation in the area of Speedvale Avenue East and Marlborough Road.

Investigators determined that the body discovered was the person reported missing on January 30, 2024.

The death is not considered suspicious. Family of the deceased were notified and have asked for privacy during this difficult time.

Respecting the wishes of the family, the Guelph Police Service will not be releasing any more information, but would like to thank the community members and agencies that assisted with the investigation.

Saugeen Shores Police are continuing a missing persons investigation in the area of the Saugeen River (Southampton).  Lijun was last in contact with family on Jan 27th 2024 at approximately 630am. A surge of river water and ice occurred as Lijun was suspected to be on the river fishing. 

There will be an increased Police presence in the area. The police search is ongoing and active.

Saugeen Shores Police in partnership with the OPP have been utilizing ground and aviation search techniques and this will continue.
